Guest Reviews
- Urooj (5/5): -
- Georgia (1/5): WARNING: They will keep your deposit and you’ll have to spend 2 weeks trying to wrangle it back from booking.com! - Distance to public transport The fact that our damage deposit did not get returned.
- Paul (7/5): -

- Edward (7/5): - great place to stay. got basics you need like stove and fridge. the host accused me of losing the TV remote despite me not taking it or moving it anywhere. took £13 off my deposit and said how i’m making her mum (who is also her cleaner) feel bad like it was her fault. only a small loss but annoying after such a good stay.
- Julian (1/5): - The property cancelled after we had booked on the day and said that they had a double booking, which was not our fault. I booked it for my daughter and she was left out on the street for three hours until we found another suitable hotel nearby with availability. Then the property told me it was my responsibility to get the refund from booking.com, which months later I am stiill trying to do via AMEX as booking.com did not respond to any emails. Not impressed with both the property advertising the room on various sites then not cancelling with booking.com as soon as it was booked elewhere. Then booking.com were terrible at responding and providing a refund.
- Simon (2/5): - It was in the right place for us and it had been cleaned. The room was small, the shower room was tiny, and both were in a poor state of repair. The shower unit did not work properly (water either scalding or cold, but no in-between). The window's sash-cord was broken, so impossible to close it. There was a fuse box exposed in the room, and a power point taped to the wall. There was no WiFi, or at least no instructions for connecting to WiFi. Altogether, the property fell well below the minimum standard that I would expect from a listing on Booking.com.

- Adam (5/5): Disappointing - Ideal location for us to visit family. Blind was broken so impossible to block light out to sleep. Spoke to host who said previous guests had broken it and they hadn’t got round to replacing it. Hope this is rectified before the next guests go in.
Taps in the kitchenette sink were very difficult to turn off. Shower was impossible to regulate temperature so with no instructions it was either too cold or too hot. Property was very basic in every way.
- Francis (5/5): Passable - The location The room
- Gianluca (3/5): Poor - The location is good We had four different apartments. In one of them, the air extractor in the bathroom didn’t work, so there was a constant bad smell, and no fan was available. In another, there was a power outage, which meant no electricity or water; my brother had to step out into the hallway covered in soap to ask for help.
Another apartment had exposed electrical wires and a dangerous setup, which was especially concerning since we had a child with us. The bathroom there was also in terrible maintenance condition.
Overall, cleanliness was poor across the apartments.
- Catherine (9/5): It had everything we needed very comfortable - Really comfortable & clean. Perfect for my sister & her boy to stay up the road from me. They were very happy here. Expensive
- Michał (1/5): This situation ruined my birthday - location and proximity to stores and public transport The main problems we encountered were:
• We received the wrong apartment – it did not match our reservation, raising concerns about whether we stayed in the standard we originally paid for.
• Cleanliness issues – The bathroom was dirty, and the shower was moldy.
• Electricity issues – Although there was power, we could only use the emergency £10 credit provided with a special key. Until the meter was properly topped up, we had to severely limit our electricity usage, meaning we couldn’t fully heat the room while also using hot water. The top-up took over 24 hours, causing great discomfort.
• Delayed check-in – Despite sending all required documents and a £50 deposit well in advance, we received no check-in details. After multiple attempts to contact the property, we only got the keys after 5:30 PM, and we were placed in an apartment that was not originally assigned to us.
• Unpleasant cigarette smell – which made our stay uncomfortable.
• No Wi-Fi access for several hours after check-in.
This situation was extremely stressful and disrupted our plans during our stay.
- Jack (1/5): Bad - I’ve already lodged a complaint and no one got back to me Unsafe building
- Lydia (5/5): Passable -
- Andrew (7/5): Good -
- Geraldine (9/5): Good location - Great location and friendly service from the Host nothing
- Asmaa (10/5): Exceptional -
- Powell (7/5): Good -
- Carly (8/5): Good location in regards to transport - overground and bus stop right at your door. Walking distance to Hackney to explo -
- Anthony (6/5): Adequate accommodation if stairs aren’t an issue. The owner should be more trusting of his tenants. - Close to the overground station. Reasonably equipped room. There’s no lift and our room was on the third floor. They are renovating the public access areas so it felt like building site. The owner asked for extra money as security up front even though a cleaning fee was included in the original cost. (It was refunded.)
One of the adjacent rooms thought playing loud music to 3am was a good idea.
- Noémie (9/5): Overall very good for a small city trip, I only used the room to sleep and get ready and it was enough for that. Little - Great Location! Train station was 3 min walk away.
The bed was comfy. There was a little kitchenette in the room that I didn't use, but it has a microwave and kettle.
Towels were provided (didn't use them, as they charge 10£/towel if there are any stains).
Host was very nice and even offered me a different room when I had issues sleeping at night because of the loud neigbour. The room itself was clean, but the hallway was dirty. They had recently painted the walls and failed to cover the carpet, so it was full of stains and dust.
No black out curtains, which was a bit annoying as the back yard is fully lit up by night.
The neighbour in apartment 7 was playing music at all times - no issue for me during the day but he did it after 10pm and on my last night at 1 am as well.
- Portet (6/5): Pleasant -
- Tetreault (10/5): Exceptional -
- Brennan (9/5): Superb - I had a very pleasant stay!
- Vasilakis (7/5): Good - Excellent location, very easy to get to the center of London using public transportation. The room was warm, the bed comfortable, a value-for-money choice outside the city center. The bathroom needs improvement: an incredibly small sink with 2 faucets, making it practically impossible to have lukewarm water, and a very small shower stall.
- Francesco (6/5): Pleasant -
- Mesterca (8/5): Very good -
- Tomas (5/5): U get what you pay for - It’s was cheap and the location is good. The nearest overground station is literally around the corner, the bus stop is right in front of the front door, there is a couple of shops and coffee spots next door. So the location is definitely the advantage. The room was warm, dry and clean. The communication from the staff was good. The room we got was tiny, it had no wardrobe or shelves to put our clothes in, the “kitchen” part was a sink and basically no space around it, so it was quite tricky to use, and some parts of the bathroom were about to fall apart (all somehow worked though). At night the level of street noise was sometimes bit annoying.
- Jan (8/5): Very good -
- Wojciech (8/5): Short vacay in London (5 days) - The localisation was perfect - very easy to get everywhere since the overground services were 3 minutes away from the flat. Also, the flat had everything one could want as a place to sleep and leave the bags in. To be honest there weren't many things like that, the flat was totally meeting my expectations. It was value for money. If I had to complain, then I'd say that the shower was too small for me, I barely fit in it, but I understand that the whole flat was compact.
- Colleen (10/5): Can’t wait to come back and stay had a wonderful stay here couldn’t fault it!! - Excellent location and also a beautiful room so clean and cozy had a lovely stay here. Nothing
- Ayumi (10/5): Good! - There is a big bed.
- Khaled (7/5): Cost effective - Clean, well serviced Entrance and stairs
- Michael (10/5): Wicked little pad for exploring - Location and cleanliness. Host was very responsive and friendly too Location is absolute killer. So east to get to so many wonderful places in London. It’s a great spot for public transport.
- Ivan (8/5): Very good - Clean, nice. The room has an exit to the roof, it was cool.
- Tsvetelina (8/5): Very good - It was perfectly located, clean, and had everything one needs for a short stay. The building is not very cosy, but is clean.
- Frances (4/5): Functional accommodation at a reasonable price for London. - The location was convenient for us and there were a couple of convenience stores nearby.
Instructions for accessing the property were clear although came through quite close to the time we were due to arrive.
The bed was comfortable although the duvet was too heavy for the time of year. The flat was clean and they provided hand soap, shower gel, shampoo and toilet roll which were more than adequate for our 2-night stay. There were three flights of stairs to climb with our luggage, no lift.
The studio flat itself was ok, a bit basic, the extension lead over the bed rail not ideal.
The shower room was very small, no shelf apart from low down near the toilet to put your toiletries on, and the bathroom needed better ventilation as it smelt musty.
There were no instructions for using the TV which needed quite a bit of figuring out, and there was a crack right in the middle of the screen. The bed had been turned round to a different position than that shown in the photos, meaning only one person could see the TV from the bed.
Policy of deducting £10 for each towel left with stains was communicated too late for us to pack our own towels, found this policy a bit annoying, made us feel as though we couldn’t use the towels - surely a good hot wash cycle???
- Zarko (5/5): It’s ok for a night stay max - The location, although as it’s on the Main Street it can be noisy. Shower door don’t close as much, tiny toilet, hallway before coming into the flat is all marked up. The 2 or 3 bedroom flat is been turned into studios basically. Emm I wouldn’t stay again, but the location is good as it’s walkable to Liverpool st.
