Guest Reviews
- Roland (9/5): Sehr schöne Wohnung in sehr schöner Lage am See. - Sehr gut eingerichtete Wohnung.

- Renata (10/5): A true gem in Salo! - This is a real gem, right next to the lake (2mins away) and close to everything in Salo!
1. The apartment is very spacious, two bedrooms, 2nd bedroom has a desk and is great if you’re working remotely.
2. Multiple balconies to relax, the host put up some lamps for coziness, and one of the balconies has a side view to the lake.
3. Kitchen is absolutely fine, made quite a few dinners, there’s some oil, spices in the pantry, and coffee etc, cutlery and utensils. There’s also a dining table, so yeah, great for a longer stay.
4 Location is impeccable, 7mins away from a super nice grocery store, everything you need is there! A short walk from the centrum or a beach bar.
5. Very homy decor, you can see that the owners care for the place.
6. Received very detailed instructions from the host, which made it easy to navigate, i found it very convenient as I had it all in one place. Some people mentioned it’s a lot, but I thought it’s awesome I don’t need to bug the host with basic questions.
7. We came with a dog, a dog beach is 15mins away on foot, super nice, overall a very dog friendly location. There’s a fee for a dog, but that’s understandable, our furry friends leave a lot of fur!
8. For an additional fee you get to park nearby, which is very convenient, and it’s pretty common in Italy that you have to pay for parking, so it’s nice when you have a convenient spot for a decent price.
I really enjoyed our stay, I almost feel bad writing the review in fears of it getting too popular and me not being able to book it again next year. Oh and the host was very nice, flexible (we were late to checkin) and left us some complimentary local olive oil, which was amazing, my biggest regret was not saving some time to visit olive oil farms in the area… Not a minus at all, but a different couch could be comfier for longer stays, but it’s personal, I’d prioritise a bigger couch for relaxing over the larger dining table that’s there. It’s a minor thing in the end!
- Angus (7/5): Overall ok, cramped bathroom - Good aircon in the bedrooms. Plenty of hanging space in the bedrooms. Kitchen facilities a bit limited but still very usable. Parking is a bit of a walk but usable (wouldn't want to stay in this location without a car). There are clothes drying racks, so despite no washing machine you can wash clothes in the bidet and dry them quickly if you need to do some emergency laundry. No aircon in the kitchen-diner / living room space, so very hot and stuffy in peak summer outside of the bedrooms (there was a heatwave when we went). Mattress in the main bedroom tired, wife slept badly. Bathroom layout makes the toilet very cramped (I'm 5'7" and my knees were touching the shower cubicle when I sat on the loo; my girls are much taller than me and had to sit at a 45 degree angle on the loo, which was... novel).
- Aleksandr (9/5): Great stay at the beloved Garda Lake - This is a nice apartment just near the lungolago (lake's embarkment). It has a really good position as it's close to the center as well as to public beaches, the closest one is about 100 meters. Sarah is a great host; she was very friendly and responded very fast. She is local from Garda Lake and really tried to make our stay as good as possible; I'm really glad to meet her. The apartment is beautiful, large and comfortable. It has two splendid balconies toward the lake and one long backward terrace. Wi-fi works well. For us it wasn't a problem but the apartment is at the second floor. The toilet is located a bit close to the shower.
- Kath (2/5): Beware of this host charging for extras that are already part of the price paid - I'm so disappointed to have to write this as I've never had to deal with a host like Sarah before. Before our stay, she contacted us asking how many beds to make then stated that there was a cost of 15 euros for us to have sheets. I had specifically confirmed that all costs were included in the booking.com price in February 2023 before I booked as it seemed odd that she wanted extra money for things that are always included (this can be seen in the traveller questions on the accommodation page)
She was so hostile when I said that we had already paid for everything to be included and said she was on the phone to booking.com to cancel my non-refundable reservation when I was on the way to the airport, three days before we were staying in Salo. The only way I could get her to not cancel was to agree to pay the 15 euros as I had no other option at that late stage.
It was difficult because we were worried she wouldn't let us in, she'd tell us we had to leave early and we couldn't contact her for things that we needed in the apartment. It is a nice apartment but not worth the stress it caused us when we were visiting for a special occasion.
Unfortunately there were these issues:
- Wifi only works in the living room
- The double bedroom door doesn't have a key to lock it so you only have a shutter. We left a chair
against the door and bed when we were out and at night just in case.
