Guest Reviews
- Richard (8/5): - Quiet location, good facilities. Nothing
- Alison (10/5): Beautiful Retreat - Beautiful cottage with modern fixtures in a stunning location with Saundersfoot on doorstep a short walk to beach and amenities Nothing
- Nisha (9/5): -
- Andrew (9/5): A first class properly very clean and a beautiful location - Very comfortable fully furnished wonderful location and we were the only people staying so had a private holiday We didn’t meet anyone which was excellent but we are use to meeting someone upon arrival
A very minor comment
- Claire (10/5): -
- Lynsey (8/5): - The cottage and location was lovely Lack of blinds in bathroom, and kitchen,as access to downstairs shower was through the kitchen. Shared back garden as everyone had dogs.
- Michelle (10/5): A very lovely last-minute break - A very lovely, quiet spot, with picturesque views of the countryside. A well equipped kitchen, and a comfortable bed. The host was very responsive and helpful (which I was particularly grateful for when I managed to lock myself out of the property!). Short drives took us to: Saundersfoot itself; a fabulous farm shop called Four Seasons; and an amazing pan-Asian restaurant called Lokky's. Just what we needed. Thank you for a lovely stay! n/a
- Kirstie (7/5): Ok but could be much better with some TLC - Lovely cottage in a nice location not far from Saundersfoot. The dogs loved the grounds and the lake. It has a big kitchen & our bed was super comfy. The fire had not been cleaned out, burnt wood & ash still in it, doors were black with soot. No wood or firelighters left to have our own fire which wasn’t really good enough as it was very cold at night and we booked this cottage ‘because’ it had a woodburner.
Thick Cobwebs behind the bed, not been cleaned in months.
Bedroom window still completely cracked (has been since a 2024 review)
Not enough cutlery or glasses, no pasta bowls.
Hardly any personal touches around the property, hardly any pictures or ornaments/accessories which made it feel sparse & bare, it didn’t feel homely..
Downstairs shower not very nice, a bit like a camping shower you’d find on a campsite.
Spiral staircase not very well done, you can hit your head on ceiling at top & bottom and last step very narrow. Not suitable for small children or pets.
- Thomas (9/5): Really enjoyed staying here and will definitely be back. - Great location and beautiful cottage with plenty of space. Nothing
- Tracy (9/5): Cosy cottage in Saundersfoot - Cosy cottage, very clean and the host friendly and attentive. Very good location, it was only a short drive to Saundersfoot. I'd like to come back in the summer to experience the outside more. It would be great if there was a mirror in the bedroom. Apart from that, I couldn't fault the place.

- Anthony (10/5): - Great value for money and can't fault anything about the place tbf.

- Katy (8/5): Very pretty but quite compact and not suitable for young children or older people/those with mobility issues. - Very pretty. Lovely surroundings and very quiet. Stairs up to the bedroom which a standalone iron spiral staircase. Not suitable for young children or older people or anyone with mobility issues. We didn’t really like going up and down them either as steps so narrow. Wetroom got very wet!
- Helen (8/5): -
- Beth (10/5): - Loved our stay here!
- Robert (9/5): Lovely and would stay at Buttercup again. - Lovely period cottage in a nice location. We booked late as we knew the weather was sunny and dry. So we’re probably lucky that Buttercup was available. Very comfortable and homely with just about everything we needed during our stay. Situated close enough to Saundersfoot to walk down into the centre. Would definitely stay there again. Had dishwater but would prefer washing machine.
Tight metal spiral staircase.

- Norma (9/5): Peaceful, restful and comfortable. - The location was beautiful and very peaceful. We loved seeing rabbits running around in the morning and in the evening, and a heron taking off by the water. The bed was really comfortable, as were the settee's in the living room. The fridge was huge, and everywhere was spotlessly clean. We didn't like the shower wet room. We're both older, and the whole room was wet, so difficult to get dry and dressed. Instructions on how to work the cooker would have been handy as well. Minor details, overall we enjoyed our stay very much.
- John (9/5): Superb - The cottage was really cosy and very clean in a perfect location nice walk too Saunders foot and super quiet Nothing
- Sarah (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful cottage, well situated. Peaceful. Plenty of walks. Wish we could have stayed longer.
- Chris (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful setting overlooking the lake.
- Jp (10/5): Fantastic location. A memory to behold. - The location is pure Bliss. Very cute cottage. So much that I really wouldn't mind living there. The downstairs shower
- Katie (10/5): A great little cottage if you just want to get away for some R&R - A pretty little cottage nicely decorated and clean. Peaceful location. Could have done with a couple more tea towels. However, in all fairness if I would have asked the owner they would have arranged this. They kindly had an iron and ironing board ready for me on arrival as requested. Very accommodating
- Ann (7/5): Good -
- Michelle (8/5): Getaway - Cottage was really clean and modern
Shower was powerful
Picturesque location No shower up stairs
- Rania (10/5): Home from home cottage! - The property is perfectly situated from Saundersfoot beach yet has the privacy and openess of country side.
It is beautiful decorated cottage and very well maintained. It felt home!
Small touches we liked like the little library and the little window at the top on the ground level overlooking garden. We had salt, pepper, oil, foil, a lovely tray with hot chocolate, tea and coffee! Small amenities that make such a difference!
The beds & pillows super comfortable! It is so important with being away from home to sleep comfortably.
It was great for dog walks! Loads of options for eating out or ordering close by. We would come back again for sure! ♥️ Nothing
- Robert (7/5): Faultless really , must be so pleasing seeing all your hard work paying off, good luck for the future - Location and views were lovely, and the cottage was warm and cozy.Hosts were friendly with very good communication Needs the following:- welcome pack, battery in clocks, more t-towels.
- Mushtaq (10/5): Very pleasant - Very nice organisation
- Sophie (10/5): The cottage was absolutely beautiful inside and out, perfect location and nothing but peaceful 😊 - The cottage was absolutely beautiful inside and out, perfect location for not only Saundersfoot but neighbouring beautiful seaside towns. Cannot fault our stay one bit. We will most certainly be rebooking 😊
- Huw (10/5): Exceptional -
- Thomas (10/5): Perfect weekend! - Great location.
Comfortable cottage with great facilities - exactly as described.
- Jack (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful setting, newly furnished and close to many activities
- Keith (8/5): Very good -
- Catherine (5/5): Some great features but overall disappointed :( - The property is in a fantastic location, near enough to Saundersfoot but remote enough to give great peace and tranquility. The highlights of the stay were the superb cleanliness, easy to use central heating system, lovely bath and the finish of the decor. TV has all the smart channels for cosy nights in. The highlight was the bed in the master bedroom which was super
comfy with luxurious bedding. Good size fridge and easy to use double oven. Views are great over the lake and we saw lots of wildlife on the farm including rabbits, a woodpecker and a cormorant:) Unfortunately there were lots of things that we did not enjoy too. Communication wasn’t great as we were messaged to say we would receive a text to say when the property was ready for us. This never came. Secondly, the locks on the front and back door were very challenging to open, this meant quite some time stood out in the cold/rain actually trying to open either door. The kitchen isn’t well equipped and as others have mentioned before, you will need to bring your own drinking glasses unless you are prepared to drink out of a wine glass. The stairs are hazardous and would make the property unsuitable for children, pets and anyone who struggles at all with balance or mobility. We are two able forty year olds and we dreaded using the stairs. Shoes are required to use the stairs in a safer way because the steps are sharp iron grids that are painful underfoot and could easily cut your foot. There is a large crack all across the window in the master bedroom with a small hole where the window is chipped. This lets condensation in and makes the blind wet which makes the bedroom smell damp. Any clothing left nearly also becomes damp overnight as a result. There are two clocks in the kitchen which are nice features, but neither are working. We stayed over the Christmas week, which is understandably quite expensive for a cottage near to saundersfoot. There was a bottle of Prosecco left in the fridge which was a nice touch, however, we would personally have preferred a welcome note to make us feel at home. There was no Christmas decor in the property but accept this is a personal choice and may not be to everyone’s taste. An improvement would be for a simple welcome book/guide, maybe with emergency numbers, local places of interest, recommendations for eating and local map etc. We’ve stayed in many cottages/rentals before and this is usually the (appreciated) standard, which gives a bit of a personal touch. Buttercup didn’t have anything like this unfortunately.
- Simon (10/5): Exceptional -
- Steven (9/5): Beautiful house, we had a lovely stay. - Perhaps some extra tea towels and some kitchen cleaner.
Spiral staircase was an interesting feature.Might be a challenge for some guests.
- Andrew (8/5): Very good -
- Lewis (10/5): Exceptional - Fantastic location, charming cottage. Will definitely visit again. We were very impressed with the presentation and location , totally as described. There was absolutely nothing to dislike from the property and its location
- Amanda (9/5): Quaint yet modern cottage close to Saundersfoot & Tenby. - Quiet, very pretty location but not far from Saundersfoot and easy to explore the surrounding areas. Prosecco was a lovely touch.
- Connor (9/5): Superb -
- James (8/5): More information please! - The location is beautiful and the cottage is charming. Whilst it is a good standard of finish there could be a few improvements like more cutlery dishes mugs etc. There were very few glasses to have a drink. No mirror in the bedroom and there is no shower in the double room, bath only. The twin room uses a shower room downstairs which means a long walk down very difficult spiral staircase. Less abled people beware!. The walk into town is 25 minutes and a steep hill to negotiate. Don't wish to downgrade this cottage but more honest information and a few touches here and there would be welcomed.
- Sunny (10/5): Great long weekend. Will return again! - Incredible value for money. Great peaceful and safe location but also within easy reach of Saundersfoot beach and town, and also Tenby. Really clean upon arrival and hosts always at the end of a telephone if required which was great. Thank you!
- Sara (10/5): Fabulous views, peaceful location - The location was amazing so peaceful beautiful views. Short drive to Saunders foot
House was immaculate.
I would definitely recommend a staying here.
- Paris (9/5): Superb - Perfect secluded location with view and access to a lovely little lake. Fully equiped kitchen, brand new and clean. All was brilliant, just a minor comment that there was no wine opener!
- Katie (10/5): The best Easter break - Lovely cosy cottage with so much character but modernly designed. Spotlessly clean throughout and the bottle of champagne on arrival was a lovely touch. It is so peaceful with amazing views and lovely walks we really had the best Easter break. The kitchen was well equipped with the only minimal item we needed during our stay was a pizza cutter apart from that I couldn't fault anything it was perfect for our family.
- Leonie (10/5): Exceptional - Stunning cottage, peaceful, and in a secluded location but close enough to nearby Saundersfoot beach, shops, and Tenby. Will return in the near future.
Polite and responsive host.
Thanks again for an amazing break.
- Dave (10/5): Exceptional -
