- Lisa (6/5): It was pleasant but not worth the money we paid. The place needs a general deep clean/maintenance - The kitchen and bathroom within the house were modern and well maintained. There was linen available, even though we were told it wasn't. We arrived with our own linen then realised we didn't need it. The beds were comfortable, and it was air conditioned. 1. The second bathroom needs to be advertised as an outdoor bathroom. There were no internal walls, you could see the outside through the brick. Pipes were exposed in the shower and toilet area. I would not have booked this property if I had realised it was not a proper second internal bathroom that accessed the house.
2. Cleanliness was an issue. We arrived at 3.30 for 4pm access and the cleaners had just arrived. They were there for 30 minutes, 10 of which was spent going to the shops.
3. The BBQ was filthy and unusable. My son in law needed to go to the shops and buy products to clean it before use. We decided not to, and hence didn't take advantage of that opportunity, which had been a big selling point for us when booking.
4. There was no remote to the DVD player, so couldn't watch movies with the grandkids. Found it on the last night wedged into one of the lounge cushions.
5. There was a cockroach infestation, so we needed to buy spray to keep that under control.
6. What we thought was direct access to the beach was a pathway through to a section of beach that was unsuitable for our young grandchildren due to rips and no flags/lifeguards. It is not a patrolled section of beach. This needs to be made clear.
7. The washing machine leaked every time we turned it on.
8. We paid for 6 days, but really got 5, as we could not book in until 4pm, which I have not experienced before. Even then we were waiting for the cleaners to finish after the 4 pm entry time.
