Guest Reviews
- Mark (10/5): Highly recommended for anyone wanting to unplug and experience the magic of North Wales! - A Perfect North Wales Escape
If you are looking for the ultimate peaceful getaway, this beautiful cottage in the heart of Snowdonia National Park is perfect.
From the moment we arrived, we were struck by how perfectly the cottage blends rustic, traditional character with modern comforts. The interior is incredibly cozy—featuring exposed stone walls, a roaring wood-burning stove, and a kitchen stocked with everything you could possibly need.
The hosts Alison and Dan were wonderfully welcoming, and respond quickly if required.
We left feeling completely refreshed and are already planning our return. Highly recommended for anyone wanting to unplug and experience the magic of North Wales! Nothing at all.
- Principal (8/5): - Great location and very clean property, near to the GYG Karting track which worked really well for us and close to 2 x pubs, within walking distance with a well stocked village shop 75yds away from the property.
- Neil (10/5): Excellent small cottage - central to basic needs. - Central to my purpose. Local shop and 2 x pub/restaurant all 2 mins walk away. Park for kids 100m away. There is a small patio at the rear but in the shade. Lots of local walks etc locally, you will need a car, head north for the lakes or to Bala (South) for beauty spots. Hot water did not exist at 2-4pm for showers but resolved quickly. Bathroom silicone has failed and the hand shower head split so only the overhead works, needs replacing for £15 at B&Q :)

- shahista (9/5): Amazing - It's a lovely cottage. Hosts are amazing, very thoughtful of them to keep tea coffee sugar and even a milk and cookie for the guest.
The cottage was very clean, also, bedsheets and towels were really clean like new so we used it comfortably. In the bathroom they kept little bottles of shampoo and bath gel which was convenient.
Everything about this place is perfect, amazing log burner area and lots of family friendly games, we had an amazing time. Only one thing is that this place is bit far form snowdonia mountain railway (basically main attractions) . It's about 45 mins drive, which is the only concerning point.
- Darren (9/5): A lovely location and a cosy cottage, good value for money. - The location and the layout of the property. Especially liked the log burner. Bed size too small. Oven not particularly clean. Some light fittings not working and no replacement bulbs available in the property that we could find.
- Rachel (8/5): Lovely Snowdonia getaway! - Loads to do nearby!
Lovely cosy accommodation Limited seating in the living room.
- Chris (10/5): Fantastic place - Nice and warm Nothing
- Nicholas (10/5): Perfect place for our weekend break catching up with family. - Warm and cosy

- JC from England (8/5): A lovely cottage in a quiet village with a pub & shop nearby - Nice stone house in a quiet location with a shop 1 minute walk away and a local pub within 5 minute walk. There is also a small park with a playground just across the road. It was a lovely touch to find milk, tea, coffee, sugar & biscuits on arrival. Very welcome after a long drive. Plenty of Games and dvds plus a smart tv with Netflix. The log fire was really nice and although it was summer we had a lovely cosy evening toasting marshmallows. I understand you pay for what you get, but with a few simple adjustments it would make for a perfect stay. Just some general maintenance - broken window latches, broken door handle and peeling wallpaper. Cleaning could also be improved - hairs found in bed, dirty towel rail & ashtray left outside not emptied.
- Amanda (10/5): Helpful host, friendly locals, pubs and shop, within east distance to many attractions - Lovely clean well equipped cottage in a Great location Nothing!
- Agnieszka (10/5): Our satisfaction definitely came from the pleasant time spent by the burning fireplace. - The style of the house alone was impressive – the fireplace added a great touch. A perfect getaway from the hustle and bustle of the city. There wasn’t really anything we didn’t like. Maybe just the fact that we didn’t get to know the area well, and we had some trouble finding a place to walk our dogs. There was a sports field and playground across the street, but dogs weren’t allowed there. Although the area seemed quite green, we couldn’t find a spot nearby where our dogs could run freely on the grass.

- Benedicte (9/5): Lovely little cottage in a quiet village with great access to everything Snowdonia has to offer. - All amenities needed. Close to local walks and attractions/places of interest. Quiet village and lovely views. Slightly dated in places and was a little worn round the edges but nothing to impact stay. Everything else was spot on.
- Dominic (10/5): My family and I loved staying here. There is a great shop nearby and 2 lovely pubs to eat at. - Excellent location. Nice and quiet and dog friendly. Nothing.
- Anne (9/5): Well equipped and comfortable cottage with efficient central heating and log burner also. Handy for everything North Wal - In village with shop which we found very useful. Close to the A5 but no traffic noise. Easy access to town facilities in Corwen and Bala. Warm and cosy in February without lighting the log burner (we were with small children) Wood and lighters for the log burner provided, which I’ve found to be rare in rental houses. Comfortable beds and sofa. No toilet downstairs and stairs are very steep.
- Jeff (10/5): Spent New Year’s Eve and had a very good time - Great location and a beautiful property very comfortable beds and my grandchildren loved the double shower Nothing
- Mike (9/5): Superb - Warm, cosy, quiet, well equipped, great location for exploring. A perfect getaway spot
- Sophie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Joe90 (10/5): Exceptional -
- Chris (10/5): Exceptional - Fantastic property and location and even provided a cot for the little one. Highly recommended 👌
- Nicola (3/5): Very disappointing will definitely not be returning. - Good heating system so lovely and warm. Lovely towels. In need of a good clean. Furniture uncomfortable, settee too soft, bed mattresses were not good quality. Curtains coming off the rail, door handles falling off, slugs in the kitchen. Bathroom had mould and the shower screen needed a good clean as it has green algae which can be easily cleaned off! Cushions on double bed were full of hairs and dust, and the bed side tables were filthy. unfortunately I could go on.
- Steph (8/5): Lovely , family time in a lovely cottage. - Lovely cottage, very cosy whilst also being spacious. Comfy beds.
High chair and cot provided which was really helpful.
Great location for visiting different places such as Llangollen, Ruthin, Corwen. Only 50 minutes from the coast. The property had everything you could think of except for a hairdryer. I normally take my own but on this occasion I didn’t. It’s only a small thing but would have been useful.
- Robert (8/5): Really enjoyable. Appreciated the extra time given so we could come back after cycling & pick up ou. - In key box as described. Bedroom tv kept losing its tuning as it wasn’t connected to an external aerial. Not really a major issue. Just thought it was something that needs thinking about.
- Simon (8/5): Very good - House and location No pub or restaurant within walking distance
- Michael (9/5): Superb -
- Deborah (10/5): Exceptional - Perfect location to have trips out. Facilities in kitchen well provided for loads of utensils etc. Welcome biscuits lovely touch thanks 😊 tea coffee sugar . Small shop stocking lot not minutes walk away. Thank you for the fire wood it rained heavy one day and we made a fire when back and it was cozy. Great communication from the owners very welcoming 🙏
Bathroom shower is superb and best night's sleep had all year!
If you want quiet cozy get away with character real home from home this is it..Thank you Noticed on reviews people commented few times on door handle needs fixing and thought that's petty but after it fell on my foot few times thought yup...fix it please...
If had my tools would done it myself as only take couple minutes.
- Joseph (8/5): Very good -
- Custardfest (10/5): Exceptional - The house and location were perfect
- Jayanth (10/5): Exceptional - Everything about the cottage was perfect Nothing
- Adam (10/5): A true home away from home, there is pretty much fully stocked kitchen, it was all very clean and comfortable - The homely feel. A couple of door handle were loose.
- Karen (10/5): Enjoyed our stay - A lovely quiet area but not too far from places of interest, we had what we needed and it was clean and comfortable Struggled to get the tv working in the evening but got there eventually
- Arkadiusz (9/5): Excellent communication hight quality perfect standard highly recommended -
- Lanat3 (6/5): Pleasant - Location was good. Liked the log fire and beds were comfy. House was quite grubby looking and needed a few repairs done.
Could also do with a good clean.
No wardrobe or hanging space in double bedroom.
No parking.
- Michael (9/5): A good 3 night stop - Very quiet and comfortable. Well equipped and stocked with biscuits coffee tea and milk. Very useful having 3 bedrooms with good sized beds. Easy parking outside and across the road for our second car. Good and friendly local shop. Friendly pub 150yds up the road that provided overnight EV charging. Good situation to explore mid Wales. Small sitting out area at back but it was raining so not needed.
- Katherine (7/5): Cute property with a good location - Cute cottage, great communication, well thought out, nice pub up the road and a good base to explore the surrounding areas. Parking was great right it the front door and the log burner is fantastic Seems to be in need of a little TLC, a couple of the door handles were loose, a few cobwebs and could do with a few more comfortable seating in the lounge to seat all 5 guests. But served the purpose we were looking for
- Dean (9/5): Superb - Great location for what we had planned, very comfortable and well equipped. We had to cut our stay short due to work commitments
- Clive (8/5): Very good -
- Joanne (10/5): Exceptional - The cottage was in a lovely Neighbourhood!, a warm and cosy feel!
A private secured courtyard garden for the dogs
Tea, coffee, sugar, milk and cookies on arrival!!!!
Comfy beds, lovely Shower/bath!
All the amenities that you would need!
The owners were absolutely lovely and a nice playground across the street for the children!
- Sandra (6/5): Pleasant - The location was perfect for exploring North Wales. The property was well equipped. A lot of black mould in the bathroom. The double mattress was very firm - we found it uncomfortable. Some bedding was old, worn and stained.
- Jamie (9/5): Would stay again - Lovely property in a nice quiet location with easy access into other parts of wales
- Tracy (10/5): Lovely relaxing stay - Really lovely traditional Welsh cottage, had everything we needed for a comfortable stay, the fireplace is beautiful and my springer spaniels really enjoyed a good snooze in front of the fire after their long Forrest walks. The beds are comfy, kitchen had everything you would need to cook. We had a lovely relaxing stay
- Matt (10/5): Exceptional -
- David (8/5): Good value. A comfy cosy cottage. - It was lovely and clean. Lovely wood burning stove. Kindling and logs had been left to light the fire. There was freshly ground coffee and tea and fresh milk in the fridge. The furniture and carpeting are a little tired.
- David (9/5): Cosy house, with wonderful log fire and great traditional welcoming pub - Great location, and had a wonderful local pub. The locals are so friendly and welcoming, even though we didn't speak a word of Welsh everyone was very accommodating. Some of the dishes looked they they were put away a little dirty. No big deal, as we put them straight in the dishwasher (tablets kindly provided).
- Kerry (10/5): A great stay we will be back - The house was warm and comfortable we enjoyed our stay the tea milk and buiscuits was a lovey touch for when we arrived
- Elizabeth (9/5): Superb - Great location. Lovely cottage. Owner very helpful. Log burner very cosy.
- Amy (10/5): Very enjoyable stay. We had a lovely time here. - Comfy beds and nice shower. Monopoly board game kept us entertained.
- Emma (10/5): Highly recommend for family and pet wuth a car. - The cottage was lovely very homely for our little family, very clean and tidy and plenty of room for our family of four and our dog, lots of near by places to walk our dog. People in the village made us feel very welcome. We are very much looking forward to going back again.
- Linda (9/5): Superb -
- Amy (8/5): A lovely cottage! - Comfy beds, excellent shower!
- Edmunds (7/5): Quaint and ideal for a couple - Great communication, Great location and very smooth Check in.
Biscuits, Milk and Coffee were a nice touch and very welcome after a long drive. Enjoyed our stay and would return.....personally I think the house should be " smartened up" a touch as it's a little tired in places. But that's just my opinion and I understand it's a holiday let.
- Sarah (9/5): Superb -
- Christophe (8/5): Very good -
- Chengeto (8/5): A lovely comfortable holiday home for a family - Its a quite nice location, and clean, with friendly people. A store with in 100 yards from the property with all the basics needed. There was tea, milk and biscuits in the property as a welcome which was very helpful. Nice clean beds, with towels. Kitchen well stocked with utensils, iron It was more than a home, and my kids really loved the place. Nice website with tips for activities and trips to explore. Most importantly, there were no overwhelming rules, just the usual basics, compared to other places I have been. Thanks Danny and Alison, for fantastic place to stay. I would recommend to anyone who wants to explore the lovely mountainous view of Snowdonia and site seeing. Regarding the location there is no specific things to name i did not like. But to be able to view the beauty of Northern Ireland you need to drive and be patient to follow the steep roads and bends, which might might be dangerous as new in the area.
- Andrew (8/5): Very good -
- Anonymous (10/5): Perfect stay for our family holiday. The house was very helpful and made us feel so welcome - Location and comfortable stay
- Stani (9/5): Superb -
- Travln' (10/5): Cozy Quaint Home in North Wales - Nice cozy place in the heart of northern Wales. The house is conveniently located just off the regional highway and there's a general store and a quaint pub in walking distance. Could've had another garage bag.
- Tanya (8/5): lovely stay, nice location, friendly villagers - lovely little village very quiet needs a little TLC
- Lucy (8/5): Very good - location and has a lovely shower! it had everything we needed parking
- Daniel (8/5): Very good -
- Sonia (10/5): Exceptional - Such a lovely cottage nearby store a pub No takeouts nearby and it was alil quiet
- Stewart (8/5): Very good -
- Tania (9/5): Great location, need to bring food shopping with you. - Location was great for the karting track. Had everything you needed for your stay. The main bed was very hard but that is just personal preference. Also all the surrounding shops & cafes were closed in the evening which meant we had to travel quiet far for food & groceries.
- Nicola (10/5): We stayed here as a family of 5, 3 adults 2 children. Beautiful cozy property. 10/10 - Location was perfect & peaceful close enough to drive to places to walk/eat. On arrival at 6.30pm the property was lovely & warm as the heating was on. We got the log burner lit & played monopoly with the kids. The beds are so comfy too & crisp white sheets 🥰 there’s everything you need in the property & Danny was the perfect host thank you. Can’t wait to visit again in the future.
- Hodge (7/5): Good - The log burner was excellent. The beds are comfy. Good location for North Wales. Small living room for 5 people. Obviously a well used cottage, needs a refresh and some minor repairs.
- Karina (10/5): Exceptional - It was a pleasure to stay at the cottage. So comfy , cozy and quiet. We have enjoyed every single minute over there. All facilities were available as per our expectation. Fireplace was amazing, so warm and relaxing. The host was very nice as well and the communication was great. We couldn't expect anything more. We had a very nice break at the cottage and the location just perfect.
- Supreecha (10/5): Value for money - Great location and enough kitchen utensils to cook a great meal. none
- Ben (10/5): Exceptional -
- Gerard (5/5): Pleasant stay but boiler needs to be replaced. - The house was comfortable and clean. It is a slightly odd layout with a kitchen / dining area wrapping around the living room but it all works ok. Just before we went to say Danny sent us a message telling us that there was a problem with the boiler and we may smell oil in the house. He did tell us he was going to replace the boiler but it would not happen for another 4 weeks. The house was warm and there was plenty of hot water so the boiler was working but the house did smell of oil. The smell was upstairs and downstairs but whilst I would prefer it wasn't there it wasn't intolerable. Danny has been in touch since to say again he is replacing the boiler so I am sure he will but personally speaking I would wait until he has replaced the boiler to stay again - which I would do.
- Amy (8/5): lovely, good value find in beautiful location - lovely cottage perfect for a group holiday, set in beautiful surroundings there was a smell of oil coming from the boiler but the owner was proactive in assuring us it was not dangerous and that it would be seen to straight away
- Dave (8/5): Very good -
- Bcamelia21 (8/5): Nice and quiet! - The communication with the owner was very easy and smoothly. The place have all the necessary staff for your holiday living, the location is quiet and nice. Very comfy and warm house and even if putside was freezing, inside was perfect to stay and overnight keep warming.
Overall was nice experience! The cleaning wasn't really good, special for us because we have a baby with us, we find spider net under the bed.
For some reason was a smoke smell in the main bedroom and on the towel from that room, even if there is request with no smoking and a lot of back hair around.
It is very hard to find a place to eat,but the kitchen from the property is fully furnished with all what you need to cook.
- Susan (1/5): On inspecting the property we felt it to be unsafe. We left the property and travelled home. - NOTHING . We DID NOT stay overnight at the property, we felt our health and safety would be compromised. Difficult to comment. WE DID NOT STAY overnight due to health and safety concerns.
- Ian (10/5): Brilliant, loved it! Would definitely stay again and would happily recommend. - Lovely location and great for us visiting our sister who lives close by. For a three bedroom house there could have been more downstairs seating but that is a very minor gripe.
- Candy (8/5): we had a lovely short break here some lovely walks on the doorstep - location was really good . lovely little comfortable cottage wi fi was really good .
- Richard (10/5): Exceptional - Great location, very comfortable two bedroom. Nice kitchen. living room. Bed very hard.
- Matthew (10/5): perfect place with lovely local. I had a great time here and will definitely come back. - the beds are super comfortable and the shower is fantastic.
the property has everything you need. the small garden but we didn’t use it so didn’t really matter to much to us
- Anonymous (7/5): Good -
- Peter (9/5): very pleasant.ample room for a family - location was central for loads of attractions and places to visit
- Lynn (5/5): great location, would go back but needs work - It’s location is fantastic, so close to some amazing places, snowdonia on your doorstep It’s definitely could do with a deep clean, and benifit from a bit of TLC/paint , felt leaving £10 for extra clean after the dog was a joke, after spending 2 hours cleaning the kitchen when we arrived, cooker still live after turning off at the socket, plugs upstairs buzzed in the small room
- Hemal (9/5): Superb - All the necessary supplies were there.. Everything was good but the only thing that needed a little improving is the fire on the living room as we wasn't able to use it because there was no manual . It would be good if there was a manual to used it .
