Guest Reviews
- Andrew (3/5): Nice, but not again. - Lovely house and facilities. House was not cleaned, beds still had dirty sheets on from last guests and left unmade. Food in sink, dishwasher had dirty crockery in, dining table left half made. Also no gas oil for central heating and hot water.
- Martin (8/5): - Lovely property Unfortunately the cleanliness wasn't up to scratch
- Christiane (9/5): -
- Linda (3/5): Disappointed. - Place looked nice, on a busy road but cannot hear traffic once inside.
Plenty of items to use in the kitchen. Received the incorrect code for the lock box, telephone number provided was not in use. Owner replied to email with correct code, still hard to unlock the box. Found it really difficult to lock the door when going out.
No heating in the lounge, only a fan heater and a single blanket!
Heating not working upstairs, no hot water upstairs. Shower downstairs really really slow to drain, water soaked the bath mat, had to wipe the bathroom floor after each shower. Looked like another pipe was inside the drain.
Could not connect the WiFi to the TV, tried various times, owner said all instructions were written down, had no TV for 3 days.
Loads of tiny flys all over the house, an old pot full of kitchen waste on the kitchen shelf, not removed by cleaners.
- Naomi (7/5): House was beautiful and would recommend, but communication was poor to try fix minor problems - The location was good for travelling to Hay-On-Wye as less than a 15 minute drive. Lovely location right on the river, nice and quiet in surrounding area. Spacious house with several bedrooms and bathrooms. Heated floors were a bonus. Nice welcome basket on arrival. The internet didn’t work on any device, including the TV that was already in the house. There was no remote for the at box although welcome pack says to use that. I tried to contact the owners about the remote and some other things and now I’m home, I’m still waiting to a reply. Due to the house being so close to the river, there were lots of flies and spiders, in every room. Especially as there were quite a few plants in the house too. The heating was hit and miss, was warm in utility room and downstairs bedroom but cold everywhere else as radiators weren’t switched on.
- Melissa (9/5): Beautiful property, quiet location, stunning view! - The house is huge, finished to a very high standard with quality facilities. The view of the river on the back... Wow! The property was easy to find, and easy to access. 10 mins to Hay-on-Wye and lots of other quaint villages. Lots of walks nearby. Nothing!
- Massimo (10/5): best accomodation I've ever had -
- BEAVON (9/5): Relax - Lovely accommodation, well presented.
Good facilities.
Nice outdoor area overlooking river. All was good
- Jamie (10/5): The house was lovely with all we needed - The only issue was getting access, the door was open when we arrived but the key PIN code did not work. We tried calling the contact telephone number with no response.
- Spracklen (10/5): -
- Rebecca (8/5): Great value for money, lovely home, great layout with good internal facilities. - Very nice internally. Lovely bathrooms, great kitchen and utility, nice bedrooms. Good pressure in the showers and lots of hot water. Lounge was big and there was plenty of access to the outside. Close to a nice little pub. The outside area needs work. It needs tidying up and weeding. There are also a lot of ants. Some better outdoor furniture would be nice.
The decor in the lounge felt like it didn’t match the rest of the house. Made no difference to our stay, it was just an observation.
- Kimberly (10/5): Excellent, comfortable stay. - Great location right next to the river Wye. Comfortable spacious house. The kitchen was well stocked with useful storecupboard ingredients. It would have been useful to know that the property supplied a cafetiere beforehand. In some properties there are nespresso machines, others nothing at all.
- Olivia (10/5): A lovely house in a perfect location for the Brecon Beacons - So clean and tidy, really well equipped, great parking
- David (10/5): Absolutely fabulous house nestled on the banks of the River Wye. - This stunning house was absolutely immaculate. Small bottle of wine and some biscuits left in a basket in the kitchen. Perfect location for exploring the Brecon Beacons- incredible value and we would have paid more. Shower tray very slippery in en-suite…needs a mat. Bath towels a little small. An idiots guide as to how to use the remotes for the tv would be so useful.
- Rebekah (8/5): Very good -
- Pastyman72 (10/5): Excellent property for a relaxing break! - Great property with everything needed and more for a base to do a hike in the Brecon Beacons Nothing! Everything was perfect for us.
- Barbara (10/5): Beautiful home in stunning location - Beautiful home with a lovely terrace overlooking the river Wye. Clean and comfortable.
- Claire (10/5): Great stay - Very well equipped. Beautiful location. N/A
- Claire (10/5): Unbelievably clean and comfortable. - We regularly stay in holiday rentals and this was the cleanest I’ve ever stayed in. It was as though no-one had ever stayed in it before! It was extremely comfortable, spotlessly clean throughout, very well equipped, warm, spacious and with a very homely feel. Lovely location looking out onto the river. Would highly recommend.
- Sarah (10/5): Exceptional -
- Rahul (10/5): Exceptional - Very well kept property
- Kelly (9/5): Great short stay close to Llangoed Hall where we had a family wedding - Beautiful house plenty of room for a family of 4 with 2 teenage children. Set up lovely on arrival with a nice basket of drinks and a a few treats . Clear instructions on everything available as required. Nothing
- John (1/5): A total disaster. - Very nice well appointed house with lots of space. The beds were not made and there was no bed linen to enable us to make them.
I tried to contact the host 3 different ways and got no response from messaging, telephone or SMS.
A week has now gone by and I still haven’t has any response to offer an explanation, apology or discount for the inconvenience and stress this caused me and my colleague.
- Thomas (8/5): Very good - View was fantastic Single bed in twin room was very loosely assembled and could do with tightening up
- Olivia (9/5): Superb - Lovely accommodation, all clean and well supplied with basics, great area, incredible views Wasn’t given the code to the key box but that was an easy fix!
- Heald (9/5): Really lovely - Location was excellent Ensuite toilet seat needed fixing and single bed wobbled if you turned over in bed!
- Ian (8/5): Just a one night stay for a Mountain bike event. Perfect location, facilities excellent. -
- Vanessa (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sarah (10/5): Would stay here again - The property was in a good location for the purpose of our stay & visiting family in Brecon. It was clean. Good communication from the owner
- Janine (8/5): Couldn’t fault the house - Location was excellent for where we needed to be. Wrong key code sent (presumably by booking. com) by email before our stay and not easy to rectify, on arrival there was no telephone reception in that area. So we had to drive to find reception- quite a long way making us late for our event.
- Melanie (1/5): Disapppinting, horribly stressful, never had such a bad experience with a booking before. - I was not able to stay at the property because it was horribly dirty when I arrived.
Had it not been filthy, it looked beautiful! I was really looking forward to coffee on the deck by the river. Unable to stay—there was rotting compost out, crumbs all over the dining room floor, mud tracked in many rooms, all beds slept it and unmade, smelled badly like the rubbish had been sitting for several days. Completely un-livable state. The property managers were unresponsive to multiple phone calls and messages from me and now from Booking to resolve this despite having messaged me 10 min prior to my arrival (then ghosted). After 3 days there is still no response. I booked this for a trip with friends and it really ruined our evening to need to book a new place at the last minute.
- Pei-ling (6/5): Filthy! Despite it being a nice house - It is a lovely house BUT if you are running a business and charge £136 a night shouldn’t you at least clean the house and take all the used towels and a bag of rubbish away rather than leaving them on the floor and on the pantry surface? We arrived at the house and wondered if someone left the house in a hurry without cleaning the house? It is unbelievably dirty!!! What a shame..! Very disappointing! Having read all the lovely reviews we were really looking forward to it. But the house is unbelievably filthy! Two piles of used towels on the floor (one in en-suite toilet and one in pantry), shower room had green cleaning liquid dripping, a bag of rubbish was left on pantry surface, kitchen sink had residual food, kitchen surface was filthy with red oil drips everywhere, “clean” towels were left on the floor, bed were made extremely badly, bath was very dusty, floor was not vacuumed, etc etc. unfortunately I am only al lowered to upload 4 photos! Just cannot believe how filthy this place is! Really should ask for the money back!
- Clare (10/5): Beautiful home - Home very beautiful, all amenities in property.
Great quiet location, overlooking river Wye, walking distant to a lovely pub.
Every inch of property was clean and tidy - Of a high standard. N/A
- Alexander (10/5): Exceptional -
- Indigozest (1/5): Host not contactable. Had to find alternative accommodation at the last minute. Awful! - There was not an opportunity to like anything given that the host completely ignored calls, texts, emails and voicemails when we arrived at the property to access the key code. Host completely ignored any attempts to get hold of them to obtain instructions for the key code access. Previously our booking and check in time were both confirmed. We were outside the property in the freezing cold for an hour trying to make contact. I spoke with booking.com who said that they had requested to cancel the booking because of over booking but had not actually cancelled it and had not responded to booking.com when questioned further. After more unanswered calls, texts, voicemails and emails we had to drive around the area looking for alternative accommodation at the last minute. Not at all what you expect from a host with a superb rating!!!!!!
- Denham (8/5): Quiet and scenic. - A stunning place with everything you can think of provided. Beautiful views of the river and local wildlife. The host is very nice. We look forward to staying again.😁 Not all radiators worked. Toilet seats in the ensuite and upstairs bathroom are a bit loose.
- Jeremy (8/5): Very good -
- Tina (9/5): Good - The house was perfect location to see my family.
Lovely and spacious.
Nice a fairy modern.
Would stay again They needed more essentials. Toilet roll, washing up liquid, washing up sponge, teas towels hand towel ,hand soap only in one bathroom . Lucky my family lived close to give stuff to us. The cooker needs a clean it was very smoky from previous use. Plants need throwing away they are dead.
So nothing to bad just helpful things
- Leeanne (10/5): Beautiful accommodation with great facilities, would 100% recommend. - Underfloor heating. Very spacious and comfy and gorgeous well equipped living room, dining room and kitchen. There were some plants in the property that could have done with a bit of maintenance but that is the only thing I could say negative about it.
- Ellen (9/5): Superb - Absolutely stunning house, really roomy with comfy beds and sofas. Really well equipped kitchen with modern equipment and great dining room. Garden and view were stunning. There wasn't any toilet roll or soap on arrival, so had to purchase from small petrol station up the road. Sky remote was also missing so couldn't use the TV, host did try to help but couldn't find it anywhere.
- Joan (9/5): Very enjoyable. - Spacious& very comfortable, well furnished especially the kitchen. Was a delay in it been ready , as in cleaning , but due to the weather it was understandable,
At least we were able to wait in the property.
- Kirsty (10/5): Beautiful home. Perfect for a family of 5 and still felt spacious! Well worth the price. Not far from Builth Wells. Than - Everything was thought of. Was clean spacious and well set out. Nothing.
- Gillian (10/5): Comfortable and cosy - The house was immaculate and in a great location for us. We would definitely go back
- Paul (10/5): Lovely place that felt like home from the moment we arrived. - Felt like a home from home, nice size for our family of four and everything on hand that we needed.
- Ruth (1/5): Extremely Disappointed! - The house had not been cleaned or beds changed from previous occupants!!! We decided we couldn't stay and returned home. We did eventually receive an apology from the owners and an explanation that there had been an error with the cleaning team. However despite trying to be more than understanding and patient, 8 days on, we are yet to have a refund!! The owners are simply not replying to ourselves or Booking.com! Very, very disappointed and frustrated! Would not recommend.
- Sambell (10/5): A beautifully presented home in a lovely location. - Immaculately kept and very well provisioned. Facilities are superb. Location on the river was lovely. Nothing!

- Lesley (10/5): Superb, spacious property - Fabulous spacious home which was clean, comfortable and well-equipped. Lovely location with terrace overlooking the river. The welcome gifts were much appreciated There was nothing I didn't like
- Rae (10/5): Exceptional -

- Rolandas (10/5): Great and spacious Villa for a family - Very cozy and modern Villa located in very nice Lliswen town surrounded by many tourist places.
100% Recommending None.

- Sarah (10/5): Oasis in secluded area - Everything! It was such an oasis after multiple days of hotels. It was clean, quiet and cozy. I wish we’d booked more nights. We’ll definitely be back! Nothing.
- Vanessa (9/5): Lovely modern villa, all mod cons and a fabulous setting - The property was lovely and really well appointed with lovely rooms, kitchen and bathrooms. The setting was also beautiful with the terrace on the river. Nothing
- Mike (2/5): Uncomfy to sleep in dirty bed. had to go out and buy towels - Location was great The beds were slept in and unmade. No towels. Bins were full of garbage.
Owners impossible to reach by phone.. called the number 20 times . They ignored.
They offered zero compensation for the house not being cleaned before we arrived.
- Nigel (9/5): Superb - Number given for owners not attainable andit took 2hrs to reply from booking. Com to get key safe number to get into property.
- John (10/5): Absolutely brilliant- hope to return one day - Exceptionally clean and tidy- well presented
Fantastic location
Well equipped Nothing- everything was perfect- just not there long enough
- Jaki (10/5): Exceptional - An amazing home, equipped with the best of everything. Great location for hiking and exploring some of Wales. Two pubs and a cafe close by, and the river views were amazing. There wasn't much not to like...
- Michael (10/5): Stunning. - Absolutely stunning home, very spacious and comfortable, the gift from the host on arrival was very appreciated and the view of the river and countryside from the back of the property is superb, I would highly recommend. We didn't stay longer.
- Dean (10/5): I will recommend to friends excellent stay - Location was perfect Nothing not to like
- Helen (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ging (9/5): Superb - Host was fabulous, informed us of an item we had left behind (which we managed to pick up) and was great when our arrival times were delayed.
The property was beautiful, lovely, clean and open plan. Plenty of space for our party of 4.
Shame we didn’t make the most of the outside patio overlooking the river.
Ideal for the local ParkRun - just 15 mins away.
Thank you Minor point on loose toilet seat and bathroom lock not working.
- Simon (9/5): Excellent short stay - Lovely house in a fantastic location. Everything was very well presented and the property was lovely and clean. The property had everything you needed for a long or short stay. Views over the river were lovely. Nothing about the property, maybe the key code could have been sent prior to the visit rather than have to call for it.
- Jane (9/5): Excellent break - Fabulous property and location. Exceptionally clean. N\A
- Ann (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely and clean property with plenty of space.
- Glesni (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely modern and clean accommodation.
- Leah (10/5): Gorgeous house that had everything you needed. - Gorgeous location and views Single beds were uncomfortable. Frying pans didn’t work on the induction hob. Contacted host and they were on it straight away.
- Ruth (10/5): Exceptional - Super clean, amazing amount of appliances in the kitchen, beautiful patio overlooking the lake - a perfect place to stay! Nothing. There was a slight mix up with check out time, so I would double check this but otherwise a perfect stay.
