Guest Reviews
- Giorgio Enrico (10/5): - No need to add to other very positive reviews, which I subscribe. Best view in our trip to the UK. One other review complained that the floors above the apartment were very thin and a lot of noise came from the apartment above. This worrried us quite a bit and we almost did not book this property. I have to counter that review. We had a group of several people in the apartment above, mentioned the issue of the noise to them. The lady kindly said "then I will remove my shoes". So from the noise point of view it worked perfectly.
A little advice to other travellers: the road through the old town to the front of the house is tortuous and very, very narrow. If you stop to unload the luggage you block the other traffic on the only road through the old town. If we had known this in advance we would have parked the car in the parking place nearby, which is accessible via a much better road, and rolled our luggage for a few minutes to the apartment.
- Derek (10/5): Exceeded expectations - N/A Nothing
- Ian (10/5): - Really great apartment to stay in, very nicely decorated and equipped.
- Louise (9/5): -
- jane (9/5): Fabulous Christmas getaway with my husband - Loved that we were overlooking the Fowey estuary. Lovely decor and quality fittings. I hadn’t anticipated there not being a freezer which would have been very useful for all our Christmas food. Also, there was an annoying sporadic motor noise which seemed to come from the other apartment.
- Mark (10/5): Wonderful 4 days in Sandpiper, great as a base to visit Looe and Polperro. - The views were amazing and location perfect for strolling to the many restaurants in the village. Nothing to not like
- Christine (10/5): Exceptional stay in a beautiful apartment overlooking the river. - The property was in a beautiful location with views over the river from every window and only minutes walking distance from the town centre. It was very tastefully decorated with everything needed to make our stay feel like home from home. It was extremely cosy and even the ambient lighting was pleasant. Everything was perfect.

- Claire (10/5): Loved it, wish we could live there. - Immaculate accommodation in the heart of Fowey. Stunning views. Fabulous outside space.
- Chris (10/5): Welcoming, clean , comfy. Well equipped , lovely location. Everything thought of . High standard. - Not applicanle Not applicable
- Tim (10/5): Perfect. - Location, quality of accommodation and facilities
- Elizabeth (10/5): Stylish Alertment in a great location. - Beautifully property in a great location. Would highly recommend it to travelers.
- Marcus (10/5): Perfect weather, perfect location, perfect flat. - Everything. The location, the flat, the balcony, the weather. Nothing
- Andrea (8/5): Location and accommodation exceptional. Just which may disrupt your peace. - Location, with views across the estuary, is outstanding. Facilities are modern and the decor top quality. The balcony with views across the water really makes it special. We had a couple staying above which sounded like a herd of elephants - so heavy footed. Could hear every sound they made, even his snoring. They would also walk around before 5am which was disturbing. Did spoil our sleep but not our break. It’s our second stay here and the first time no one was above us - bliss! Also no parking but this wasn’t a problem as there’s a car park 5 mins walk.
- Steve (10/5): Exceptional -
- Tim (10/5): Well situated, high quality and comfortable. Would stay again. -
- Lynsey (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful apartment and amazing views, didn't want to leave! Nothing
- A (9/5): Magical venue and apartment - we will return - Beautiful apartment - and clean
The location and view over the river was frankly STUNNING ! A little difficult driving down narrow one way road to apartment ... and hastily dropping off bags before finding a car park (300m away).
Turns out everyone is very patient with this etiquette ... so no need to panic in the belief you are annoying other cars behind you
(I didn't hear an irate car horn over week we were there)
- Shah (10/5): Excellent property in a very central location with stunning views! -
- Ian (10/5): Exceptional - What an amazing apartment, very well furnished and very cosy.
I would recommend it to anyone! We'll definitely visit again, would love to return when the weather is warmer and sit on the balcony.
Ten out of ten.
- James (10/5): A perfect getaway pad with waterside views - Everything! - We loved the interior design and cozy feel. Some lovely touches including the Prosecco and drinks waiting on the coffee table. Things like window seats looking out onto the water, bespoke headboard, cushions and sky lit displays all added to the special feel of the place. The walk-in wet room / shower was also very nicely done! n/a
- Buckingham (10/5): Exceptional - Stunning apartment. Beautifully appointed. Fantastic location. We will be back!
- Emanuela (10/5): Wonderful cottage nestled in the centre of Fowey with scenic views - This is a little gem! Sandpiper is a stylish apartment, very comfy bed, sofa, great kitchen facilities, fab views and central location!
The host is very attentive to details and when something went wrong she didn’t hesitate to put it right immediately. Plenty of little details will make this stay really special and memorable.
- Andrew (10/5): An excellent bolt hole, will be back - Location, style and comfort Nothing
- Julie (9/5): Superb - Facilities in the accommodation, the furnishings and the balcony. The view of the river. Difficulty of parking. Closest car park was usually full, and Old Station Yard car park charged for overnight parking.
- Stephen (9/5): Excellent apartment for a couple for a short break. - Excellent location, spotlessly clean and comfortable bed. No Microwave, loose toilet seat and it should be made clear parking is a 5 min walk at a cost of approx £6 a day.
- Neil (9/5): excellent property centrally located in Fowey town centre yet peaceful & close to car park -
- John (10/5): Brilliant week in Fowey during the annual Regatta. - Perfectly located in the centre of Fowey. Sandpiper has been tastefully renovated and provides a comfortable base to explore Fowey and Cornwall. Nothing.
- Kris (6/5): Pleasant - Lovely location, nice apartment with lots of nice furnishings and equipment. Shower was fantastic. Being delayed by 2.5 hours to enter the apartment as it had not been cleaned before the (already much later then most places we have stayed in before) 4pm check in time. No real acknowledgement of the inconvenience it caused and that we had spent £30 on food and drink that we would otherwise not spent had we been able to enjoy our own drinks etc that we had brought with us. Just a 'thank you for your understanding'. When you spend £340 for 42 hours in a property losing 2.5 of them and not being given any form of compensation does not seem right, especially noting the extra cost we incurred having to occupy ourselves whilst the cleaner was putting things right. Also, the lack of wardrobes or any way to hang clothes was not great. We think this particular aspect needs to be addressed.
- Lesley (10/5): This was amongst the best holiday accommodation we have ever stayed in. - This was amongst the best holiday accommodation we have ever stayed in. Very spacious for 2 people. The location was fantastic. Loved the private terrace overlooking the river. Nothing!
- Geoffrey (9/5): Very friendly host, comfortable rooms, few improvements could easily be done, but - Location was wonderful Too many nick knacks. Very little ability to hang clothes for a 4 night stay. Dishes did not fit in dishwasher, no top for frying pan.Would have appreciated more useful things in welcome basket as we had at other places.e.g. Fresh milk, shampoo.
- Kelly (10/5): Beautifully Decorated &Amazing View - The apartment is absolutely gorgeous. It's decorated beautifully and has everything you could need. The view onto the river is amazing. The host does not reply to messages in a timely manner or at all. The noise from the apartment above is excessive. No sound proofing.
- Marcus (9/5): Superb location. Estuary views. - Superb location. Estuary views. Almost nothing. The toilet seat was loose.
- Wendy (9/5): Relaxing with great views, good restaurants on the doorstep. Fabulous location. - Comfortable bed and beautifully furnished. Fabulous views. Nothing really. The only thing missing was a slotted spoon to take out poached eggs but otherwise perfect.
- Alex (9/5): Fabulous places in a perfect location, the view is stunning! some outdoor seats to soak up the view - Really good quality fixtures and furnishings, shower really powerful The kitchen could have a few more booking utensils and a microwave would be v useful
- Lynette (9/5): Beautiful cosy and clean property in a prime location. - Gorgeous property with everything needed for a short stay and in a stunning location. There was a little noise from the neighbouring/adjoining property - you could hear talking and footsteps, which was slightly off-putting but didn’t ruin the stay.
- Rebecca (10/5): Perfect! Lovely immaculately clean and the most comfortable bed. - Everything was so tasteful and the balcony had the most beautiful views.
- Hannah (10/5): Exceptional -
- Christopher (10/5): Exceptional -
- John (9/5): Beautiful home and location - but noise travels from property above. - Beautifully appointed home, in a wonderful location Sandpiper is the lower of two properties and the sound insulation between the two is sub-optimal
- Isaac (10/5): Honeymoon by the river - Central location but quiet and secluded. Excellent views from apartment.
Really comfortable. Nothing...everything was fine.
- Jill (10/5): Lovely -
- Guy (10/5): very comfy - good location n/a
- Karen (10/5): Exceptional -
- Paul (6/5): Pleasant - Lack of hanging space
No utensils in kitchen, slotted spoons etc
Decanter left with liquud/sediment. Looked awful.
- Denise (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kevin (8/5): Very good -
- Robert (9/5): A wonderful break in a place we love. - Location could not be better - beautiful river views and easy access to the centre of Fowey. Not far from the car park. Beautifully furnished apartment with lovely touches, very comfortable bedroom and a lovely en suite. All very clean and welcoming. A shame we couldn't use the balcony on this visit due to the weather. Difficult to fault this place. Due to exceptionally stormy weather throughout our stay, with gales from the south, the window nearest the dining table was very draughty even though it appears to be quite new. I am not a fan of double glazing and all the other windows were fine.
If there were room for a microwave, this would be a useful addition in holiday accommodation. Otherwise the kitchen was excellent.
- Callum (10/5): Lovely break away in Fowey - Great views! Well furnished & equipped apartment! Walking distance to all restaurants, shops and pubs of Fowey! Easy check in! Could have possibly done with a blackout curtain on bedroom as got very light in mornings.
Soundproofing to above apartment isn’t the best, so hear all upstairs movements.
- Eamonn (7/5): Great location close to all amenities - Great location and view Appreciate a flat over will always be some compromise but we could hear occupants moving around a lot throughout stay. Also the tv needed subscription for most of channels inc terrestrial and Netflix which was a real pain. A small freezer within fridge would be useful and a microwave feature in the oven
- Louise (9/5): Superb - Amazing view, great location and such a comfortable property. Just the right amount of space for our stay. Just missing a view items that we needed during our stay- basic bits such as a dustpan and brush, microwave and freezer. But we coped without these and would be better prepared for our next stay.
- David (8/5): Nice apartment and nothing wrong except the noise from uppper apartment - Very new and clean The sound proofing is non existent as you can hear a pin drop up stairs
It sounded up stairs like a heard of elephants in clogs and woke us when they woke
Walking up and down apartment and taking and I’m sure they didn’t realise this at all !
- Marcus (10/5): Fab weather, location and accommodation. - Fabulous location. Car park 5 mins away. Not expensive. Balcony overlooking the Fowey estuary.. who could ask for more. Nothing..
- Graham (9/5): Lovely stay in the super location - Very chic set up with a lot of attention to detail.
Very comfortable bed.
High quality sheets towels etc Very audible noise from upstairs apartment. Sound insulation from above not very good.
Canvas chairs for outside a little frail: back rest bunches very easily.
- John (8/5): Very good -
- Karen (9/5): Perfect chill out - comfortable and peaceful location in beautiful Fowey. - Spacious and well equipped with small added extras i.e biscuits, sherry in carafe which made you feel welcome. Loved being able to sit out on the balcony and watch the day unfold on the river Faulty loo seat - unable to raise the lid. Not good if you were trying to impress a new acquaintance and should have been picked up by cleaner
- Guy (10/5): Exceptional -
- Brigitte (9/5): Superb -
- Adam (10/5): It was perfect. - A beautiful house with a lovely view of the harbour. Very convenient for seeing Fowey, with several carparks close by.
- Scott (10/5): Exceptional -
- Terry (9/5): Beautiful apartment in a fantastic location - No microwave
- Stewart (10/5): Excellent property in a great location - Great apartment with excellent facilities in a great location All good. We knew about the parking arrangements
- Andrea (10/5): 5 star property in a prime location overlooking the river - located in a prime spot, just a few minutes walk to the shops and eateries. The property is quaint but has been beautifully decorated and has everything you need for a few days to a week or more. it has a lovely waterfront view and is so relaxing. We’ll definitely be returning. Nothing not to like! Please note, there’s no parking facilities but there are two large long stay car parks just a 5 minute walk.
- Sarah (9/5): All in all we had a wonderful time. - We loved the apartment and its location and the view. It was all brand new and extremely comfortable and we had a great time there. When we arrived at 4.0 pm, we did not know the code to enter, so we had to phone the host. There was not the usual welcome pack/information/instructions at all and we had to phone the host to ask for the wi-fi code. Normally there are instructions about leaving. As there were none, we put all the rubbish in the correct bins inside the property. We loved the balcony, but would have appreciated a couple of comfortable chairs for outside and a small table. We felt that the bamboo chairs provided were a bit unreliable - ie we were afraid of breaking them! An airer or washing line would have been useful in the lovely weather. These are merely helpful hints about this lovely rental property.
- Scott (9/5): Fowey is a lovely harbour side town and the cottage is just perfect for a couple to enjoy Fowey. Check out North Street - The views and location. very comfortable bed Nothing not to like
- Helen (10/5): Coastal Haven in Beautiful Cozy Cottage - An absolutely beautiful, charming little cottage. We loved the views and location and the attention to detail in all the amenities that made it truly like staying at home. wish we could have stayed longer.
- Jones (10/5): Absolutely incredible and can't wait to revisit. - The whole experience was lovely, from the great communication with the host to how clean everything was.
The only thing that was negative was that I could not stay longer as I have work commitments!! I cannot say enough good things about this place. Thank you so much.
- Chantelle (10/5): A perfect place to stay. -
