- david (10/5): - Great stay at this accommodation. Staff were amazing. Pick up/drop off service at the train station was greatly appreciated. Great accommodation if walking the Michinoku Trail.
- Christian (10/5): Comfortable and excellent service! - The service and people were so nice. Staff very kind! Always with a smile!
I always had a great day here at eboshiso, and definitely will come back! Thank you for everything!!!

- Thinh (9/5): - Friendly staff and the dinner

- Vincent Teo (9/5): - Room clean, comfortable and spacious.
Dinner was sumptuous and delicious with fresh seafood and sashimi.
Buffet breakfast has a good spread of variety.
The place is dated but well kept and clean.
Nice Outdoor onsen facing the ocean. Futon can be thicker and firmer for better support and comfort.
- Cerny (9/5): A lovey hotel, nice onsen, good breakfast and accommodating staff. - Very nice hotel, lovely room, good breakfast and a shuttle service to the nearby train station.

- Nigel (10/5): We had a great stay. We were hiking Michinoku Coastal trail (MCT) and this was a great stop - We had both dinner and breakfast and both were outstanding. The staff were amazing. We arrived early and were allowed to check in early. The man at the front desk was one of the most helpful and nice people we have met. Thanks so much for everything. We liked everything.

- Peter (9/5): Basically perfect - Great bath area with sauna, nice room with great view when the weather allows it. Staff is really nice (Japanese only, but basic info is present on informational pamphlets in English - don't be afraid of the language barrier!) and the whole place has great atmosphere. I recommend spending more than one night to get the proper experience. Room balcony was kind of dirty with nothing but concrete and a rusting A/C unit. Not really a big deal, but could be nicer.
- Marilyn (8/5): Enjoyed our stay, soaking in onsen & sleeping on tatami mats. Staff were very helpful & it was a great look at l - It had restaurant for breakfast & dinner serving delicious meals. The lodge is nestled in the hillside about 2km walk downhill to the Horinai station making it easy to move up & down the Sanriku coast. It was a little isolated but it was comfortable relaxing in reception lounge.
- VASILIKI (9/5): - The rooms were very traditional and lovely and that was an experience missing in most of the places we stayed in. The onsen facility in the balcony was also an excellent feature of the place. The location is great for those that do road trips on that side of the country
- Petro Steere (10/5): -

- Mirando (8/5): Very good -
- Ann (10/5): Such helpful staff. - Comfortable Smoke smell in my room.
- Sandra (2/5): Nice onsen, shame about the hotel. - The only nice part of the stay was the onsen, which had a view on the ocean (but not while sitting in the water, when you are too low). The women's outdoor pool seemed recently renovated. However, it was impossible to adjust the temperature of some of the washing stations to anything other than boiling hot. Three of them could be adjusted to a more normal temperature.
The hotel is clearly dated and the rug and curtains old and stained. There was a problem with the toilet (shared) when we were there, so we had to go one floor down and across the hotel. Despite the fact that very few rooms were occupied, the staff didn't offer to move us rooms so we could be closer to the only functional toilet, despite the fact I am seven months pregnant with twins and it is very evident. Nor did they offer a discount, or a free meal, or any other manner of making up for the obvious problem that none of the toilets on the third, second or first floors worked. We were travelling with my parents and I was appalled at the apparent complete desinterest of the staff in our comfort. The rooms were turned towards the ocean, but sadly the view was again blocked by the elevator shaft. The view from the dining/breakfast room is impeded by solar panels and whatnot, which is a real shame.
The food was nice and served on time, my husband enjoyed some good local beer with dinner.
- M.y.chai (8/5): Very good - Traditional japanese style hotel. Very clean and quiet. I was there alone, at might the corridors leading to my room is dark and scarry. Maybe they use minimum lighting to keep bills low.
- Sarah (6/5): Authentic rooms and food. Does the trick, but don't expect too much! - The location was the reason we chose this hotel. Supposedly every room has an oceanview, and the common baths had an outside bath with ocean view. The baths were nice. Happy they served regular dishes in their canteen since we did not order kaiseki beforehand. The rooms smelled... intense. Stronger than regular tatami. The hotel in general and 'canteen' where food was served were not cozy, run-down vibe. However, everything was sufficient. The public bath was lukewarm, and to see the ocean from the women's bath you had to stand up (which wasn't great with lukewarm water). The sauna in the women's bath was out of service.
- Lee (1/5): Bad -
- Michael (7/5): Nothing wrong but bit old. - The room was nice, nothing special. Very basic and a bit old. Could see the ocean and it was clean. It's a bit old. The breakfast room gave me the feeling I was at school. It's a very basic buffet.
- Hideki (10/5): Exceptional -
- Hideki (10/5): Exceptional -
- Isaac (8/5): Great little getaway - Ambience was awesome. Staff were very nice. Definitely recommend for solo or group getaways. Onsen was very nice and has an outdoor section with ocean views too. Rooms don't have personal toilet/showers. Breakfast cost extra and was a little overpriced for what was available.
- Juleen (8/5): Great place to stay along the Mishinoku trail. - The location was right on the Mishinoku trail, beautiful ocean views and peaceful. The staff were wonderful. Classic 1960’s Japanese hotel. Very clean. Indoor outdoor onsen. Like other reviews have stated it’s a bit worn.
- Jessy (10/5): Onsen, coastal view, secluded, bliss - Loved my relaxing stay here. Onsen, coastal view, friendly staff. I don't eat seafood but it looks like their restaurant has a terrific menu No grocery stores nearby
- Florence (9/5): Superb - The staff was very friendly and the food was delicious. The room was spacious and we could enjoy the view of the sea. The onsen was very enjoyable. The Ryokan is a bit old and could need some renovation. There isn't much to do around there of you're on foot.
- Ali (10/5): Great Hotel Experience - The baths there were lovely. It felt a little like the Japanese The Shining, but it was a really fun experience. The hotel is a bit dated but the rooms were clean and the ocean views from the room were stunning. I would like to go back again someday. We arrived at night so the location was a bit hard to find. There were no lights on to guide us in, but the parking lot was large and the staff was very friendly. Also if you're not okay using a public bath, this is not the place for you, there are no private washrooms or showers.
- Kumi (8/5): Very good -
- Matan (8/5): Very good -
- Rundquist (8/5): Very good -
- Maximilian (9/5): Superb -
- Roselyn (8/5): Very good -
- Bart (9/5): The hotel is splendid! - The breakfast and communal bath were wonderful. The view from my room in the morning was amazing. The futon was comfortable. I prefer a private toilet rather than a shared one.
