• Charlotte (9/5): - Wir haben 2 Nächte dort verbracht und uns wohl gefühlt. Die Zimmer sind einfach aber haben alles, was man braucht und die Gastgeber sind sehr freundlich. Das Frühstück ist reichhaltig und wurde auf unseren Wunsch extra früh morgens (6 Uhr) zubereitet.

• Carolin (8/5): Absolut empfehlenswert! - Es ist zwar alles sehr einfach, aber das Personal ist sehr herzlich, flexibel und zuvorkommend. Einfach toll! Man sitzt gemeinsam mit anderen Gästen und Gastgebern im Aufenthaltsbereich bei lokaler Küche in gemütlicher Atmosphäre zusammen. Die Zimmer sind einfach eingerichtet, aber ausreichend. Man muss es einfach mögen.
• Iryna (10/5): Awesome place, great host - We highly recommend this place. It’s incredibly comfortable, quiet, peaceful, and cozy, with a charming style. The breakfast was excellent, and the host was exceptionally helpful and accommodating, going above and beyond to assist us. When our rental car arrived late, we were allowed to stay longer. And when we struggled with the manual transmission, Emanuel even stepped in as our driving instructor. We couldn’t thank him enough. None.
• Iryna (10/5): Excellent place - We returned to this homestay a week later because we enjoyed our first stay so much. Once again, the room was clean, the shower had hot water, the custom-made soap was wonderful, and the breakfast was excellent. This time, our rental car wouldn’t start in the morning, and Emanuel kindly helped us get it going. We’re very grateful - many thanks! Nothing.

• Claire (10/5): A real find! - Emmanuel ( son of John) and Lucy are fabulous hosts, the Accomodation was really comfortable, they are both really friendly and helpful, and gave us great advice. Lucy’s food is the best we’ve had in Tanzania. Emmanuel is super cool and knowledgeable and has built the homestead himself with his late father John. There are banana, coffee, avocado and mango growing in the garden and we had a lovely view from the bar in the evening of sun setting over the mountain. The Accomodation is really near ngorogoro crater, and after a long day on safari we came home to Lucy’s home cooking. Even the beans we had for breakfast were grown here. It’s also really safe and quiet at night apart from the sounds of the wildlife and farm animals near by. Wonderful! Can’t fault it

• Ondrej (9/5): Superb - Emanuel - he's the son of the late John, the founder of this place - is a cheerful good-hearted person, great guide with many tips and helpful notes, and an excellent host. Don't forget to get him to tell you the history of Emanuel's life and this homestay, it well describes what he's like. Besides, his staff is so nice guys helping him. This place is almost like an oasis, considering the tough surroundings. We enjoyed the stay as we met and talked to many local people in the area on our walks and it was fun. Consider visiting the waterfalls. Emanuel will tell you. Otherwise, safari in Tanzania is especially pricey, you may know that already, but you can be assured that Emanuel knows how to set the best option for you as he knows about these things and the wildlife a ton of information. He used to work as a safari guide too for some long time.

• Harri (8/5): Nice room outside Karatu - Son of John and his team are very welcoming. They helped us plan our trip to Ngorogoro Crater. They also relocated the fridge, because of problems with the power supply at the old place. So we could enjoy cold beer on a very quiet place outside. We enjoyed goid service

• Lord (7/5): Good - Nice homestay / B & B, at the lap of nature. Very accommodating and helpful staff Good value for money. A bit far off from Karatu town. Cooking arrangements (for dinner) has to be made inside the campus.

• Lynn (7/5): Definitely know it’s a budget hotel. - The staff helped us when we had a problem with our vehicle. Incredibly difficult to find. Locals didn’t even know it. Someone had to call to give directions to a boda boda driver to lead us there. The rooms have very large windows looking on to the garden & restaurant area but the only curtains are sheer. Doesn’t block light or provide privacy.

• Les (6/5): Simple home stay for a cheep price - The outdoor sitting area under the canopy and overall surroundings. Friendly staff and the owner, Emanuel. The price. None
• David (1/5): Bad - We were met with a kind staff member. It is not a homestay. There is no family living there and the area was not clean and didn't have any amenities. Unprofessional host that proceeded to party with friends at the property. After leaving, the host cancelled the booking claiming that we didn't stay there. We tried to arrange a safari with the host which was also completely unprofessional and chaotic. Not recommended at all.
• Athir (9/5): Oasis in a busy town - Really nice vibe. The rooms are a good size. A couple of good area to relax in the garden compound. Note, is located in a traditional village just outside of town. This is a plus but you need to have your own transport or take a taxi there

• Marinos (10/5): Wonderful experience - Everything was just perfect. The whole family greeted us wholeheartedly. The rooms were great. The location as well and then the food... It was super delicious, the coffee was outstanding. I would always come back! Nothing, everything was perfect.
• Guillaume (10/5): Ideal place for Safaris, calm, cosy, sunset point with great hosts - We really loved this new place for many reasons! The family, a young couple with 2 children - a super cute little girl that played with our daughter & a cute and chill baby girl. Emannuel and Lucy make a beautiful job. Both speak good English and Emmanuel even lived in Europe for a while. It's confortable, you feel home, it's calm, you're not cold at night, it's cosy and they are open to any recommendations if needed. You have hot water (which is not often the case here in Africa) and most of all, you really feel they like people and put their heart in hosting you. The food is good, everything is home made. We even had organic vegetables from their friends garden, and a good breakfast. As well, we needed a supplement bed for our baby girl, the bed was ready when we arrived,and Lucy even helped us to give her a basin for a bath etc They also welcome people in their place for any humanitary project in their village, and aim at helping people around,which really think amazing. The view from Karatu is perfect as the sunset is in front of you. And, they will even add a jacuzzi later to chill after a Safari day. The location is really close to the Safari areas. We did not only found here good hosts and a great place, but also new friends and we will come back for sure in their place when we come back to Karatu Perfect place to have a good night, and great price with all included Nothing
