Guest Reviews
- Dermot (10/5): -
- Melvyn (8/5): Comfortable. Cheaper than city centre. 15 minute walk to Yoker rail station. - Clean room, comfortable bed, tea/coffee/biscuits and drinks in room. Lots of channels on tv. Good to have use of kitchen. Although shared bathroom, never had to wait. Good shower. By train line, could hear trains during day but didn't keep me awake at night. Although a 15 minute walk from Yoker rail station, I knew this before booking. Was a bit chilly in early May, but central heating had been switched off.
- Shaun (7/5): - Quiet neighborhood, good access to town. No room cleaning.
- Siu (5/5): Harbury Lodge - Freedom to cook. Ease of parking The toaster was dirty. Lack of washing liquid. Lack of cutlery and some were not clean. Only one towel was provided for a couple and we had to make a phone call to ask for another but only got an answer machine, had to resort to leave a message which wasn't looked at until morning, having said that, an extra towel was promised but never appeared, had to leave another message
Sharing bathroom .
- Abbad (1/5): - Stinky property.
No clean room
No clean washroom
No warm water for bath
2/10
- craig frame (2/5): - No heating.no lightbulb in lamp
- suzanne (7/5): Adequate for what we wanted and the price was fair value for what was provided. - Easy to access, location suited for my visit to family, parking on drive, fridge and tea/coffee making facilities and biscuits in room, toiletries also in the bathroom if needed. Room 1 was the king size double bed with private bathroom, a little noisy from the trains (and felt vibrations), quite cold in the room, the duvet and bed were warm and comfy though.
I think bedrooms to the front of the house would be better.
- Arsh Deep (9/5): -
- Paulo (4/5): - Localização Forte cheiro a tabaco
- Samuel (4/5): Basic accommodation would’ve done the job if the pincode wasn’t scratched onto bathroom. Woudnt go back other guest was - Beds were comfy Pincode to room was scratched into the shared bathroom, it was removed once host was notified however I also asked for the pin to be changed to ease the mind as any other guests currently staying could’ve seen the code an accessed my room. Which wasn’t done and they didn’t get back to me when I requested this.
- Tope (10/5): Decent Night Rest - I like the location of the property, the surrounding was clean and quiet. The property itself was decent and my room was comfortable enough for what I needed it for. There were so many instructions around the house from the front door all the way to upstairs. Some particular information at the front door advising to return keys into the box etc. There's no keys to return into the box and rather you need codes to enter the house and your room. I found this quite confusing. Perhaps informations that are not relevant anymore can be removed. It took me almost 10 minutes to figure out I will not be using keys but just codes, so please remove any outdated information so to avoid confusion.
- Terry (1/5): Beware of the neighbour in the adjoining property, the altercation from her was terrifying. - Didn't stay as it was unsafe to stay here. After parking outside Harbury Lodge, we had an altercation from the neighbour who came banging on the door, as my son had parked momentarily when dropping me at the accommodation and had very slightly overlapped her driveway gate entrance.
This woman was out of control, shouting abusive swearing language, my son was terrified and shaken by this altercation. We drove away and phoned the owner of the property as we were too afraid to return here.
The ultimatum given to us was to claim a refund from booking.com but we weren't allowed to leave a bad review if we took a refund. Or they could arrange a patrol of the area of the accommodation overnight but we didn't feel safe with this. They also checked their other accommodation locally but there was no alternative accommodation available on this night.
This person we phoned from the accommodation company was very kind and helpful and did everything he could but he was only relaying what management told him.
We didn't claim a refund so that we could leave this review and warn others to be aware of what happened to us.
- Angus (6/5): Good value for money - Good value for money Guest in the other room was smoking weed in their room, and causing annoyance as he was shouting a lot from being high. As a result house stunk of smoke, and I was frightened the other guest would do something to me as I asked him to shut up as he was being too loud. Feedback would be, someone needs to come in everyday to check the property, install smoke detectors in the rooms, put cameras in the communal areas and ask guests if there’s any anti social behaviour going on. So because of this bad experience I wouldn’t stay again.

- Abbie (10/5): Perfect - Absolutely amazing. Got want you paid for plus the best part was the homely feeling. I cant recommend this place enough. Nothing was brilliant
- Tobi (9/5): - Everything! Noting!
- James (7/5): I work close by at weekends and really am in property to sleep so fix not make use of all amenities. The trains at night - Convenient to my workplace. Large house. Access via codes. Kitchen fully kitted out Trains were noisy. Heating could be higher. Tv did not work but if I had contacted owner I know he would have sorted
- Mario (9/5): Clean and comfortable - Fridge in the room. Beautiful bedding. Nice TV. Tea and coffee and kettle in room. Clean bathroom and kitchen also.
Nice furniture. Parking a little down the road, but lots of space and free. Felt safe.
- Santosh (6/5): -
- MUSKU (6/5): -
- HOSSEIN (9/5): -
- Robert (1/5): Booked for one of our team. HE REFUSED TO STAY....!!! Definitely can better for the money - Booked for one of our team to stay as working in the area, he refused to stay so a waste of money !!
Spoke to owner who was extremely defensive The room facilities, or lack of ! people outside, felt uncomfortable, did not feel safe to leave van with equipment outside the property therefore left and did not stay
- Andrew (8/5): Great stay - We all had a great stay. Would definately stay there again. As there was 7 of us it would have been good to have some fold up chairs. At night we all wanted to sit round the table and play games. There was four big chairs round the dining table.
- STEPHEN (7/5): I did not expect Harbury Lodge to be a normal house, but inside is really nice. - I had the deluxe room No1, the bed was very comfortable and the room was clean.
- STEPHEN (3/5): WHEN YOU WORK AWAY FROM HOME YOU WANT TO SLEEP DID NOT GET ANY - I BOOKED FOR 3 NIGHTS ROOM 4 YOU COULD HEAR EVERY SOUND POSSIBLE FROM ABOVE TUESDAY NIGHT NO SLEEP AT ALL 00.30 SOME ONE CHECKED IN 0.300 SOME ONE LEFT 0.430 SOME ONE CKED IN I BELIVE THERE ARE TIMES TO CHECKI IN WHICH I FOLLOWED SO I LEFT WEDNESDAY MORNING AND BOOKED IN AT GLASGOW AIRPORT THE HOUSE AS BEEN CONVERTED TO ROOMS AT POOR STANDARD THE FLOORS CREEK EVEN WHEN PEOPLE JUST WAILK ON THEM NOT STAY AGIAN PLUS ONE BATHROOM AS ABOVE
- Graham (1/5): Avoid this property unless you are absolutely desperate for a roof over your head. - Not applicable This accommodation is mis-sold. It's not a lodge, it's a HMO run by Group 4.
The property is actually a 3 bedroom semi on a housing estate in Glasgow. There were notices inside about avoiding anti social behaviour as it upsets the neighbours. The booking said the room had a private bathroom, but it was a shared facility. We didn't stay and booked into a Premier Inn. We have contacted our credit card provider to try and secure a refund.
- Olusegun (1/5): -
- Rossana (7/5): Nice comfortable rooms for quick getaway - It was affordable for the weekend Rooms got too hot, only one bathroom per 4 rooms but still good stay
- lauren (7/5): - Good location Cars were blocked in on by other cars. And very noisy
- Lesley (5/5): I would not rebook due to cleanliness and floor board noise the walls are paper thin and you hear absolutely everything - Location and ground floor. My room was comfortable. The people that greeted me on arrival were very friendly and accommodating. My bedding smelled of foist like it hadn't been dried properly. I slept on the top of the bedding as I brought my own blanket, no pillow protectors on pillows, I had my own pillow.
Woken up due to noisy floor boards above every morning between 5 & 6am and all evening till around 11pm very loud. Banging of doors of all people coming and going especially up and down the stairs, very noisy. Bathroom shower screen, tiles skirting boards, black mould around bath and handles.
Internal doors filthy especially around handles; kitchen cupboards, cooker, tiles, sink and windows and mirrors dirty.
In general the cleaning is just not great and I actually didn't cook once due to this I stayed in my room. I didn't use any utensils.
I understand many people stay in the shared space and are responsible to tidy up after themselves but the house in general is just not clean, dated and could do with a paint and deep clean.

- Chris (5/5): It did the job but tv remote was a big let down, thanks Mikka for NOT answering my calls. - The property was warm, bed was comfortable, shower was good and everything was in the kitchen should you need it. Our room was right at the front door so you could hear people coming and going and being another three rooms were upstairs on person was on their phone or web chat all of our first night, when we got into our room we had a tv but no remote, we searched every where i then rang the staff to ask where it was Mikka told me it should be in the room, i assured him it wasn't and he was going to follow up calls with cleaners ect and get back to me, he didn't so i rang him back he told me he couldn't do anything now but would look into it, we arrived back the next day and still no remote, Mikka would not answer my calls, absolutely shocking from a management team who are their to help and solve any issues, on returning for the third and final night a new remote was eventually left outside our door but still no call of apologies or explanation !
- Dean (9/5): -
- CAN (7/5): not bad - bed is soft and temperature is warm. Smell in room is not very good.it’s strange
- Edmonds (7/5): -
- Lindsay (7/5): - Clean Shared bathroom was upstairs
- Brian (10/5): -
- Imaghodor (1/5): -
- Anthony (6/5): Not a lodge, but clean. - The rooms was very clean and the bed was comfortable.
There was a fridge kettle and some treats.
The room was clean, the bathroom was clean and had good facilities. A lodge it is not. The housing estate wasn't the most pleasant.
An apartment, it is not.
It is a 3 bedroom house in a cul de sac with the lounge made into a bedroom, creating 4 separate rooms. It was a bit daunting having strangers in house with me. I was expecting a separate apartment not a bedsit.
Feel a bit duped, but I guess you get what you pay for.
- Augustina (8/5): -
- Dean (8/5): - Rooms were very clean and facilities were great
- brian (10/5): - It was warm clean and good facilities Nothing to dislike only other residents coming in early hours making a noise
- Jiahang (10/5): -
- Gray (7/5): -
- Karel (7/5): -
- mccabe (6/5): Ok in a pinch - Room was very tight, bed is right up against the wall. Every time you move in bed, your arm slaps into the wall. Internet was also spotty
- Isabel (2/5): This is a poorly maintained and mislabelled four-bedroom house. - Comfortable bed.
Provision of toiletries.
Easy parking.
WiFi and TV. Harbury Lodge is not a lodge. It is a three-bedroom house located in a housing estate that has been converted into a four-bedroom house by using the lounge as an additional bedroom. There is no lounge.
The kerb appeal is shocking! The front garden is bad enough, but the rear – well, that’s a jungle.
Entry is via a key safe and then a combination lock on your bedroom door. The inside of the house was dark – every curtain was closed, and it was daylight. Bizarre!
I opted to pay extra for the en-suite room. This is at the back of the house and has the railway as a neighbour. It is incredibly noisy with trains trundling past, and I was sleep-deprived.
The wash hand basin in the en-suite hasn’t been secured properly. Toiletries are available, and a couple of bath towels. However, the floor in the en-suite is so badly finished that the water doesn’t fall to the drain, so I had to use one of the towels as a bath mat. And the Expelair doesn’t work.
The bed is comfortable and the linen is clean. The en-suite is poorly finished – grout residue is shocking.
There is a travel kettle, two sachets of coffee, four milks, sugar and a kid’s plastic cup! No teaspoons or tea bags. There was a can of Diet Coke, a can of Pepsi, and a couple of sweet treats, which I enjoyed.
The TV and Wi-Fi were good. However, the TV isn’t connected to an aerial, so you have to stream everything.
There is a hairdryer, an ironing board and an iron.
On booking.com, they describe this as a Bed and Breakfast. It is not. It is more of an HMO – you fend for yourself. I felt that the kitchen needed a deep clean so I opted not to use it.
This was a last-minute booking after being let down, and I rushed into it.
I wouldn’t stay here again.
- somerville (3/5): -
- Moyse (5/5): - Room was clean and tidy, bit small but had a fridge in and comfortable bed with a tele. Perfect for people working away Thr smell of people smoking green upstairs, people slamming doors all night.
- Wisdom (10/5): - Beautiful place by all standards. I will always choose to sleep over in this apartment whenever I’m in Glasgow
- Toby (4/5): Really bad en-suite in the biggest room. - Location and parking were very useful. Our room smelled like damp on arrival, which we found out was due to the en-suite wet room flooding out the door whenever the shower was used! Our friends’ room also reeked of cigarettes…
- Sean (8/5): I use your other property on culbin drive and also earl street. 3 pleasant places to stay. - Clean and tidy. Good bus link to town. I personally liked the sound of the trains when I stayed in room 1. Lulled me off to sleep.
Good value for money. Nothing. At the price, nothing more could be expected.
- Plain (1/5): - Nothing On arrival there was no-one there then when I called the number on the email it rang out or was hung up. Neighbours then said they would contact the owner.
When I did manage to talk to someone they where rude and said I hadn't check my email properly after which I had to sync my name my email my reference number yet again for them to send me the proper "KEY SAFE CODE + THE CODE TO MY ROOM "
To be honest this is an HMO not a BMB
Absolutely disgusted with this also it is not in the location it claims to be it is in Yolker
I would remove this from you site as it is detrimental to your good name. I could write more but I don't think you want a 3 page essay
- Matt (1/5): Book a proper hotel. It's not worth it. - Nothing You can't just hear the trains you feel them. The kids are really noisy. Constant bad smell in the place despite almost every window being open, all that done was attract flies. 4 people sharing 1 bathroom just doesn't work. You can hear everyone in every room. We paid for 2 individual rooms and received 1 key. In my opinion just pay for the hotel it is near, saving £30 wasn't worth losing an en suite.
- Shakeel (1/5): Absolutely disaster - Nothing was awful and disappointed with service Drinks was left like soft drink tin dented and expired
- Sebastian (8/5): -
- Amila (8/5): It was okay - Big kitchen was useful and get in the house was easy. Rooms are little bit small but its okay for a one night.
- Anne (6/5): - Cheap place to stay for one night. The bed was a nice size, and the mattress was comfortable. The presentation of the property was poor. The kitchen was dirty and needed a good clean of all surfaces and inside of cupboards. The appliances were dirty.
The backyard was unusable as overgrown with grass and rubbish. The sliding backdoor in the dining room was padlocked shut.
The ensuite bathroom in our king room was poorly tiled with grout dust all over the walls where it had not been finished off properly. The hand basin was loose and wobbly. It was functional but very rough bathroom.
- Graziano (9/5): - Cucina ben fornita Non semplicissimo da teovare
- Grace (4/5): Was not the best experience. - It was a reasonable distance from the airport
The snacks in the room were a lovely thought and the bed was comfortable although the bedding has a funny smell. Access to the key was late. I asked for flexibility and this was refused the day before we set off and then we had to wait longer than agreed time to get the key. Bath was blocked and we had to unblock. It should also be brought to guests attention that there is only one toilet upstairs.
- Mira (3/5): - The bed sheets were not changed. The shower was clogged. The windows were filthy. There was a terrible noise because of the trains passing by. Overall a really bad experience.
- Anne-Mari Luik (10/5): - Nice clean room with private bathroom. Would visit again. Great value for money.
Good that you could use kitchen as well.
- Lelde (7/5): Good - Very good instructions for checking inn the house was reasonably clean for the price u pay I liked that home to home feeling as we needed to park our recovery truck and trailer the location was perfect for us
I would definitely stay again it’s a nice place
- Andrew (8/5): Very good -
- Najam (9/5): Superb -
- Panduka (10/5): Exceptional - Fully Cleaned and easy to access.
- Shannon (8/5): Very good - Able to use kitchen, enough items to cook there was also cereal and oatmeal for the guests. The house itself was very clean. Having a fridge in our room was great and there were a few snacks in our room as well. We were able to park directly in front of the house in their driveway. The fridge and freezer in the kitchen did not work. We had meat in there that spoiled a we didn't realize it wasn't cold when we put it in and left. The back yard decking was sketchy. The neighbors have quite a few kids who run around constantly outside until the early hours of the morning. The guests that were there when we were were very nice but you can hear their every movement as in sure they could hear ours. As you would expect in a shared stay place.
The bedroom doors were a pain to get into as the code didn't always work. Front door needed a key to get in and out.. also a hassle considering we had 2 rooms.
- Fiona (7/5): Good -
- Trevor (6/5): Pleasant -
- Jack (10/5): Exceptional -
- Margaret (6/5): Not the best but not expensive. - The bed was comgortable Mirtors were smeared. Wet room was a bit meh, slthough yhe toilet was clean enough.
- Oladimeji (8/5): Very good - Serene environment Difficult access to city centre
- Margaret (6/5): Pleasant -
- Steven (6/5): Pleasant -
- Thankgod (5/5): When it was time for me to check in, I had to wait under the rain and kept calling the staffs to come and open the door - It was spacious Toilet wasn’t neat
- Greg (4/5): Cheap and cheerful, but with compromises - Very cheap, bedroom was very clean (didn’t use kitchen so cannot comment on that), bedding was unbelievably comfortable, having a TV, fridge, kettle and soft drinks provided in the room was much appreciated. The floorboards are incredibly creaky, and if you are in the ground floor room you will hear every single movement above… including for me getting woken by what sounded like some very enthusiastic late night passion at around 0300! How much this will be an issue will depend heavily on who’s also staying in the property, if you fall asleep easily and aren’t easily roused you might not notice, but in my case wearing AirPods was essential!
I would also say that in my experience the bathroom was left in a horrible state, but unfortunately I think this is far more a reflection of the other residents as opposed to the property management. I feel for the owners having to put up with residents not paying due respect to other residents or the property owners by leaving facilities in a hygienic state.
- Krzysztof (2/5): N/A - Nothing to like .. place is very poor and you feel like be in homeless council home Nothing to like .. place is very poor and you feel like be in homeless council home
- Kelly (6/5): Pleasant - Comfortable room Needs repairs to house! Not keen on sharing with others you don’t know in small house as can hear everyone
- Varga (7/5): Good -
- Ian (8/5): Comfortable - No breakfast as not part of plan Nothing particularly
- William (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lorraine (1/5): Another place to avoid - nothing Beware listings where the property's photo is taken from a great distance - there's a reason for that. This one is in a working-class neighbourhood, not a bad thing in itself, but it's 3 miles from the middle of nowhere - I had to ride a bus for 30 min. from downtown to get to it. I had visions of a middle-aged couple renting out their spare room for extra income. When I rang the doorbell, no answer, which I thought odd. Then I noticed the 2 gizmos with the 4-digit numeric gears - this told me that it's absentee landlords renting out rooms. Nevertheless, I knocked on the door a few times, hoping another renter could help me out. After I pounded on the door with my fist and still got no answer, I gave up, picked up my bags and walked away. Half a block from the house I decided to go back and take photos so that others can see what the reason for that long-distance photo. This is when I got an email with directions on how to get the key; I guess someone was literally woken up to the fact that I hadn't yet received them. But the directions made no sense - it was an alpha-numeric code and the rotors only have numbers (I checked). So I again gave up, walked the 3 blocks back to the main street, caught a bus back into town and found alternative accommodation, at my own expense (I'd paid for the room before I left on my trip).
- Paterson (10/5): Exceptional - The lay out was quite impressive lay out for just a home really nice and clean will definitely will come back to stay
- Paterson (10/5): Exceptional -
- Fabiana (8/5): Overall, good place to stay - Cleanness, communication, facilities Missing kitchen, micro-wave, later check-out
- Andrew (7/5): Good -
- Mariya (9/5): Affordable stay - The location of the premise was good, near the main road. There are shops nearby.
The room was cozy and clean, providing a comfortable stay. The hosts were gracious, offering snacks and drinks, and the kitchen was well-equipped with everything we needed. The check-in instructions were clear and straightforward, allowing us to access the room with ease. Kids were running around the house and making noise very early in the morning.
- Daniel (10/5): Exceptional -
