Guest Reviews
- Alanna (7/5): Ok place - Comfortable beds, shared kitchen, toilet paper in bathrooms. You can leave bags in the hostel before checking in, though the time must be CLEARLY discussed and agreed upon with the property beforehand, as there is no reception. While you can leave bags at the property before check-in (based on the previously agreed-upon time of arrival), you cannot be at the property at all, in any area, until 2pm check-in. In addition, there’s no soap in the bathrooms, even in private rooms, and the water in the showers is warm at best.
- Bastian (8/5): Very good -
- Epi (10/5): The place to be in Samaipata - Samailandia was exactly what we needed. A great atmosphere thanks to the lovely host. We extended our stay several times and enjoyed every minute.
- Roy (10/5): Exceptional -
- Payton (9/5): Superb - Very quiet and comfortable hostel. She was extremely helpful and kind.
- Eugene (9/5): Cosy, chill place in Samaipata - Our room was simple, but cosy. While there isn't a fan, the nights are generally cool. Just need to beware of the mosquitos. Good water pressure in the shower.
Love the garden, which is nice to chill in. Shared kitchen is available to cook basic meals too.
Location-wise, it was only a short walk to the central plaza and the old market. Samaipata is a small town so it was easy to walk everywhere. There was one night in which the neighbours played loud music until past 2am, but this isn't the property's fault. Otherwise, it was really peaceful at night (quiet hours after 10pm).
- James (9/5): Superb - Beautiful little courtyard and Maria the host was very nice
- Prisca (3/5): Uncomftable - Location and Baggage storage The beds are absolutely uncomfortable. So hard and there are lots of dents in the mattresses. Also, there is no ladder for the top bunk. The room is super small without anything (lockers or garbage cans). Also, there were no mosquito nets and we were really eaten up by mosquitoes. It was also extremely noisy with dogs barking. The nights were really terrible. The shared bathroom was very small, had lots of creepy crawlies and was never cleaned during our stay. Maria is friendly but absolutely not helpful in (emergency) situations or in terms of simple tips. We didn't feel like welcome guests but more like money payers, disliked and quite often really just an annoyance.
- Chris_aroundtheworld (8/5): Very good -
- Omar (9/5): More than i spected - Heaven on earth! the 2 gardens are full of green nature and colorfull flowers.
The dorm I stayed in was clean and the bed very comfortable.
- Henrysoy (8/5): Very good - Nice place and quiet to be in few days
- Guenter (9/5): Superb - Very nice cosy place, lot of green and awesome host!
Nice garden with fresh and free herbs.
Host is super friendly and very helpful, also it's possible to get water refill for 1bs for 1l. We could use the facility after check out and also leave luggage there. Mattresses were saggy and not so comfortable in our 3 bed dorm but it was OK for 2 days.
- J (10/5): Exceptional - Excellent vibe, chilled, friendly and good location. Loved it!
- Eloisa (10/5): Just wonderful! - Great location and wonderful in house host. Clean, comfortable and nice courtyard. Cheap laundry service also. She gave good recommendations for transport and taxi companies- we ended up using Expreso for the day to take us to local attractions. Highly recommend!
- Sabrina (7/5): Good - nice location in samaipata for a budget traveller.
the rooms are very simple

- Kalkan (9/5): Superb -
- Christine (9/5): Superb - The two gorgeous gardens, the very friendly owner, the price, pretty much everything Check in only after 2 p.m.; no water due to the wildfires
- Susan (7/5): Good - Good location not far from sqiare Nice hot shower Good kitchen Mosquitoes very bad You have to close room door early then gets hot (a small fan would help)Can't sit outside at dusk Even the noise from outside in the room is bad
- Gregory (10/5): Samailandia is a lovely hostel! Maria is a great host and the hostel is very peaceful. It’s very close to the centre of - Samailandia is a lovely hostel! Maria is a great host and the hostel is very peaceful. It’s very close to the centre of Samaipata and the facilities are good. We arrived late on a night bus and Maria made checking in super easy
- Gloria (10/5): Exceptional - I absolutely loved my stay at casa Sayana. It is a true gem! Maria is a wonderful host, extremely helpful and a real pleasure to be around. My favorite part of her cozy and peaceful place is the outdoor kitchen, which is equipped with anything you may need. The overall vibes of the place are immaculate and I would totally be back if visiting Samaipata again. Look no further, this is the place to stay if you want tranquility and peaceful atmosphere! Everything during my stay was great!
- Anastasia (10/5): Exceptional - Very nice hostess!
- Samuel (9/5): Superb - Really friendly owner, very accommodating and let us check in early after a long overnight trip. The location is good. Shower is hot, but takes a bit of getting used to to get the temperature right. WiFi was a bit weak but it was probably just that our room was the furthest from the router.
- Bourdon (9/5): Very nice stay - Cosy and very cute garden. Maria is a super nice host & the dorm room is really cheap which is likeable
