Guest Reviews
- Brett (10/5): Perfect house to enjoy my stay in Scotland - Extremely high standard of decoration and kitchen is very well stocked with everything you would need to make your stay complete. N/A
- Derek (10/5): Lovely, comfortable house in a great location. - Great location in a quiet street yet within a few minutes walk of all the amenities. Beautifully renovated house which has been maintained to a high standard. Lovely, light rooms and a small but pretty courtyard garden. Good quality bed linen and towels and comfortable beds. Very well equipped kitchen with thoughtful touches like sufficient teabags and dishwasher tablets to last for the duration of our stay. Kirkcudbright is a charming town and makes a great base for exploring the surrounding areas.
- Alison (9/5): -
- Joanne (10/5): Lovely Kirkubricht - Great location, beautifully furnished and very clean. Lovely to have some outside space to enjoy the fabulous weather we had. Nothing.
- Bethan (10/5): -
- Veronica (10/5): Delightful cottage in a lovely little town. - The location was ideal, very close to the town and easy to walk around. Lovely quiet area. The owners had thought of everything you might need for a self catering break. There was ample crockery, glasses, serving dishes, dishwasher and cooking appliances etc. The cottage is extremely comfortable and finished to a very high standard. It is spotlessly clean. Ample information was available about the cottage and surrounding area. I wished we had time to tackle the Treasure Trail. Hopefully next time. I don't have any negative feedback.
- Philip (10/5): Highly recommended - We were so impressed by this lovely spacious house, immaculately clean, with a bathroom on each of the first and second floors and a downstairs toilet. The kitchen was amazingly well equipped, everything you need and lots more! The cottage was very cosy even on a very cold weekend. Information on the cottage was excellent, as was communication. Everything was perfect
- Linda (10/5): A beautifully furnished and thoughtfully equipped home-from-home in a perfect location - Gorgeous property, managing to be spacious but cosy and comfortable. Extremely well-equipped kitchen and thoughtful touches throughout. Beautifully decorated and furnished, and it really felt like a home from home. Very well located in a quiet street close to everything you need. We loved our stay! Really can't think of anything.

Brilliant location and really lovely hosts, we had a fantastic weekend meeting up with family. Nothing to dislike.

The owners have really thought of everything.

- Margaret (9/5): Apart from weather we enjoyed our stay. - Location of property and cleanliness of house.
Well equipped and nicely decorated. Chairs in dining room, though in good condition, not very comfortable. No live television.
- Shirley (10/5): Exceptional - Immaculately clean, comfy, great location - every detail thought of - one of the best holiday cottages we have stayed in
- Anne (10/5): The best self catering accomodation we have ever stayed in - Serendipity is an amazingly well renovated town house in the middle of Kirkcudbright, with access to all the delights that wonderful town holds. Ian and Louise have created and maintain to the highest standards, a self catering home from home which is spotlessly clean, exceedingly well equipped, stylish, comfortable and a delight to stay in. We already plan to return!
- Kathryn (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful, spotlessly clean and extremely well appointed property in a great location. The kitchen had everything you could possibly need. When we had an issue with the heating the host responded and sorted it out immediately. We would definitely book this property again. Nothing
- Kay (10/5): Gorgeous cottage, so comfortable and well equipped. -
- Robert (10/5): Exceptional -
- Yvonne (10/5): Three perfect days hunkering down in the depths of winter. A perfect place to cook, eat together, play games and watch m - Everything you could wish for and of the finest quality. Warm, beautifully decorated and very spacious and restful. Nothing at all, we all loved it.
- Peter (10/5): Exceptional - Extremely well equipped comfortable house
- William (10/5): Perfect. -
- Jennifer (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nat (9/5): Lovely Central Home - House was spotless clean and fully equipped with all essentials, beds were very comfortable, good location centrally in town and just a short walk to shops. It had all the little extra things that were a lovely touch; tissues in every room, airfresheners in the toilets, games and puzzles and even a box of yarn. Loved these things. The shower in the main toilet (middle) didn't get hot enough. The pressure wasn't great either. This was really disappointing as either we all had to use the upstairs shower or some of us just had to cope with warmish water. Not ideal when there's 4-6 of you trying to get ready.
The bottom left cooker hob wasn't working at all, which is not ideal if you are cooking a big meal or big morning fry-up.
The batteries in the TV remote were done and no spare AAA to find around the house.
- Judith (9/5): Superb -
- Norma (10/5): Fabulous holiday accommodation to complement a wonderful long weekend exploring Kirkcudbright. - Ideal location - quiet but central. Beautifully furnished accommodation, well appointed kitchen with everything you could possibly need in a holiday home, lovely outdoor space to relax (& as weather was kind able to eat al fresco)
- Aidan (10/5): Exceptional - Absolutely fabulous house. Genuinely the best I have ever stayed in.
We came as usual, our child and grandparents. The setup worked really well for us with all of us in different rooms. We never felt on top of each other. In good weather we loved the rear garden.
The Serendipity was immaculate, every facility we could have needed. The location in the town centre is just perfect and ideal for nearby restaurants and festivities in the town. Close to the swimming pool and playground as well.
For a small town, Kircudbright really does well in this regard which keeps us coming back. We used to camp but with the little ones now, I expect we will return again on our next visit to Galloway. Really nothing.
- Lucy (10/5): Lovely family time at Serendipity, would love to return - Beautiful place, very comfortable and perfectly maintained Nothing!
- Sue (10/5): Great base for three generation family break - Beautifully renovated and furnished house in great location for Kircudbright art trail. Lovely sunny courtyard garden.
- Marie (9/5): we had a lovely week in a gorgeous house in a beautiful town - Cleanliness, well equipped kitchen, great location, bike storage and charging facilities were excellent, plenty of room and storage. lock on top floor bathroom didn’t work.
- Jennifer (10/5): Gorgeous place already booked again. - With 3 generations in one house we had the space to find our own corners when we needed to and wonderful social spaces to get together.we loved the patio garden and access from the kitchen. The beds and bedding were fantastic and all the furnishings felt comfortable. There was nothing to dislike.Everything was lovely.my mum has mobility issues and would have loved an armchair and a small TV in the dining area but that is just a suggestion not a negative.
- Tim (9/5): Excellent property in an interesting area - Beautifully presented, very clean and in a great location Parking was a bit tight but we coped
- Torbeg (10/5): Excellenty! - Location ideal Not one thing
- Kieron (10/5): Property made us smile whenever we entered it - Superbly equipped and in an excellent location. Sunny courtyard garden a real bonus. Can’t rate it highly enough. Nothing
- Deborah (10/5): Wonderful stay, in a perfect house - A beautiful house, with everything you will need to make your stay perfect. Fabulous location, shops, pubs etc..all within walking distance. The hob, tricky at times to know what pan works with each ring, prehaps labelling the pans would help..
- Kirsten (10/5): Fantastic short break in a wonderful townhouse in heart of Kirkcudbright - Excellent property. Renovated to a high standard, very tastefully furnished and extremely well equipped. Quiet street in centre of Kirkcudbright with plenty parking. Lovely courtyard to sit in when sunny and covered area suitable for bikes. Appreciated the milk and biscuits. Family games, books, maps etc. came in handy too. Nothing
- Ian (10/5): The art of Serendipity! - Serendipty:the occurrence and development of events by chance in a happy or beneficial way according to the dictionary and we couldnt agree more here!
We were very happy on chancing upon this lovely home -the style and lay out of the house was perfect for two "rather weary" couples working too bleddy hard!-batteries totally recharged after 3 lovely days here-a quiet street but close to all that this town has to offer-parking a doddle
We walked thorugh the door and fell in love with the place straight away
Kirkcubright is a smashing little town with a range of shops/cafes/walks/attractions for everyone -would also recommend "Gather at Laggan" as the place to eat locally with amazing views over the Bay
We shall return! That we had to leave! and I could only bring home 12 Scotch Pies!
- Aoife (10/5): Exceptional -
- Hannah (10/5): Exceptional -

- Kate (10/5): Impeccable presentation , spotlessly clean with everything provided of best quality. - Self catered One minor addition of a shaving socket in top floor bathroom would be useful.

- Wood (10/5): Lovely house ideally situated in Kirkcudbright - The house is newly done up and everything looks really nice. There is a lovely kitchen which is extremely well equipped. We were very comfortable in this lovely house. There wasn't anything we didn't like.
- Mike (10/5): Great house, great patio, great place - Loved the location, quiet town. Weather was wonderful. House was brand-new. Everything was good. Clean. Modern. Fantastic patio for the evenings. Need to book dinner in town or get there before 7:45pm
- Christine (10/5): Birthday trip - Beautiful property in a great location. N/A
- Jennifer (10/5): Fantastic! - The house is beautiful, right in the heart of Kirkcudbright, and has clearly been refurbished to a very high standard. The rooms are well appointed and very comfortable.
The garden is a hidden gem and a lovely area to sit with a coffee in the sunshine. Nothing!
