Guest Reviews
- Nikki (10/5): A fabulous place to stay with a wonderful welcoming host - Yet another fabulous stay at Cuisinease. I have been a returning guest for 4 years now, quite simply because it is such a wonderful place to stay. Jacqueline is an amazing host, from the minute you arrive she makes you feel welcome. The house is spotless, the room is so comfortable with everything you could need & it is so peaceful. I could not recommend Cuisinease more highly as a wonderful place to stay. Thanks to Jacqueline for her lovely hospitality. Nothing, everything was perfect!
- Anthony (8/5): - Couldn't figure out how to turn the fridge on.
- Abdul-Rahman (8/5): Enjoyed my stay. Will definitely recommend. - All of it Not applicable
- Kay (10/5): Inviting, very welcoming and comfortable - The property itself was a little dated and not your usual air b&b accommodation but the host more than makes up for that. The house is clean and the bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was incredible. Just little things like the decor and paint work, however, there is clearly a lot of love in the home.
- Dan (10/5): This was the best B&B I have ever stayed in. Jacqueline is a fantastic host. - From arrival to checking out, my experience here was outstanding. Jacqueline immediately made me feel at home.
The room was very comfy, and I had everything I needed. The breakfast was 10/10. Loved my time here.
- Sarah (7/5): -
- Wayne (10/5): My stay was work related and I can’t wait for when I’ll be up there again because I’m definitely staying here again, my - This property was like a home away from home, very welcoming and I was made to feel comfortable as the bed I slept in.
Thank you. I was welcomed with open arms, the bedroom I stayed in felt like I was staying with family, very homely which is more essential when staying away from my own home. Was perfect.
- andrew (10/5): - Pretty much everything about the accommodation was excellent. Jacqueline, the host went above and beyond to make my stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. The room was very well set out, the mattress was firm and comfortable and I had 2 great night's sleep.

- Adam (9/5): Just what we needed for overnight stay whilst attending a local wedding! - Location was very near the wedding venue that we were visiting, host was exceptionally flexible and accommodating (including early check-in and late check-out) and bed was very comfortable.
- Jennifer (10/5): So Warm and Comfortable - Jacqueline is so nice, and her place is so warm and comfortable! I really liked it here and felt right at home. The house is warmly decorated and pretty, and the bed was amazingly comfortable. I had booked the small room, but Jacqueline upgraded me to the larger. She is so thoughtful and really made the place cozy for me upon arrival. There was a small fridge in the room and nice coffee and tea. The tv had the selection of a high end hotel and it is even set to come on at a low volume (so thoughtful). There are some really nice walks around Ollerton related to the Robin Hood legend, and I walked from Ollerton through the Sherwood Heath to Edwinstowe and Sherwood Forest (but you could take a bus). Absolutely nothing
- Gemma (10/5): - Jaqueline was a lovely host, friendly and accommodating. Great location that was close to the wedding venue we went to.
- Cornell (10/5): -
- Joanna (10/5): Beautiful, comfortable relaxing stay - Beautiful room, really comfortable bed. Everything is so thoughtfully done and designed. The host is so welcoming and helpful and beautiful walks nearby in Sherwood Forest and Thoresby Vale Country Park.
- Murray (7/5): -
- John (9/5): - We were made very welcome by Jacqueline, who was friendly as you could wish. Our room was spotlrssly clean and the bed really comfortable. A wonderful breakfast too. We had expected a private bathroom rather than a shared, but that didn't really matter as we were only staying one night, breaking a long journey home. Nothing
- mark Melton (10/5): a home from home, hospitality and genuine kindness 🙂 - A really nice host, very genuine, generous and friendly.
A lovely experience from start to finish.i was made to feel a home from home experience.it can get lonely out on the road and the combination of privacy to unwind after a long drive and the company of a genuine home cooked breakfast and conversation was just what's needed to carry on 🙂👍many thanks I have no reason to say anything negative
- David (10/5): -
- Chloe (10/5): - Jacqueline is amazing
The food she cooked was incredible
She was very accommodating too
- Allen (8/5): -
- Jacob (10/5): - Great host, and a good location only 5 mins from the wedding venue we were attending
- Claire (10/5): - Lovely little home from home with a great host. I definitely gained myself a new auntie who makes a yummy cake! What's not to like?
- Love to travel (6/5): - I booked double room, got single room ( it seems someone after me booked double room!!) but price was unbeatable on Saturday night ,bed was very comfy, the owner was very nice. She send me message with dimensions ( I'm a bit claustrophobic) and offered to cancel without any penalty. i saw the room is not that I booked but this Saturday to book in the last moment the price skyrocketed and I need a place for 1 night only. Parking is in dead end street. The lady is very nice, she froze water for my meds without the problem. Apart from very mini room 2,5x 2.20m aprox a little place on fridge was so dirty. Window silt where is possible to put some stuff also dirty. Linen big and so wrinkled.... I knew that in very narrow corridor to shared bathroom is decorated shelf but it is quite dangerous when you go to the bathroom at night. Have ready slippers, as soon as you step in the lady ask to take your shoes off which is ok.

- Renata (8/5): Very good - Jacqueline, the host, is very friendly and helpful. Her sunny disposition overcomes any obstacles! When my husband and I were running late, she was flexible and offered us dinner - a very tasty chickpea coconut stew with rice. - The room is on the first floor, offering a good space for two. The house is in a quiet neighbourhood. The shared bathroom/WC is not cluttered and well organised.

Jacqueline is a wonderful host, very welcoming on arrival & showing me everything that I might need during my stay. The room is spacious, the bed is very comfy & the room is very well kitted out with TV, fridge, kettle, coffee maker, cups, hanging space. The property is spotless & very well kept. It's my third stay with Jacqueline at Cuisinease & I would definitely stay again next time I'm in the area. Nothing - everything was perfect!
- Dean (10/5): Exceptional -
- David (10/5): Excellent - 100% would stay again. Food, accommodation, welcome all first rate - Delightful - incredibly welcoming and great value N/A
- Anth51ea (8/5): Very reasonably priced dog friendly accomodation - Jackie gave us a warm welcome and provided everything we could need. For us there was too much in the bedroom. Less furniture and a bit more space would have suited us better. Nice touches like a chocolate each on the drinks tray.
- Colin (8/5): Very good - No food taken. In a quiet location, lovely hostess and good value for money.
- Kate (10/5): Exceptional - Jacqueline is truly a wonderful person. She makes you feel very special and the food is exceptional - I even had to bring some of the jerk chicken home. I will stay again when back up that way for work.
- Stuart (6/5): Comfortable, nice host. - Convenient location. Good parking Nothing really, cheap but ok
- Stewart (6/5): no light on stairs is a danger - none too cluttered too much junk everywhere could not even close curtains for all the clutter more is definitely not better
- Bogo (9/5): Superb -
- Julie (10/5): Warm welcome, great location, wonderful food. - Lovely welcome from the host. The food was exceptional, I had two evening meals and two breakfasts, and they were al delicious. I liked my comfortable room, heated blanket and large TV with Netflix.
- Blessing (9/5): Superb - Cool and calm
- Achuo (10/5): It was an amazing experience - The bed, very cozy. The air, very fresh, the neatness, the homely nature of the property, the customer service and clear communication. Nothing
- Mayowa (10/5): Good value for money - Exceptional Service and a cool Environment. Jacqueline was cool and helpful— good value for money. Enjoyed my stay NA
- Watson (8/5): Very good - Perfect for what we needed it for.
- Russ (9/5): Superb -
- Gail (10/5): A hidden gem. - Jaqueline is a wonderful host. The room was exceptional. Spotlessly clean warm and cosy. Everything you could wish for. A really warm welcome. I highly recommend this property. Nothing to report
- Pontian (10/5): Exceptional - The bed was warm and everywhere was clean. The room and environs were smelling nice all through my stay. The host ( Jacqueline) was nice too. N/A
- Colin (1/5): Courier services - Nothing Location no good ,Also cold room tiny, electric blanket which I would never use but had to on this case, had to take shoes off before I could go upstairs, stair had plastic covering also very steep (dangerous) Left early morning as I could not sleep will never ever book into somebody house again couldn't relax Also just to point out I drive all over UK and need to get a good sleep that's me finished
- Mark (10/5): Very welcoming, friendly host who goes the extra mile - Clean, comfortable and warm bed. Need to pay attention to directions sent by Jacqueline, who was exceptionally hospitable.
Jacqueline stayed up late because I was delayed by an motorway queue. Despite my late arrival, she judged correctly I would be better off in a double rather than single bed and proceeded to make up the double room and then next day cooked up a full English breakfast as a bonus, which she did not charge me! Amazing. Location tucked away- ensure follow Jacqueline’s instructions- do not rely on SatNav only
- Michael (7/5): Excellent host nothing to much trouble would recommend to anyone. - Excellent host nothing to much trouble.
Drove us to our function.
Prompt and courteous staff.
Electric blanket was is an excellent idea.
Chocolates and tea making facilities was a good touch. We enjoyed our stay very much.
- Terence (10/5): superb, could'nt fault it - The booking was room only. the property was superb, Jacqeline was friendly and helpful and the stay could not be faulted. The location ideal for me n/a
- Jamie (10/5): Clean, quiet & comfortable - I had a 6 hour drive from Scotland and was looking for somewhere for 1 night, I arrived at 22:00 and left at 06:00. Accommodation was clean, dry, quiet & comfortable. I left at 06:00, too early to catch the breakfast. Totally understandable.
- Chris (10/5): Exceptional -
- Andrew (9/5): Lovely host - quirky property - Jacqueline was delightful and couldn’t have been more helpful. No ensuite
- Keith (10/5): Exceptional - Great host , great food & close to Sherwood Pines Forest
- Dean (10/5): Stepping back in time to an old estate. - The place was a wonderful experience, since I used to live at the Markham estate as a young child in the early 1960s and it has brought happy memories. The service has been great. I plan to make another visit at some point soon. There have been very little changes to the area as far as I know, although the most important was the ending of mining within the location. Ollerton is meant to face some regeneration at some point
- Brian (10/5): Perfect - …i stayed just the one night…everything was perfect…and such a welcoming host…a lovely lady…nicely kept house..breakfast was great…and evening meals are also offered…although I didn't have one…i have no doubt they’d be superb….all in all….can highly recommend this accommodation. Nothing could’ve been better
- Stevy (10/5): A lovely comfortable stay with a welcoming host and great food. - The Host was very welcoming and went out her way to ensure everything was comfortable for me on my arrival. The room was clean, tidy and it had TV, heating set to the right temperature before my arrival and tea, coffee facility and everything in place to make me feel welcome. I had a National Grid training course in the morning and arrived a little late so I was unable to take the opportunity of food but the Host was very welcoming and made sure I had the opportunity if I did want to eat. She also went extra with taking me to the training center as I arrived by train and struggled to book a taxi to the venue. I would highly recommend to anyone needing to attend National Grid Training a center or anyone on a work commitment or leisure stay journey. A very lovely room and very welcoming. Breakfast was lovely and I highly recommend staying here. There was nothing not to like. The room was very clean, tidy and comfortable and the food was amazing!
A decent night sleep for my training day with a lovely breakfast in the morning before she dropped me off due to me not able to arrange transport in time.
- Taofeeq (5/5): Passable -
- Lesleyhall (9/5): Great host, comfortable room with everything we needed. Delicious food. - Jacqueline went to a lot of trouble to make sure the rooms had everything we would need. It's one of the few places I have stayed with decent coffee in the room (a Bosch coffee machine). There were lovely little extras (like chocolates), and she made sure we understood how everything worked (TV, shower, etc). The location was convenient for a function we were attending at the Pumping House in Ollerton (we were able to walk), and there were eating places nearby; although the cooking at Cuisinease was delicious. If there was anything, it was the room size - although this was not really a problem, and to be expected in a private house (and there was plenty of storage space for clothes, cases etc).
- Kev (5/5): Passable -
- Linda (10/5): Lovely cosy bnb . - A lovely cosy bnb . Jackie was very friendly and accommodating. The room had everything I needed . I will definitely stay again. Nothing .....it was all good .
- Richard (9/5): Superb -
- Sam (9/5): Really friendly host, tasty food, good location & good value. - Host was lovely and made me a tasty supper and breakfast. Accommodation and location exactly as needed and great value. Will definitely use again.
- Hayley (10/5): Comfortable stay with great food - Great location, felt so homely and comfortable with lots of lovely touches in the room including a great tv, coffee machine and chocolates, neck massager. Jacqueline was so welcoming and it was a pleasure to be a guest in her home. The breakfast and lunchtime meals were lovely! Nothing to note
- Julie (9/5): Cuisinease b&b - Welcoming owner
Nothing too much bother
Clean and comfortable
- Jacqueline (8/5): Cosy, quiet bnb - Jacqueline is a friendly, considerate host who makes a mean frosted carrot cake. My room was large for a single with a good-sized TV and a fridge; a real plus in the hot weather. Nice quiet area close to Sherwood Not really a dislike, but the shared bathroom, which I was aware of, was quite busy on my stay, but unlike some places, cuisinease does have an extra downstairs toilet, which was a bonus.
- Jennifer (9/5): Great overnight stay near Sherwood Forest - The host was friendly and helpful. My room was compact but very comfortable. The tea making area was well stocked. Off street parking was available. Wifi was good. nothing
- Mark (8/5): Very good -
- Stephen (9/5): Very enjoyable - Host very welcoming, making one feel at ease & home. Location was only a few miles to my final destination in neighbouring village
- Bobbie (9/5): Superb -
- Beatrice (10/5): Exceptional - Was a very friendly atmosphere with Jacqueline providing home cooked fresh meals - was what I needed! Only con is not having a private bathroom but that didn’t greatly matter as everything else was so nice.
- Byrne (10/5): 100% excellent - The accommodation was clean and tidy the host couldn't do more for me, such a friendly home from home feeling and the evening meals so much food and great tasting one of the best B&B I have used.
- Hans (10/5): Place with good vibes
. - We took two dinners. They were very tasty and of good quality.
It was very close to Sherwood forrest which we wanted to visit.
The town is quiet and nice. Owner is very friendly and helpful with things..
We had a big refrigerator in our room. Very helpful if you are traveling with stuff.
I have no negative comments.
- Richard (10/5): Exceptional - Nice quiet area.
- John (10/5): Exceptional - A lovely welcome, and ideally located to get to all the forests, walks and activities around. The room I stayed in was comfortable and had everything I needed, breakfast was excellent and dinner was available if I'd had the appetite. Ollerton has a couple of supermarkets and other shops a short walk away if needed.
- Gareth (4/5): Disappointing - Host was attentive. Steep stairs with slippery plastic mats on them. Cobwebs in room. Floor tiles lifting off in my room. Electric items all plugged into a multi block. I mentioned this to the host and she said she would get different equipment for future guests. Small room. Breakfast was included but was an egg sandwich, a full breakfast would have been an extra £13. In the end I didn't have anything I just left. The decor was really tired and the whole place just felt not as clean as it should be for paying guests.
- Kathleen (8/5): okay comfortable. - Location good ,didnt have breakfast. The property is in a good location for a wedding we was attending.
- Clive (10/5): Welcoming Host, comfortable rooms and good food. - All good. This property does exactly what it says it will. Homely and comfortable accommodation, in our case for one night after a concert at the nearby Sherwood Pines. Ideal that there were two single rooms for myself and my teenage daughter. Great full English breakfast! Nothing, really. The property is exactly as described.
- Fernandes (10/5): Exceptional -
- Alison (8/5): Amazing food -
- Frances (10/5): Fabulous stay! - Super B&B, it’s like a home away from home! Jacqueline is the best host and an incredible cook. The rooms are very comfortable with everything you need including a large TV. It’s lovely and quiet at night. I always stay here when working in the area and it’s great value for money. Would definitely recommend! Nothing to dislike!
- Neville (10/5): The host was great and everything was done properly. - The host was great and everything was done properly.
- Jolley (10/5): Exceptional - Was amazing. I felt like home very welcoming and the food was absolutely fantastic.
Thank you
- Awung (10/5): Cozy nights - It was very clean. The food was good. The host was always ready to attend to my needs. A bit cold.
- Tracey (10/5): Perfect for my short stay as a lone traveller - The property is clean, tidy and very homely. I was offered a choice of food for my evening meal (additional payment required for this) and was able to choose the time I would like to eat. Nothing was too much trouble. The Wifi was really good and I was able to check my work and personal emails regularly at any time of the day in any location in the house. Will definitely be back to stay at some point. Not so much a didn't like, but more a personal preference - When I was looking for somewhere to stay, I kept going backwards and forwards between other hotels/B & B's in the area as I'm not really keen on sharing a bathroom with people I don't know. However, as it is a small property and is maintained so well this wasn't a problem.
- Caroline (8/5): Very good - Lovely host.
- Ben (7/5): Good -
- Mark (10/5): Jacqueline was a great host who made us feel very welcome and went the extra mile - The breakfast was fantastic Everything was spot on
- Nikki (9/5): Short but fabulous stay with a very welcoming host! - I had another wonderful stay at Cuisinease. Jacqueline is a wonderful host, very welcoming on arrival & showing me everything that I might need during my stay. The room itself is spacious, very comfy & very well kitted out with TV, fridge, kettle, coffee maker, cups, hanging space. The property is spotless & very well kept. It's my second stay with Jacqueline at Cuisinease & I would definitely stay again next time I'm in the area. Nothing I can say that I didn't like. Everything was perfect.
