• Melanie (9/5): Great flat, great location, great host - We were finishing a six week holiday so we wanted a few nights downtime before our long-haul flight out of Fiumicino. Rather than the crowds and prices of Rome, we chose Ostia and it was perfect, still with great access to Rome. It’s a modern Italian town and gives you a good taste of how most Italians live. Ilaria is a great host - she’s very proactive and helped us so much. It’s her own flat so she takes much more care than we had from other people working for tourist apartment management companies. At late notice she organised a transfer from Rome Termini station to Ostia which was great in a heatwave and then asked us if we needed a transfer to Fiumicino (EU35, 40 mins in morning peak hour – so much better than a long drive from Rome). Location is good - 15 mins walk to beach, lots of shops and eateries nearby, and about 15mins to the station. The supermarket on the ground floor of the unit block is well stocked (make sure you pick up and store loose fruit and veg in plastic bags and label them from the machine before you get to the check out!). The flat is a large one-bedroom with everything you’d expect from a modern flat - lift, double glazing, modern shutters and tiled throughout. There’s aircon in the lounge and bedroom. The terrace is large, and we used it for breakfast, drinks and dinner when we ate at home. The car park below is not the most scenic, but you do get some great skyscapes from the 5th floor, and unlike most other flats, you’re not looking directly into someone else’s window. Small but full kitchen with a good sized fridge and gas cooker. Bedroom has cupboard space and a comfy bed. The washing machine works well (Ilaria took the time to show us how), and there’s a clothes dryer, iron and board. The bathroom has lots of toiletry space. Water pressure in the shower is not great as advised by Ilaria but it’s certainly enough to get clean and wash the soap from your hair which is really all you need. Not a dislike, just not enough room above: Getting to Rome is easy – it’s a 15min walk to the Lido Nord station (but I’d add a little extra time to walk over the walkway to the platform and get your ticket/tap on). Then get the MetroMare to Basilica San Paolo. It’s an easy change to Metro B (direction Junio/Rebibbia) which takes you to Colosseum and Termini. Total train time about 40 mins. Ilaria warned us of pickpockets, but we are always aware of our belongings anyway and didn’t have any issues. These issues are very minor, and I’d recommend Poseidon 100%: The hot water did cut out occasionally but turning it off and in again seemed to fix it. I’m a light sleeper so I did notice infrequent traffic noise, and there’s a little noise with the 6am garbos but that’s pretty standard in Italy and was nothing ear plugs didn’t keep out. A microwave would be handy.

• Dainis (10/5): Recommend. - Great apartment. Clean rooms with everything you need, even more. Huge terrace with nice view, where you can enjoy your evening. The best host ever. She was so kind to help us with a bus from airport, told about every step we needed to do to get to the place, always was ready to help in case of need, even with sun protection cream :)) Location was great as well, in 10-15min walk to the nearest beach, the same time applies to get to the train station from which you can go to the Rome. In the same building you can find supermarket, so you can easily purchase products there. In the shower water pressure could be a bit better, but it’s still okay
• Andras (10/5): Exceptional - Ilaria was waiting for us at the entrance of the property as we discussed earlier via messages. She showed us around the property, and helped us with very useful advices as well. The property is huge for 2 person, we found everything we needed for our stay. We travelled for Ostia half marathon, the flat is perfect base for the race, and very close to locall ammeneties, shops, bars everything, not far from the sea either, few mins walk.
• Roberto (10/5): Awesome - The host was super friendly and helpful, guiding me towards the right places to go and restaurants. Definitely the best host I have ever had. The cleainess in the apartment was also spectacular. You are lucky if this apartment is available for your stay.

First of all the host Ilaria is the most caring, professional, lovely and helpful person I have ever dealt with when renting a property. I can’t praise her enough! The property is ideally located a short stroll from the beach and restaurants, a few steps from a bus stop to the airport and a 15 min walk from Metromare a train which runs often and will take you directly to the city centre. Just outside the entrance to the building is a fabulous supermarket with an amazing choice of food and anything you might need. Also just outside is a lovely cafe where you will be able to have a coffee and croissant included in your stay. The bed is comfy, the towels are good and kitchen has all that’s needed. The beautiful spacious balcony is a cherry on top. I can recommend this property with no doubt! Thank you Ilaria and I’m already planning to stay again :)
