• Chiara (8/5): Siamo state a Siracusa per vedere gli spettacoli al teatro greco. Ortigia non delude mai è stupenda - Posizione comoda, si può facilmente raggiungere Ortigia e il Teatro greco anche a piedi (circa 15 minuti per entrambe le zone). Bellissima la terrazza, ottima per fare colazione fuori (esterna all'appartamento). Rapporto qualità-prezzo ottima. Parcheggio gratuito su strada, un po' scomodo ma si trova sempre. Suggerire di cambiare il soffione della doccia, non è stabile e si fa fatica a lavarsi perchè scende. In cucina meglio sostituire lo scolapiatti visto che è arruginito.
• Nunzio (7/5): Breve soggiorno per vedere le tragedie. - La posizione in una zona tranquilla, con posteggio libero e facile da trovare. La stanza spaziosa e comoda. Il materasso a molle per niente comodo, addirittura scricchiola quando ti muovi, manca la possibilità di aprire la finestra che si trova a soffitto, giusto per cambiare un po' l'aria.

• Roman (8/5): in general, i was satisfied with the appartment. sorry for the two issues - the appartmant was spacious, well equipped, fine wifi, simple furnished but it was fine ... two things, but they cant be changed, one is too little sunshine / daylight in the kitchen and living room. the second is a shared terrace. didnt feel comfortable when neigbours were going in and out and i was sitting there in my boxers as it was my terrace :) but i recommend for short holidays up to 5 days, no worries

• Chiara (7/5): Soggiorno piacevole con buon rapporto qualità-prezzo - La host Gaia è stata gentilissima e ci ha aiutato molto rapidamente a risolvere un dubbio riguardo il condizionatore. Il piccolo patio comune era molto comodo ed è stato bello poter anche fare due chiacchiere con i vicini. Cucina funzionale. Facile trovare parcheggio vicino alla struttura in strada. Bagno piccolo, il doccino tendeva a cadere spegnendo l’acqua e i rubinetti erano un po’ rovinati dal calcare, inoltre a volte c’era leggermente cattivo odore dagli scarichi. Si sentono i rumori del boiler che fischia e della porta dei vicini quando viene aperta. L’appartamento era un po’ umido a causa soltanto di una porta finestra oltre alla porta principale, ma risolvibile molto rapidamente con il condizionatore in modalità deumidificazione. La tenda della porta finestra è un po’ trasparente e la sera con la luce accesa dal patio comune si vede dentro casa. Posizione non comodissima per raggiungere Ortigia a piedi (circa 30 minuti). Nonostante tutte queste piccole cose siamo stati bene in appartamento!

• Magdalena (7/5): - The apartment turned out to be very spacious and comfortable, which is definitely a big advantage. Unfortunately, the furnishings seemed rather worn out and would benefit from some refreshing to better match the standard described in the listing. Cleanliness also left a bit to be desired – it was clear that not all details had been properly taken care of before guests’ arrival. Overall, the stay was fine, but with a little more attention to detail the apartment could leave a much better impression.

• Catriona (8/5): Gaia was a good communicator and we resolved a couple of initial unit issues by phone. Our single night was enjoyable - - It was clean and comfortable and in a quiet location. Water pressure and heat were excellent - start with cold and adjust slowly as it is a very good water heater in bathroom. Nice little courtyard for quiet reflection and fresh air. Despite being readily accessible and having street parking it is a good distance from the main harbour area of Siracusa so if you don’t want to walk for 25-30 mins it is necessary to catch a ride. Bed in main b’room, whilst being comfortable enough, would be better as a queen size and some extra pillows would be a nice touch.

• Borna (9/5): Superb - The apartment is very big with a small terrace where you can have your breakfast or a bottle of wine in the evening, it was clean, very quite and had all amenities one needs. It's just a 10-15 minute walk to the Ortigia island and a 10 minute walk to the nearest beach.

• William (1/5): I made this mistake; You do not have to! - I did not like anything. I booked 7 nights, but I left after 2. The property does not have windows (except one with frosted glass in the shower). Because Siracusa is located around marshlands, the area is damp. W/o windows, the dampness collects in apartment. The entire place smelled musty and damp. There was also mold and mildew. W/o windows, there is no where for the smoke and steam to go when you cook, so it lingers in the apartment. The lack of natural light and fresh air also makes the apartment dreary and depressing. Siracusa is at sea level. This apartment is below street level. This is an issue with the sewage. It is very close to the ground floor of the apartment. Each time you flush the toilet, the apartment smells like human feces for 30 minutes. The bed was terrible. The poorest quality mattress available to buy. You can feel every coil on your body. Poorly equipped kitchen. There was a broken knife handle in the drawer and a moldy coffee maker when I arrived. The neighborhood is just an average, residential neighborhood (or below average). Nothing to do. Sites of Siracusa are at least a 20 minute walk away. I asked for a refund 10 minutes after arriving. The host refused. I tried to "stick it out," but I just booked another place and left.
• Charlotte (7/5): Good clean cheap apartment. - Parking outside. Good communication and entry details. Clean - good kitchen and shower. Useful terrace down the corridor. Walkable to old town. Pizzeria 3 minutes away (we went in a storm) Air conditioning (warm air) TV in a funny place. No chopping board or sharp knife. No sofa We would have liked an extra blanket for the bed. No window to look out
• Jelena (1/5): Bad - Parking is free on the street, not sure if it's safe. It was for one night we stayed there. The apartment was very damp and ceilings in several premises were covered with black mold. It smelled badly when we came, but when we turned on the aircon it became unbearable - the smell of mold was so strong, it hit us like a dense curtain. We couldn't sleep in the bedroom and I cancelled the stay. We stayed in the living room for one night and it was horrible. The bedlinen was also smelly on dust and it's been a while the apartment was used. The owner denied that was black mold but it's plain to see it is. Booking refunded me for the night. I'm still waiting for the full refund for other nights.

• Richard (7/5): Spacious apartment in so so area with a few issues to fix. - Spacious, seemed like a very recent fit out in most aspects (but see negatives). On a side road off a main road (V.le Luigi Cadorna) which made it easy to find and drive to. Could park car outside. Owner offers rental on bikes, which did not use but could have been really good. Location a bit so so. About 20 mins walk from Ortigia and similar to Greek theatre. Expect most prefer to be closer to former. Outside space to ground floor units questionable. There is space but... No hot water. Shower water barely luke warm. Had to boil water in kitchen and carry it thru to bathroom to have a shave. Toilet seat loose and yellow discolouration - ugh. Despite everything looking very new, shower controls and whb taps looked well used and tarnished - strange. No promised drying rack (put item on one that was there and empty but it was removed by cleaning staff who used it for sheets and cleaning cloths. Did later manage to get it on there. Noise from I guess a/c unit nearby during night. Which is worse, to be woken by someone else's a/c unit droning or being in a unit where you need a/c in the middle of the night? Squeaky bed upstairs - bonky bonky ! No kitchen sink plug. Rusty drying rack in kitchen. Off hand comment when reported damage mark to fridge top - ' I know, do not disturb me. ' !
• Judit (9/5): Our home away from home in Siracusa - We grew very fond of this modern and spacious apartment where we spent six days. Everything is pretty much like on the pictures. The location is a bit further from the center (old town) but at least parking never was a problem in front of the house (and it is free). The apartment is comfortable and also well equipped (kitchen could have more utensils but luckily we brought some of our own). Bed was comfy, sheets and towels are good. We were allowed to check in earlier upon arrival which was highly appreciated. The self check-in was easy and the instructions sent clear. While we had a great time, there were a few negatives (not spoiling our holiday of course). The terrace furniture (three small wooden chairs around a small table) wasn't very comfortable, which is a pity, we would have liked sitting outside more. The apartment is overall clean, but the shower is in desperate need of a deep cleaning. The dry reck for the plates in the kitchen cabinet above the sink is completely rusty. This really should be changed, not just because it is ugly and doesn't fit the rest of the apartment, but I actually don't think it is hygenic to use at all.

• Josefína (9/5): Superb - Super nice and clean apartment with a great terrace. Good location in quiet neighborhood. The apartment had everything I needed. In a 15-20-minute walk I was on the island of Ortiga and in a 30-minute walk on the beautiful cliffs. The only thing I would criticize was that the bed creaked every time it turned.
• Solange (7/5): A convenient place to spend a night in Siracusa - Ocucchiti was a convenient place to spend a night in Siracusa. It was located in a quiet neighborhood. We parked on the street for free. They had a well equipped kitchen, suitable for cooking pasta or risotto. The water heater was turned off when we arrived. Also, the linens and blankets smelled worn.

• Jed (9/5): A convenient, bijou and useful tidy apartment a short walk from the city centre and conveniences - The flat was nicely set up and appeared to have been recently built / renovated ( or just very tidy). I chose this apartment for my long term stay studying Italian at the nearby Italian Academy just a 10 min walk away. It is also only a 30 min walk from Ortiga the old historic area in Siracusa. The flat had everything for a self-catered stay shower, cooker / oven , fridge freezer, washing machine, tv and wi-fi . There was also an outside roof terrace which is a peaceful spot in the sun! It would have been helpful to have a guidance booklet about the apartment, advising “long stay” people of their responsibilities during their stay , specifically rubbish and laundry practises. I was grateful to Gaia for advice during my first week.

• Ross (9/5): Absolutely outstanding apartment. - Truly great value accommodation within walking distance to Ortigia. Our apartment was on the ground floor and presents as new, is roomy, sparkling and spotlessly clean – it even has a kettle/electric jug. It was nice also to be given a hand towel as well a ‘face cloth’. Lighting throughout is excellent and air conditioning is modern, silent and worked well. There are separate TVs located in the kitchen/ living area and bedroom. Parking was readily available immediately in front. It presented like an ikea showroom - and as such, the bed was very comfortable. The hanging space was open - so there was no chance of leaving clothes behind. Decor was clean and modern - altogether, just a brilliant set up. This is as close to a 10 rating as I have given over many years. It has a large kitchen space, but the the rangehood for the gas cooktop is not externally vented (the only ventilation for the whole apartment is by the small bathroom window). More utensils and crockery need to be provided (starting with a cutting board, paring knife, microwave, toaster and drying rack for washed dishes. The bathroom is very small and lacks any bench space (a shelf above the toilet & bidet would be a good start). Moreover, because the water heater is located on a wall there, the door needs to be kept closed and the window left open: still the bathroom is like a sauna. More comprehensive and timely instructions could be provided: eg. 1 The code to the lock box containing the entry key was sent by email to us after noon on our arrival day – we were driving in remote areas and did not have access to emails during the day – it could/ should have been sent the night before (happily, a phone call upon arrival resolved this). eg. 2 We tried to shower on the first morning and there was no hot water – after some time, we established that there was a switch for the water heater and it was in the off position – this could easily have been mentioned in the house directory and begs the question why it was switched off.

We were really satisfied with our stay. The appartment is a bit far from the city centre, about 20-25 minutes walk.

The owners provided everything I could possibly need and were very nice to let me check in early and stay with my pet. The terrace was available at all times, very calm, perfect for enjoying dinner or some evening chill :) Position is also very convenient, close to everything but very calm and quiet. I was very lucky to have found this place and I definitely recommend! -
