Guest Reviews
- Leigh (10/5): - What a great place!
Clean & very comfortable, lovely touches such as fresh fruit & flowers, great location and a three minute walk to the beach.
- Georgios (10/5): - Amazing location in the centre of the Old Town, the apartment has everything you need and is really comfortable and very stylish. Bonuses are the ridiculously large selection of books and the many children's toys available. Hosts very helpful. Feels like being home, to be honest. Will surely choose again in next visit to Hastings. These are all very minor comments for us but can be useful for others: Ceiling in shower rather short for a tall person. In the night the street below can be loud until late, but we did not really minded. Entrance can be challenging with a pram (like we had) or I guess if you have mobility issues.
- Jonathan (8/5): Lovely break in Hastings in a very well presented property - would recommend - Great location, very well furnished, with lots of books! We really appreciated that tea, coffee, milk etc were provided. Karolina was very helpful and responsive to questions Master bed was quite hard, but not too bad. Would have preferred a proper fitted shower than the attachment to the bath taps
- Aleksander (10/5): - Perfect
- Nicola (9/5): - Fabulous decor, great location, very nice touch to have the £10 voucher for the coffee shop. Fantastic place, would definitely stay again. The blinds in the second bedroom do not fit the window. No ironing board.

- Ekaterina (9/5): After a real quest to get in at 7 PM, we loved our stay. Would come again. - Very well equipped, comfortable end elegant apartment. Loved the books and the games/ toys on offer, it was such a pleasure to browse and read (especially on a rainy day). Very Generous hosts - all the essentials, including complementary drinks, were there. Central heating worked well. Plenty of coffee shops and restaurants nearby (it was a little noisy on a Saturday night, but that was to be expected!). Location is perfect. We would love to come again one day. If you arrive after 6 PM, be prepared to look for the keys and let yourselves in - it can be quite a quest (it was for us, at 7 PM when it was pitch black already).Communication about the actual entry to the property was very bad - the door is in a different street, a back alley parallel to George street!) and it was next to impossible to find it. A photo of the fish restaurant sent to us as an orientation picture (on a previously cancelled booking) was not helpful at all - as we walked with our luggage all the way from the top of George street, having parked in a far away car park initially.
It would have been useful to indicate the actual name of the car park - then it would have all made sense.
However, the host did call back to make sure we were OK - a local person, a Good Samaritan, helped us to get in
- Kwan (9/5): had a wonderful stay in this centrally located, with shelves full of books to enjoy, great restaurants and shops nearby - Excellent location, great host. Because of its location, can be a little noisy at night if you don’t like noise.
- Kerry (10/5): Great place to stay, highly recommend! - Fantastic location in the old town and right by the sea front.
The apartment is well equipped and with all the books and games you could wish for.
Lovely welcome gift on arrival.
Teas, coffees, sugar, salt, pepper, oils all available.
Great communication with host.
Coffee shop downstairs is great and always popular!
Would highly recommend! Only think I would change is the shower as would be better attached to the wall. But works etc all ok!
- Breige (10/5): A lovely welcome, fab staff, great welcome pack, warm and clean - In the centre of the old town and a short walk to the beach. It was lovely ,warm clean and comfortable We loved it
- Bianca (10/5): -
- Andrew (10/5): The perfect experience - I've used booking.com for many years all over the UK & Europe this is THE best property I have ever booked. I always give honest reviews, I can not speak highly enough of this property or the hosts. If we ever return to Hasting's I would not hesitate to book this property again.
- Alexandra (10/5): - Absolut perfekt. Es gab keinerlei Klagen.
- Susan (10/5): -
- Sigbjørn (10/5): Exceptional on all accounts; central location, superb apartment, great hosts, good vibe. -
- Maggie (8/5): Beautiful flat in a great town - The flat is really beautiful. I loved All the pictures and books. There was wine and beer and coke and crisps to welcome us, plus enough milk to last our whole stay, which we all thought was incredibly generous. There's a pod coffee machine too, which was great. The double rooms are lovely and spacious.
The town is great if you like antique shops, which I do. They're all in walking distance of the flat and there's plenty of cafes, bars and restaurants to take a break in. The noise. George Street is great during the day but it turned into some sort of shouting youth hang out on Friday and Saturday nights. But that may have been unusual. We just bought ear plugs.
The twin room was a little small for two adults; we were a bit jealous of the two other massive rooms with double beds in. The wardrobe door was blocked in by one of the beds which seemed odd in a flat that seemed so lovingly thought out in all other ways.
- Marina (10/5): Great Airbnb - Amazing place in the heart of everything. Spotless & little welcome treats..much appreciated. Would highly recommend. Everything thought out very carefully to make one comfortable. Nothing not to like
- Pauline (8/5): We enjoyed the accommodation, facilities, hospitality and felt at home - I liked the view from bedroom 1 , the spacious lounge and kitchen. A shower cubicle would have been nice
- ray (9/5): Ideally locatted, lovely property would stay agin - Well furnished, loads of books and games, nice welcome bits ie crisps cokes and water, beds were really comfy, near all the attractions and pubs and restaurants The shower was small and shower head was not very functional, street noise could be bothersome, however didn’t affect us, however seagulls in the morning are very vocal.
- Matthew (10/5): Amazing little hideaway on the edge of old town! 10 out of 10!! - It was just such a well furnished and decorated apartment. Soooo many books and games for the children to play with and my Daughter loved the opportunity to people watch onto George Street!
We loved that there were some drinks and treats on arrival and the cafe below is gorgeous. If you’re tall, be careful in the shower!
- Robert (9/5): Apartment with character and charm - Fantastic apartment. Loved the decor and the floor to ceiling bookshelves. Water, snacks and other basic kitchen supplies provided, which was very appreciated.
Excellent location for combining the seafront attractions and the town. Would definitely recommend. Despite the location, no particular issues with noise, which I had seen in some other reviews. Only the seagulls to contend with, but it is the seaside after all! The kitchen countertops were a little sticky/grimy,
so could have done with a better cleaning after the previous letting.
If it was very hot then maybe some fans for the apartment would be a good idea. It's a question of preference, but some blackout curtains would also be good, especially in summer when it's light so early. The blinds don't block out much light.
- kathleen (10/5): Very nice and homely - Comfortable, clean, and everything you need
- Kathleen (10/5): Loved it! - cosy, central, spacious and tastefully furnished. - Loved it! So comfortable and welcoming, a real home from home. It was obvious that the owners had furnished the apartment with care and love. Very central, spacious and spotlessly clean. We appreciated all the goodies left for us (milk, tea, crisps etc). Hundreds of books to choose from and lots of toys/games for children. Would definitely recommend. The stairs are quite steep and would benefit from a handrail. It would be good if the shower head was attached to the wall.
- Katharine (10/5): Bloody amazing - Just the whole experience was amazing from start to checking out, facilities were more than we imagined. And the accommodation was just breath taking full of character and charm. So much space and perfectly located in the bustle of the old town. Obviously being in the thick of it and Windows open for a breeze, noise into the evening was load but to be expected from the location
Thankyou so much to everyone involved my mum and the rest of us had a wonderful time and would def visit again xx Nothing to dislike x
- Stef (10/5): Exceptional - Wonderfull place, definetly will book again Everything was thought out to make our stay as nice as possible, excellent location
- Helen (10/5): A lovely apartment centrally located -
- Nina (10/5): Exceptional - We had a really nice 3 night stay with our 4 year old kid and were pleasantly surprised by the amount of toys provided.
Friends of us came over to stay with their dog for one night and they were happy to find doggy beds.
When our kid had issues falling asleep due to the shades not blocking the light, Karolina didn't hesitate to give us curtains to darken the room, which we've been really thankful for.
We'd definitely stay there again! The street is quite loud, but we knew that in advance due to other ratings 😉
You can either have the nice and central location or a quiet hideaway and we decided to go with the Hanuska and all the great food and drinks options just around the corner.
- Bridget (10/5): Excellent family accommodation - Brilliant central location in the old town.welcome basket much appreciated.Everything for a comfortable stay
- Kathleen (10/5): Very helpful host - A lovely property and very kind host
- Steve (10/5): Exceptional - Location, interior, made is special for us
- Fredrik (8/5): Great 2 nights stay in Hastings - Felt welcoming and nice A little loud, if one is sensitive to late night noises
- Daniel (10/5): Very satisfied - The style and theme of this place is great. Only that there was no fixed shower head in the bath.
- Colin (10/5): Excellent place, would recommend - The quirkiness, the welcome basket, and the extra toiletries. The beds were lovely and comfortable and the location was excellent. The book lined rooms were a bonus and gave the property a charm of its own. Only thing to note is that because of the age and layout of the property, there was understandably, no wall mounted shower.
And, the towels could have done with being a wee bit bigger!
- Steven (10/5): Exceptional - We loved this property so unusual, characterful, cosy and very cool! The books were amazing and so many toys puzzles etc our 4yr old grandson was in heaven! Everything we needed was there and we felt at home immediately. We were provided with a fab little welcome basket including a voucher for the wonderful coffee shop below where we all had breakfast on our last day, it was delicious.
Great location for the high street and beach there are so many cool little independent shops, bars and restaurants literally right on your doorstep, couldn’t get any closer really! Would highly recommend. Usual parking restrictions apply for a central location but there are plenty of pay carparks nearby or even free parking if you don’t mind a walk up the hill. There’s nothing we didn’t like it was all great.
- Helen (9/5): Lovely flat in Hastings - Lovely flat with lots of books and games and comfortable living areas.
Great host - thank you for helping us be reunited with forgotten item left at the flat. Noisy at night with the nightlife below, though we were warned about this so bought earplugs!
- Angela (9/5): Superb - Well equipped apartment with welcome pack. Great place to stay for book lovers.
- Burcham (9/5): Superb - Thank you Karolina for a wonderful stay in your gorgeous home! We loved all the books! We loved the location. We did find the storage of clothing tricky however as we could not open the wardrobe and many drawers were full of linen. Other than this, we loved your home and the coffee shop!!!! Lack of clothing storage
The boys found the shower difficult but that's teenagers!
- Mary (9/5): Exactly what we needed for our family weekend away in Sussex - THANK YOU: Great asthetics and generous supply of books to read. No caffettiere or strainer (but we managed )
- Karen (10/5): Extremely well presented accomodation which made for a lovely 2 night stay. - Perfectly located in beautiful George Street with easy access to the beach, cafes, shops etc. Extremely well equipped with good quality appliances, utensils etc. Interesting, spacious and comfortable accommodation with good quality and lovely furnishings. An abundance of good quality toys for my Grandson to play with! Would highly recommend. Nothing to dislike.
- Rachel (7/5): Beautiful, clean but very noisy - The apartment is beautiful, the walls of bookcases are fantastic, really clean, beds comfortable and pillows soft, kitchen was great and perfectly functional, welcome basket was lovely and voucher for the coffee shop downstairs was a nice touch. The owners were very helpful and pleasant. The apartment is located in the middle of the high street surrounded by bars and pubs so the noise of late night revellers was bad due to the fact there’s no double glazing and we didn’t get to sleep until around 1.30-2am. We stayed over a weekend between Christmas and new year so may have been worse because of the time of year but I note other guests mentioned it too. The seagulls then get going around 6am so sleep was difficult.
Washing in the bathroom was difficult due to there being no shower, just an attachment to the bath taps and the sink was very small. A separate loo would have been great too.
- Bert (8/5): Terrific place to enjoy Hastings and explore local area - Amazing location, great book collection, excellent coffee shop below No standing shower, single bathroom
- Andrea (10/5): Comfortable and spacious accomodation in the heart of Hastings. - Fantastic apartment in the heart of Hastings. Very spacious, extremely comfortable and clean with the most impressive book collection!!! We had the best time.
- Intan (10/5): Home away from home! - This apartment is highly recommended especially for family with young children. It was beautiful, comfortable and cosy, and had everything we needed! The beds were clean and comfy, bathroom complete with toiletries, and kitchen stocked up with water, coffee/tea and had all the basic ingredients for simple cooking (oil, salt, pepper and spices)—we made breakfast daily before heading out, and cooked dinner for 2 nights.
The living room was the centre of activity for our family when staying in. One charming aspect of the apartment was the floor-to-ceiling bookshelves decorating the bedrooms and family area. We were free to read from the interesting titles on those shelves; reading nooks available by the apartment’s 2nd floor windows overlooking the lively Old Town if that’s your reading vibe. The living room's so cosy we could’ve just stayed in all day and read! There were toys for children, but our kids had more fun playing the boardgames. There’s Netflix etc on tv if your idea of winding down after a long day out is watching your favourite shows.
We had nothing to complain, but something worth pointing out is the location of the apartment, which is on a lively street with cafes and pubs and antique shops lined up. We had purposely picked this location for the convenience of having the cafes and convenience shop within a quick reach, and easy access to both the Old Town and The Stade on one side, and the city centre on the other. You can hear music at night from the pubs until around 11:00 pm (Sunday) but they stop earlier on weekdays. However we were not bothered at all by this and we quite enjoyed the liveliness. If we had stayed longer, my husband would’ve definitely joined the crowd!
Our 4d3n stay far exceeded expectations. The hosts, Karolina and Andrew, greeted us very friendly. They were very accommodating and quick to respond to our questions. Nothing.
- Jo (10/5): Fantastic! - Everything is just like the photos, with loads of books and board games. Clean, convenient and really nice. No hanger for shower head.
- Sioned (7/5): Comfortable stay and handy for restaurants, pubs and cafes but conversely quite noisy at night. - Good location for staying in Hastings old town. Plenty of room, comfy beds.Liked the decor. Lack of headroom to have a stand up shower - have to run the bath and use shower attachment. The bathroom sink was very small.
