• Giusy (8/5): Overall OK, pity about the noise though. - Location was perfect. Easy to get there from station. Staff was nice. No noise from bar located above the hostel but could hear everything such as people using sinks/ showers or toilets very early and especially someone who decided at 5 am to unpack and pack in front of our room. We therefore didn’t get much sleep.

• CHING (8/5): 舒適但噪音很多 - 接待我們的工作人員超級親切！ 地點離車站近，沿路的商店都很好逛，空間小但很夠了，床也滿好躺的。其他該有的設備都有！ 我們靠大門旁的房間，其他人進出都會甩門，我們的牆壁會震動，很大聲嚇死人了，還以為牆壁會倒。 某天有個人在門口抽煙沒關大門，使室內充滿煙味，後來坐在櫃檯…，不確定是不是工作人員，因為很快就換人了。 樓上是個bar 開到半夜一點，樓梯在房間正上方，每天都有大群人上樓會有嘎嘎聲。

• KAZU (9/5): 駅近コスパ高めスタッフ温かい宿！ - 今回ファミリールームを利用しましたが、まず広い、簡易的な洗面所があるところが良かったです。 防音面です。ドアの下が空いていたり、隣がトイレや洗面所なのでその音はやはり聞こえます。ただ、皆さんルールやマナーを守って行動していたので夜中目が覚めるなどはありませんでした。

• Summer (7/5): Great location, good for a night or two - Very comfortable beds, wasn’t loud even on the weekend besides other guests using blow dryer late. Private showers, 2 bathrooms. Had little lockers, big enough for small backpack/purse but the bed space was so big you could fit everything in there with you besides XL luggage. Free laundry. Very small lobby and 20 min walk to beach (listed as 12). Also really small sink area (only 2 for everyone) so it’s hard to get ready in the morning.Just very crammed inside.

Ik had een bed in de gezamenlijke hal. Waar continu mensen langs lopen. Constant geluid, geen sfeer, onveilig gevoel. Dit zou verboden moeten worden als hostel.

Like all hostels the amount of noise just depends on who's staying at the same time as you. There were some warnings about a bar up stairs but I didn't notice. Might be a quiter time of the year?

Direi pulito ma molto spartano

L'insonorisation inexistante, la musique d'ambiance jusqu'à tard, la lumière toute la nuit, c'est pas le pauvre rideau qui va empêcher la lumière de passer. Il etait certainement possible d'éteindre une partie des lumières a un moment donné. Ca donnait vraiment l'impression qu'on a coupé des planche de contre plaqué et de les avoir assembler pour faire des cases.

• Mathilda (2/5): Bruyant ++++ - Proche de la gare. Très bruyant. Les murs sont fins. On entend absolument tout. Il y a un bar au-dessus de la chambre. Le weekend il y a de la musique jusqu'à 1 heure du matin. Les pas des clients allant et partant du bar résonnent très forts car l'escalier est littéralement collé à la chambre. La chambre est adjacente a l'entrée du guest house, on entend chaque entrée et sortie, la porte claque bruyamment à chaque passage. La chambre fait penser à une cellule de prison, c'est assez dépaysant.

• kayoko (7/5): - 友人と二人の個室だったので 周りを気にせず話ができて良かった。 シャワールーム、トイレがキレイだった。 ベットマットは、寝心地が良く、掛け布団も暖かかった。 お湯を沸かせたり、電子レンジがあるのが良かった。 鎌倉駅に近くて良かった。 部屋が土間だったので、 部分的にでもマットなどひいてあると良かった。 ベットが鉄製でギシギシ音がしたこと。

• 海 (5/5): - 鎌倉駅から近かったので、いろいろなお店に行きやすいです。 2階が何かのお店だったのか、深夜まで足音が聞こえました。また、入り口近くの部屋だったのもあり、出入りするドアの音や話し声がかなり聞こえてきたので、耳栓必須です。

• Camille (6/5): Pleasant - The location was really convenient. Very close to the train station and next to lots of lovely places to eat and drink . There is free laundry service which is stellar . It smelled of mildew. It was cramped and the only unclean place I’ve been / stayed in Japan . It was noisy - Not the bar/cafe upstairs but actually in the facility .

• Travis (2/5): Impossible to be in the room before 11pm - a shocking experience - the staff were very kind and helpful. the bed was extremely uncomfortable, it shook when laying on it causing lots of noise and distress, worst of all was that until 11pm the washing and drying unit pressed against the door was running - making it impossible to be in the room - it was so loud you can't talk or even think! shocking, we had to find a new hotel for the 2nd night.

• Nader (4/5): Hostel is way too small and not comfortable at all - Staff was very polite and friendly The Hostel is quite small, consisting of just 2 connected halls. So there is no space for luggages (of course NO LUGGAGE STORAGE a huge miss) Given its design from the bed you hear all the noise coming from the reception/social area

• Simon (7/5): Good - Twin room: A bit weird, but not too bad! At first it felt like we had booked the back door plumbing room, but then we were like, hey it’s not too bad! Which it really isn’t. Maybe not the cheapest place though, but not many options when you’re booking a couple of days before! Two young British girls decided to have a drunken high pitched gossip moment in the middle of the night, just outside our room in the common area, but can’t really hold that against Bench I suppose, just bloody brits being brits.

They had lockers available for guests’ items and it was an affordable little hostel in a relatively convenient part of Kamakura. Both the hostel and the area surrounding it were insanely loud at night. It was worse than the amount you would expect for the price. It sounded like it was a party area and there were banging and shouting noises that could very clearly be heard from outside. Additionally, some other guests at the hostel were extremely loud and inconsiderate, talking loudly with their friends and playing music without headphones at 11pm and after, and the staff did not intervene. The hostel provides free earplugs, but these were not sufficient. I was very disappointed by the noise level and it negatively impacted my sleep.

• Natalia (5/5): Super noisy - The most unpleasant experience in Japan! First impression is very good but when you’ll try to sleep… Everything is made to make the noise! Doors have no holders, hair dryers you’ll find right at the place you sleep, not in the shower rooms! Sinks as well, you’ll be bothered as much as possible! So instead of make this area further they made everything noisy right at the sleeping area! At the checking time the staff was ok. But the most disappointing was the staff in the evening. It’s not a Japanese girl. She was talking loud with guests after 11 am! She didn’t stop super loud and slamming the doors people. She just was sitting and doing her staff until I came and asked to do something! She didn’t explained that guests that there are some must rules in hostels like it was everywhere I stayed! And it’s must to keep silence and respect! She smiled just said that it’s not her business, it’s a place she just works! Sounds so rude and pretty western! As I know it’s normal to respect and take care about other people in Japan! And make everything very comfortable. They even didn’t switched off the light in the sleeping area until I asked! What a mood! Shower was good, clean, hot water. The place to sleep is pretty specious. No luggage keeping locker. Kettle, tea, coffee, microwave, towels, ear plugs, space to eat. Fan, two lights, no hangers, no hooks for clothes or towels. No space for shoes. Can’t recommend just because the organization process is failed. And it’s very sad! To care about the quietness is MUST in hostels!

• Kamil (7/5): It was fine but could be better - Locations is really good They provided two towels for free Coffee and tea also for free Staff is friendly and polite Since you can walk everywhere in outside shoes it felt bit filthy. Would be nice if they provided slippers for inside and forbidden walking in outside shoes where dorm beds are. This hostel is very small so be prepared for lack of luggage space if you travel with big suitcase and staying in dorm there's no place to put it. Low bunk is very difficult to get into, the entrance is so low and tiny, very uncomfortable to go in and out. But in general its not a bad hostel and I had okay experience there and Kamakura is a nice place :)
