Guest Reviews
- Ahmad Handhalas (10/5): -
- Abdullah mat noh (10/5): - Love the vibe
- JIA WEN (7/5): -
- MOHD FAIRUZ (8/5): -
- Hazwan (8/5): Very good - Satisfied with helpful staff. Suitable for solo travelers staying there
- Naziz (1/5): Bad - Booked RM70/ night room. Room.only has 1 ceiling fan and one bed. Very small. Unlike the photo as advertised. The info was not adequate / did not inform during booking.
- Olga (6/5): Pleasant - convenient location, employee is always in touch The water heater causes a power outage, I do not recommend turning it on
- Hamidah (3/5): Please avoid it at all costs - Almost nothing, except for walking distance to 7e and coffee shop This property is not as advertised. Despite claims of sea view, it's located in the middle of town with no proper signage. The property is on the 2nd floor of the Perkeso building, and you need to call the staff for directions as it's difficult to locate from the parking lot or determine which block it's in.
Check-in and payment are conducted via WhatsApp, which is quite unprofessional. The room was stuffy, smelly, and lacked air conditioning both in the room and the common areas, making it unbearably hot. The provided fan was ineffective, possibly due to the ceiling height or the low quality of the fan itself. I couldn't sleep all night because of the heat.
The towel provided was dirty and smelled terrible, suggesting it had not been properly washed and was simply reused for the next guest. Thankfully, I only stayed for one night.
I do not recommend booking this property. Please avoid it at all costs.
- Amirizzuan (6/5): A so-so 2 nights stay - (1) The place is in the middle of Dungun town. Everything is within walking distance, and it is on the main road of Dungun town.
(2) The price was among the cheapest in Dungun town; I got it for RM70 per night.
(3) The car park was in front of the building, free during the weekend (Friday & Saturday).
(4) The owner provided free premium-level filtered water for drinking, hot and cold, from the dispenser in the shared kitchen.
(5) The water pressure in the shared bathroom and toilet was good.
(6) The shower gel and shampoo in the shared bathroom were okay. During my stay, there was shared toothpaste in one of the toilet+bathrooms.
(7) The shared living area was nice and cozy with a ceiling fan and air conditioning.
(8) The ample-sized room is just right for a single bed occupancy. Each room has its own ceiling fan, light, single bed, and some form of wall-shelf with a mirror.
(9) Clean towels were provided.
(10) Clear instructions were given on how to access the place.
(11) Good security is ensured by the 3-tier locking system. They gave me 3 keys: 1 for the general entrance at the ground floor grill-gate, 1 for the general door on the second floor of the hostel, and 1 for the private room. (1) They concealed the fact that the place was actually a hostel on the second floor of an office building.
(2) The hostel adopts a backpacker-style setup with nine small rooms designed for single occupants and two shared bathroom+toilet facilities. Unlike typical backpacker hostels with shared bunk beds, they offer private rooms for single individuals. While I didn't mind this arrangement personally, it's essential to note that this information should have been clearly communicated in the description.
(3) There was no signage for the place on the exterior of the building. You have to navigate yourself to "Perkeso Dungun," and the hostel is on the 2nd floor, above that office (on the ground floor and 1st floor). Another way to find the place is by Googling "UNI Klinik Dungun"; "Perkeso Dungun" is located right next door to "UNI Klinik Dungun."
(4) The photos provided are misleading and make you believe that the place does not have shared bathrooms. I was under the impression I would have my own private bathroom+shower in the personal room.
(5) They only provided details to the place about 2-3 hours before my arrival. Thankfully, I was driving, but imagine if I had taken public transportation and needed to find the place on foot.
(6) There is misleading information about the sea-view room. In reality, there is no such thing; the building is in front of a busy main road.
(7) The ventilation in the room I stayed in was stuffy.
(8) The room lacks a waist-height desk/table/wall-desk. The wall desk is positioned too high.
(9) The power plug is also positioned too high. You need to be creative to hang your phone to charge it. Not many people have more than a 1-meter charging cable, luckily I did.
- Shazlin (8/5): Pleasant stay with great places nearby - It was clean and good for backpackers to stay and have a rest The room should have some air ventilation
