Guest Reviews
- Sebastian (8/5): -
- Rüdiger (5/5): - Die Lage Es ist ein viel zu kleines Bett, kein Stuhl, nix. Man hat keine eigene Küche, keine eigene Sitzmöglichkeit. Einfach nur ein kleines Bett und ein Bad.
- Stewart (7/5): - The room was clean and Spacious Expensive for what you got especially with no breakfast
Person in room 4 was smoking on the landing next to our room 3
There was no tea or coffee in the room
This place should not be stated as a B&B but more as an AIR B&B
NO soap in the bathroom
- Rajmund (8/5): - Well located in a side street in the centre of Campbeltown. Very convenient for about anything you might like to do in the town. Reasonably comfortable though rather basic.

- KUNDI (4/5): - As an Asian traveler in 2026, I never expected to be showering with just cold tap water because there’s no water heater here. The WiFi is even worse—they call it 5G, but it feels like 2G. I asked about it, no reply. Honestly, if Campbelltown weren’t so small, I would’ve switched hotels already.
- Mark (5/5): Disappointing! Even though we had use of a kitchen we couldn’t even make a cup of tea! - Location was good. Cleaning could have been improved. Old milk left in fridge. What is the point of having a kettle in your room with not a teabag or coffee in the bedroom or entire house.
Essbereich lieblos unsauber.

- Siddika (7/5): - We hadn't had breakfast It wasn't nice to stay in separate rooms and be away from each other.
- Bidemi (8/5): -
- Leslie (10/5): -
- Libby (6/5): Place was spotless lovey place to stay just not fo us oldies . - Stairs was a big problem for us too many ,hubby 83yrs myself 74 yrs we struggled with them big time ,room could have done with a chair tea or coffee facilities .
- Pauline (9/5): Didnt meet any staff there for I couldn’t make an actual response. Lovely comfortable room & clean throughout. - Centrally located
Clean room Some damp showing on ceiling & damp/mould in shower area
Quite expensive for room only for 1 night
- Paul (10/5): -
- Karl (8/5): A great stay and would come back. - The location was perfect. Basically in the heart of Campbeltown or as near as. The Royal hotel was nearby as was a Chinese takeaway. The room was more than adequate, having a very comfortable double bed and separate toilet/shower.
The were shared kitchen facilites with a fitted out kitchen for your personal use if you wanted. A beautiful part of Scotland.

- David (10/5): - Location, size of bedrooms and size of communal spaces. We had all 4 bedrooms booked so had the whole house therefore all spaces to ourselves whoch was great Bathrooms all very clean and functional. They could do with some modernising
- Uwe (8/5): -
- Monique (9/5): Great central location. - Great location and view over the harbour. Would’ve loved a jug for a coffee but mostly, fans in summer would be fabulous in these Scottish rooms. At least this one has a great window that could be opened for some cool air.

- Rebekah (10/5): - Check in / check out easy with key box and good communication Shower could be improved but brilliant on being hot.
- Kieran (10/5): -
- Tobias Lukas (8/5): -
- alistair (8/5): Location perfect in the centre of Campbeltown - Very comfortable & excellent location Misunderstanding re number of beds (needed 7 for 7 males adults) we got 2 family room with only 3 beds in each. Owner reacted immediately & provided a Z bed in the larger if the 2 rooms. First class customer focused experience
- Neil🇬🇧 (10/5): -
- Markus (8/5): -
- Sarah (7/5): Good location and comfortable for a short stay - Good location in Campbeltown, walkable to distilleries. Instructions from host were easy to follow and access was easy. Host responded quickly when contacted. The room was private with own bathroom. Overall the room was clean. Shared kitchen and seating area, we were aware of this before our stay but felt this puts the overall value for money down.
- Dennis (9/5): Superb - Great location to explore Campbeltown.
- Alexander (6/5): Fair enough - Number of beds available. That is was a shared house, I must have not picked this up from the description. I was worried about having children in the house alongside people I didn't know. However, the bedrooms did have a good lock on them.
Although everything looked clean, the dining table and kitchen cabinets seemed to be sticky.
Some furniture was in disrepair.
The rear door to the property had a broken lock.
- Sharon (2/5): Very poor -
- Brian (9/5): Weekend in Campbeltown - Very central for everything in Campbeltown. Bed was very comfortable. Quiet area. Nothing really to complain about.
- Purplemoose (8/5): Very good -
- Thomas (4/5): Would not stay again - There was mould all over bathroom ceiling and had no heating or hot water on last night but was not worth complaining as leaving early morning
- Rebecca_buijs (5/5): Fine for one night - Location of the Erradale was in the city center, parking was not on the property itself but in the street which we found okay. Both distilleries were on walking distance and pubs/restaurants too. The room was clean and tidy.
The host was quick in the response on where to eat in Campbelltown. What was not clear was that we did not get a whole apartment but just a room in a house. We were under the impression with the photo's we would get a whole apartment but we did not.
The room we stayed in felt cramped (a big closet that looked like it could tip over) and the bathroom could use some TLC.
- Cabalang (8/5): Very good -
- Sarah (8/5): Very good -
- Christopher (4/5): Disappointing -
- William (10/5): Exceptional -
- Balbir (5/5): Passable -
- Alasdair (7/5): Great location but Booking.com description misleading - Location was excellent. quadruple room was a good size. clean throughout. Host responded promptly when we had an issue on our arrival From the description on Booking.com it was not clear that the living area and kitchen were to be shared with other guests. We have reviewed the description on Booking.com and it is definitely not clear that these facilities are shared. Guests in the room above us were noisy, coming and going after midnight.
- James (8/5): Very good -
- John (6/5): Great location but could be better. - The bedroom and bathroom were big enough. Television good. Kitchen needs to be re-supplied with new utensils. The toaster was broken, there was no cafetiere, no scissors and cutlery/ utensils were a bit sparse. The bedroom was fine mostly but a chair and/ or table in it would be nice. I also saw a fitness room mentioned somewhere but there wasn't one which is fine but some of the space could be better utilsed.
- John (8/5): Overnight stay - Bedroom was fine Unfortunately being of the older generation it was a " keylock " system, never having come across it before only saving grace for me was another guest leaving property showed me how to access keys, perhaps a little more info would have helped, tried phoning mobile number with no response?
- Norman (9/5): The room was excellent with everything provided that one could need. - The very nice shower room with unlimited hot water. The two flights of stairs to my room, although I was aware of this when booking!
- John (7/5): Good - Location and facllities Noisy others.
- Robert (10/5): Exceptional -
- Steven (7/5): You won’t find cleaner facilities and comfort just bring back the owners and their home made breakfasts - The property is absolutely spotless clean can not fault it I ride an old Lambretta scooter so have heavy jacket and trousers however the plastic coat hangers were no match for my stuff and crumbled under the weight ,
On another note having stayed there before and had the pleasure of having a breakfast made by the owners this was sadly missing and it has seriously lost its homely welcoming feel it now feels like a youth hostel bring back the owners and their fantastic hospitality and breakfast .
On trying to get my keys from the lock box I had forgot my reading glasses and trying to put in a code on a lock was a mission for me but I succeeded in the end
- Richard (7/5): Good self-catering accommodation in town centre. - Central location in town. Place to store bicycles. Comfortable bed. Spacious kitchen and lounge. Plenty of fridge space. Poor WiFi signal in bedroom on top floor. Couldn’t make ovens work.
- Emma (5/5): Passable -
- Allan (5/5): Not for me. - Decent room and ensuite. We didn't realise that it was shared accommodation. The dining room table could've done with a clean.
- Samantha (10/5): Great location - Host very accommodating and good communication prior to stay. Location is ideal! Thank you so much
- Grant (9/5): Superb -
- Andyac1 (10/5): Exceptional -
- Linton (1/5): Appalling lack of care for customers displayed by management. - 1 No exterior light, making it difficult to see the numbers on the key box in the dark. Management should fit a motion sensitive light, or take the time to visit the property and switch on the exterior light for customers' convenience.
2 Wrong code sent by email for the key box outside the front door. When I telephoned for assistance in order to access the property, I was told "Oh, they sometimes change the code." Well, the management has a responsibility to check and ensure the correct code is sent to their paying customers, instead of leaving them out in the dark and rain. What should we have done if my phone battery were flat?
3 NO HEAT in the house right throughout the night. The temperature was 11 degrees on arrival. I set the radiator in the bedroom on, and when we returned from visiting my dying brother-in-law in hospital several hours later, there was no heating or hot water at all. Management should arrange for the property to be warm when customers arrive. Furthermore, you can see from previous reviews that the failure of the heating is a recurring problem - somebody from Australia complained that there was no heat at all for the last two days of their stay. Clearly, management have taken no effective action to rectify this.
4 No instructions provided on how to a) Set the temperature required on the thermostat (there are no buttons at all on it), or b) what to do if the heating fails completely. Having gone to bed cold and tired, we only discovered in the morning that the gas unit had previously tripped off. Management should provide written guidance on both a) and b). Furthermore, management should have sent somebody to address the problem as soon as possible - in fact, nothing was done at all.
5 Bedding totally inadequate for winter on the west coast, being summer-weight material, and no spare blankets in the cupboard in the room. Fortunately, we had our own downy with us. Management should provide sufficient bedding to ensure warmth in the event of repeated heating failure.
6 In their e-mail, management stated "We can't wait to extend a warm welcome on your arrival." This is simply a lie - there was nobody there to welcome us, nor any intention at all for there to be so, and no welcome messages of any kind at all in the property. The only written "welcome" was a list of petty rules. Their contempt for their customers is obvious from this nonsensical, lying e-mail.
7 The upstairs bedroom is corbelled - that is, the roof slopes sharply from the wall to the centre of the room. The double bed is positioned under the slope in the roof, which means that anybody taller than the average 10 year old, is very likely to bang their head on the ceiling, especially if getting up in the dark. This room is NOT suitable to be marketed as a double room, and should contain only a single bed. The marketing of such a room as a double indicates pure greed on the part of the management.
8 There was a dirty frying pan in the sink in the kitchen, and the drying up cloth was dirty.
9 When I telephoned to complain about the above failings, I was quickly accused of being "abusive". But I had used no bad language, and I did not use any abusive terms. Their response to my complaint about their appalling service was simply a defensive tactic and an attempt to justify their own lack of action in rectifying the faults detailed above, especially the total lack of any effort to provide heating in the property.
10 When, in rushing to the hospital, we could not remember the revised code for the key safe, and therefore dropped the key through the mail slot, the management then complained to us for not returning the key to the safe (despite us informing them of where we had left it).
- Victoria (9/5): Superb - Lovely and comfortable and clean Towels were way too small and only had a kettle in the room no tea or coffee etc
- Cristi (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sally (8/5): A comfortable and enjoyable stay for a solo traveller in the heart of Campbeltown - Privacy of my own room The heating seemed to be turned off - centrally - over the last two days.
- Stuart (8/5): Comfortable room and access to a full kitchen if needed. Was ideal for my requirements. - Clean room, plenty storage and a comfortable bed. Bathroom was a good size. Quiet at night. Free on street parking. Near to town for restaurants, etc.
- Angela (8/5): Cute place in a perfect location. - Very well located, right next to the main street.
Room and bathroom were clean.
Was available on very short notice. Shower pressure could be improved and it would be useful to have some basic toiletries provided like shampoo and conditioner.
- Vicky (10/5): We had a really fantastic stay. Thanks to Jennifer for all her help and assistance. She was very accommodating in lettin - The location was ideal for us. It was very spacious clean and modern. I honestly can’t fault the property at all.
Accept maybe the stairs were a little bit dangerous and steep with heels on.
- Corina (4/5): Not the best - Location The bathroom was dirty. Shower head was mouldy. Clothes from previous occupant left in drawers. Freezing when we arrived although this was rectified. Stayed here every year for the last 10 years or so and will not be back as very disappointed this time round. Definitely not worth £140.
- Edward (6/5): More self catering than B&B but excellent location. - There was no breakfast. There were no hosts. The cleaner was the only person I briefly saw there. Great views though. It was a little in the chilly side and it would have been nice to be able to turn on the heating a bit. A kettle in the room would have been handy although the kitchen was nice enough albeit 3 floors down. The shower was tiny.
- André (7/5): Good - Quiet area but still in the centre.
A kitchen and living/dining area was available to be used. Rooms weren't checked daily and toiletries weren't provided.
- Sarah (8/5): Perfect for all our needs -
- Randhir (10/5): Exceptional -
- Karen (9/5): great location and very comfy. - self catering. very comfy bed.
- Anne (9/5): Good clean room. Great value for money - Nice clean room in good location. Shared kitchen and lounge. Good communication with host. Stayed one night. Good value for money Nothing
- Mark (8/5): Very good - Clean comfortable and location suited me WiFi was rubbish and unusable. Shampoo and shower gel would have been a nice touch
- Giulio (10/5): Excellent -
- Pollard (8/5): Very good -
- Connor (8/5): Very comfortable, would definitely go back - Had everything we needed, very easy to find, good access to centre of the town N/A
- Greig (6/5): Nice convenient location for a short stay. No breakfast options other than what had been left by previous occupants, whi - Convenient location for where we were. Sharing with other noisy occupants.
- Allan (5/5): At its best its a bed but only for short stays - Property is clean and in central location for town centre. Bed was too soft - appreciate this is personal preference but neither of use had a decent sleep
No hot water in bathroom apart from shower.
No toiletries in bathroom apart from a "watered" down bottle of liquid hand soap
Box of tissues on shelf in bathroom was empty
I'm only 5' 10" but sloping roof in Room 4 is poor design when getting in and out of bed !
- Dave (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kayleigh (6/5): Pleasant - Central location with all the facilities we needed for our stay. The fire alarm went off during the night and nobody was able to turn it off. This was outwith the hosts control however, it took the hosts nearly 40 minutes to arrive. It was an unpleasant experience for my two young children at 2am in the morning.
- James (9/5): Superb -
- Susan (9/5): Superb -
- Lisa (10/5): One night - Everything was perfect. The only reason I gave the staff a poor rating is because there was no staff, but the information and instructions to get into the property were clear. Nothing..
- Debbie (10/5): Would stay again. Clean, modern and comfortable. - Spacious, clean and quiet. We had to park a few minutes walk away from the property
- Vicky (10/5): Exceptional -
- John (9/5): Superb -
- Alex (8/5): Very good - Checking in was by email then key safe - there didn't seem to be anybody there. The room was fine, but I had to trail down to a kitchen from the 2nd floor to make a drink. I was parked on a yellow line but it didn't seem to be a problem. There's a dodgy looking pub nearby and there was a Saturday night bash at the masonic hall, but no problems with car vandalism. I noticed little details like the hand-wash being diluted and no soap/gel in the shower. At £100 for the night, I thought it a little pricey.
- Jack (8/5): Very good - Lovely room in a 3-story townhouse just a few minutes walk from the highstreet, shops, and harbour.
The bed was comfy, and the bathroom was clean. Good facilities in the shared lounge/ kitchens.
- Esther (10/5): Great couple of nights away - Comfortable and great location
