Guest Reviews
- Paolo (9/5): - Julia's breakfast Julia's dog
- Jurgen (10/5): - Authentic experience with a very hospitable and helpful host.
- Luca (10/5): Real experience in the desert - Real experience with people who love the desert. Hiking on the rocky mountains.
- Michal (10/5): The best place to stay in the desert - When you imagine that you travel to a friends who lives at the village in Europe, what would you expect? Probably village life, which is different than the one in the city. What would you expect when you travel to desert? Probably much less confortable place than you can find here at MalakoRum.
Very confortable rooms, european type of toilet, hot shower (we vere there just at the end of calendar year - so in winter time). Wow and such delicious dinner freshly cooked by the hosts.
The stay for us was like visiting friends who moved to desert to farm there. So we expected animals around, and we loved it. When you see beduins next the desert streets they have also animals around. So the experience from the desert life was way more much authentic then the games played to tourist elsevere. We expected and loved that touch of authenticity.
Jo was very kind all the time to explain all the things we were curious about - desert life, geology, history etc. and she turn to be very rich well of knowledge. She offered us a hiking tour in the mountains around and it was unexpectedly experience with a little climbing at the top of near hill top with wonderful view.
Jafar may seem to be harsh and bitter, as the desert fruit are, on the first glance. But when you let to know him a little bit more you will find the cool and broad hearted man you can love.
We had four-wheeler car so we wanted to travel more in desert, but without any experience of desert ride. Jo and Jafar helped us to plan our little desert trip, just for the time we had. That trip was also wonderful experience which we would have not undergo without the help of our "desert" friends. Thank you for encouraging and helping. It was too short :)
- Lai (8/5): OK - Ok! Reasonable price. Response fast! Average
- Laia (9/5): Superb - Worth the 4km off-road from the main road on the way to Wadi Rum (and/or as complementary day to the Wadi Rum experience). Compared to Wadi Rum, this experience was calm and authentic outside of the touristic paths. it's a beautiful spot, Jaffar and Julie cooked wonderful food and we had a good evening chat. Sukran! A bit warm in those small rooms, but if you leave the door open, the breeze helps a lot.
- Caroline (8/5): Very good -
- Alberto (10/5): Exceptional - Jafar and his partner were very kind and welcoming. I was on my bike and Jafar came to pick me up, avoiding me having to do 10 km of highway in the dark. A perfect stay, thank you!
- Sandro (8/5): Very good - Verynice people, very remote camp, spartanic and low price, great nightsky and surrounding nature. hosts are very open and wellcoming. A lot of animals around. you need to be prepared to drive in the sand and to live with the hosts and the animals, which great for me but maybe not for everyone.
- Anna (9/5): Perfect staying close to Wadi Rum - Jafar and Julia are perfect host. The food was very good and the view is wonderful. I would recomanded this stay to anyone!!
