Guest Reviews
- Christine (7/5): - Nice and big cottage , well equipped kitchen. Bonus to have a swimming pool. The farm shop was closed on the first 2 days we were there.
Mattresses could be better
- Barbara (9/5): We had a lovely time I will make sure I don’t book with stairs on the outside - Lay out in the apartment
Pool access
Walks and surrounding area Didn’t know it had stairs on outside
To into to the property thought it was a cottage
I am disabled and would have struggled if it was icy
- Anna (7/5): Overall we really enjoyed our stay and definitely recommend it. - The location of the house is perfect, quiet and pet friendly The shower is the main bedroom wasn’t good, the water pressure was very low and we were unable to use it at all.
- Kate (7/5): Nice place, would stay again. - The location and property were excellent. Loved that we could reserve the swimming pool for exclusive use which was one of the main reasons we booked. Welcome pack was a nice touch along with the provision of basic dish cloth, dishwasher tablets etc. single beds were very comfortable. Double bed was not comfortable, mattress needs replacing. Shower in en suite was unusable, no water pressure. This does need addressing somehow. I got around it by washing my hair in the shower at the pool after swimming as there is no way I would have been able to wash my hair in that shower.
- Amanda (8/5): This was our second stay at this location.last time we stayed at Can Brow. We will definitely be booking again - Gorgeous location. Loved the pool and shop. Very clean and the welcome pack was great The only negative was the water pressure in the showers. Literally couldn’t shower in the en suite and the main bathroom was better but not much.
- Richard (9/5): Superb - We liked the well equipped, spacious apartment with excellent walks within the grounds There was nothing we didn't like.
- Palmer (10/5): Exceptional - Absolutely lovely place to stay, would reccomend to anyone who would like a quiet place to enjoy with amazing views
- Antoinette (8/5): Very good - Cottage was cozy and kitchen was well equipped. Great location. Double bed was extremely uncomfortable and sunken in the middle. Water had a yellow tint to it. Broken equipment in the games room.
- Gillian (8/5): Lovely base for exploring the Lake District - Fabulous location , warm comfortable and well equipped The water pressure in the shower was really poor and I’m not a fan of carpet in the en-suite
- Simon (8/5): Very good -
- Sarah (5/5): Passable - Location
Grounds are pretty

Quiet really lovely estate Shower pressure..this is the one and only reason I wouldn’t re book here. The pressure was shocking and when you have been walking, paddle boarding, kayaking. Swimming etc etc in the lakes you just want a good wash and a good shower. It was a dribble ..both showers
We don’t realise we were in a first floor apartment. Thought it was a house but that may of been my oversight I haven’t re read the details x
- Girius (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kuttab (10/5): Nice place in the forest - Location and peacefulness of the place Managing hot water was a problem wish the management writes clear instructions on how to operate the hot water controls
- Esther (10/5): Peace & quiet - We had the upper floor of one of the cottages and it was beautiful 2 bedrooms and very spacious. It was spotless and it had everything you need for a self catering holiday. Personally we couldn’t figure out how to switch the hot water on. We were there during very hot weather so the cool showers weren’t a problem.
- Jakub (10/5): Nice stay - Really nice estate in rustic style, we had a really nice time there. The area is quiet and idyllic. The house was very clean and all the facilities worked well. Nice touch of welcoming gift. Could be an info to enter from the south when low suspension.
- Palmer (4/5): Disappointing - Location was good. A tired property that was not worth £680 for 2 nights. No wood for the log burner, a broken table tennis net, the pool needs attention to replace the rusty shower and green walls suffering from damp. The mattress was old and uncomfortable. The water is discoloured but that’s due to the eco system. In all this was not a premium experience. It was fine, but not amazing. Certainly not value for the price.
- Stephen (10/5): Exceptional -
- Colleen (10/5): Such a lovely quiet retreat for to chill out and take time for yourself - The property was quaint and quiet, clean and cosy. Water pressure for the shower.
- Holly (10/5): Amazing properties, will definitely return - Super comfortable, very clean, easy check in/out- everything you possibly need in a gorgeous property Could possibly do with a changing room at the pool facilities
- Lucia (9/5): Fantastic stay at Newlands - Excellent place to stay the grounds and the cottages are beautiful had plenty of parking. Had a fantastic time there is some amazing walks around the site itself very close to lake windermere and highly recommended taking a walk down to Karen's Island stunning views. The cottage was clean, well stocked and extremely comfortable. There is an adorable little shop on site, swimming pool and small games room for kids. The WiFi wasn't great but that is to be expected with how rural the location is recommended taking some games or a book. The water pressure in the shower was very low on hot had to take baths instead. Take care on the roads in as its abit rough I checked in late and didn't see them until it was to late 🤦♀️. Booked a slot for the swimming pool when we arrived there was still people in the pool during our time we got in 5 minutes late and then it took them 25 minutes to shower and leave which for a 45 minute session wasn't great but otherwise had a fantastic stay and would definitely stay again 10/10 recommended.
- Suellen (10/5): Exceptional - Very relaxing lovely place. Defiantly will be back Shame the shop shut so early. A pub would be a nice little add on.
- Ellis (10/5): Comfortable, Great Location for Family Fun - Super comfy beds and fluffy towels. Very comfortable. The swimming pool and Games room were fab. Shower could of been more powerful but I believe it’s because they are on a eco system so that’s a positive not a negative.
- Carol (5/5): Passable -
