Guest Reviews
- Lisa (10/5): Very easy stay great host and great value for the money - Great location good parking comfy and warm exceptionally good value. Nothing really although steps and stairs might be a problem for those with mobility issues.
- Paul (9/5): Lovely stay in a super cozy little cottage. - Super clean with lovely linen, very comfortable beds, and a cozy living room. The host was incredibly friendly and accommodating. We were left with a lovely hamper of goodies: such a treat! It was fine for us, but steep stairs would make it hard for less mobile people.
- Wen (7/5): - the price is great. quiet location. room has everything you need. close to all the attractions we want to see. narrow stairs. the house itself is old, so you can hear the sound from doors, walking on floors. bedding is not very comfortable, not like cotton feeling. living room quite small and is difficult to have dinner in the room given we have elderly and young child. but if next time I travel with friends not family, I would definitely choose it.
- Andy (10/5): Had a great weekend catching up with family nearby which was made all the better with the excellent property we stayed i - Lovely cottage located by the harbour the welcome pack was unexpected but much appreciated.
- Amy (9/5): -
- Laura (10/5): - Excellent location.
Lovely welcome basket with good quality items.
Very clean and Excellent quality bedding and towels.
The beds were very comfortable with great pillows etc.
Snuggles is a great places.
Thank you for a great stay. Nothing!
- David (8/5): Cosy , comfortable and convenient!! - Lovely little cottage in a great location close to the harbour. Very well kitted out and very comfortable beds. Would definitely return.
- Julia (10/5): Cottage with character - Lovely, cozy little house. Close to all amenities. Has all that is needed. Full of character. Stairs were challenging, but we adjusted after a while.
- David (8/5): - Great location. Exactly as described. Would stay again. Pillows. However that’s a personal choice.
- Natalie (8/5): - Very steep stairs
- Michelle (10/5): Perfect place to stay if you want peace but still be close to the main town. - The house is a beautiful 3 floor cottage. Compact but with lovely period features. The staircase is a tight spiral but there are secure handrails all the way. Gorgeous view from the top bedroom of the quay and very peaceful despite being so close to the town.
- Bas (8/5): -
- Amanda (7/5): - Nice and cosy feel. The owner left some goodies to welcome us into the property.
Comfy beds, good showers, and plenty of utilities in the kitchen just in case you need to use the property as a base instead of eating out.
Brilliant location as 5 minute walk from the harbour and beach. Stairs are very steep for somebody who may be pregnant and for younger children so something to consider before booking.
- Chiujdea (10/5): - I stayed in this house for 3 days and it was absolutely perfect in every way. Clean, comfortable, well-equipped, and located in a peaceful area. The host was kind and helpful. I highly recommend it and would gladly return!
- Maria (10/5): Coastal-chic retreat with spotless comfort, paw-approved perks, the BEST host, just BOOK! - Snuggles at Victoria’s place in Weymouth blew us away seriously, it was the perfect spot to celebrate my partner’s birthday we even were lucky enough to request we extend our stay further because we just fell in love with her place that much, and even our Akita, Muji, gave it four paws up! From the minute we booked, Victoria was a brilliant communicator, kind enough to share some of her top picks, including a michelin star restaurant I'd already researched called Catch which is just a ten mins walk! She also suggested a place for our second night which was incredible & her local fish n chips on the doorstep is the best we've ever eaten!
Walking in, the seaside décor hit you right away, mix of soft and dark blues, great artwork and little nautical touches everywhere which made it feel like a beach cottage dream. Place was spotless. I mean, spotless! Yes the staircase is a little narrow but by no means a problem for us at all - it added to the quaint charm tbh with you!
The location couldn’t be better. Harbour a few mins stroll, great coffee houses, pubs, bars, restaurants! Weymouth Beach is very close by and Durdle Door is just a quick drive away absolutely worth the trip. We also spent a morning down at the harbour, sipping coffee while Muji chased seagulls (classic dog move).
Victoria really thought of everything: restaurant recs at your fingertips, parking at Asda was so incredibly easy 2-3 mins walk, and theres also another carpark nearer to unload! If you want a genuine seaside escape with zero fuss and all the charm, Snuggles is it. We’re already thinking about our next trip back, I woudln't hesitate to stay there again it's been the best staycation we've ever had - credit to Victoria & SNUGGLES! X Nothing
- Fatih (5/5): Good location but problematic accommodation. - Great location Stairs very steep and narrow. Found them very difficult especially at night. Bathroom vey small
- Catherine (10/5): Excellent value and fabulous location - We had a really lovely stay and found the property spotlessly clean. Love Lane is an excellent location for the town, harbour and beach. Snuggles is a lovely heritage property on a quiet pedestrian street. Both flights of stairs are fun but not for the faint hearted or any one with mobility issues. Fantastic to have use of a parking space 24/7.
- Meina (9/5): Snuggles is suitable for a couple. More than that it would be a bit cramped. We enjoyed our stay.. - Smart TV in every room. Comfy bed. Close to the harbour. Parking within walking distance. Well equipped kitchen. Quiet area. Welcome hamper was a nice touch. Walking distance to shops and restaurants and beach. The stairs were too narrow. Difficult to climb up and come down. I was glad that this was anticipated by the owner. Hand rails were installed to make it easier. Twin beds were too close to each other. Tight walking space in between.
- Potteti (10/5): Exceptional - The cottage was very cozy, peaceful and away from crowd but also it’s in an ideal location close to beach.
- Tina (10/5): Exceptional - Everything
- Martinez (10/5): Exceptional - Amazing location and the house is very clean harbour and pub just near by ? Very central place ?
- Simon (9/5): Very love stay ina very clean and cosy place. Great location within a few minutes of Weymouth town centre. - Good location and clean. Very nice to have tea, coffee and milk on arrival. Not much room between the beds in the second bedroom.
- Tom (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kerry (10/5): Lovely little gem! - Great location, about 5/10 minute walk from the harbour
2 pubs within a minute walk of the cottage
Lovely comfy beds
Tv in every room which is a bonus
Fully equipped kitchen
Host left fresh milk, biscuits, tea bags and coffee etc for arrival
Heating heats the cottage up quickly
Little front enclosed garden with artificial grass, ideal for our dog
Host always quick to respond to messages
Free parking at nearby asda , roughly 3 minute walk from the cottage
Overall we had a lovely stay and would definitely return in future 😊 The stairs are a bit steep as it's an old cottage, could be an issue if you have mobility issues
- Patricia (10/5): Exceptional - We loved this Cottage, it certainly lived up to its name.. The geneneral decor was really lovely and cosy. The beds were sooo comfortable. Very well equipped, the owners had thought of everything one might need. It was in a wonderful location so close to Town Bridge. and a super pub within walking distance.
- Verenna (7/5): We had a great weekend and would book again for sure! - The beds were incredibly comfy wanted to take the bed home!
Well equipped cottage, great location. The stairs are an issue, very steep and a little tricky to negotiate. Getting our suitcases up and down was interesting but definitely a giggle!! 🤭
We had an issue with the boiler, but great communication with the owner, and dealt with quickly, so the one cold shower was a minor issue and got the endorphins going! I’m told cold water is good for you!! 🤣
- Marc (10/5): Exceeded expectations - Snuggles is in a great location for town centre, beach and harbour. So shops restaurants bars etc are all close by also the parking at Asda is very close by. When I contacted the owner with any questions replied quickly. So this a great base to explore from. The cottage had all facilities I needed and clean. If gong back to Weymouth would look at this cottage as 1st choice now It was not an issue for me but the stairs are steep
- Stephen (4/5): OK, but if we visit Weymouth again we will be staying somewhere else - The cottage is in a nice location, quite near to the centre of Weymouth but far enough away that there is no noise. Although an old cottage, it has been modernised throughout throughout with tv's in every room and a good selection of channels. Particularly liked the master bedroom It was clear that the large rug in the lounge has not been deep cleaned for some time. There was a strong smell of dog coming from the rug that we were constantly aware of when sitting in the lounge. Needs deep cleaning, or replacing with something that is easier to maintain
The 'garden' is a small yard with a bit of astro turf over-looked by two properties. When it rained there was a smell of dog poo, suggesting it has been used by pet owners who have visited as a place for their pets to poo. Didn't at all feel like somewhere we would like to sit out
Stairs are steep and require your full attention to negotiate. Not ideal for those over 6ft, or with mobility issues
Kitchen plus large bath towel for master bedroom smelt of cig smoke on arrival
- Julie (9/5): Superb -
- Sally (10/5): A real gem - Loads of character very comfortable
High spec facilities in bathroom and kitchen
Great location
Great price Nothing
- Su (8/5): Fab family, short stay with our Furry Friends. - Quirky Old little cottage in a fabulous location. Decorated tastefully with lovely little touches to make it feel like a seaside holiday home. Very clean, great bedding and towels provided. Dog friendly, with a secure outside terrace so your pooches can be safe or smaller adults if need be! Excellent communication from start to finish with Victoria, any queries promptly answered, for instance parking which is available at the near Asda carpark (2 mins away) sorted thru host on booking (free) and other available free parking locations also given in advance. In close vicinity to two fabulous pubs, one which serves excellent food, The Belvedere, Sunday roast a must.
Please note, photographs provided were taken on departure day when bedding had been stripped by ourselves. Not negatives more of advice for anyone with mobility restrictions or small children.
The property is accessed by 3 steep steps leading to the terrace and property entrance.
Inside the property, access to the 1st floor inc bathroom, and to top floor is also by a steep winding, narrow staircase.
There are also some inclines around the property and immediate surrounding area, which is quite normal being situated in the Old Harbour end of Weymouth, but these were manageable for my Dad who is a walking stick user, taking his time, but may be of interest for any one with mobility issues.
Also, Ive noticed in previous reviews, comments around dog smells.. as a dog owner I will say yes there is a slight pooch odour but.. being dog friendly I would expect that, so maybe if your sensitive to furry friend smells it may not suit.
- Sarah (10/5): Excellent Weymouth character cottage - Great location, lovely character cottage close to harbour. All of Weymouth within walking distance. Everything you could want.
- Naydine (9/5): A sunny and beautiful stay in Weymouth. - The property was based very conveniently for a stroll to the town, harbour and beach.
The little garden was a lovely addition. The whole area surrounding felt safe and clean. The property supplied all the items needed to be comfortable. The host was easily contactable also. We had no issue, but the stairs could be a problem for this with mobility issues. However, for us it was not a problem.
- Mark (7/5): Short Weymouth break - It was quaint, and had everything you needed for a short break. The beds were uncomfortable and the metal frames were loose and squeaky on two of the beds.
- Tamsyn (9/5): Perfect short break, would stay longer next time. - Close your the centre, beach and harbour yet could get out of town easily. Quaint little cottage but had everything you could need. Stairs were extremely steep, manageable but could use a handle at the very top of the stairs, not great for tall people
- Roxanne (10/5): We had a fantastic stay, Thank you - The property was in a great location, facilities were all what you needed for a short stay. Victoria was absolutely lovely and communicated very quickly if we had any questions. I haven’t got any negatives, the only thing I would say is the stairs are quite steep stairs especially for young children. I don’t know whether a couple of retractable baby gate would be beneficial. Overall we had a lovely stay and look forward to booking again!! Thank you again m.
- Peter (8/5): grest location and cute -
- Lori (10/5): Loved it!! - Everything was great. So so pretty with loads of character. Everything you need is there, fully equipped kitchen and beautifully decorated and furnished. The pastries, snacks, milk and tea/coffee that we're left for us on arrival was a nice touch. Even dishwasher tablets, new dish cloth, sponge, tea towels and kitchen roll was great to see, so many places don't provide these so they were greatly appreciated. Great WiFi signal throughout and sky TV, Netflix etc and TVs in every room. Situated on a pretty pedestrian lane about 5 mins walk to the harbour and only minutes to the pub. We parked in the free parking space that comes with the property in the Asda car park, which is a few minutes walk away as the on-road parking closer to the property was always full but we had no troubles leaving the car in the Asda car park and it wasn't far to walk. It's a pretty little fishing cottage so as you can imagine, the doorways are low and the stairs are narrow and steep but there are plenty of handles to hold on too so we had no issues, even my partner, who is 6'2", only banged his head once on a low door way. Which, for him, is a result! Haha!!
Highly recommend Snuggles for a seaside break. Can't fault it! It's not a negative, in fact, it's a positive..
On our first evening there, we noticed that the water wasn't getting hot. I contacted the owner and she came around within 10 minutes and fixed it, even though it was quite late at night before we noticed. She was lovely and really helpful.
Also, as I mentioned before, the stairs are steep so whilst they are no problem for most people, it's worth keeping that in mind if you have people in your party with mobility issues.
- Sarah (8/5): Great stay in a lovely little house in a brilliant location - Lovely little house, beautifully decorated and clean. Great facilities and lovely little touches like coffee and milk being left at the property in readiness for our arrival. Great location and an easy walk to the harbour.
Great to have parking arranged at the local supermarket although there is some limited parking in the roads surrounding the property too which was brilliant.
Great information pack left on the kitchen counter for arrival with lots of information.
Very well equipped for a little house.
Lovely view of the harbour from the top floor bedroom.
Very sweet little property! The stairs are not for the faint hearted(!) and could have possibly been shown in the photos or noted in the property description for awareness. Whilst this wouldn't stop me from booking again it may make the property less suitable for someone with any kind of mobility issues or someone who is less steady on their feet.
- Adam (8/5): Great location. - Great location, well fitted out with everything you need.
Parking is convenient. The smell of dog inside the cottage.
- Clive (8/5): Had a really lovely time - excellent location! - Lovely stay, well fitted out, stairs were a little tight! Twin bedroom a little tight for two adults
