Guest Reviews
- Jon (5/5): Overpriced villa ruined by neglect and poor management - Garden, pool, location Our holiday was ruined by the villa’s unreasonable rules, poor upkeep, and the management company’s lack of support.
The air-conditioning was the worst issue: restricted to set hours and shutting off if a door or window was opened—even briefly. At night it became such a hassle to restart that we avoided using the bathroom. Unsurprisingly, the villa was unbearably hot during the day.
The bathrooms had the most basic showers I’ve ever seen, many just handheld units, and the electrics were unreliable with lights and fittings working only intermittently. The BBQ area was so dirty we didn’t use it at all.
For a property at this price level, these standards are unacceptable.
Excuses such as “rustic charm” or “unusually hot weather” are just that—excuses. This was neglect, not character. My advice: avoid this villa unless you receive firm written assurances from the management company beforehand.
We’ve stayed in 12 villas over the years and 11 were superb. Unfortunately, this was the one that let us down—an expensive disappointment.
- Jonathan (9/5): Great family venue. - The property was in a fantastic location, 20 minute walk from the town centre. It was a little on the tired side, needed a few touch ups here and there.
- Carole (8/5): Overall we absolutely LOVED our stay. Beautiful villa in beautiful Pollenca. We hope to return! - The location was fantastic. Interesting and easy (flat) 15-20 minute walk into the beautiful town centre. The grounds of the property were the highlight: the pool was large with lots of space for the children to play. The space suited the 2 families really well with almost 2 wings (separate staircases) for each family with interconnecting middle rooms for the children. Ideal. Kitchen was very well equipped and the outdoor kitchen and dining areas were fabulous. We had some issues but they were dealt with very promptly. The air conditioning was set to come on at 12 noon -2pm, then again from 11pm-4am. This meant we woke up in unbearable heat through the first night. A quick message to Portvil the first morning and they responded immediately and came to reset the AC so it came on 7pm-7am which was ideal.
A few days into our stay the electrics tripped so the outdoor electricity was off. We also lost water supply that morning and the pump in the pool went off. This resulted in an awful smell from the bathroom drains and poolside. Again, a message to the letting company resulted in a very prompt response and issues were resolved. The property is old and rustic so there are bound to be maintenance issues.
