- Mike (8/5): Solid location in a quiet area with all the amenities you'd expect. - It felt quiet and safe. Although the location we a little out of the centre, it was still manageable on foot. I felt checking out at 10am on the Sunday was a bit early.
- Caroline (9/5): We had an excellent stay at Woodvale and would highly recommend. - Location was very good with easy walk to the city centre or a bus at the bottom of the road five minutes walk away. We had a couple of issues which are fixable. Struggled unlocking the front door and were worried the key may snap in the take lock as it got stuck!
The wash basin in the en-suite on the top floor was leaking and sometimes the water took a long time to drain.
- Jenny (10/5): Fantastic stay, great responsive hosts. Would definately recommend to others. Thankyou - We loved the house, very well equipped, lovely decor, plenty of room and an excellent location - just a few minutes walk to the bus stop at the nearby pub to get into centre of York.
The hosts very attentive and responsive via messenger through booking.com One of the bedrooms was a little cramped with 3 bed in.
Very low shower pressure in main bathroom.
We had a noise complaint from neighbours at 9pm on a friday night whilst we were just sat playing a card game, chatting and laughing (no music or tv etc) seemed a little bit much. (I know that this is not the hosts fault - just something to bear in mind with a large group - a big house/large group isnt going to be silent).
- Harvey (10/5): - The house was comfortable, beautifully furnished and well equipped. It was a perfect choice to celebrate a family birthday with family.
- The Thomson Family (9/5): Excellent family accommodation only a short bus ride to the centre of York. - Good location for easy bus ride/walk into York city centre. 1x private parking space in the car park, some limited on street parking outside the front of the property. Clean, well finished, good quality furniture and spacious accommodation. No issues. Large table in kitchen excellent for family. Lots of space in double rooms for cot/toddler bed/inflatable beds (if needed). Parking for 2nd car a little challenging on first night, found nearly on street parking after short while. Recycling segregation/how to separate in outside bins not clear within the property - information found on local council website.
- Kirsten (10/5): - Great location, loads of space, easy walk into town, perfect for a big group trip

- Tara (10/5): Perfect spot for the city centre and the races, good amenities around the area too! - Fabulous location! Great size and social spaces! -
- joe (8/5): - Location and facilities
- Jane (8/5): Lovely place fully equipped and very relaxing - Beautifully furnished and everything you need Slight smell of damp
Carpet rods cut feet on stairs
- Joanne (5/5): Nice house in a peaceful location - The house was a great size for our party of 6. The decor was lovely and the beds were comfy, we all slept really well. The location was peaceful and it was great to have some outside space. The kitchen was well equipped and seating accommodated our all of us comfortably. Short walk to the bus stop to get into the city centre. Too many beds in two of the bedrooms which made the space a bit crowded. Check in after 4pm and checkout by 10am made our weekend shorter than we would have liked. Some areas, e.g. door handles/handrails and parts of the worktops were a bit sticky. Having said that, we found the house generally to be clean and comfortable. It would have been great to have some handsoap in each bathroom, we arrived after a long journey and all needed the loo! We could not fit our mid sized SUV in the parking space within the rear garden, however we had no problem parking on the street.
- Julie (9/5): Graduation celebrations! - Beautiful home that's well equipped and comfortable. The bedroom configuration was great for accommodating a large family. Would definitely consider booking again. Parking is a little tricky, off street parking space requires manoeuvring in a small alleyway. If you had a large car it wouldn't fit. Disabled badge holders can park on the street but it's very congested.
A later checkout time isn't available at all and that would have been helpful today.
- Jessica (7/5): Good -
- Adrian (10/5): Very enjoyable stay. - The house was lovely. Very spacious and clean. It had everything we needed.
- Jackie (8/5): Very good - Good location and lots of space. Comfortable home. Dishwasher tablets provided, easy to control heating, nice decorations so felt homely. Quiet residential area, easy on street parking. We walked into York very easily. It was fairly clean but inside drawers in kitchen were grimy, some stains on one bedroom carpet, and vases very dirty. Beds weren't very comfortable. We were told the coffee machine took beans when it didn't so we couldn't use it.
- Andrea (9/5): Lovely place. 20 min walk from train station and 30 min from town - Everything was there you could ask for. Well presented, gorgeous decor Shower was a bit slow
- Kevin (8/5): Spacious clean and good access to city centre - Spacious and close to centre On street parking maybe an issue for large parties with multiple cars but we did not have any issues
- Anonymous (9/5): Superb - Great location comfy beds lovely decor
- Armani (10/5): Amazing house for entertaining with lots of space! - Amazing house! We were a group of 11 women staying to attend the races, the house had everything we needed. Lots of space, it was clean and tidy and well presented. Beds were really comfy and had numerous bathrooms so didn’t feel like we were all cramped on top of each other waiting to get ready. Location is perfect just a short drive into town and the race course. Would definitely stay again when visiting York! We had a problem with one of the beds, but nothing too unmanageable
- Darren (8/5): Good overall - Size of property Amount of spiders & cobwebs
- Tommy (9/5): Very enjoyable and comfortable stay, would definitely return. - Very clean, spacious and homely. Great location for city centre and racecourse Needed to provide basics (eg Cleaning Products/complementary mini toiletries)
- Terry (9/5): Superb - Clean , tidy , comfortable , everything you needed was there No dislikes
- Anonymous (9/5): great house. great location - great size - large kitchen and living areas. big enough for our group to all sit comfortably nothing
- Julie (10/5): Excellent accommodation and plenty to do in York - The house is just 20 mins walk into the town. Very spacious too and all the bedrooms have plenty of space. The beds are comfy and there is everything you need there for your stay. If you have any questions the response is quick. We were lucky with the parking we managed to get 2 spaces but any later then I dont think we would have. There is takeaways and a shop at the end of the street which was handy. Will definately return
- Gourlay (7/5): York was very busy, expensive but worth a visit. We felt the property was a tad overpriced - Location was great, roughly 15 minutes walk to the centre of York within the walls. The Property is nicely spaced out with modern decor. There is an outside area to sit, which we didnt use due to weather, im sure it would be lovely in nice weather however. Nice coffee machine and amenities, beds were also super comfy. Parking was pot luck, the property is in a busy residential area. We had difficulty booking a restaurant, we stayed Tues to Thurs as a party of 9 (3 adults, 6 children) we discovered that there were quite a few restaurants that closed on a Tuesday. The restaurant that we eventually found to take our booking informed us that they did kids portions from the main menu, they would just half the portion size, they did however, fail to inform us that we would pay full price no matter the size, very disappointing! I can highly recommend Bella Italia in the centre of York, staff, food and service were excellent! My child has allergies and I have never seen staff be so attentative and aware of it. Very pleasantly surprised.
- Ron (8/5): Very good - Extremely comfortable. Every need catered for. Great attention to detail. Good quality equipment and fittings. Spotlessly clean. Great heating. Very quiet. Would definitely use again. Great house. On street parking was a bit of a challenge, but possible. Main house bath slippery when showering.
