- Leif (8/5): Would totally stay again - Clean and cozy The property was great finding it was hard. But it wasn't the host it was the email. The address kept showing different properties close to the right one

夕食は宿の近くに良い店が沢山あるので不便ない様です。
朝食もとても美味しかったです!

- Andrew (10/5): Exceptional - I cant actually think of anything I disliked about my stay here. Not one thing.
- Olivier (5/5): Nice stay overall, but the front desk left a bitter impression - The room was spacious, with comfortable futon bedding and good pillows. The onsen was pleasant, even if nothing particularly exceptional. I appreciated the traditional Japanese style of the room, which created a calm and relaxing atmosphere. Everything was clean and well-maintained, which made for a restful stay. The staff at the front desk wasn't very friendly. I was asked what time I planned to check out before I even received my room key, and every question I asked seemed to be a burden to them. It's the first time I felt so unwelcome in Japan, which is really unfortunate.
- Lee (9/5): Friendly, welcoming hotel, with good facilities and food. - Great little hotel with excellent service. Good restaurant and comfortable rooms. Lots to look at in this hotel - like a mini museum filled with artefacts and historical memorabilia. Good parking too. A little walk from the centre of town - but would not a problem in good weather.
- Liu (10/5): Exceptional - The spacious room, the pillows, the mountain view, the parking attendant, the friendly staff, the onsen! Nothing to complain about
- Sam (8/5): Good location for skiers - friendly and helpful staff, huge room, nice alternating public baths with sauna and outdoor options, free parking spotty WiFi, no bottled water, some areas (corridors) are cold in winter
- Tanawan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Pijitra (9/5): Superb - The staff was super nice and I love traditional Japanese-style. The onsen is also very good.
- Nyuk (10/5): We have an enjoyable stay and nearby there are many restaurants and 7-11 is nearby. They also provide free sled for kids - Staffs are very helpful Nil
- Teck (10/5): Comfortable, clean & classic Ryokan with exceptional friendly service that you would expect. - Free parking exactly in front of the ryokan. Nothing
- Markus (4/5): Depressing - It was a bit municipal in feel and slightly depressing
- David (7/5): Good -
- Giovanni (10/5): Excellent - All
Excellent The good service
- Nick (9/5): Quaint peaceful authentic ryokan in a more rural area. - Amazing authentic ryokan. Building and room was a bit dated. Very very hot in hallway and foyer to room. Bedroom had good AC however.
- Leslie (9/5): Inhouse Onsen! - Staff were very courteous and friendly
Room was spacious and all amenities provided
In-house Onsen was superb! Even the other guests were very friendly and relaxed
The fact that they even hung a placard outside my room with my name on shows their attentiveness
Neighborhood is quiet, very few tourists. We discovered a gem of a place in 福一 which serves Unagi by a family just across the bridge Few Key times to take note:
Check out is at 10am, which felt very early
Before leaving we thought of having another soak, but 9.30am they have a cleaning schedule for the baths for 2 hours
Breakfast was only up until 9am
And us sleepy heads woke up at 8am
You could guess the rush we did, but we managed!

- Bin (10/5): Wonderful Happy stay with Helpful hosts - Warm friendly helpful welcome by the hotel receptionist Yuri. Smooth fast check in. Comfortable spacious clean room and nice onsen. Dinner was wonderful too. The owners are a family. Met Ms Hiroko Misumi and her sister in law who both run the hotel. They are always available to lend assistance to you. Greatly appreciated their help to resolve an emergency. All 3 individuals we met speak English. Don’t be fooled by the appearance of some walls or facade of the hotel building as you approach. Once inside, everything is as well appointed and decorated like a grand ryokan.
- Protchenko (8/5): Very good -
- Stewart (10/5): Exceptional -
- Chloe (10/5): Tabist a lovely spot in Minamiuonuma - This place was lovely, I did book a 6 person room all to myself though! Very thoughtful staff who provided hot water for tea to your room, put a whole breakfast together for me when I was running a bit late on my second night, and swapped me to a non-smoking room when my original booking didn't say it was smoking. The breakfast was amazing value and the onsen was lovely. Because it's obviously popular during snow season it was super quiet which was welcome. The location is a bit of a walk from the train and town centre (about 15 minutes) but it was flat to get there and the walk had stunning views over the river and surrounding mountains. There was a 7-11 nearby and restaurants withing 5 mins walk.
The staff mostly didn't speak English but it didn't cause any issues.
- Pham (10/5): Exceptional -
- Dr (9/5): Superb - This Hotel is nearby to many ski fields its a bit older however, what you get in room size is very generous.
We were allowed to park onsite & it was free.
The Onsen was really great with both indoor & outdoor options.
The staff were very courteous especially an older gentleman who was actually inspirational he would have been over 70 & was always doing something.
the room looked out at the mountains & was Tatami style plenty of space with its own wc kitchen area including a large fridge.
Great tea pouring equipment.
We ate at a restaurant nearby called 'little hokkaido' the food here was amazing as were the staff.
- Bondy (10/5): Exceptional - Great value for the amenities, includes on-site onsen and delicious dinner and breakfast all coupled with a very friendly staff.
- Frank (10/5): Exceptional - I did like the Sauna, the helpfulness of the staff, the atmosphere is good silent clean.
This is a really good place for solo travelers. The Saunas are exceptional I enjoyed those and the view of gigantic mountains is pleasant. last but not least the staff of this hotel is really kind and helpful. I think the room needs some renovation little old now
- Jian (10/5): Exceptional -
- Arnab (7/5): Good - The location was very good. Other facilities were good. There was no hot water in the common area and in washrooms.
- Brenda (9/5): Snowy onsen ryokan getaway from the city with no crowds, so lovely! - The buffet breakfast was delicious. It was a lot of food for an affordable price. I recommend others to book with the breakfast as well! The location near the snowy mountains was amazing to be around. It was a very tranquil snow town. We were mostly looking to book a ryokan with an onsen and we really enjoyed the indoor public onsen. :) I especially liked the tatami room onsen! Wow!
Also the natural mountain water available for drinking, located right outside the entrance to the onsens, tasted so good my friends and I were always stopping by to take a sip during our stay there. Sometimes when we asked for something, the service was slow. However, the staff was friendly whenever we asked them questions and they helped us greatly. We were also so happy they had snow boots we could borrow to walk by the nearby mountains during the snowy season.
- Randypapa (9/5): Superb -
- Marcus (9/5): Amazing stay and highly recommended! A car is needed though! - Loved everything about the place. The room was comfortable, clean, and warm for the winter! The onsen was so amazing after a long day on the slopes! The place is very well maintained even though it was an older building. Would stay again. Loved the futons and traditional Japanese aesthetic. The only downside was the location and how far it was from the ski resorts. A car is a definite must-have because there are no train stations near that area.
- Tomio (8/5): Very good -

- Kataoka (6/5): Pleasant -
- Chi (7/5): Good -
- Veronica (9/5): Superb -
- Daniela (9/5): Relaxing in the hot spring - The hot bath was very nice and relaxing. The restaurant offered tasty food and we could wash our clothes in the hotel. We travelled by bicycle. The hotel was totally prepared for this and offered us even a room to dry our stuff. The staff was exceptionally nice to us. The room was a bit small for two persons.
