- young (8/5): A great location and a cozy place for two - This apartment has an amazing location! You are a 3-5 min walk around the corner from Sante Croce, away from the bigger tourist crowds but close enough to walk to see the David. If you need to take a taxi, there is a stand at the square in front of Santa Croce. You have neighborhood coffee shops and lots of great restaurants close by. The apartment was small and a bit dated, but cozy and clean, with a small kitchen we used for pasta and risotto several times. The little balcony has two chairs and a table, facing an inner garden courtyard. With cats! Small but functional and lovely on a sunny day with a glass of wine. We didn't need a fancy place and came to read, write, and explore Florence. It was great for us! The kitchen needs a new knife, so if you're passionate about cooking, plan to bring your own or buy one. We made do with the small pots and bought spices. Some wine glasses would be good too, although it's stocked with mugs and other glasses. The shower is very small, so if you're 6ft like my partner, consider it an adventure. We found the loft bedroom fun, but he did have to duck up there too. Read the notes from the location, and make sure to air the apartment out when you can to keep it smelling fresh. It's older and gets musty, but airs out quickly.
- Ewan (7/5): Great location and has all the basics - Location was great. The TV was quite small for the space.
• The shower and especially the bath were very tight.
• The sitting area felt a bit awkwardly arranged for relaxing.
Kitchen electrical appliances a bit tired
- Andrew (5/5): Passable -
- Tarun (4/5): Average at best. Only good for location. - The location is great. Close to the Duomo so you're close to all the activity. Washing machine works. Hot and cold water. That's about it. The house is shabby at best. The lift does not work. The balcony hasn't been looked at in months it seems. The sofas are more or less unusable. The shower is weird and not easy to use. The balcony is useless and does not have a view. The bed area would be impossible to stand up straight in for anyone more the 5'6". The building door lock gets stuck every time and 2 of us had to hang from the doors to make it work every night! They have extra cleaning and other hidden costs that come up after the booking is made which doesn't really translate into extra cleaning of any kind. Refused to help us out with storing the luggage for a few extra hours post check out. The staff asks if everything is ok but doesn't do anything to try and help. The pictures on booking.com are absolutely false. It doesn't look nearly as clean. Basically just a place to crash for a few hours.
- Syd (9/5): Charming & peaceful loft with full terrace in the middle of frisky Florence. PERFECT for the price! - Amazing lofted room in a quiet little oasis of bustling Firenze! Steps from the spectacular Santa Croce cathedral and just a couple blocks from the Arno river. We thoroughly enjoyed the little terrace balcony and outdoor table overlooking the courtyard garden, especially for morning espresso when the sun would shine through the foliage. We were regularly visited by pigeons in the trees, and there was even a sweet resident cat in the garden below.
We loved the full kitchen and we took full advantage of the four-element gas stove here to cook our dinners. There are LOTS of kitchen supplies in the cupboards, including pots, pans, silverware, cutlery, a kettle, and more. The dining table was the perfect size for us, and the living room was arranged very comfortably with a cozy sofa, chair, and L-shaped seat. Groceries from the nearby Conad, PAM, and Carrefour supermarkets were surprisingly affordable and plentiful.
We also very much enjoyed the beautiful lofted bedroom, built from dark wood with a full-size staircase and dresser for guest use. There is a full bathroom with a shower/tub/bidet/washing machine downstairs as well. Pretty much all you could ask for!
We also had no trouble at all contacting the rental team via WhatsApp throughout our stay from arrival to checkout. There are very few negatives I can think of, except for minor things — e.g., the fridge is spacious but there is NO freezer; the shower is on the smaller side; there was no corkscrew in the unit to open wine; and there is no full-length mirror to check your appearance. If you care about television, the screen in this unit is rather small. Otherwise I can’t think of anything bad to say. Other reviews here seem unhappy about cleanliness, but I found it practically spotless. Bear in mind this is a converted apartment, NOT a hotel, so not everything in the unit is brand new.
