• CNicholls (10/5): An amazing experience - Firstly, the staff were unbelievable, they were attentive and helpful at every opportunity, from check in, to dinner and breakfast, and everything in-between. The rooms were very spacious, with a tatami room and western style room for twin beds. The dinner service was prompt, the food delicious, and an unforgettable experience. The breakfast buffet was also amazing, with a vast array of options, both savory and sweet (too many if you have a sweet tooth!) Saying goodbye!

Unfortunately, I tasted some of dishes tasted MSG(Ajinomoto). Also grilled dried fish(aji no himono)in the morning, they served, the quality wasn’t good. I tasted oxidized

• Spencer (10/5): A wonderful spa visit with lots of freebies! - We had an amazing time at this spa. The employees were friendly and helpful. There were so many free extras it was just a joy. Free sake and highball every night. Free tea and coffee 24/7. Free snacks, desserts and drinks throughout the day. The two different spas we experienced were very clean and comfortable.

• yu chak (10/5): - Perfect if you are driving, plenty of parking spaces. There are a few convenience stores nearby within 10 minutes walk and 3 minutes driving Onsen is great with alternation of men and women everyday so everyone can enjoy the massage bath. Breakfast is really good as well with more than usual options. Staff is helpful and reception will always have someone to help you should you need any help Make sure you grab the pudding every night. More vending machine selling milk will be better. There is only one and they sold out really quickly. Fresh milk after onsen is necessary.

• Johanna Sybille (4/5): Enttäuschung - Die Lage ist okay - nah am Bahnhof. Das Hotel ist ziemlich in die Jahre gekommen. Die Einrichtung war sicher einmal sehr schön, aber inzwischen veraltet und abgenutzt. Leider auch der Onsen-Bereich - den Preis definitiv nicht wert im Vergleich zu anderen Unterkünften in Beppu. Ich habe zwei Nächte in einem japanischen Zimmer gebucht und mich sehr auf ein Kaiseki Dinner im Zimmer gefreut. Auf mehrfache Nachfrage erhielt ich die Antwort "das sei in meinem Zimmer nicht möglich". Absolut enttäuschend.

• Patrick (10/5): Exceptional - Incredibly nice personnel, very helpful and welcoming. They do their best to help as much as possible and give good sightseeing recommendations. For Japanese standards, the hotel rooms are very spacious! The onsen and garden have a very charming character. Unfortunately, the gym is women only. I would be very happy if they could change it till I'm there next time. :)
• Layne (10/5): Service Extraordinaire! - Exceptional service from Manager Abe, staff personnel Thu, Nino, and Htar! Personal attention to our needs, ensuring we catch the correct bus to visit the infamous Hells of Beppu to our special anniversary dinner at Garland 12 on the 12F of the hotel. Also, many thanks to the two staff members from the souvenir shop on the 1F that took the time to fill out each of the shipping documents to send our 6 bags ahead to our hotel in Fukuoka, allowing ease of travel on the train back from Beppu! The buffet breakfast was a notch above other hotels in both quality and variety of dishes. Numerous drinks are offered during the extravagant buffet breakfast, welcome period in mid afternoon, and evenings from the lobby station on the 1F, such as coffee and teas, wines and sake, detox water drinks, amazake drinks for digestion, and high balls. Desserts are likewise plentiful and typical of Japanese bakers being subtly sweet and always pleasantly presented! Loved the onsen facilities, the alternating days assigned to the men’s and women’s public baths, especially the jacuzzi onsen and the beautiful open air baths. Next visit will definitely include a massage session! Our visit was timed to coincide with the seasonal blooming of various types of cherry blossom trees and 3 minutes away was Beppu Park, a visual delight of colors to behold in winding rows of tulips and colorful blossoms with grand backdrops of white Sakura trees. Simply magnificent and lifetime memories made during our visit! Dated ventilation system based on heat pumps. No split AC in rooms. If weather is cool, room is warmed by turning vent blower on. However, if you’ve just finished bathing and are heated up internally, you would open the window to allow cold air to enter. On a windless night, I discovered mosquitoes in the room, due to the open window. I think they should upgrade this situation.

• Chun (7/5): Proceed with caution before making your reservation? - The public bath / onsen that is available for use for hotel guests which I used both during the night and subsequent morning of my stay. The breakfast located at the 12th floor is great as well, with a variety of both Western and Japanese style breakfast available. I booked this hotel with the expectation that I will be staying in a Japanese style room. I'm not too sure how it works as I found out later that the room assignment falls under the hotel's operation,i.e., you couldn't pick your room via the Booking app. (Disclaimer: I suppose you could pick the room you'd prefer through their official website but I never explored whether it is feasible that way). And, the expectation I had was that it comes with a dinner (Kaiseki), I guess that's another misunderstanding I had. Another thing I guess is that the hotel doesn't really cater for solo travellers, reason being I was assigned a room with twin beds, which probably explains why the cost per night was higher than expected? There's also no kettle in your room, so you will need to go down to the lobby to take your coffee or tea which is available for 24 hours, compensating the lack thereof I guess...
• Philip (10/5): Excellent Hotel with large rooms, great staff and very good location. - Loved the staff...really great. Superb On Sen. Great breakfast from top floor restaurant. Very good sized rooms, for Japan. Not much. We would stay there again...
