Guest Reviews
- Curtis (9/5): would definitely recommend and would stay here again! - location was verry quiet and easy to find with big flags outside hard to miss in daytime. Bed was comfortable and was great for a single night stay. Room was clean and verry spacious. Would definitely stay here again if staying in the area again. only instruction that where given was how to access and where the key was located, nothing regarding official check in and check out.
- John (10/5): Perfect accomodations for a traveler needing a nice place for one night. Very convenient . -
- Kristy (10/5): Spacious stopover - The room is spacious and clean, the bed is comfoetable. There is coffee and a mini fridge and microwave. This is my swcond time staying there and I'll be back. Good location close ro I-95. The owners dogs do bark but I couldn't hear it inside rhw room.

- Bree (7/5): A nice little place to stay for a day or two - Convience of location. It is 15 mins from downtown Richmond.
It is a wonderful place to serve as a home base for a night or a weekend, especially if you are out all day to explore.
Management makes sure they communicate with you.
The room was big and roomy. The bed nice and comfy. It wasn't a problem for me, but for others, you will be in the less touristy area of Richmond. A decent area, from my perspective, but others might find it off putting.
And, again, not an issue for me, but, as you can see from the pictures, this is a house that has a converted a space upstairs. Don't expect it to be hotel clean, but they do a lovely job of keeping it nice and neat for guests.
Also, not sure if management lives there, but there are animals- there is a duck in a gated area and dogs that barked during the day but were very quiet at night. I think they also have a rabbit and a cat based on some of the homey pictures added in the room. This didn't bother me, but it could bother others, and I want to make sure this place gets nice reviews.

- Steven (10/5): Fantastic place to stay. Clean, cozy and quiet place in a great location. - This place was clean, cozy, and very quiet. It was fantastic, great layout and surprisingly spacious. The location was very ideal with several places within a few miles. Not much that wasn't appealing but I guess the AC unit could have been taken out.
- Suzy Song (10/5): - It was really nice!
Overall, my partner and I were very satisfied.
It’s a cute place, and you’ll be pleasantly surprised.
Don’t hesitate to book it.
- Baldry (10/5): - Very clean, great facilities and incredibly comfortable
- Briggs (9/5): Excellent stay in spacious unit with good facilities - Great size of unit with plenty of space; comfortable bed, ability to cook meal with nice dining table to eat at, easy access although stairs to the unit, good parking. Cutlery available but no knives. Only briefly met owner when leaving.
- sam (10/5): - Clean quiet affordable Door at end of stairs need to fixed doesn't close right.cannot flush soiled toilet paper in toilet
- Donald (1/5): Don't stay here! - Assortment of Coffees and I didn't have any . From the front the house looked a mess. Hard to find entrance to room Email sent to me with instructions how to get in went to Spam folder and I did not see it prior to arrival.. House hard to find at night after work business.....It was obvious that English was not the primary language of person there... difficult communication. Slow drain in shower.

- Jean (7/5): Over all, other than first doubtful impressions, it was a comfortable overnight stay. - There was no breakfast., however they did have a nice breakfast area with bowls , mugs, silverware,a toaster, coffee, and coffee maker. The refrigerator is a nice size too. The room was comfortable, clean, and the air conditioning worked fine. There were a flight of steps but we had no trouble with them. The bedroom area ceiling slopes, but again that was not a problem. The price for the place is not bad. When we arrived, it is just a house sitting by itself. We had not seen the email that was sent by the property owners from the previous day telling us which door to enter and that a key was in a box on the door and a code to get our key. Once I saw that, I was relieved. You can't put toilet paper in the toilet, but they give you a trash can right beside the toilet. There are old trailers, a few cars sitting in adjacent properties, but if you don't look out your window, you wouldn't even think about it. The pool has a few inches of water in it so I'm not sure why they say a pool is part of it. We were just stopping over on our way to the beach the next day, so we weren't planning on using the pool.

- Renier (9/5): Superb -
- Tao (10/5): Good - Very quiet. Nice . Friendly
- David (10/5): Very satisfactory. - Very spacious attic about 10 minutes Uber from Richmond CBD.
I was at a Conference at the Richmond Conference Centre. Magnolias was exceptionally good value. Nothing.
- Addie (10/5): A beautiful stay, made so incredibly special by the kind Magnolias. - The property was so cute !! It was an old style home and we got the entire upstairs. My partner and I planned for a Valentine’s Day trip, and without saying anything to the Magnolias, they fully decorated the stairs and bedroom for us. It was such a romantic and enjoyable stay. The family also had many pets and though only the duck was outside, I had the pleasure of being invited inside to meet all of the animals and they were so cute ! The Magnolias are truly amazing hosts. The first night I was there, on Valentine’s Day, my car randomly had trouble and as neither I nor my partner knew anyone in the area, we gave them a call. They were kind enough to send help for me and even showed up after their dinner to check on the situation and offer more help. Throughout my trip, they helped me again and even checked how I was doing once the problem was fixed. As a young traveler, I felt so grateful for their kindness and I am truly blown away by the sweet souls I met. Anyone who chooses to stay at this property is bound to be pleased. Absolutely nothing ! I have never stayed at a better place.
- Diamond (1/5): Didn't enjoy my stay not good hostes - They sexually harassed me
- Albert (9/5): Superb -
- Jean (10/5): Exceptional -
- Derryl (7/5): Nice place to stay near airport - I practice intermittent fasting so I don't eat breakfast
- Natasha (10/5): Exceptional - This airbnb was very nice, comfortable and private.
The owners are very nice and accommodating.
I especially loved the geese and cat on the property ☺️
- Caz (10/5): Great hosts , great extras such as snacks and drinks. - Everything great value for money. I think if they get a sofa bed and make it possible so a family can stay then that would be much more accessible as I would definitely go again with my teenage son. There is plenty of room to put a sofa bed in and even a fold away baby bed.
- Brandon (8/5): Very good -
- Ryan (6/5): Pleasant - We were able to check in with no issues. The bed, while comfortable was super squeaky
- Michael (10/5): Exceptional -
- Shah (9/5): Superb -
- Noemi (9/5): Superb - Close to the airport
- Daniel (9/5): Great value, comfy bed, caring host. - Very caring host. Provided free snacks in room. They even had instant noodles cup! The only slight downside is that you are in a neighborhood. Not a problem if you have a car to get to store or fast food.
- Winnie (8/5): The owner’s very nice and helpful. - Relatively close to my brother’s house.
His health was the purpose of my visit. The stairs to the attic apartment were somewhat difficult for this 72yr old woman. Mostly when I was taking up and bringing down my luggage.
- Nolen-henry (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sabrina (9/5): Loved my stay in this place. - Great ambience, all decorated with love to make you feel at home. Had everything you need welcomed. Good space, good bed and shower.
- Gary (10/5): Exceptional -
- Saliane (9/5): Great place to stay, friendly owner. - The spaciousness and attention to useful details that travelers need. Not being able to flush paper down the toilet. If I had stomach issues, or a period, this would definitely be a problem.
- Charles (8/5): Good private room in a shared home - Bathroom was freezing
- Clemence (8/5): Very good - Nice. Heating for chilly nights. Basket for pets. Large accommodation. Special Halloween decoration
Shops close on 9th mile avenue (by car)
Payment through Square app
- Jill (8/5): Very good - Location was fantastic 10-15 minutes drive to anywhere you want to go in Richmond. Clean and private entrance and the host was very responsive to all my questions. I would definitely stay again. The walls were very thin and when the family was home you could hear them as well as the dogs barking when they weren’t home.
- Yihc (10/5): Exceptional - Room is spacious and the location is convinent to go to downtown or neighbor cities by car None
- Nurys (8/5): Very good -
- Tony (10/5): Exceptional - Spacious, great bathroom, private. Great t v channels. Nice to have a breakfast nook, toaster, kettle. Maybe better signage on property
- Tony (10/5): Exceptional - The room and bathroom are very spacious. Had the whole top floor to ourselves. Lovely shower. Huge bathroom, hairdryer provided, nice soaps and lotions. Good little kitchen with kettle and toaster too. Great TV channels to choose from. Just thought maybe better signage out front. Otherwise every thing was great.
- Angel (9/5): Superb - Cozy room! Especially loved that they had whipped butter, the hosts were so nice!! Ants attracted to my cats food but once I moved it to a new spot it was okay.
- Shyam (1/5): Would not recommend this ‘motel’. Booking.com should be not tarnish it’s image by promoting such dwellings. We will n - nothing worth mentioning Property did not have a sign so wasn’t easy to locate. Had to call the property and the owner came to the street to show us the way. We were aghast to see a dirty yard with parked RVs. Our room was on top of a ramshackle building.
Our dwelling had sloping roofs and I could not walk upright without banging my head on multiple occasions. The bathroom was another disaster. Pipe protruding out of bathtub (a hazard). Dirty toilet seat. A sign is posted that states”don’t flush toilet paper” ( where then do we deposit them after use?). The tea/coffee supplies seem to have been purloined from sources like IHOP,7/11 etc.
- Dawn (8/5): Very good -
- Dimes (8/5): Very good -
- Lamier (10/5): Exceptional -
- Monika (9/5): Excellent apartment! - very clean, spacious and perfect for our 2-night stay. Thank you! nothing
- Kathleen (7/5): Good Value stay near Richmond - very private space in the home, good TV, lighting & shower, plenty of parking, corner nook to prepare our own breakfast. lots of room. very friendly hosts not sign posted at all so could easily miss the entrance , no eateries or supermarket nearby that we could find, quite a way out of Downtown but an easy drive
- Anonymous (8/5): Very good -
- Fernando (9/5): Superb - Very spacious place, we had our dog with us and having a yard and a park close by was nice. It was excellent value for money. Would visit again.
- Paul (8/5): Very good -
- Beverly (7/5): Good - location was somewhat out of Richmond city area
- Benedetta (10/5): Exceptional - The staff was really nice. They wanted to be sure that I had everything I needed during my stay.
