Guest Reviews
- Nicky (6/5): Brilliant Barn, one lovely host one wanted to ‘police’ us! - The property was well presented and had everything that you could want. The hot tub and pizza oven were amazing. The cottage was cozy and pristine with fluffy towels and bathrobes. The record player was a great touch.
When we arrived John greeted us warmly and provided milk for free as we’d forgotten some. The curry was amazing and John was very helpful and welcoming. My partner could only stay one night with me so the second night my niece asked if she could stay with me rather than with her family nearby. I thought it would be nicer than spending the night alone and she had her sleeping bag and slept on the sleeping platform. Upon leaving the next day we were accosted by the lady of the property, who did not even offer us a good morning but just interrogated us about where my niece had slept and said that the cushions on the sleeping platform were not meant for bare skin, my niece said that she had had a sleeping bag. The lady then said ‘well it would’ve been polite to be asked.’ I booked and paid for two people for three nights I do not see how it was her business if the people changed each night. My niece said that she felt like she was being told off by a school teacher. It was a shame as I’d saved up to come away for my 40th and it just ruined the vibe. I had told the owners that my family were joining me in the evening for pizza. They left when it was dark and had a toddler and two dogs so left somethings to collect the next day. A different niece collected them the next day and she was too accosted by the same lady. It really impacted our break as it made us feel like we were being watched and scrutinised and were not able to just relax and enjoy ourselves which after splashing out was not a great feeling.
It’s really a shame as otherwise it would’ve been a perfect weekend. I have worked in hospitality and retail for many years and even if I feel that a customer has done something wrong I am always polite and seek an amicable resolution.
- Leanne (9/5): Beautiful, serene, remote barn perfect for a mental reset. - The property, the surroundings and everything is absolutely incredible. The barn is cosy and peaceful, a complete oasis where you really don’t need anything to fill your days - it’s perfect for relaxing with a good book, good company and plenty of walking.
Definitely PAY ATTENTION to the instructions about the Track by the host, I’m a confident driver, driven down many complicated roads/tracks and this one made me pay attention - it was fun 😅. I drive an XC40 and it was inches either side. The host explains this (my mum tired brain did not read) clearly throughout so please do read and assess your vehicle! They tell you exactly what will/won’t fit. My partner walked the route and it’s so much easier with a guide.
100% recommend this place and hosts are fabulous ☺️
- Jade (10/5): Serene beauty in secluded spot. - Beautiful cottage with everything you need for a relaxing, peaceful and cosy stay. The complimentary treats and bubbly on arrival was a lovely touch. I can’t wait to come back again for a summer visit next year!
