Guest Reviews
- Pickel (10/5): - Alles

- Rosie (10/5): A charming farmhouse and family - The family were exceptionally welcoming and accommodating. The apartment was spacious and well appointed. They left a very thoughtful card when we arrived as it was our honeymoon and flowers freshly picked from their garden. We had lovely generous meals delivered a couple of times for an extra charge. They surprised us with a few treats, too, like homemade cake. The fresh milk from the farm daily was great. They gave helpful advice about where to visit and were very friendly and warm. The farm is set in a beautiful remote location at high altitude, and you can see the stars and hear the cow bells at night. There is a beautiful hike to the nearby village where you can get good food that begins from the farm. But only for the reasonably fit! Trauttmansdorff castle is accessible within about an hour and the spa at Merano. A nice local eatery with an amazing view a short drive away. Bolzano is relatively close for groceries and plenty to do there. San Michele is about a 20 min drive and you can get pizza to go or eat lovely food in the restaurants there. We also managed to visit Lago di Carezza, Alpi di Siusi and the Torri di Vajolet. We also saw Otzi in the Bolzano archeaological museum and visited the beautiful cathedral there. On our way to our next stop we stopped at Trentinto and saw the tower and museum there. The location is not the most accessible for day trips in the Dolomites, being so remote, but it probably wouldn'tbe an issue for morning people which I am not! It is a good 30 min drive from Bolzano zig zagging up the mountain. It also goes through a forest track and has rather scary signs like "beware of wolves" and "beware of bears". Google maps is of no use in getting here you must follow the signs. In reality the owners have never seen a bear and wolves are a rarity. Still it was a bit of a scary first drive up at night after a thunderstorm. We tried to be back before sunset each night because it can be a bit of a scary drive after dark but a few times we did come back after dark and it was fine once you are used to it. Also just bear in mind that it takes half an hour to get to a main road before you can start your journey elsewhere. That was the only drawback of this place. We got used to it within a few days. I would say just make sure the location works with what you're intending to do each day and your driving skills. If you're intending to stay local in South Tyrol and do maybe the odd day trip further afield, it works fine. If you want to go to eg. Alpi di Siusi or the Torri di Vajolet it will add half hour to your journey time compared to staying in Bolzano so just do your research first and plan your itinerary. Only other slight snag was that the family mainly spoke German so communication in Italian or English is a bit tricky but we got by.
- Elizabeth (10/5): Exceptional -
- Vitaly (10/5): Exceptional - We had a great stay! The apartment was superb, and the Gaiser family were warm and welcoming. Thank you!
- Anat (9/5): a great location for a relaxing vacation - the hosts are very nice, friendly and generous. already when showed us around my daughters loved the place, which has attractions for them: cows, cats, rabbits, trampoline etc.
the house is very well equipped, we cooked at the house sometime and did a barbecue also.
the village is located in a beautiful area, each drive to and from the house is a trip :)
