I had the Scottish breakfast and was very satisfied as it was quite delicious! Friendly staff and beautiful interior and atmosphere. I highly recommend Blackfriars for you next visit to Inversness! I dont like the fact that we were not able to spend more time there in Inverness! SO maybe nextime we can stay longer :)

• Emanuela (9/5): Where comfort meets Highland hospitality - From the facilities to the staff, Blackfriars offered us one of the best experiences we’ve had in the Scottish Highlands. Located just a few minutes from Inverness train station, it’s perfectly situated close to the town’s main attractions. The room was cosy, spacious, clean, and quiet—despite being right above the pub. The pub itself offers excellent breakfast, as well as great options for lunch and dinner (plus live music). The staff are warm, friendly, and very welcoming. The maintenance rooms were just outside our bedroom, so there was some noise from the morning cleaning.

• Mattwenna (6/5): Au moins, on est vacciné de l'envie d'avoir un bébé. - Les lits étaient très confortables, le personnel absolument adorable et extrêmement réactif. L'emplacement est parfait et incroyable, et la nourriture vraiment très bonne, meilleure qu'ailleurs. Manque d'insonorisation : nous entendions les réveils, les bébés et tous les déplacements des autres. L'espace dans la salle de bain est restreint, quelques petits insectes dans la chambre, petit déjeuner cher suivant ce qui est pris. Attention, pas de parking pour l'hôtel. Le parking le plus proche est payant et uniquement en pièces.

• W (9/5): Great Location - The location is great for downtown and busing. The staff was very accommodating and helpful with directions and luggage. Food at the restaurant is also excellent.
• George (2/5): Very disappointing. - No breakfast I stay in different hotels in Inverness on a regular basis and this was the worst that I have stayed at. The bedroom was extremely noisy both from external traffic noise but more so from constant creaking floor boards from the residents above. I had a long busy day but was not able to sleep until the early hours.
• Wendy (7/5): Good B&B with great staff but you need to adjust expectations given the age/design of the building - Pros: very central, handy locations, lovely staff, comfy room, nice decor, big bathroom for the size of my room. I didn't try the food for dinner but the bar location is nice, with a decent breakfast. Cons: given the age and design of the building, there were some minor issues e.g. I didn't have hot water/radiators for the first day (this was fixed immediately when reported then worked great); *very* loud, creaky old floorboards and thin walls mean neighbours' movements/noises are easily heard; decor and size of window in the room makes it quite dark; slightly stale damp smell comes from the bathroom so need to constantly leave the window open.

• Hannah (7/5): Fairly decent stay - Staff friendly. Conveniently located. In general clean. I stayed on two separate occasions in one week, I was given the same room. The first stay there was cobwebs in multiple areas of the room. I tried to assume they were new. Upon my second visit, 3 days later the exact same cobwebs where still there, this made me doubt the overall cleanliness and I was not so relaxed on my second visit.

• Jennifer (9/5): We had a very good time at Blackfriars and would recommend it to others travellers. - Blackfriars was in a perfect location for exploring Inverness. We could walk from the train station and walk easily to the castle and along the river. Breakfast was excellent and the room was clean and comfortable although there was a big difference in space compared to our room and my kids room which was bigger and had space for sitting. So there is a variation in the size of the rooms. But it was very comfortable for a couple of nights of a short break. So no big complaints and would stay again if visiting Inverness mainly because it was so close to everything we wanted to do in Inverness. We were a little disappointed that the room was not ready for check-in time and the staff weren't really on the front foot for suggesting we leave our bags and head out to explore, but once we realised that the rooms were not going to be ready we asked if we could store our bags stored and went out for a walk.

• Benjamin (10/5): Had a great time! Coming back again. - The location is super central. Only 15 mins from the airport by car. There is a public parking 🅿️ 3 mins walk away (£8 per day max). A nice little pub/restaurant right in the house is also great for having some food or a drink. I did not hear any noise at any time and my room was right above. Staff is super friendly and gave me some great recommendations for my trip to the Highlands. Really enjoyed my stay. Thank you :)

• Fam_travellers (1/5): Cold room, poor service, and broken promises - The location. It is easy to reach pubs and restaurants but the city is very tiny. The Experience: We booked what we thought was a hotel, but it is actually guest rooms above a bar/restaurant Upon arrival in 0°C weather with three children, we waited over 5 minutes for the bartender to finish serving drinks before we could check in; although they mention a "reception" at the entrance, the check-in is actually just a section beside the bar counter. The room was freezing; the radiators were barely lukewarm. Despite being told the heating "needed 30 minutes," it never warmed up. Management acted surprised, but when I checked, previous reviews showed the same room type had the same issue in the previous days.. Although they initially proposed, no electric heater was available (guess why), so our family of five was offered only a single extra blanket for the night (which I refused as it almost seemed insulting as a solution for me). The Room Condition: The room is not well-maintained, but we didn't even mention this at the time as we were preoccupied with the lack of heat. After a night with no good sleep due to the cold, we had a freezing wake-up the following morning and tried to leave as soon as possible, making clear that they had to do something about it while we were away for the whole day. The Refund Deception: The heating was finally fixed for the second night. At check-out, the host acknowledged the unacceptable first night and proactively offered a 50% refund. They instructed me to request it through Booking.com since the payment was handled there. However, once the formal request was made, the host reneged on their word and refused to authorize the refund they had suggested. Summary: You are paying hotel prices for a guest house /b&b room with unreliable facilities and management that does not honor its word. I would strongly recommend staying elsewhere. Not sure what the owner might comment but obviously I have no interest in saying something which is not true or different from the experience I had.

The stair leading to the first floor bedrooms was very dark and lighting didn’t come on until you were half way down which made it difficult to see. Also the central heating in the bedroom didn’t work. A stand alone heater was provided but didn’t want to leave on when out the room so every time you entered the bedroom it was cold.

Personal muy amable. Ofrecen estacionamiento pero es a dos cuadras. La habitacion que nos toco chillaba todo el piso de madera (como un barco) y estaba torcido el piso del baño, y en algunas zonas de la habitacion habia huecos por debajo de las maderas. Las camas incomodisimas y a la noche salian los borrachos a la calle a gritar hasta al menos la 1am.
