- Amanda (2/5): - Location How dirty and unkept the property was
- Julian (10/5): -
- Ingrid (2/5): Grotty and old. - Convenient location Grotty and old. We paid for an early check-in but the house wasn’t ready.
- naomi (4/5): - The layout was the only best thing about the whole experience The bathroom wall wasn't attached to the skirting board bottom base the floors felt like they were going to collapse under my feet the owners were directly below us and we could hear absolutely everything it was kind of unsettling for me and my partner there was no information about the owners being below us so we were blindsided by that

- Dianne (10/5): Great place to stay, cute cottage - Location was easy to get too
- Mikaila (9/5): Perfect for a warm and cozy winter getaway - Lovely place to stay. Looks even nicer inside than in the photos. The ducted heating, hot water, kitchen appliances, WiFi and TV all worked great. The fire place was really nice as well.
- Nirosh M (10/5): "A cozy and beautiful cottage with complete privacy. we will surly be back - "A cozy and beautiful cottage with complete privacy. The rooms were spotless and well-kept, and a special thanks to the host for having the house warm on our arrival. All my friends absolutely loved the place and are already looking forward to coming back!" "Hey! Just a small suggestion — it would be super helpful to clear the garden a bit more for easier access, especially since we arrived late and it was pitch dark. Maybe trimming the shrubs along the walkway and adding a couple more solar lights on the path to the cottage would make a big difference. Thanks!"

- Andy (3/5): Not 5 star accommodation. - Position. Unfinished renovations and internal cables all over the place especially in the lounge doorway.
- Lily (1/5): Horrible experience – Locked out on my birthday, partial refund only - I booked one night at Sister Cottage through Booking.com for $315, planning to celebrate my birthday there with friends. However, when we arrived at the property, we were not given the key code to enter the house.
We immediately tried to contact the host — she answered the phone once and hung up on us, then completely ignored our calls. We stood outside the cottage for over an hour, unable to get in, on what was supposed to be a special day. This was deeply frustrating, disrespectful, and unacceptable.
With no way to access the property, we had no choice but to leave and cancel our celebration plans. The next day, we requested a full refund through Booking.com. They agreed — but on July 1st, I only received $120, far short of the $315 I paid.

- Italiapj (6/5): Cute but disappointing - The location was good, the kitchen facilities were good and the beds were comfortable. It was a cold winter night and we had to sit in our puffer jackets because the heating wasn't working and it took a while to get instructions via SMS reply that we had to go outside to turn the heater on at the mains, this detail was not in the welcome email.
The open fireplace was lovely, but the wood provided was damp and wouldn't catch!!
The house was cute but had an old house odour.
- Marijana (7/5): Good - Cosy and cute little house and close to all facilities The pillows were way too hard and the coffee pods didn’t fit the machine 😢
- Ashlea (8/5): Cosy, serene, old world charm cottage in nature. - Great location, cosy, comfortable cottage. Big windows that look out at the trees, absolutely beautiful. Big sized bedrooms, kitchen was huge and had everything you needed. The path to get to the cottage had lots of garden and trees, was very secluded. You cannot see the cottage from the road, you need to drive down a steep driveway that is on a funny angle, then you will see a shed and other cars and then need to walk down a bushy path to find the place. There was someone staying underneath the cottage and they had dogs which made our dogs bark at every sound.
- Sophie (10/5): Perfect location if you want to visit local gardens. - Such a quaint cottage, nestled amongst greenery and lovely trees. Felt like home.
- Bryce (10/5): I highly recommend The Sister Cottage - We had a wonderful three-night stay at The Sister Cottage. From the beginning to the end, Renee’s communication was excellent and made us feel very welcome. The location is amazing, just a short distance from the lookout. The house has a charming atmosphere with breathtaking views of the surrounding forests. My favorite part was definitely the kitchen, which is also very charming and offers gorgeous views. I spent a lot of time cooking there. The large TV in the living room was perfect for cozy nights on the couch. The rooms were great - we only used the master. The bed was super comfy, and the heated blanket was a lovely addition, making it hard to get out of bed, haha. We enjoyed our stay so much that we’ve already booked our second visit. I highly recommend The Sister Cottage!
- Michael (9/5): Superb -
- Scott (9/5): Superb - Everything was good, lots of communication with Renee so thank you.
- Catherine (8/5): Very good - Lovely old house, in a nice setting. Garden a little overgrown done the path and could have been cleaner with spider webs etc.
- Jeanette (8/5): It was a great vibe and me and my 2 adult children will remember our stay and time spent together. - I liked that me and my children had a room each, it had all amenities and was great inside. We had a lovely stay and evening chatting outside. I felt the garden could have been trimmed up a bit. We spent the evening chatting outside and researching which snakes would bite us and what to do if it happened. Really it was a lot of fun. We're from NZ so granted, snakes are a novelty for us.
- Sleepeasy (7/5): Quaint cottage in the trees - A lovely renovated cottage with charming features and lovely aspect in the trees. Lovely french provincial feel. A little rustic and no fly wires on the windows.
- Grace (8/5): Very good - spotlessly clean and very quaint
- Julie (10/5): Lovely - The feel of the place, furniture, views. Everything was terrific May need to have fly screen at front door. Due to the hot weather i liked having the door open however this allowed the insects to also enjoy Stillwater lol
- Julie (10/5): Exceptional - Every thing Nothing
- Deneta (8/5): The host’s customer service and communication was excellent. Renee was very helpful and a pleasure to deal with. We had - The views from inside and surrounding gardens to walk through were absolutely beautiful and peaceful. The two goats at the bottom of the hill at the back are gorgeous! Lovely art on the walls and comfy couch! The shower screen door didn’t close/return. It’s glass, so that was a little unsettling.
- Kay (9/5): The best place to have a peaceful break away. - I had to call to ask how to open the lock, was so pleased to receive a kind and helpful response. What a lovely cottage, everything was beautifully presented. A thought, as a partially disabled person a grab rail to assist climbing in and out of the bath/shower would have been a great help. Although the steps to the entry were a bit high, maybe a hand rail would help as well.
There wasn't anything "not to like"
- Roselle (5/5): Lovely place but a felt bit creepy as if someone had been sleeping there just before I arrived. - The bed was comfy, the heated seat on the toilet, boiling hot water, amazing heating, good kitchen, lovely view. Parking on the road, each day my windscreen wipers were pulled off my windshield. The lock box was very hard to open, lots of unfinished renovations going on. The downstairs room was un made and had not been cleaned, I need up changing the bed myself. Very limited kitchen supply’s. The shower didn’t have a mixing tap and it was hard to regulate the temperature. The open fire had been lighting on arrival and the house was full of smoke not great for asthma sufferers like myself, took a long time to get rid of the smoke. The down stairs doors were unlocked on arrival, felt a bit creepy. The bed side lamps didn’t work. The floors had not been vacuumed. It’s a nice space and these are small silly things, the owner was apologetic about this and offered to fix these things up but I let it go. It’s quirky and in a lovely part of the world.
- Janet (2/5): We booked for 2 nights and stayed for only one as it wasn’t up to standard. - Nice location The list is too long but I suspect the ratings system has been doctored to rate as high as it does because it’s very poor inside and out.
- Shane (9/5): Excellent stay for a family gathering close by. Easy access and definitely recommend. - Beautiful and peaceful. Well equipped and very comfortable
