• Victor Razvan (10/5): Quiet Cretan experience - We were greeted very warmly by Kostas and Demetra. The place is even better than the pictures, because you can't imagine how beautiful and serene the view is. And low light pollution so you can see all the stars at night! There's even an telescope provided by the gracious hosts. Not to mention the quietness, only hearing bells from goats. This is why we chose the place. Also we wanted some middle-way between Heraklion and Chania, and even so we could not see all the places we saved so we will have to come back. The place was spotless clean and all utilities present + a few newcomer gifts too. Thanks for everything! It has been mentioned before, appliances are a bit dated.
• PANAGIOTIS (10/5): - Ένα υπέροχο σπίτι που προσφέρει την άνεση και την ηρεμία που χρειάζεται μια οικογένεια για να κάνει όμορφες διακοπές !! Ένα κατάλυμα που οι ιδιοκτήτες του έχουν φροντίσει με πολυ μεράκι και αγάπη να μην λείπει τίποτα που μπορεί να χρειαστεί ο Επισκέπτης. Αξίζουν Συγχαρητήρια στον Ιδιοκτήτη του Σπιτιού που διαθέτει τέτοιο εξοπλισμό σπιτιού, αλλα έχει σκεφθεί ακόμη και το να έχει ομπρέλες θαλάσσης, μπάλες,μέχρι και παυσίπονα !!! Ένα απο τα καλύτερα καταλύματα διακοπών που έχω μείνει ποτε !!!
• Λαγός (10/5): - Πανέμορφο σπίτι μέσα στο πράσινο πολύ ήσυχη τοποθεσία ότι πρέπει για ξεκούραση και χαλάρωση!!!
• cristina (10/5): Splendida villa greca immersa nel verde di Fidene - Casa fornita di ogni confort (lavatrice, lavastoviglie, piccoli elettrodomestici da cucina, zanzariere, barbecue etc). Giardino esterno ben curato con un meraviglioso patio dove mangiare. Il proprietario molto cortese e disponibile. Consiglierei di sostituire il frigorifero e la lavastoviglie perché un pochino datati.
• lilah (10/5): חוויה מושלמת לאוהבי השקט והפרטיות - הבית ניפלא, יש בו כל מה שצריך ועוד. בית עם אנרגיות טובות פרטיות ושקט מוקף בגן גדול ועצים נוף הרים וטבע סביב. הכפר ממש קרוב ומציע את כול השירותים: מינימרקט, מאפיה טברנות וחנויות. המקום משרה הרגשה טובה, נקי ומסודר מאוד. המארח קשוב . מקום שעושה חשק להשאר עוד! אהבנו הכול

• Lynne (10/5): Just fabulous! - the villa was in a fabulous location, had all the amenities you could need and more. Owner was super helpful and accommodating There is nothing we didn't like!
• Simona (9/5): A great house in a beautiful setting - The house is beautiful and so is the surrounding area. We really enjoyed eating on the terrace in the evening, while looking at the goats passing by (that was particularly entertaining for our kids). Kostas is a great host, he was always very friendly and helped with any matter we contacted him about. One thing that needs to be mentioned is how well-equipped this house is: from beach toys and equipment all the way to mosquito repellent, spare batteries, and superglue - the house has it all!! It also has a brand-new washing machine. One major problem for us all was that there is only one air conditioning unit in the whole house, which is in the living room. In order to be able to sleep, we had to leave all room doors open and have the A/C on from the afternoon onwards, which is also what the host recommended doing. However, not only did this mean we didn't have much privacy in the rooms (since we had to sleep with the doors open) but we could not really control the temperatures in the various rooms in a meaningful manner...As environmentally conscious people, we would have liked to use the A/C in a more controlled manner.
• Ioana (10/5): A real experience, not just a house! - The location is amazing: in the hills, in the middle of a beautifully landscaped garden. It is just minutes away from the Fodele beach (not a crowded one, very good prices, great views) and minutes away from the village where you can get anything you want and eat at several restaurants. The house itself is extremely well thought, good space, nice solid furniture, it feels like a house, not a hotel. A lot of character and anything you might need is there. You don't get just a house, you get a property and a whole experience. The kitchen has any appliance you can think of and there are also plenty of supplies. I also appreciated the small library (travel guides but also novels in various languages). I got my hands on an Agatha Christie novel I had not read before :) and we loved the telescope to admire the moon. You have a choice of terraces or maybe give them up and choose the hammock under the olive trees or (like my kids) be an adventurer and go up on the house itself. You can pick your own lemons, limes, grapes and pomegranate. I barely saw my kids once we were there: they had so much to explore, so many hidden places to discover. Despite all these great things, it is our host Kostas that should receive the main praise: for his kindness, availability, generosity. We loved the pottery lesson and are very proud of our 'artistic' achievements. Thank you, Kostas, for sharing with us your house and your passion! The stay was great but three words of warning: 1. if you don't like hearing sheep and goats walking in the hills in the morning and in the evening then this is not the place for you (we loved it!) 2. the air conditioning is only available in the living room, not the bedrooms so for those that handle heat badly, it might be difficult (we made used of the lovely shutters during the day) and used the fans provided at the house during the night. 3. if you are a timid driver, beware! the access to the house is up a steep drive so you'll need all your horses. I had rented a small car and had to turn off the A/C and get my daughter out of it so I can make it all the way up (good for her legs, anyway).

Just amazing! - It’s feels like home, full equipment, a lot of space, specious tarase with beautiful view. amazing garden. host and his wife are the best people in whole world. we spent with them great evening on learning and doing pottery. It is very clean and well-kept house. All you need is right is there. We will remember this place for a long time ———
• Oliver (9/5): Superb - Kostas house was truly a home away from home. A great property a bit away from everything. The house is very cosy and has everything that you need. Kostas is such an extraordinary host and even bought a small swimming pool for our kids to cool down. He also offered to come by and make a pottery class with us. It was such a lovely evening with him and his wife. There is beach equipment available so you don't need to buy anything. The beach of Fodele is only 3 min by car away, where you can enjoy a good swim (the only place where we found umbrellas and sunbeds for free). Up the road there is an idyllic village with a new playground in the woods and tavernas where you can enjoy a dinner at a little river. The house is a great location to discover Crete. Heraklion, Rethymno, Bali - you can easily visit these places from here.
• Kathryn (10/5): Beautiful place to relax - Bougainvilla is a stunning place to stay, even better than the photos suggest. Every room was beautifully furnished, with delightful artwork and ornaments to add a homely touch. The kitchen is well equipped, perfect for self-catering (although with so many lovely tavernas within 15 minutes walk we ate out every day). The main bathroom is gorgeous and has the added bonus of a washing machine. The walk in shower in the en suite was excellent and there was always hot water. Best of all were the verandah and terraced gardens, where we spent most of our time, overlooked by no-one but a few goats! The views were amazing in all directions. The host was extremely friendly and helpful and made us feel at home, straight away. The area is very peaceful and relaxing. Fodele is a 15 minute walk away, as is the El Greco musem-both worth a visit. Fodele beach (3 mins by car) is lovely-not too busy or commercialised and the sea is great for swimming. If you are planning to visit this area, Bougainvilla is the perfect place to stay.
• John (10/5): Will be back if we come to Crete again - This is a beautiful villa in a lovely quiet location yet just a couple of minutes off the main road. The host could not be nicer. Easily the best place we have stayed in many years of travel.
• Secrieriu (10/5): A beautiful house with very nice surroundings - The house is very beautiful, Kostas (our very welcoming host) paid great attention to both aesthetic and functional details. We spent a long time on the nice terrace and admired the view and the plants and we enjoyed the sound of the bells made by the goats and sheep in the surroundings. Quick access by car on the European road to multiple beaches and picturesque villages, and also to big cities like Herakllion (where you can visit the palace of Knossos and the archeology museum) and Rethymno. We had a very pleasant stay, thank you Kostas! Nothing
