- Berengaria (7/5): Mid range price but more than I have usually paid on South Coast - First time in Hastings, walkable distance from station. There for a theatre performance so only staying overnight. Perfectly clean room and comfortable bed, had en suite with bath & sink but separate toilet thru another door.
TV and tea and coffeemaking available. Arrived at locked front door, told through intercom to collect a key from a security box on outside wall. No normal check-in, had to find my way up some stairs to room. Didn't see a real person until leaving in a.m. (but to be fair, owner hobbling about on crutches). Had not booked B&B but sign on dining room door said no food available. I'd have been annoyed to have booked a breakfast and not had it.
When opening window it swung right over the bed, frame & ledge grubby, left dirty bits on bedsheet.
View at rear over small lane with sleazy shops.
No indication anywhere of checkout time.

Very clean comfortable
Great location
- Tomo (9/5): Second stay here and I’ll be back again… - Keith & Wendy are very friendly and helpful. They arranged for my late check-in, and kindly stored my bags in a secure location on my check-out day.
Room 10, where I have now stayed twice, seems to get mixed reviews due to being on the very top floor… but it’s nice and quiet, and I was very comfortable.
The facilities in the room were good - a kettle, hairdryer, good wifi and a nice hot shower. I had everything I needed.

- Cristina (9/5): -
- Terence (1/5): Not good value. - Not a lot! Noisy rattle in windows all night.
Uncomfortable beds.
Squashed in shower/toilet.
No breakfast!
£99.00 per night each room.
Grumpy welcome...

- Laura (10/5): Solo Weekend - I had a lovely 3 nights away at Alexanders and they upgraded me to double room with sea view which I wasn't expecting. Very lovely stay and will definitely stay next time. N/A
- Udo (8/5): Schön Urlaubsort im Sommer - Super Lage am Meer gelegen
- Mark (8/5): Peaceful - Breakfast was excellent. Owners were very friendly. Great location.
- Umar (6/5): - Standard two to maximum three star property Parking difficulties around the area
Heating got turned off at midnight till 0630 in the morning on a bitterly cold night
- Leslie-Ann (9/5): It was most enjoyable. - It has a unique charm and history which I enjoyed. The location is perfect and the owners made me feel really comfortable. Lovely breakfast as well. It is better not to bring too much luggage because there are a lot of stairs, but that is part of it's charm. If you wish to stay in a century plus inn, then be prepared to take your time and walk up the beautiful staircase.
- Khadijah (9/5): Really beautiful sea front room view. Great location. Quick resonses from host. Self check in option. - Really beautiful view of the sea from “sea front view room” - really accessible to the beach, too. Self check in made my stay easier and I had the option to leave my bag when I checked out. Really quick responses from host when I had queries. Very close to town centre. Beautiful hotel - it’s a shame I had to leave!
- Nigel (9/5): Ideal central location and very welcoming. - Very clean, well serviced.
- Theodora (9/5): Very comfortable and enjoyable. - The owners, Keith and Wendy, were very friendly and kindly gave me a room with a view and balcony which was lovely. It was so nice to listen to the waves when lying in bed - the road outside was surprisingly quiet. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom immaculate. Very handy location - good for both the Old Town and St Leonards (Kings Road is fantastic for junk/vintage shops). I very much enjoyed my stay.
- James (8/5): Nice - Location and sea view. Nothing. The property was fine.

- Laura (10/5): -
- Gary (8/5): Comfortable room with a mini fridge nice touch - Good location Bathroom to small
- Carrol (9/5): - Everything was amazing. My only complaint is a VERY personal preference. The mattresses are firm. A lot of people love a firm mattress. It makes sense for them to have firm beds.
- Paul (10/5): - Great location for town, beach and parking.
- Tove (8/5): - Lovely owners, lovely dog! And the location is fantastic.
- Rouge (8/5): -
- Zihan (10/5): Good -
- Anthony (9/5): - Wendy, Keith a ( and Misty the dog) were very welcoming. The room was perfect fir what I needed and I enjoyed breakfast. No negatives for me⁸
- Alexandra (9/5): -
- Rebecca (10/5): Very comfortable and clean stay! - The bed was really comfortable. Everything was clean and tidy. The staff were really friendly. Definitely somewhere I would stay again!
- Alex (10/5): - Owner is a llovely chap.
- Dominic (8/5): -
- Sue (6/5): Pleasant stay, however, expensive for the condition of the room - Bed was really comfortable. The hotel was tired in its decor and the windows need replacing to keep the road noise out. Generally needs updating.
- Peter (9/5): good comfortable stay - Good clean accommodation and great value for money
- William (10/5): - Clean...I accidently went into the hotel next door and I quickly realized what a nice hotel the Alexander is...plus they have a cool dog! Nothing
- pete (5/5): Enjoyable, no complaints or major issues - Good location. 24 hour access. Great sea view from room. Decor and carpets need update and deep clean.
- Hitch (10/5): - Everything Nothing rain and wind
- Eden (8/5): - Comfortable, clean, easy access and good location. Staff were super friendly, which is what I liked most.
- owen (7/5): - breakfast finished too early for us shower was not v clean, & fixings were falling apart
- Linda (8/5): -
- Noratoon (10/5): -
- Cap (5/5): Ok location, but shabby, unclean and quite expensive - The location was ok, but right on a junction. Need to bring ear plugs For the price, the hotel and the room was not in a great state. Carpets were stained and the bathroom had black mould in places and the vent was thick with dust.
- Paul (8/5): -
- Pauline (4/5): Great location - Location is great. Sea facing room
Beds comfortable and clean Bathroom needs total refurbishment! Every time we tried to use, the door fell off the runner. (Had to call to get it fixed) . Also lots of mould around it and generally a new shower is needed.
We were on 2nd floor. No lift and lots of stairs so totally unsuitable for anyone with mobility issues
- Kevin (8/5): - Location Was excellent for beach and parking
Old town was a nice distance for a walk ao Was all good
- John (8/5): Nice stay - Nice room very cosy
- Dirk (8/5): - Sehr zentrale Lage, gutes Frühstück, gute Organisation
- Dylan (8/5): -
- Siobhan (7/5): We really enjoyed our stay, lovely little family room with sea views which are a real treat - The location is excellent, sea views are lovely & a real treat, seaside charm! Nice well looked after hotel on the sea front. On a very windy stormy night, the noise from the windows was really whistling & made it difficult to sleep. Noise from the road but that can’t be helped & may be alleviated with improved windows.
- Barbara (5/5): - Location good
Room clean and bed comfortable Hot and cold water was inefficient
- Peter (7/5): - First time at Alexander's, only met Keith (owner) outside with misty the lab nice man, very imformative on the area, with recommendations for food an bars, they have this info in the rooms too (very helpful).
Rooms were very clean mini fridge inside as well, showers were amazing, loads of hot water an great pressure, only downside but not a problem for us!, no lift so if your higher than the 2nd floor an you've had a few beers or cocktails the stairs are a bit of a cardiac workout but again Keith an Wendy have placed a chair on each landing to take a breather, great location, we would definitely stay there again.
Didn't try the breakfast so no feedback there. I didn't like the stairs but they weren't a problem, just a bit of workout, chairs are provided on each landing if you need a breather.
- Howard K (8/5): -
- Radoslaw (7/5): -
- Javier (8/5): Great value, comfortable and great location - Seafront location, friendly family with a nice dog You will have to walk a lot of stairs if you’re in a high floor, as it’s tall ceilings and there’s no lift
- Karim (7/5): -
- Rebecca (4/5): - Location was good No mention of breakfast changed time. So our family missed breakfast by 10 minutes. Considering I spoke to the manager the night before, especially staying, we wanted breakfast. There was no communication regarding the change of times. You are given 1 hour for breakfast... 8 am til -9am , which is ridiculous. We got downstairs at 9.05am which we thought breakfast was being served until 9.30am. When we got downstairs the lady was quite rude where we hear her say
- Mark (9/5): -
- Vacheva (9/5): Best sleep I had in a hotel, very comfortable. The host was very welcoming and friendly :) -
- Clark (10/5): -
- Karen (7/5): - Sea view, clean rooms, friendly proprietor Slightly outdated; in need of some refurbishment
- Rebecca (8/5): -
- Thomas (9/5): Superb -
- Tim (8/5): Very good -
- Ellis (6/5): It served its purpose - Price No one there to advise had to rely on text message to get key code after I had told them I would be arriving between 5 and 6 I in fact arrived at 5.30. No milk for drink on the second morning and no one to ask for more. The bedside lamps did not work and next to a noisy road.
- Bryony (9/5): Good, clean accommodation and great hosts - The property was in a very goo location for the Old and New towns and obviously the seafront. The hosts were very friendly and accommodating also the dog Misty was adorable. The breakfast was freshly cooked and good quality. The property is a listed building so there is no lift which makes it hard work if you are on the top floor going up all the stairs
- Joe (8/5): Very good - Everything was fine, nice handy location, perfect for a short stay. The bed was comfortable enough. Would recommend 👍 Nothing wrong with my room. Had trouble sleeping because of some traffic noise. I did have headphones so it wasn't too bad
- Bean (8/5): So lucky to get a late booking at the ideally located hotel - Location perfect, Keith and Wendy very friendly and parking nearby very easy- either directly outside the hotel or 75m walk to underground car park (shut 2300-0700). Very reasonable price per day as well.
Hotel is across the road from the beach - easy walk to old town and loads to see and do on the beach itself. Ideal.
- Kathryn (8/5): Very good -
- Jarvis (8/5): Very good for my purposes. - Location very convenient to walk to White Rock Hotel where friends were staying.
Also not too far away from the town shops and restaurants.
Good value for money.
Small fridge was a great idea !
Fan was good for the warm evenings Very noisy motorbikes up and down the road during evenings and night !
Hastings Town Council should do everything they can to curb this noise !!
Anywhere else this noise would be regarded as a public nuisance and fines should be issued to the noisy motorcyclists.
Shower curtain smelt of mould / musty smell. Wash with bleach to kill the smell or replace curtain with new.
No electric shaver power socket. I wasn't able to have a shave during my stay !
- Long (1/5): Bad - Nothing. Thanks host had bad attitude and was rude. Would never stay there again or recommend it Well over priced for what it was. Never had such a small room
- Miriam (7/5): Value for money. - Value for money, very clean. Stairs, found it a bit difficult , as I was on the 3rd floor, but saying that I did know about it as I have stayed before.
- Mary (10/5): All I need to say is that I will certainly come back and am recommending it to all my friends - Everything- it was perfect for my needs Zero
- Jill (6/5): Pleasant -
- Emma (8/5): Very good -
- Andrew (9/5): Ideal for someone wanting a central location and a quiet, oorganised room. - The location is ideal, giving easy access to everything you want in Hastings. It's also surprisingly quiet for a central location. The owner was friendly and flexible - I checked in late so he offered me self-checkin which really helped. The room was well organised and had plenty of storage space. The bathroom was small but efficiently arranged. The owner is replacing the fridge - which barely cooled anything. He solves problems! I had the room-only option so I can't comment on the breakfast.
- Ioana (9/5): Superb -
- Martin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Judy (8/5): Very good - Great location, helpful staff especially Keith Too many stairs
- Liane (9/5): Great stay - Great location NA
