- Ling Wai (9/5): -
- Marianiki (10/5): Super nice stay and location! - Great place, very clean and comfortable with rooms overlooking Fuji! Food is a LOT for breakfast and dinner and very very tasty! The little bath is also nice for relaxation. You can rent a bike from the hotel itself much more affordable than what I saw around! And the hosts are so lovely! Highly recommended 😃

- AIMING (8/5): Youth hotel style bnb, if you don’t mind shared bathroom and restroom -
- Ming-Hung (9/5): 建議連早晚餐一起訂 附近餐廳選擇不多 晚餐吃到一間很雷的 感覺這附近餐廳不太行 -

- snxo_ (10/5): A wonderful spot to rest your head while traveling around Yamanakako! - First and foremost: the staff were so friendly! They made checking in and out a breeze. The food - both dinner and breakfast - were tasty and filling. Our room was cozy and perfect for the two of us! I couldn't recommend this spot enough. Nothing!
- Peter (10/5): brilliant experience - the traditional design and location we would have liked to have had food included but didn't know how to book that

- Sonya (9/5): Wonderful little adventure - Wonderful little inn. The two ladies who run it were so nice to us. Breakfast was delicious. We stayed in a triple room on the 2nd floor with a wonderful view of Mt Fuji. The area is so peaceful. We had a car, did day trips, and were so happy not to be at the touristy lake. Yamanakako lake is great. 7-11 close by and a bunch of restaurants. Everything was super clean. Great cultural experience of a Japanese inn at a very reasonable price. Bath was great. The futons on the floor were quite thin and a bit too hard for us, because we are used to western beds. We had a 3rd futon so that helped: we put it under one of our futons.
- Mariana (9/5): Incredible stay with Mount Fuji view and the best homemade Japanese food we’ve had! - The 2 ladies running the B&B are really kind and sweet. We booked our stay with breakfast and dinner included and it is so worth it as they cooked some of the best meals we had in Japan: delicious local food and every night, we were trying new things and different food. It was really special.
The Ryokan is really clean and you get to have a very local and typical Japanese experience.
Location is great really and you get to see Mount Fuji from your room if the clouds allow for it.
- Lyudmyla (7/5): Good - Location is near from bus stop and lake shore .Food was delicious and variety .
Onsen was not working .I was expecting to take a hot tub after freezing making photo of sunset at the lake shore but unfortunately onsen was not working .
- Tian (10/5): Exceptional -
- Enhui (8/5): Everything is good but the bathroom. - The house is quite and the location is good, 3mins walking to the bus station and 5mins to the Park. And I recommend everyone to try the Japanese breakfast at the homestay. BTW, you can rents bikes here! Because it's cheaper than other places. There is no bathroom in the room.
- Tayla (10/5): Amazing! Book this beautiful place - Everything
Food was amazing
Very clean
Hosts were extremely kind and attentive
- Martha (10/5): Beautiful traditional japanese hotel in great location. - We loved this place! Staff was incredibly nice and helpful. Google translator helped us to communicate.
It's a hotel with traditional Japanese rooms with futons and shared bathrooms. I would recommend booking with breakfast and dinner! The food they prepared was delicious.
To hotel is just a short walk away from the lake with the most beautiful view onto Mt Fuji.
The hotel had plenty of parking and the whole building was spotless.
We loved our stay there and would absolutely come back
- Jennifer (10/5): Perfect. - Food was delicious. Property was peaceful. Less than 10 minute walk from Lake Yamanakako. Could see sunrise on Mt Fuji from bedroom. I had no complaints.
- Jess (10/5): Perfect experience!! 🥰 - I had an amazing stay at this ryokan! Just like others have mentioned, the food was absolutely delicious, and I was really surprised by the generous portions of authentic local dishes—such a wonderful experience!
The entire ryokan was spotlessly clean and very quiet, making it a truly relaxing place to stay. When I visited, there weren’t many guests, which made it feel even more peaceful.
One of the most memorable experiences was the kindness of the staff. It was snowing heavily that day, and I missed my bus, which meant I had to wait another two hours. Out of nowhere, the ryokan staff messaged me to check on us, and when they heard about our situation, they offered to pick us up! When we finally arrived, being welcomed with a warm, delicious meal was the best feeling ever.
The ryokan is actually very close to Hirano Beach, but unfortunately, due to the heavy snow, we didn’t get to visit. That just gives me another reason to come back!
If I ever visit Yamanakako again, I will definitely stay here. The hospitality was top-notch, and the staff made us feel so at home. One of the elderly ladies even noticed that I was unsure how to eat a dish and helped feed me—it was such a heartwarming and adorable moment. ❤️ 🚨 A small tip for travelers using public transport:
Make sure you allow extra time for your bus transfers. To reach the ryokan, you’ll first arrive at Yamanakako Iriguchi and then need to transfer to another bus. However, the bus to the ryokan runs approximately once every two hours. We had planned our timing carefully, but because of sudden heavy snow, the roads became difficult to navigate, and all vehicles were moving slowly, causing us to miss our connecting bus. If you're traveling in winter, it's best to leave earlier and not cut your timing too close.

- Sebastien (9/5): Nice and relaxing stay - Clean a big rooms.
The food was nice and in good quantities
The staff was friendly even if rough at first The bath is not as nice as in some ryokan.
- Yifei (10/5): Perfect place to catch Mount Fuji sunrise - Amazing Japanese-style hotel, just 5 minutes walk from Lake Yamanakako. Great for catching the sunrise. Staff were super friendly and even drove us to and from the nearby onsen. Breakfast and dinner were exceptional. Highly recommended! If you aren't used to Japanese-style accommodations, you might want to search a few videos on Youtube just to learn about tatami, indoor slippers, and other customs.
- Shanhe (10/5): Exceptional - The breakfast is super fantastic. The room is very clean and comfortable. They provide everything I need. The location is 5 mins walk from Hirano Beach so I can get up early to check out the sunrise in Mt Fuji.
- Yuxin (10/5): Perfect stay very close to the lake - Feel like home with great dinner and breakfast. It’s very close to the lake only 5min walk. Nothing
- Fernando (10/5): It was an excellent week. Totally recommended going there, and I strongly recommend getting the option with breakfast an - Very good located, close to Hirano bus station. Excellent view of Mount Fuji. Big and clean room.
The food is delicious, probably the best I ate in Japan. The staff is very nice. I didn’t see a microwave and fridge, if they don’t have could be an useful addition.
- Jing (10/5): Perfect stay, definitely coming back - The meal is the best, we have included breakfast and dinner in our package and it’s so localize and we live it! The aunty and grandma is so friendly and kind , helpful. Definitely worth the price
- Chee (9/5): We really had a great stay in this roykan. Love their hospitality and homemade food. - Really enjoyed our stay here during my family vacation. Although the room is rather basic, without most of the amenities such as fridge, room phone or kettle, etc, the room is spacious and cozy. You can see Mount Fuji directly from your room on a clear day.
The ryokan is close to the Hirano bus terminal and Yamanakako Lake. Would recommend you drive there although the bus stop is near by. Will be more convenient if you drive as the bus operating hour is rather short and can be packed on weekend.
What I love most is their hospitality and the meals they prepare. The homemade breakfasts and dinners were really delicious and generous in quantity. They will try to prepare different varieties and dishes. We had tempura, beef sukiyaki, sushu for dinner on different days of our stay. おばさんand お姉さん are really friendly. We were rather late on check-in day (cause we took a wrong train getting there), but they were very patient and waited for us and even served us dinner when we arrived at around 8 plus in the evening.(ごめんなさい、 おばさん お姉さん for the trouble) You can ask them for advice with your planned itineraries. They offered to send us to the Yamanakako Asahigaoka bus stand when we planned to go to Gotemba. You can communicate with goggle translate app.
Thank you for the hospitality, and I really hope to come back here again soon. It will be great if there is a separate shared bathroom for females and males.
- Ines (10/5): Perfect stay, would book again for sure. - What an amazing stay we had, the room was spacious and had a direct view of Mount Fuji, the onsen was wonderful and the breakfast exceeded our expectations. There was a mixup with the company we had hired to transport our luggage and the ladies there worked tirelessly to solve it even though it was not up to them. They also helped us get a dinner reservation when we could not find a place to eat.
- Grant (10/5): Is a very homely place . - Everything from the owner .is a family run place . Very clean and the house is well maintained. The common bath is great where you can have a great hot soak daily without going to Onsen. The breakfast and dinner is so yummy. Different menu daily Nothing !
- Yung (9/5): very cosy and cleanliness was second to none - highly recommend getting the meal package, home cooked japanese meals made the whole experience felt very cosy and warm.
and cleanliness of facilities far exceeded expectations! it had the cleanliness levels of a 5 star hotel. toilets, bath and sink areas were all kept very clean.
facilities are exactly as you see in the photos and we would not hesitate to stay again, truly an amazing first ryokan experience. wished the room had warm lighting as with the rest of the building and more hanging areas for clothing and towels.
visitors on tours seem to stay at this ryokan very regularly and their parking spaces get taken up by very large buses. it's not the fault of the property owners as well but some chinese guests were smoking in their rooms and the smell travels.
also owners speak almost no english but were very very patient with handling any requests!
- Rachel (10/5): Lovely welcome, great spot, exciting food. - Great authentic Japanese food, well cooked. Nice atmosphere. View of Fuji from bedroom window. Bed could have been softer
- Chris (10/5): Exceptional -
- Cyra (10/5): The staff was very warm welcoming. The room is a japanese style tatami room but very clean. - The food was a home cooked japanese meal and very delicious. Well balanced food. The room is so clean and Mt. Fuji can be seen from our window view.
- Karla (10/5): Great views of Mount Fuji and delicious home made food - The home made Japanese food and the kindness of the staff. The location is great, too. Amazing views of Mount Fuji, close to one of the main bus stations around Lake Yamanaka… The pillows were a bit too flat. It would have been nice to have a mini fridge in the room.
