- Tif (9/5): I had a great experience and would stay here again - Everything was perfect, comfortable bed, friendly staff, clean room and bathroom, good location with free parking! It was noisy from the loud banging door (every time someone entered or exited) of the bar below.
- Liam (9/5): Lovely village and a great pub stay - A lovely pub and a lot bigger bar than I expected serving really good Guinness and food.
Shamus as a great host and there was plenty of parking directly outside the property on the high street. All good.
- Simon (10/5): -
- Guillaume (10/5): - Patron hyper sympathique, accueillant et aux p'tits soins pour ses hôtes /

- Lyndsey (10/5): Very friendly professional staff - Staff were excellent very friendly and I couldn’t fault anything
- Kevin (10/5): Great little gem - All staff friendly and helpful couldn't do enough. Especially Seamus who helped out with a key so I could take early walk just a pity we had to leave before but breakfast menu looks great Nothing

- Declan (10/5): Wonderful overnight stay - Skellys is a little gem, from the moment you walk in there is a warm welcome from friendly staff,
A beautiful bar with an old world feel, The food is so good 10/10 and a good choice of beers on tap including locally brewed beers from widestreet brewing.
Seamus was such a gentleman taking time to chat to us.
The bedrooms are fresh and clean and apear to be recently decorated.
A wonderful stay at a wonderful property with wonderful staff great food and beers and great value for money.
Definitely going to make Skellys our go to weekend away destination in Ireland. N/A
- Lorna (7/5): Good enough, but could be grear - Room recently renovated, comfortable big bed, location, free breakfast included. No tv as per description, dirty corridor carpet, previous customer rubbish in room, no extra bed made up as per request (despite one being available).
- Maria (8/5): - Seamus was so helpful and friendly from the moment I arrived. The owner was also very helpful with the WiFi etc. - thank you both.
- Ian (8/5): All in all good, but getting food in the evening or in the morning is an issue - Authentic Irish cafe with a great bartender Jack We arrived just before 20:00, there was no food available as it was early in the week, we had to go down the street and were only just on time to get food there.
Breakfast starts at 09:00, we were at our customer visit 30mins away at 09:00! Who has breakfast at 09:00??
- Inna (3/5): Definitely not a suitable place to stay with a child - It's a lively atmospheric pub. Original features in the room. Very noisy on Saturday night, can hear absolutely everything up in the room, didn't get much sleep. A thick layer of dust on every surface in the room. No soap in the bathroom. Breakfast room was dark and looked unclean; we didn't stay for breakfast.
- cathy (10/5): Warm, welcoming and comfortable - It was a fun atmosphere and the staff were very friendly and welcoming. The location was nice and was lively.
- Brendan (8/5): Spent a great evening there. - Very warm and welcoming with good food.
- orla (9/5): - Service was excellent, rooms were lovely great value
- Patrick (7/5): Friendly and relaxing - Location and friendly staff Quite dark in the bar area
- Adrian (2/5): Owner not genuine, pretended to care. He goes to well with bar takings to care on people staying over - Location Messed around after checking in. Found out toilet blocked. Staff promised toilet would be fixed. Returned after attending funeral to discover plumber wasn’t going to attend, so I demanded we be moved. Moved to a twin room with no heating working. Only one PowerPoint to charge phone. Nothing for my partner. No toiletries to shower.
Really poor service.

- Lisa (10/5): Cannot wait to go back! 5* - Met with the warmest welcome as soon as we arrived. Seamus was an absolute gentleman and we honestly couldn’t have had a better stay, nothing was a bother and our dog Ella was treated just as well (maybe even a little better) than us! Nothing at all!! Everything was brilliant, the rooms, location, food, drinks and staff were all lovely
- Peter (10/5): - My stay at Skelly's was nothing short of a revelation. Pat and Seamus need to take a bow for taking the word "Hospitality" to a new high level. Never have I been so impressed by a combination of warmth, professionalism, and just good homely food and atmosphere. Two absolute Gentlemen, and I will most definitely be back. And hopefully soon.
- Robert (8/5): - Friendly Staff and great room Some guests were very loud and woke me up.
- Ray (10/5): Nice town, people were friendly and willi - Friendly staff, location, value for the money. Thin walls but earplugs can remedy that
- Noemi (10/5): -
- Collette (10/5): -
- Helen (8/5): You have to do this - The Character of Skellys was so so good. Later breakfast..From 9am
- Ashley (8/5): We enjoyed our one night stay here. The owner was very friendly and answered any questions we had. We enjoyed our beers - Located above the bar. Very unique experience and convenient location to the town. The food here was impeccable! The stairs leading up to the rooms could be replaced as well as some fresh paint but that is very minor. Check out was a bit confusing. We had an early flight the next morning and walked downstairs to find the place pitch black and the doors locked. Unfortunately, because we left so early the breakfast available were a few boxes of cereal without milk. We were unsure if when we unlocked the doors to leave if an alarm would go off or not.
- Danni (10/5): Could not recommend enough - Pet friendly and area for dogs to run around the back, staff were very accommodating and helpful Nothing
- odile (5/5): Sans intérêt et excessivement bruyant jusqu’à 4 h du matin - La nourriture Hôtellerie médiocre
- Stirling (6/5): -
- Sheila (10/5): -
- Jim (10/5): - hospitality great.

- Moira (9/5): Welcoming spot with simple, clean facilities and a fantastic staff - The staff were the friendliest I’ve ever met. I was greeted like an old friend and nothing was too much trouble. The owners and staff really went above and beyond to ensure we were looked after. Special shout-out to Charlie and Callum! It seems like some rooms are undergoing renovation, but this didn’t impact our stay in any way
- Martina (9/5): A great spot for a chat, pint & great food - Lovely and warm & comfortable. Plenty of options for breakfast, and a great bar & restaurant.

- Quentin (10/5): Genuinely awesome room and staff! 😁 - The room was great and the the pub/restaurant downstairs is awesome, with an awesome atmosphere. People who work there are very friendly and helpfull (special mention to Anton, who cares a lot for the comfort of his guests). My room was a little too far from the wifi spot
- Tommy (10/5): - Very nice staff and great value for such a nice modern room better than some hotels I have stayed in the past and hopefully I will be back soon thanks 😊 Nothing
- Ian (9/5): - Hospitality at its best. Breakfast was brilliant. No tv in room, I had to talk to the missus!

- Martina (8/5): Very enjoyable - Great welcoming staff
- margaret (9/5): Value for money - Lovely staff Seamus checked us in couldn't get a nicer host room spotless beds comfortable There s nothing not to like
- Andrew (7/5): Loved its character and warm welcome. The evening meal was excellent - Great old Irish pub
Plenty of character and characters
Landlord and staff were very welcoming, friendly and efficient
Would like to come on a cold winters day to get the benefit of the warm fireside
Lots of interesting memorabilia and posters fill the walls - loved it The room was basic, and furnished with old side tables and wardrobes which I get but may not appeal to someone used to modern hotel rooms
TV remote didn’t work, and shower though hot was a bit low on pressure
- Heribert (10/5): Kommen gerne wieder - Äußerst freundlicher Empfang, komplette Einweisung in die Unterkunft vom Chef persönlich, freundlich, hilfsbereit, Zimmer top, neu gestaltet, kein Schlüsselsystem mehr, Frühstück wird frisch zubereitet, sehr nette Bedienung.
- Dundova (9/5): - Great place for overnight stay. Good value
- Michael (9/5): Great last nights in Ireland - Room was recently remodeled, great shower, large room. Pub downstairs and all employees were fantastic, food excellent too!
- Irma (9/5): -
- Shaun (8/5): Great value for money and friendly atmosphere. - Good friendly staff and nothing was too much trouble for them. The bar and the Guinness was great. Their renovating at the moment so my room was lacking a few things, like a mirror and shower gel.
- Gillen (8/5): - The friendliness & helpfulness of the staff The lack of somewhere to hang our clothes.
A shelf/hook even a chair was needed badly.
- Patrick (10/5): Great warm reception and mighty craic -
- Eamon (9/5): One night in skellys - In particular se who meet us on our arrival and took care of us for our short visit .he was so helpful friendly and kind fantastic host .the food was also very good every one enjoyed it ans some fussy eaters among us. Very little to dislike the rooms were basic but clean and warm .we could not ask more from a b & b .
- McManus (2/5): Inder Reconstruction - Staff very friendly TVdid nit work
Shower didn't work
Plug in sink jammed, couldn't drain
Weren't advised of party in bat till 3pm
Chef didn't turn up to make breakfast
- nicolas (6/5): - L'ambiance, la déco et les plats sont top La chambre Numéro 8 est très bruyante, on entend énormément la salle en dessous.
- Brian (10/5): - Great service...excellent food..
- Lisa (10/5): -
- Eggermont (8/5): -
- Patrick (7/5): Very relaxed, quiet and private.Had a great chat with the locals in the bar .Very friendly place to - Excellent location, very private and quiet, great welcome ,come and go as you please
Very good staff Just happened to be a major refurbished during my stay but didn't affect the service provided
- Matthew (8/5): Friendly staff and excellent food and service. - Breakfast was delicious. Seamus and his staff made us feel at home and made our stay very enjoyable. That we didn't have a longer stay.
- Cozette (2/5): Disappointed - The staff was friendly and helpful. They let us use the washer and dryer, which was helpful. The pub on the main level with local patrons was fun. They were friendly and welcoming. The rooms needed repairs and maintenance. Carpets were dirty and worn. Window glass in room was broken. Exposed wiring in places. Issues go beyond decorating updates, etc. Several of the previous recent reviews did not match our experience.
- MOZON (7/5): -
- caroline (9/5): Excellent stay with wonderful Irish hospitality! - The staff were extremely friendly and hospitable nothing was too much bother. They were really accommodating as we had our dog with us. The food was absolutely delicious and they had their own kitchen garden within the walled garden which they use in their dishes. All the food was freshly cooked to order and the portion sizes were huge! The cooked breakfast was delicious! The rooms were clean and comfortable and had the original shutters adding to the rustic ambiance of the room. The location is perfect, with parking right outside the accommodation. Nothing, some may be put off from the noise from the pub below however we didn’t find that was a problem.
- Michele (8/5): -
- Sheila (9/5): Good value for money - Hreat
- Celine (10/5): - Everything Nothing
- Robin (4/5): - Staff were friendly, funny and helpful. Food was excellent, decent value for money, Smithwicks red ale was best we'd had all week.
Good parking area for motorcycles. Rooms were needing a bit of modernisation and refreshing, carpets were stained and dirty, hall and stairs carpet looked like a tarred road and mattresses on beds had springs poking through.
- schultz (10/5): -
- Lisa (9/5): Old pub with lots of character, lovely welcoming staff. -
- Marie (9/5): Excellent - exactly what I needed for my stay in Ballymahon. - I liked the fact that there was a self service breakfast available early in the morning which was very convenient for an early start. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and the room was clean and comfortable.
- William (7/5): -
- Naomi (10/5): - The staff are unbelievably sound! They're family owned, and one of the lads beamed with pride as he told us that he is the 5th gen and his son will be 6th. Honestly couldn't meet nicer folk! The rooms were bigger than expected - very spacious and cosy. The bartender gave us extra strong cocktails - shout out to you, Mr Bartender! All guests are given 2l bottles of water for free (I'm sure they could sense the imminent hangover 😂). We woke up late and missed brekkie, but they said they were happy to help us out anyway. Couldn't recommend Skellys enough - the venue & staff are absolute gems!
- Leslie (9/5): Great pub with wonderful friendly staff. - Excellent staff. Very helpful and welcoming. Breakfast
