Guest Reviews
- Gavin (10/5): We were very pleased with the friendly staff who were very helpful in every way - Very friendly staff. Always willing to help. Lovely personal touch. Excellent location within walking distance of many attractions Nothing
- Grzegorz (10/5): Exceptional - A family run cafe restaurant with home cooked tray food and drinks. The bedroom was comfortable and spacious. It was right next to the Habu temple. The cafe is colourful with great rustic furniture. Nothing, I loved it all.
- Shannon (9/5): Relaxing and a slice of local life. - Masria and her family were very welcoming and helpful. It was nice to be the only guests and to relax a bit. It was especially nice to be able to have a “meal like home” when we asked. It is the small things that really enhance your experience in new places. Stairs to the flat are steep/short. Not an issue for us, but I wouldn’t recommend it for anyone with limited mobility.
- Tanwir (10/5): Nice surprise - We stayed here as a family group of three and found this accomodation excellent. The location is ideal. Very close to the ticket office and directly opposite one of the main sites. This is important as it allows flexibility in buying tickets thereby saving money or making best use of travelling time.
The flat/house is decorated to a very good standard with beautiful tiles in the bathroom and comfortable beds and has lots of traditional character.
The hosts are locals and can provide all your needs through contacts like drivers (this is essential as the sites are very far apart), activities like hot air ballooning aswell as meals at a fair price. We tried many dishes on the menu as we stayed for a few days and they were all good and had a lovely home made taste.
The hosts are friendly and were very helpful in giving advice. We are pleased to recommend them. Everything was good. No complaints.
- Massimo (10/5): At home far away from home - Everything!
Our home in Luxor, no question.
I rate 10 because I cannot give more.
On the West Bank. The location is really in front of Habu Temple (10 meters!), and at a walking distances from Queens' Tombs, Nobles' Tombs, Deir El Medina with Workers and Artisans' Tombs, Ramesseum, Memnons' Statues.
But, the most important: here you feel like at home, you are in a family.
They TAKE CARE of the guest.
Also the breakfasts are incredibles, the food at Maratonga Restaurant is so good! Ok wifi. Bathroom with separated shower (who was in Egypt can understand).
We will come back again, no doubt.
To reach the Homestay from East Bank (where are train and Go Bus stations): short walk until the pier of the public ferry boat, ferry (10egp) every 10-15 minutes, collective minibus (5egp, ask for "Habu") and another short walk. To go to the East Bank from the Homestay: short walk, minibus (5egp) to "Ferry boat" and than ferry (10egp). Nothing

- René (10/5): Exceptional very much reccomend - host, flat, area - This was the best time we've had in Egypt. For 3 month we are travelling around and ended up in Egypt before we come back to home and we've read about this homestay in the internet. There are several ones in Asia but we haven't seen one yet in Egyptso we always had good experiences with the hosts and families back in Asia we booked this homestay. We choose the option without breakfast but in the end we ended up having breakfast every day in their restaurant as nobody else around has open at an early hour we also had dinner from the menu and tried some of the homemade cakes. The food is freshly made and outstanding delicious.
My wife even took a half day cooking class with Masrya and one of her employees and we ate all together the whole family and my family together. Masrya & Sayed are just super friendly and helpful, speak several languages German English French Greek and Spanish that's what we could hear so far and the skills were perfect. They've organized us a driver to all the sights and told us where to go for hidden places and how to get the tickets and which time is best for us. There is no scam, everything has fixed prices also the menu has prices, total equality and we can relay on that prices, we haven't seen anything like this in Egypt before. We went with Masrya and her dogs and street dogs for walks in the nature and feed the donkeys on the way.
Our son loved it! In total we would recommend this place to anyone. It is safe, you are helped here jet have your own privacy. The home is top cleaned, new towels and bedding the air cooler is clean, a lot of light and fresh air from the big windows and trees which are all over the place. We had two days of sandstorm and slow rain (which is unusual for Luxor but it can happen) the whole family and team helped and cleaned. If we haven't had booked for Siwa and Cairo already we would have stayed longer, but we will definitely be back.
- Rodrigo (10/5): Exceptional - I recently had the pleasure of staying at Habu Heritage Home in Luxor's West Bank, boasting the most splendid view of the Habu Temple. The location is unbeatable, and the added bonus of being situated above a delightful restaurant was simply superb. The breakfast spread offered an array of delectable treats, including bread, feta cheese, foul, pancakes, marmalade, coffee, and much more, ensuring a perfect start to the day. The owners of the restaurant, a father and daughter duo, were simply the most charming hosts one could ever ask for. They went above and beyond to make us feel at home, and even prepared delicious lunch boxes for our long day trips. The warmth and kindness of the entire staff were palpable, creating a welcoming and inviting atmosphere. During our stay, we had the pleasure of meeting Black, a charming street dog, and Tonga, a falcon that frequented the place. These delightful creatures added a unique and enchanting touch to the overall experience. I cannot recommend it enough. The location, combined with the incredible hospitality of the owners and staff, made it an unforgettable experience. I will definitely be returning! Everything was fine.
- Georgios (10/5): gastvrij, net alsof je thuis bent. - the people and the view of the temple
