Guest Reviews
- Jolette (9/5): We did not want to leave :) - Property was clean and comfortable.
- CR Stols (10/5): - Peaceful environment where you can be quiet and here your own thoughts.
Open fields with sounds of cattle in the background makes this a real farm experience.
- smit (8/5): - Location was peaceful, quiet and private.
A few thoughtful treats and lots of wood made us feel very welcome. The host, Jeannie is super friendly and helpful.
- Cecilia (10/5): - The house is very neat, filled with fans for the heat and the kitchen is fully equipt I liked everything. The lounge seat is a little flimpsy and was a little scared to sit on it.
- Victor (4/5): -
- Raylond (9/5): - The Nature and all the animals. If you ever feel like having a bachelor without people disturbing you. This is your place to go. N/A

- Fernando (8/5): Stay was perfect.......... - n/a Maybe have warmer blanket's??
- Mark (8/5): Loved it! - Beautiful location, house was well sign posted from the main road. Property was surrounded by a fence, so we could safely let our dogs have the freedom of the outside space, great fire pit area for a Braai and there was a plentiful supply of wood.
Just a great place for those who want some peace and relaxation! What could have been better? The weather, a lot of rain, but it added to the experience😊
- Gerber (10/5): Great break away weekend. Away from the hustle and bustle of the city. - Jeannie was the most fabulous host! The farmhouse was very easy to find, and everything was perfectly prepared for our arrival. We didn’t need to collect keys—the house was open, ready, and welcoming. It was spotless and had everything we needed. The thoughtful touches—rusks, cookies, milk, and even a jar of sweeties—made us feel right at home. Thank you, Jeannie, for making our stay so special!
- Debbie (8/5): Peaceful - We loved our stay, and the host was really amazing. Thank you for spoiling us with the cookies, rusks and sweets. They also had firewood and ice for us. We played a lot of games, watched great movies, and enjoyed cycling on the farm.
- Grobler (3/5): Poor - The photos were not a true reflection of the facilities. For the price, the accommodation was a bit shabby ie worn linen, falling down blinds. Drinking water provided had algae in it.
- Melissa (10/5): Jeannie’s Plaashuis is a peaceful retreat with unmatched hospitality. - We had the absolute pleasure of staying at Jeannie’s Plaashuis this past weekend while taking on the Tankwa Trek, and what an incredible experience.
From the moment we arrived, Jeannie made us feel like family. After long, tough days of racing, coming back to her home didn’t just feel like a stay—it felt like coming home.
She went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable—fresh ice and clean towels every day, even taking care of our mud-covered cycling gear, which was a lifesaver. Her kindness and hospitality truly set this place apart.
And the peacefulness of the farm? Unmatched. Waking up to the stillness of nature and unwinding in such a tranquil setting made the entire experience even more special.
If you’re ever in the area, whether for adventure or a peaceful getaway, I can’t recommend Jeannie’s Plaashuis enough. Water pressure, but that was communicated to us.
- Hassen (6/5): Pleasant -
- Craig (8/5): Very good -
- Klaus (9/5): Peace and quiet, homely, magnificent views and value for money. - The peace and quiet that we experienced was the best part for me. The views are amazing and we were blessed with a cool breeze most of the evenings. After a couple of days it felt like just like our home away from home. The staff that we encountered were very friendly. There is not much to complain about. The people in our group who prepared the food would have liked larger pots. When we visit again we will bring a pot too. :-)
- Masoes (9/5): Superb -
- Van (10/5): Exceptional -
- Susan (7/5): The people were friendly and helpful . I - No breakfast required. Everything was there and clean and it was affordable. I would have liked more showers and not a bath The fireplace but the couches were broken and not comfortable.

- Chatelle (10/5): Best farm stay ever!!!!! - We loved everything and more. Best farm stay I've been to. My 2 toddlers were happy with the big yard to run around and explore, the farm animals surrounding us, even our dog enjoyed the stay.
The owners are friendly and good people which made the stay even more special. Nice and cozy home, the fire area is perfect for cold nights and days, a real farm experience. Peace and quite the best medicine for the soul. I would most definitely visit them soon
Exceptional stay. Thank you all

- Duncan (8/5): This was the perfect getaway. Just what we needed. It was so nice and peaceful. - I love the fact that it is so isolated from the hustle and bustle. It was peaceful The toilet and bath just had some stains but nothing crazy.
- Mary (9/5): Excellent, get back-to-nature family retreat. - Incredibly accommodating and friendly hosts. Lovely big, old farm house in the middle of rolling fields. Large kitchen and binnebraai facilities, comfortable beds. Excellent, get-away-from-it-all place. Boys explored all over surrounding fields.
- Margitta (10/5): Farm Adventure - The farm atmosphere. There was outdoor furniture that provided us to spend most of our time outside and we braai and sat in the sun
which we loved. The head in the shower of the main bathroom was a bit of a hiccup which didn't allow enough water through especially if you have to wash long hair.
- Louise (10/5): Peaceful breakaway on farm - Fantastic for breaking away from the noise of town! Just peace and quiet in beautiful farmlands, cozy fire burning to keep us warm. Tons of games for old and young to keep busy
