Guest Reviews
- Takayuki (10/5): -
- Dong (10/5): 非常特别舒适的住宿体验 - 地理位置方便,设施齐全,日式庭院和家里面的摆设布置都非常有艺术气息。
- TIM (9/5): Great stay in a quirky and interesting Japanese house. - The house was very clean with really comfortable beds. The instructions were excellent and the facilities great. The house was typically Japanese and furnished with carefully chosen pieces of antique furniture. One of the rooms was tatami for the full experience. It was definitely quirky and interesting. It was very close to the city bus network - frequent and about half an hour to Kyoto station for 230¥ (other bus routes were also available) or a bus and metro ride from Kitaoji - a bit more of a journey, but more connected. Various mapping programs are available to help either routes.
We only really ate breakfast there. There was a range of coffee machines with some pods provided - thank you.
There was a washer/dryer with washing pods - really helpful as we were in Japan for six weeks.
Great bath and a Japanese style shower. Aircon throughout which I’m guessing would be really important at certain times of year.
We didn’t meet the owner, but communication was great. Nothing really. We were an extended family of 5. The grandparents found the stairs more challenging, our 8 year old grandson and his parents less so! This didn’t affect our stay, but might be a factor for some.
- Evelyn (8/5): Comfortable & Quaint in Kyoto - Loved the Japanese style house & garden.
3 Bedrooms were very spacious & comfortable. As an added bonus there was a cosy study/music room on the top floor, perfect for some quiet time!
The lovely bathroom included a separate shower & bath & there were also 2 wash basins & a separate wc which was very handy for our group, although more towels would have been appreciated. Nice quiet area & conveniently located for buses & several places of interest.
Note, the adjoining tearoom was closed during our stay. Lack of information for non-Japanese speakers on how things worked e.g. washing machine & AC. Some beautiful china & delicate ornaments were displayed throughout the house but as a result we were a bit anxious about causing breakages.
- Alexandru (10/5): -
- Anand (10/5): An amazing short stay with a Japanese flavour for a holiday in Kyoto. - We enjoyed the Japanese styled house and its facilities. The stairs were a bit steep; and slippery with the carpet.
- Sergei (10/5): Exceptional -
- Stephanie (10/5): Highly recommended! - I love this traditional Japanese house. We were so engrossed with all the decorations, from each room to every tiny detail in the house. It’s very comfortable and relaxing to stay in. Just be careful when climbing the stairs, as they are a bit narrow. Before we checked out, we had the chance to enjoy coffee prepared by the owner — very grateful to him. Overall, I highly recommend this place to stay! The stairs a bit narrow to climb.
- Lukáš (9/5): Superb -
