Guest Reviews
- Kiran (6/5): -
- Kushal (6/5): A budget-friendly spot with good location, but hygiene issues made it less comfortable. - The location was convenient and easy to reach, close to main attractions. It was reasonably priced for a short stay, offering good value. Check-in was quick and hassle-free. The garden was well-maintained with fresh greenery, creating a pleasant vibe. There was a nice workspace, functional kitchen, comfortable sitting areas, and wide open space outside that felt refreshing. The beds were not clean. The locker facility was not great, too congested and hard to use. Bathroom cleanliness was not well maintained, with some grime buildup.
- Sucorine (3/5): - Cleanliness Hospitality was very poor, due to cylinder shortage, they said will only give idli.
Room was too small and claustrophobic

- Forever Traveller (9/5): Great Value for Money. - Caretaker is helpful. Kitchen is available. Clean and conveniently located. Restaurants nearby. None.
- PETER (9/5): - Location and good breakfasts
- Shrilatha (10/5): -
- MonicaLux (10/5): Oasis in a central location - Excellent location. Nice garden. Comfortable room. Would have liked some more options for breakfast, maybe some bread and fresh fruit, not just idly with spicy sauce.
- Chloe (10/5): Cool, calm and really clean - Quiet, calm in a fabulous location. Kind and helpful staff. Being asked to pay more to use the hostel as I waited for a night bus. I was out all day anyway!
- Sally (6/5): - The location and the common room. The owner and her son were fabulous- really helpful. I was the only one there! Also the staff guy was a bit odd. And communication with the staff was difficult at times.
- Stephan (9/5): - Sehr schönes altes Haus mit freundlichen Betreibern. Wünsche werden schnell und professionell erfüllt.
- Vincent (8/5): Bon séjour - Bon emplacement pour visiter mysore.
Proximite du restaurant The Old House👌 Personnel un peu taciturne mais repond bien aux demandes.

Freies Trinkwasser, Kaffee, Tee. Wer hier nicht bucht ist selber schuld. Frank Alles war wirklich gut
- Dominique (9/5): - Calme et tranquille
Style de la maison avec son jardin
Petite cuisine
Thé, café à volonté

- NILANJAN (8/5): - 120 years old, well maintained property has its antique charm ... The caretaker Shivraj is gentle and helpful with breakfast and other stuff. The room was a bit small, no TV in the room.

- Jacqueline (9/5): Relaxing stay - The location was peaceful and the garden was pretty. The host was warm and welcoming. The atmosphere was relaxed and the property was clean and well maintained. All was good but some warm water in the shower would have made my stay perfect 😊
- April (10/5): This is the best hostel in Mysore. - The room, the toilets, the showers, the breakfast and the kitchen, the indoor living room as well as outdoor. Spacious and functional and generous. I should mention that I never had to wait for a toilet or shower. And I thank Shivraj for his daily maintenance work. Nothing

- urvashi (7/5): The location is great and the hostel is beautiful. I would've enjoyed the stay if not for the crowd. - I loved the property as its an old house turned into a hostel. The location is really good as its accessible to major locations by walk. The helping staff is very kind and helpful. He ensured that I got complimentary breakfast and checked on me. I found the female dorm room really small and claustrophobic. There was a team of doctors when I checked in who lacked civic sense. I couldn't sleep for the amount of time I was there in the hostel as they kept shouting on top of their voices, talking on phone in the night, barging in the female dorm, switching on and switching off the lights and the female dorm was a mess with things piled up with food and clothes drying on the bed. One night, they were hearing TV in the common room with high volume in the night, as the main room is next to the female dorm, I couldn't sleep. Sadly, no one was stopping them from doing all this. Unfortunately, we Indians lack civic sense and are still getting used to behaving in a hostel, I would sincerely request you to keep a do's and dont's chart in the hostel room regarding the etiquettes to be followed. I changed my dorm to the mixed dorm with my friend, again it was the same case with the male doctors. We were really angry and upset with them. I sincerely hope the expectations are explained to the people checking in, especially, if they're not regular backpackers or travelers so that they know what etiquettes to follow.
Also, I feel the female dorm needs two ceiling fans like in the mixed dorm, otherwise, its going to be really difficult in the summer.
- Malou (10/5): - Great experience at this place. Loved the colonial style of the house located in a super calm and quite area. What I did like the most is the people in charge. Suoer helpful, always willing to answer your questions without feeling that you're bothering them . Really enjoyed my stay at Xplorest. Cheers All is good
- Manca (9/5): Good value for money - Nice green garden where you can relax. The location is a walking distance from the palace. The staff is helpful so our stay was comfortable.
- ROBERT (10/5): Quirky place with friendly staff and a great location. - Quirky place with friendly staff and a great location. My friend and I had separate rooms at the front of the house which were clean, comfy and quiet. There are shared rooms with bunks so lots of interesting people to talk to. We were there 2 nights. Breakfast seemed to vary what you got. Nothing
- Rout (10/5): - The property & staff made my stay safest and homely.
- Philip (8/5): - Great place to stay. I probably had one of my best sleeps at a hostel here.
- JAGADIES PRABHU (10/5): Had a peaceful stay. - Very friendly environment with helpful staff, pleasant interiors, nice place to chill with a book. Could have a common area with out disturbing neighbours.
- Elliot (10/5): -
- Ralph (8/5): Great value for money - Very good value for the money you pay. Located in a old one storey building, much nicer thanthe usual concrete blocks the other hotels are located in. Rooms are functional.
Owner and staff are super friendly.
Location is ok but a tuk tuk cost between 36 and 70 rupees to nearly anywhere.
Wood stay there again Location is 2 km from the city centre, not a big problem as tuk tuks are very cheap
- Ankita (9/5): -
- Keti (9/5): -
- Mohamed Mujeb (8/5): -
- Antoine (10/5): The perfect place for backpackers in Mysore - A beautiful and serene place close to Mysore city center with great common areas and comfortable rooms!
- Prahas (10/5): -
- M Dinesh (10/5): - A well maintained 120 year antique building, neat n clean, Nothing
- Miriam (9/5): -
- Sara (10/5): -
- Sweta (10/5): Very clean and quiet, nicely located - The facility is very clean, the staff are polite and helpful. It's a nice, homey building, located in a quiet part of the city but still very close to central areas and main roads. No complaints.
- Sushma (8/5): -
- s m (9/5): - Very comfortable house Very nice house rooms washrooms and Garden
- Sanath (10/5): -
- TricannadChandrashekar (9/5): As a whole it was a pleasant stay. - It’s a vintage property with a front garden where one can sit and relax. Could have provided a multiple spread complimentary breakfast instead of only one item on the menu.
- Rifas (10/5): Aesthetic and feels like home - Very clean and very friendly staff from Nepal. Cleanliness and homely feeling
- Shiv Kiran (8/5): -
- Kamble (6/5): - Atmosphere Washroom is out side and common
- Venugopal (9/5): Great staycation - Cleanliness, location, staff behaviour Private room size is small. The room size should be mentioned in booking.com and explicitly told to customers before finalizing the booking.
- Ashreet (10/5): - Good location and Good friendly staff with clean facility But price is little bit higher Price
- Demta (9/5): Perfect, cute little stay :) - Everything! Nothing as such - Everything was perfect!
- Luke (8/5): Good place - Clean place, helpful staff NA
- Palaniappan (9/5): Superb - Locality is good None
- J (10/5): Exceptional - The building Dinning area
- Vanessa (10/5): Exceptional - Loved how warm and welcoming the caretaker was. Always helpful and looking after the property - so big shout out to Shivraj! The room though a bit small was overlooking the garden and very comfy. The breakfast was nice with idli chutney and a rice dish available. No tea / coffee but you can always make your own. The kitchen being available to everyone was a big bonus.. the location is about 20 mins walk to Mysore palace and a few small eateries about 5-10mins walking distance away. Amrutha veg restaurant was our fave. All in all a great comfortable stay and would definitely consider coming back here !! Nothing that I didn't like .
- Reshma (7/5): Good - Building is so good and clean rooms could have been little more bigger
- Tharani (8/5): Very good -
- Oiheek (9/5): Superb -
- Rajeeta (10/5): Awesome stay - Beautiful, clean place and rooms. Greenary all around. Staff is very helpful. Nothing
- Baher (10/5): Exceptional -
- Chiehyu (8/5): Very pleasant and grateful to the staff - The helpful staff, the yard, the clothes drying rope, the wash machine, the clean shower and toilet. There are several good restaurants nearby in a walking distance. Not far from the Mysuru Palace either. Only fan no A.C. in summer could be a bit difficult at night, but the notification regarding this has shown on the property's booking.com introduction.
- Jem (10/5): Exceptional -
- Patricia (9/5): Superb - The staff are super friendly, the place is very nice and calm, quiet and that is difficult in India hehehehe. With a mini garden, really nice! :-) Overall I liked everything!

- Marion (7/5): Good -
- Simha (10/5): Exceptional -
- Aishwarya (8/5): Very good - It’s a good vintage property to stay in. Would be nice if hangers are provided to hang used clothes. It’s also nice to have a small cooler in family rooms in hot summer time as it gets dusty and hot at nights.
- Valentin (10/5): The place to stay in Mysore!! - I truly apreciated this guesthouse, first because of the calmness it offers, with its beautiful garden, and also because of the kind staff which is always available to help you some way
I strongly advise this place for everybody, lonely travellers as friends or families, who wants to have a amazing stay in Mysore
- Zubair (8/5): Excellent place for solo travellers to Mysore - Very peaceful, clean, and well-kept place. Easy access to all attractions in mysore. There should have been at least access to in-house tea and snacks in house, either u have to prepare yourself or order from online food apps.
- Andreea (10/5): Wonderful hotel in the heart of Mysore - Beautiful historical building, very well maintained. The hostel is very clean, has hot water and the staff is wonderful. Loved everything
- Jerry-ibn (9/5): Superb - Location & staff

- Arora (10/5): Special mention to their staff Shivraj very helpful man. - The best staff so friendly and warm.
You should definitely try this place
The complimentary is worth a try. It is a home-cooked fresh and good taste food. I loved everything
- Christina (7/5): Good - The old house with a nice garden in front of it is very charming. Our room was clean and cozy and the staff was friendly. We stayed just for one night, it was perfectly fine! Breakfast could be improved by serving tea or coffee.
- Melissa (9/5): An interesting and delightful place to stay - The building is a really beautiful old house with a pretty garden with Frangipani and a hammock.
Our little double room was very comfortable and everyone was extremely kind and helpful. Nothing
- Laura (8/5): Great base to explore Mysore - The property is beautifully maintained, with a charming atmosphere that adds to its appeal. Its location is a very good base for exploring the rich history and culture of Mysuru. The staff are kind, and ready to help. The private double room is compact and could benefit from a few additional amenities, such as an extra power outlet, hangers, a cupboard, and a wiper in the bathroom. It’s also evident that communication on Booking.com is managed by a different team than the reception staff. While this isn’t a major issue, better coordination between the two would help ensure important information isn’t overlooked.
- Anusha (8/5): Memorable - Ambience is beautiful Food options can be improved
- Lilla (8/5): Very good -
- Fathima (10/5): Laav it😍 ❤️ - It was something more than I expected it was so nice ..it really felt like home..staff’s were so friendly..and the roommates we got they were so nice..altogether we had a great time

- Wjpc (9/5): Superb -
- Hitesh (8/5): Very good - Very good peace full location, very good ambience, ,staff was good Breakfast @8 p.m, it was little late & there was only idly & rice in it so we didn't take breakfast not offered us tea/coffee instead of it
- Karthik (8/5): Very good -
- Mollika (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mila (10/5): Charming hostel -
- Albano (9/5): Superb - staff location
- Sivaranjani (10/5): Exceptional -
- Beatriz (9/5): It was ok but could be better. - Fantastic staff The kitchen didn’t feel very clean. I would suggest changing the dish sponge every Monday. It looked so old and dirty I was not able to touch it.
There was not enough silverware just a few spoons.
No shower courting so when you had a shower all bathroom was wet.
No soap provided in the room.
- P (10/5): Exceptional -
