Guest Reviews
- Katy (10/5): Like staying at the home of a good friend. - The host was wonderful and so kind. Lovely generous breakfast. Comfortable room and bathroom. Very clean. It is on a busy road so pulling in and out of the driveway was tricky.
- Linda (10/5): A perfect place to end up our Ireland travels! - The Butterhouse was lovely, convenient and so well appointed. Both Pam and Maurice were excellent hosts and the home and rooms were so cozy and clean. Wish we could have stayed longer. Would definitely recommend this place to others. Can’t think of anything.
- Daniela (9/5): -
- Ronni (10/5): - Up to date. Clean.

- Pat O Connor. (9/5): - Room was spacious and extremely comfortable. It was exceptionally clean and the owners were friendly and helpful. There was a continental breakfast provided. We would definitely stay again.Beautiful house and grounds.

- Fiona (9/5): Lovely stay friendly host house fabulous 👌 - Lovely friendly host enjoyed our stay N/a
- Thomas (10/5): - Very nice people breakfast and scenery was Top level 😀
- Mary (8/5): Beautiful place, welcoming and comfortable . - The host was very responsive. We asked if she could leave us something to eat for breakfast as we were leaving before breakfast was typically served, we found yogurts and fresh cut berries in the fridge. That was above and beyond! The house, gardens and rooms were quite lovely and welcoming. It was a perfect place to stay after a day trip to Trim. This is just a personal thing. I don't like having only a heavy comforter on the bed. I sleep hot and the comforter is far too warm, but simply sleeping in my tee shirt without any cover is too cool. Having something lighter would have made my sleep more comfortable. I kept waking to throw off the comforter, or to put it back on.In addition, the room's door was covered with a heavy curtain, and while it looked pretty, it let in the light from the hallway. Again, it's a me thing, I like a very dark bedroom.
- Sachin (9/5): - Pam was great and very helpful, the breakfast was lovely. We were staying for a night only, we had a wedding nearby. This was perfect as it was just a few mins down the road, cheaper than other hotels. Friendly people, comfortable clean rooms. We didn't spend a lot of time there or in the area so hard to say much else besides we got great value and were very happy with the quality of our stay and the friendliness of everyone there.
- Linda (10/5): Lovely homely stay in the country - Hosts were lovely. Very homely and kind.
Bed was so comfortable. Lovely breakfast. N/A
- Martina Foschia (10/5): - The room was beautiful with attention to details. Pam is a lovely host and I really enjoyed to chat with her. A pity I could spend 1 night only!
- Erin (10/5): Butterhouse is a lovely, welcoming, and comfortable stay. - This is the perfect place to stay either to visit local attractions (of which there are many) or as your first or last night before flying out of Dublin. It is a short drive to the airport and Trim is a really lovely town to spend a night near. Pam was a wonderful and warm host and the breakfast was delicious. Couldn't have asked for a better last night in Ireland. No complaints.
- Kelly (10/5): - Had a fantastic stay with my partner Daniel ..The host Pam was a lovely person and you just felt like you were at home .. Shout-out to the lovely pets Lucy and Bella ❤️Will definitely be back for sure .
Thank you Pam for everything.
God bless Cathy 🌹
- Mark (10/5): -
- Aaron (10/5): This is the place - Pam is very communicative and happy to offer some fresh fruit and other offerings if you are departing before normal breakfast hours. Great country view of the back pasture. Their welcoming and beautiful home was a much improvement over staying the night previous in downtown Trim.
- Patrick (10/5): - We thoroughly enjoyed our stay Pam was so welcoming and couldn’t do enough for us even went out of her way to give us a lift to a near by venue what a lady thanks again Pam
- Farrell (10/5): Pretty good - OK Full irish breakfast
- Alayna (10/5): We were delighted to stay at Butterhouse and would recommend to anyone. Our hosts were absolutely lovely, caring, and co - Charming home with lovely bedrooms and a large kitchen; comfortably appointed. The surrounding countryside was beautiful and the home was conveniently located to multiple attractions in Meath.
- Martina (10/5): - Loved the look of the whole house. Beautifully designed and decorated from hallway to room to kitchen and dinning room. Tidy, clean warm and cozy. The host were an absolute delight to interact with. Super friendly and polite. Very welcoming. Very accommodating and helpful in regards to my food intolerances for breakfast . Did have a bit of trouble with shower. Only got Luke warm water when I took a shower when I turned hot to cold nozzle on side. Not sure if there was something wrong with shower or just had trouble figuring it out
- Jerina (8/5): - Sehr freundliche Gastgeberin!
- Romina (9/5): We would absolutely stay here again - The location was perfect on the property was cozy. The gardens were absolutely stunning, and the host was very kind and friendly. The host also has a dog who is incredibly sweet and very hospitable to us. Nothing.

- Choy (10/5): - Everything!!
- Carolyne (9/5): A warm Irish welcome in this B&B - Room was spacious and extremely comfortable. It was exceptionally clean and the owners were friendly and helpful. There was a high quality beautiful continental breakfast and cooked eggs provided. We would definitely stay again.
- Niamh (10/5): -
- Gordon (9/5): Excellent host, beautiful breakfast -
- Jarod (10/5): Perfect stay with wonderful hosts! - We LOVED this B&B - amazing owners, very comfortable beds and rooms and a wonderful personal touch and breakfast!! There was nothing we didn’t love 😊
- Adrian (10/5): -
- Andrea (10/5): Perfect, comfortable country setting - Host and hostess were charming, friendly and extremely helpful! Location was great - country setting just 30 mins from Dublin. Rooms clean and comfortable. Could not have asked for a better experience! There was nothing negative about our experience at all.
- Larry (10/5): - Owners were cordial, rooms were clean, bfts were adequate. Nothing
- Theresa (10/5): -
- Billingsley (10/5): Very helpful hostess - Exceptional hostess Beautiful home and grounds
- Laura (9/5): Short and sweet visit. - Great location, lovely setting. Home away from home. Pam couldn't have done anymore for us.

- Moore (9/5): - Pam was a wonderful host.
Cows out back get milked twice daily and milk is locally used to produce ice cream or sold for local consumption. The bathroom was small, but quite functional and clean..
- Clive (10/5): Thanks for making me feel welcome and for the advice about local parking :) - Very friendly, very comfortable, great location

- Baldur (10/5): Exceptional - Very clean and cozy. Host was very friendly and accommodating. Nothing
- Ernest (10/5): Excellent - A Hidden Gem with a Heart of Gold – Thank You, Pam
Me and my wife flew to Ireland on a whim for a funeral and booked a B&B last minute, just needing somewhere to lay our heads. What we got was far more than just a place to stay—it turned out to be a truly wonderful experience.
From the moment we arrived, Pam, who runs the B&B, made us feel completely at home. She’s warm, thoughtful, and genuinely caring—something that really mattered during what was an emotional trip for us.
The B&B itself was spotless, cosy, and full of charm. Every little detail was looked after. But what really stood out was Pam herself—she even went out of her way to iron my shirt for the funeral, without us even asking. That small gesture meant so much, and it’s rare to meet someone who goes above and beyond like that.
This stay turned what could have been a sombre, forgettable visit into something unexpectedly special. We’ll definitely be back, but next time it’ll be for pleasure, not just necessity. Thank you, Pam—you’re an absolute star. Quite
- Geraldine (10/5): Exceptional - Pam was a great host. She facilitated us booking in early as we had a wedding in Trim.. Lovely room with all the facilities.
- Ramzi (10/5): Exceptional - Pam and Morris are lovely hosts. The house is beautiful and very well located if you want to leave for the airport or do a day trip to Dublin. Trim is close by with a lot of restaurants, pubs and bars. You can enjoy a delicious breakfast in the morning. This is the second time we stayed at Butterhouse and would definitely come back again.
- Rebecca (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful room with very comfortable bed. Everything was spotless.. Pam was most welcoming and allowed me to help myself to breakfast items for an early departure in the morning. Booked here last minute after a less than ideal previous night elsewhere and Butterhouse took my anxiety away and left me with a great night's rest. Would love to return and explore the area more and this will be my choice for accommodation.
- Tammy (9/5): Wonderful thanks for everything - Quiet and friendly people No tv in room lol
- O'regan (10/5): A true Irish B&B - Our favorite B&B in our 3 week holiday. The owners are the star of this review they were so friendly and engaging we felt like we were staying with family. Very comfortable room and bed with a good bathroom and delicious breakfast on offer. Short drive to town for a delicious dinner and very close to Trim Castle and other places of interest. Leaving!
- Niamh (10/5): Excellent - Lovely house and accommodation.

Keep it the same.

We had a lovely window seat in our room that was great to take in the fabulous views of the well maintained garden. If we are in the location again we will definitely be back to stay with you.

Our room was so comfortable and tastefully decorated, the shower was excellent as were the products provided for our use. Breakfast was substantial and delicious. Our host was absolutely charming.
- Michael (10/5): Lovely b&b in the Meath countryside. - Very nice b&b on the road into Trim. The room was quite large and had its own en-suite bathroom. Very warm (the bathroom has a heated floor) and when the main heating goes off, there is a portable radiator than can be used. Pam is a delightful host who went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. There's a plentiful breakfast to be had each morning, with a wide choice of fresh food and coffee or tea, and fruit juice. The whole set up was perfect.
- Choy (10/5): Warm, friendly, clean and well worth a visit. We would return! - We loved the facility and its owners. It is exceptionally clean, well furnished, and warm. Our bedroom was clean, tidy and spacious. The breakfast was delicious and included eggs, bread/toast, fruit, yogurt, juice, coffee/tea and wonderful conversation. The grounds of the B&B are delightful and include cows.
- Michelle (8/5): A quick one night stay. Lovely town - Nice room. Friendly welcome. Wished we had longer to stay and relax. Great to be part of trim’s Halloween celebrations. It is a little out of town. No walking in. It’s hard to judge as we got in late and had to leave early.
