Guest Reviews
- Vasiliki (10/5): A paradise on earth - A paradise on earth — it was the best accommodation we had during our whole trip to the Philippines. The owners really take care of everything in the house and had prepared everything for us. I would definitely come back.
The house is spacious, with plenty of room, and the balcony is unbelievably beautiful. They provided air conditioning, fans, cozy lighting, and fast internet. Next to the accommodation, you can visit or order from a nearby hotel and enjoy drinks or great food.
Communication with the owners was excellent, and we would definitely recommend this place. There is nothing not to like
- Oscar (4/5): Cool place but disappointed - Very look place with amazing view Power went out multiple times leaving the room pitch black and very hot.
- Fanny (10/5): - Absolument tout !!!! Rien!
Mieux vos être véhiculé.
- Pat (1/5): - I really liked meeting the owner. He was awesome. He was also very aggravated that booking.com listed this place for rent, and he had already instructed them there were no rooms available , but they still listed it and sent me there and took me way up a mountain road in a little Toyota Corolla, which wasn't meant for them road. In the pitch black at ten o'clock
- William (9/5): Superb - Amazing views 👏 and spectacular scenery nice pool next door. Friendly people.. Could do with a fresh drinkwater supply as lugging water up the hill was a daily chore. Also needs solar thermal (free) hot water. Automatic car would not go up dreaded hill. Not a place for the faint-hearted.
- Yany (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mar (3/5): Dreadful - I wish I could recommend this Airbnb, but unfortunately, our experience was deeply disappointing. I wish I could recommend this Airbnb, but unfortunately, our experience was deeply disappointing. While the views are stunning and the potential of this place is clear, several critical issues made our stay unpleasant and unsafe.
1. Accessibility Nightmare: The road leading to the Airbnb is so steep and muddy that taxis refuse to go up—even in good weather. The owner dismissed our concerns, blaming the rainy season (even though we stayed in perfect weather). When we asked for help getting to the main road with heavy luggage, the owner offered to arrange transport—for a fee. In contrast, the hotel next door provides this service free of charge, recognizing the difficulty of the location.
2. No Hot Water: Shockingly, there is no hot water. The owner claimed they had to “choose between air conditioning or hot water.” This is unacceptable, especially when nearby accommodations manage to offer both.
3. Safety Concerns: On our last day, after paying the owner to arrange transport down the hill, we encountered a terrifying incident. At the bottom of the hill, a man approached us with a knife, forcing us to flee in panic. The hotel driver ran, leaving us to fend for ourselves. Some of us walking down the hill were injured while trying to escape. This experience proved the owner’s claim that the area is “secure” to be entirely false.
4. Unhelpful and Patronizing Host: The owner spoke to us in a patronizing manner and positioned every basic request as a “favor”—with a cost attached. Need guidance on appliances? None provided. Need towels? Be prepared to leave a deposit and return them to get your money back.
5. Poor Facilities: The toilet has no door, making privacy an issue. The place feels half-finished, and the lack of basic amenities, like hot water and functional instructions for appliances, is unacceptable at this price point.
This could be a wonderful stay with proper management and care. However, as it stands, I cannot recommend it.
- Rob (10/5): Exceptional -
- Rob (10/5): Amazing location and property - A beautifully designed property set in an amazing location. Outside looks like a traditional Philippines Kubo, inside has all the mod cons The road to the property off the highway is currently part of a construction site. It is steep and loose gravel - not great for a 2 wheel drive. But I assume this will be sealed once construction is finished.
- Hannah (4/5): I think the accommodation is over priced for what it is. - The view of the hotel ist amazing. As it says in the description the hotel is a little bit far from the city but close to some cool beaches. The oven didn’t work. The owner repaired it at our last day there. When we started cooking there came a lot of insects from everywhere what we found very disgusting. Also there isn’t any oil or herbs or anything else to cook. So if you want to cook you have to buy everything by yourself.
The floor of the apartment has some slots where animals can come in. And the problem is that because of this slots the cold air from the air condition can go out easily and it’s never really cold inside what makes it hard to sleep. But you can use a fan as well.
- Jan (8/5): We loved it and will be back! - Marianne and her husband built a beautiful place with a magnificent view! Watching the sunset over the sea from the veranda in natural surroundings was truly special! Veranda, living room, kitchen and bathroom are set up with many thoughtful details - we did not miss anything and will be back next time we are in Palawan!
- Magdalena (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kathleen (7/5): Good - Lovely modern features and amazing views of el nido bay! It’s up a steep unpaved 300m driveway that you have to walk up as the local tricycles can’t manage it. There’s no hot water for a shower. The wifi didn’t work. And the beds were fairly uncomfortable.
- Jackie (8/5): Very good - The room was incredible, especially the vue but also how great the room looked. The bed were so comfortable and the shower was lovely. Mariame and Zach were nice and helpful even going an extra mile for us.
The hotel next door with a pool was accessible for 500 pesos spent on drinks and meal which was ideal.
It is really peaceful The location is far from anything and the road to get to the place is tricky as no tricycle can go up the hill, so a car will be needed. Scooter might be a bit dangerous with the state of the road at the moment .
It did not bothered us but the toilet has no door.
- Vladimir (10/5): Exceptional - Exceptional view to sunsets from the spacious patio. It's just insane.
Brand new facility, furniture, equipment, etc
Very clean
Extremely helpful and supportive owner
Restorant is available in the nextdoor hotel Towels are not provided
No hot water
- Eva (7/5): Good - The accommodation is new and beautifully furnished. You have a fantastic view from the terrace.
Great hotel next door, which offers very good food and good service in general. Communication with the owner was difficult. Not even water was offered on arrival. As the accommodation is rather remote, it would be great if there was at least drinking water available on arrival. Although the description offered that they would help organise excursions, we ended up booking our tour at the hotel next door. It is easier to get there with a motorbike than a car.
