Guest Reviews
- Robbie (10/5): The stay was fantastic would definitely stay again - It was well centred to town center and also the show field There where plenty space warm and good facilities
- Theresa (10/5): Fabulous - The accommodation is within walking distance of Kirkwall's sightseeing attractions, shops, supermarkets, restaurants, and so on, and also for the bus station and ferry terminal. The apartment is just lovely. A fully equipped kitchen with everything needed to prepare/cook meals. Upstairs, there is a nice dining area. The living-room area is spacious and light/airy with comfy armchairs and a nice big telly. The two bedrooms are also of a good size. Both have masses of storage space. Really comfortable beds with attractive bed linens. The bathroom is also top-notch. It's a spacious room with a bath that is easy to get in and out of and a powerful shower with plenty of hot water. The entire apartment is spotlessly clean. The apartment has attractive furnishings and is very well presented. We had a fabulous time staying at Avondale. If we're ever lucky enough to visit the wonderful Island(s) of Orkney again, this apartment is where we would want to stay. Nothing not to like.
- Guest (10/5): We'll be back 😍 - Was very impressed with the property. It was very clean, modern and spacious. Plenty of everything in the kitchen and extras we didn't expect, sugar as tea, coffee, milk etc. Everything is shower, tv, air con etc easy to use. Will definitely stay again. Nothing

- Julie (8/5): The flat was lovely, spacious and well appointed. Generally we had a very good stay. - There were no hooks for clothing.
The Skyllight in the main bedroom kept us awake for the first night. We were a party of late 70yr olds.
The only way to close it was to stand on the bed using a pole. We failed.
- Harry (9/5): Superb - Everything was modern and clean with most of the amenities that you would expect.
The beds were comfortable and there was always plenty of hot water.
It is a couple of minutes drive to a supermarket. The main problem was the lack of a washing machine (although there is a public laundry in town). Had there been a washing machine, this apartment would easily have been a 10.
A minor point - the kitchen was downstairs but there was no tray to carry food upstairs to the dining table (Insufficient room to eat in the kitchen)
The driveway was wide but usually had a couple of commercial vehicles in it, although there was always a space left for a car. The problem was that you need to back in, which was a little difficult with a strange, just rented car as there is a small wall sticking out from the front of house and a slight turn. With your own car, I doubt there would be any problem.
- Isobel (9/5): Lovely, comfortable place to stay and central to all amenities in Kirkwall. - Beautifully decorated apartment within easy walking distance of the centre of Kirkwall. Delighted that the owners had left supplies for tea and biscuits on arrival. Very difficult to find due to lack of number of name on the premises. Would recommend a Bodum coffee pot in kitchen equipment and a few extra wine glasses.
- Axel (10/5): Exceptional -
- Alison (9/5): Very enjoyable - Excellent apartment, close to town.
- Erna (9/5): A very comfy few days in a modern spacious flat. - The flat was very comfortable, spacious yet cosy.
The skylight about the bed allowed us the watch the stars before drifting off to sleep.
The kitchen was very well equipped. The trip up stairs with my cuppa from the kitchen on ground level.
- John (9/5): Superb -
- Marian (9/5): Superb - Easy access to town centre, bus station and tourist office. Nothing really
