Guest Reviews
- Carol (10/5): - Lovely location with nice walks. 2 great pubs walking distance. Very comfortable, well fitted out N/A
- Janis (9/5): Comfortable, clean, spacious accommodation with parking, ideal for exploring local area. - Spacious, comfortable, clean, tastefully decorated, good location for exploring the area, easy walking distance to local pub. Comfortable bed with good storage space. Powerful shower and nice to be able to have a bath if wanted. Clear directions as to how to approach the accommodation by car. There were permanent bollards preventing entry into the area so we had to come a different route which was via an unnamed road.
Some basic things were missing - no dishwasher tabs, lovely dishwasher but we weren't able to use it. A cleaning spray to wipe down surfaces. Oven dishes/Pyrex dish with lid would have been good.
My husband found the bedroom too light so he didn't sleep so well, the venetian blinds did not block out the light enough for him, black out curtains would have been better. The accommodation states for four, second bed is a small double, so would have been a squeeze for two adults, a bigger double would have fit or two singles?
The handle on the bathroom window was broken and lay on the windowsill, no note of this by owner/agent/cleaner, would have been good if fixed or at least acknowledged. The handwash contained a watered down dribble.
Basic instructions as to get the tv working would have been useful, we are not all great with technology.
- Laura (9/5): Lovely view of the river in a nice well equipped flat and comfy bed. - Great location right by the river. Well equipped kitchen and the bed in the master bedroom was very comfy. Enjoyed sitting out on the balcony too. Nothing
- Deborah (1/5): Disturbing - As I'm allowed to leave another review because of concurrent stays, I'll elaborate on previous. Nice house, but.... As outlined in my previous review, a man let himself in while we were asleep, a very disturbing experience. As I'd unfortunately booked more nights due to my family matters going on longer than I'd expected, I had no choice but to continue staying in a house where we couldn't sleep properly due to being worried about who else might just let themselves in. Didn't feel safe leaving personal items out while we were out, either.
The managers don't respond to any emails or social media messages, I've been offered a paltry amount of compensation via Booking.com for what is actually a criminal offence.
AC Thoroughbreds are obviously not to be trusted if they can't face up to their responsibilities to their guests. Absolutely shocking.
- Deborah (1/5): Great if you're happy with randoms letting themselves in while you're in your undies - The house itself is lovely, very comfortable with everything you need, but, and it's a big but... After being there a few days, and actually having booked more days as we liked it so much, my husband was shocked awake by a man's voice just outside the bedroom door. He claimed that a message had been sent (it hadn't) and he was a 'director' and here about doing some PAT testing. To say we were horrified is an understatement. We cannot believe this man just let himself in, even in years of private renting with some pretty grim landlords no one has ever done such a thing. We both had hardly any clothes on as to be expected in this hot weather and being still in bed.
As we were staying here on some very stressful personal business we needed a safe bolt hole to get away from what we are dealing with, this has made a difficult time even more upsetting and has triggered panic attacks.
As there was no chain to put on the door we had a sense of unease for the rest of our stay and slept terribly as a result.
I have emailed the house contact twice about this and been ignored.
It makes you wonder how many other times these people go poking around when guests aren't in, I think he was a little shocked to find us there, sorry mate, we happen to be night owls and aren't out by 'normal' people time.
Practical stuff: the street facing bedroom badly needs blackout blinds or curtains, it's disfiguringly bright on these light summer mornings.
- Will (9/5): Superb - Location
Everything was very clean on arrival
All the facilities you needed were there
- Shirley (7/5): The house was nice, comfortable and well heated, but the access stairs were problematic. - The property was in a quiet location and was nicely decorated, clean, tidy, well heated and had comfy beds. The property was difficult to get to because the car satnav directed us along the High Street which ends in a dead end. It would have been helpful to be told to go via Rowhedge Wharf Road.
There is no mention of the steep set of stairs up to the property. This did cause problems as my husband is not able to walk very well. Also I understand that the house is for a maximum of four people, but no account was given to additional guests for an evening - only four knives, forks, spoons etc. There is no tumble dryer as shown in the Booking.com details. No oven gloves. No special clear refuse bags for rubbish. We put rubbish out on Wednesday, as specified in the information brochure but it was not taken). The information brochure was not up to date (The Anchor Pub had closed down and therefore there was no where to eat within walking distance).
- Danwood (10/5): Everything was great :-) - Everything was great. From beginning until the end. :) Our workers who have stayed here were really happy and enjoyed their stay. We will certainly come back!
- Zahra (10/5): Beautiful, cosy property. Great hosts. Thank you, loved it :) - Loved the facilities. Fireplace and Christmas tree were really nice touches. Hosts were super accommodating and checked in to make sure everything was ok. Nothing
- Nirosh (10/5): Exceptional -
- Richard (10/5): Nicely located, great place to stay for any duration. - Great clean and pleasant place with the tranquility I was looking for, I stayed for a month and it has all the facilities required.
Nicely located and if the opportunity arises,I would certainly book again and recommend. Nothing to say here
- Aisha (10/5): Would definitely come back ! - Very clean and comfortable No toothpaste !
