Guest Reviews
- Stuart (8/5): Lovely beach walks, great food, saw puffins! (On a boat trip from Seahouses to The Farne Islands) - The location is fabulous. It was clean and tidy. Had everything you would want in terms of cooking, watching tv. The small bedroom is a squeeze, as is the shower for a 6 footer. Not deal breakers though 😉.
- faye (10/5): We had a lovely stay at Moonstone. The accommodation was very clean and comfortable, and it’s locate - We had a lovely stay at Moonstone. The accommodation was very clean and comfortable, and it’s located in a quiet, safe area with a short walk to both the beach and the town centre. We felt very secure throughout our stay and would happily book again in the future.
- Tracey (9/5): Lovely house. - Lovely clean house. Great location. Lovely neighbours. Grill on the oven did not work. It tripped the electric when we put it on.
- David (9/5): Loved the walks along the shore. Local pubs and restaurants were good - Clean and well situated to explore the beautiful coastline
- Helen (10/5): - Quiet comfortable property with a nice field view at the back. Only a few minutes walk from the coast.
- Cara (10/5): Northumberland perfection - Beautifully situated between the village and the sea, near the shop and close to the bus stop for adventures. The house was immaculate and cosy. And so quiet - it was lovely to sleep with no noise at all. Nothing - it was a perfect stay!
- Kim (10/5): Great stay and great price. Owners very friendly and helpful too! - Great property in a perfect location😃 Nothing not to like
- hugh (8/5): Everything you needed for a short stay away in a perfect location - Location, clean & tidy Nothing !!
- Charles (10/5): -
- Kim (10/5): - The house was very clean. Everything you needed was provided. Even phone chargers in each room, which was a very thoughtful touch in this tech day of living. Very quiet, just what you need for a relaxing decompressing holiday break. Home from home. Nothing
- Richard (9/5): - Position Electric went off
- Elaine (10/5): Beadnell bliss! - Excellent place to stay liked everything about it.. Location, clean, well appointed and nothing not to like! Everything was spot on!
- Edwards (10/5): Relaxing holiday, lovely property, perfectly situated for exploring a much under-rated UK region - Access to the property was straightforward. The hosts were thoughtful in providing a bottle of milk and a packet of biscuits to greet us. The property was in an excellent location for exploring the area and the village shop, fish and chips van, Beadnell Beach were all within easy walking distance. The property was well-equipped and pleasantly decorated with a coastal theme. There was comprehensive information about the property and how everything worked, which was helpful. I found the mattress a little soft but appreciate this is personal preference. It would be good to have a note about arrangements for departure (ie what the guests are expected to do before departure) not only the check-out time.
- Jane (9/5): Lovely home in seaside village - Moonstone has everything you need in a home. It is clean, comfortable and the area is very quiet. There are plenty walks and places to visit nearby.. One bedroom is a good size but the other is very small. The living area has plenty space though..
- Curtis (10/5): Great location and enjoyed swimming in the sea - Lovely sunny garden, clean and very comfortable Nothing
- Marie (10/5): Home from home. - The location was perfect. Very well situated and near the coastline.
The property was well maintained, clean, had everything we needed. All the practical things and when we arrived and found fresh milk and biscuits!
It was cosy and homely after a long day exploring. The outdoor space was perfect for breakfast outside. No faults found.
- Thomas (9/5): - We were meeting up with family from Bedlington & the location was good. It had a nice wee patio garden so it was nice to sit out & watch the horses.
- Michele (10/5): -
- Denise (10/5): Has provided an excellent base for our stay. Facilities are brilliant, everything was provided, no negativesat all. - Everything Not a criticism but a mirror on the single bedroom wall would be nice.
- Richard (10/5): Exceptional! - Cosy and comfortable and an excellent base for exploring the area. Exceptionally well appointed with everything you could possibly need available for a short stay. Clear and comprehensive information folder explaining everything. Highly recommended. Can't think of anything!
- David (10/5): Outstanding - Perfectly located from the venue where we were attending a wedding reception. Very peaceful beds comftable property was immaculate.
Great communication from Chris and Elaine and was able to check in and hour early.
Would 100% return if ever back in the area
- Lesley (10/5): Very relaxing week visiting the Farne Islands from this lovely, quiet, well equipped house - Quiet location. Has everything you need. Easy to walk to Beadnell beach and harbour. Small but very comfortable
- Richard (10/5): Exceptional -
- B (10/5): Exceptional -
- Josephine (10/5): Exceptional - Nice and cosy, very clean.
- Julie (10/5): Super house in Beadnell - Great location,, close to local amenities, including village shop, pub, bus stop, beach. On a quiet, residential street.Nice outdoor space.
The house is thoughtfully equipped with everything you need for a relaxing, hassle free stay. Nothing
- Donna (7/5): Lovely, well-equipped 1 bedroom flat. - The location was great for us to visit Lindisfarne (after a day at Alnwick, Bamburgh and Dunstanburgh). The hosts were very thoughtful with all the cords everywhere for plugging in phones and tablets. The apartment was spotless. We especially liked sitting out on the patio, drinking a glass of wine and watching the horses next door. The 2nd bedroom was really a closet. Yes, there was a twin bed in there, but the room was so small that my pal couldn't even get her backpack in there and had to leave it in the hall!
- Heather (7/5): Pleasant, cosy and comfortable house in excellent location. - Pleasant house in excellent location. The kitchen is well equipped, the bed comfortable and there are very good blinds and curtains to keep the light out. A quiet area but convenient for the local facilities, beach, shop, pubs and bus. The lounge is lovely, the house is beautifully decorated with artwork and there is an attractive outside seating area. Unfortunately the bathroom was not cleaned very well with numerous cobwebs, dust in several areas and hairs in the bath. It seemed as though this was an oversight as the rest of the property was well cleaned.
- Mariana (9/5): Well equipped fantastic location for a Northumbrian holiday. - Brilliant location to explore Northumbria especially the beautiful coastline. Lovely and peaceful. Facilities equipment instructions and guides for what to do had all been very well thought through. There were even biscuits and milk to welcome us! Perfect for a couple and a couple with a child. Second bedroom quite small - fine for a short stay.
- Kelly (8/5): weekend stay - loved how close it was to the beach and to a few pubs and little town shop the heating was storaged heaters it was freezing when we arrived,, took a long time to heat up
- Julie (9/5): Superb - Our stay at moonstone was very good facilities in property were home from home everything you need. Location was amazing. So quite but just a short walk to beach and local pubs. Excellent for exploring northumberland. A great little property definitely recommend it.
- Stephen (10/5): Very enjoyable - Position of the accommodation was very good, great access to beaches and walks.
- Jill (10/5): Great place very comfortable - Fabulous little house , every thing you need very comfortable .
- Moayad (9/5): Superb -
- Kim (9/5): Superb -
- Bob (9/5): Great value long weekend in a lovely home from home. - Great little house in one of my favourite places! Great communication from the owners. Lovely clean house with great facilities and excellent value for money. N/A
- Colin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Keith (7/5): Enjoyable experience in cosy, homely house. - Communication was always punctual and helpful, directions easy to follow, entry to house via key box was simple. The weather was cold at times, but the property was warm and cosy. Everything was at the property for an enjoyable stay.
The kitchen had all the amenities, the bed was comfortable, the towels for bathroom were thick and soft, hot water was good. The house was very homely with a nice nautical theme adorning it. Lovely view to the rear of an open field with a horse. Village was pleasant to walk round with nice restaurants/pub. Easy access to beach a few minutes walk away. Overall experience was very enjoyable. Would definitely return. Nothing really.
- Gillian (10/5): Exceptional - Only a few minutes walk to Beadnell Stores and restaurants _ The Courtyard Cafe, Craster Arms, Beadnell Towers and Saltwater Cafe. 15 minutes walk to the Beach and The Landing restaurant, and also a Pizza outlet on the Bay. Everything you could need for your home from home,, including little step stools for those high cupboards. Welcome pack of milk, chocolate chip cookies, tea, coffee. Toiiletries and. Cleaning materials provided also, and in a lovely quiet location overlooking a field. I did need to make use of the heating, which soon warmed up. There is an Overbath electric shower, and after a chilly day exploring northumberland made use of the bath where there was plenty of hot water. Nothing bad to say.
- Linda (10/5): A little gem of a holiday property - It was all of the thoughtful little touches that made it an exceptional stay. Better than home from home. Absolutely nothing to dislike.
- John (9/5): Superb -
- Brian (10/5): Lovely accommodation, clean and well equipped -
- Bruce (8/5): Very good - 2nd bedroom a bit small
- Derek (10/5): Exceptional - Everything. Moonstone has everything you need and more for a very enjoyable, restful holiday. Nothing
- Kim (10/5): Fantastic stay - Enjoyed the whole stay, property has everything that we need Nothing
- Patricia (9/5): Excellent - The property had a good location it was very comfortable and very very clean I really can’t fault the property the only fault for me personally was there was no freezer or freezer compartment in the fridge
- Richard (10/5): This is a really great place for a week's stay on the Northumberland coast. - This is a really great place for a week's stay on the Northumberland coast, and it's a real home from home, with just about everything you could want. It's an easy 5 minute walk to the nearest beach, and a very pleasant 15 minute walk to another even better beach. It has private, off street parking, and it's in a quiet area. The house is spotlessly clean and tidy, very well equipped, and very comfortable to stay in. It has a nice outside patio area to relax in, comfortable beds (a double and a single in separate rooms), a decent shower (over the bath), washing machine, large TV etc. There are also lots of nice little touches, all in the 'beach holiday' theme , which give the place a relaxing, holiday vibe. Chris (the owner) was friendly and easy to communicate with, and the whole experience at Moonstone was spot on. Nothing!
- Elaine (9/5): Loved it - N/a
- Ann (10/5): Great holiday - Property was amazing - so clean and inviting, and provided everything we needed during our stay . Lovely little patio area to sit in the sun. A quiet location, easy to walk to the beach, pubs and cafés N/A
- Andrew (10/5): Excellent. - Prior to our arrival, The communication from the owners, Chris and Elaine was excellent. They were very accommodating and were able to facilitate our arrival slightly earlier than expected. The property had everything that you could possibly need, and more. We were playing golf in Northumberland, spending 2 nights in Beadnell after a couple of days golfing in Hexham. This property was situated between 2 cracking courses (BCGC & DCGC). Pity we couldn’t have stayed a bit longer. I would recommend 10/10.
- Margaret (10/5): A really relaxing comfortable stay with everything you needed. We love Beadnell and would definitely stay here again. - What an absolute gem! This was a fantastic property excellent location, really clean and comfortable and all the added extras were brilliant. All you need to take is your own food, everything else had been provided, all the little touches, cleaning materials, kitchen roll, foil, washing machine tablets etc. Located in the centre of the village walking distance to everything. A lot of thought and effort has gone in to making this property a real ‘home from home’ My only criticism is there is no freezer compartment in the fridge so no ice for my G & T
- Brian (10/5): Clean, comfortable, well appointed house. - Modern amenities. Very clean and well equipped.
- Anthea (10/5): Good holiday - Nothing
- Michele (10/5): Exceptional -
- Rodney (10/5): A perfect stay in a fab house in a beautiful village. - House absolutely perfect, the hosts have really made it pleasing on the eye with everything coordinating. There was seating outside not overlooking anyone which was perfect as the weather turned out better than anticipated. Local village store has everything you need, just a pity it closes at 5pm if you’ve been out all day. Would recommend anyone to stay here they won’t be disappointed. Absolutely nothing, our only problem was we have an Aga at home so not used to ovens, we only used it once, so won’t be a problem to other people.
- Kim (10/5): Lovely accommodation to relax in at the end of a busy day. - Very clean, homely, with good facilities, lovely little back garden looking over a field. The house is in a village estate not too far from where we wanted to be to visit Bamburgh and Holy Island. Very helpful and easily contactable owners, whom we didn’t meet but we communicated through friendly texts and conversations. Milk and cookies left for us.
For info, we are siblings who wanted separate rooms, the single second bedroom is quite small but suited us. Nothing.
- Bee (9/5): An excellent location for those enjoying walking, but also for excursions further afield. - the house is well equippe.d, well situated and spotless. Fresh milk in fridge and gorgeous chocolate biscuits to welcome us were very much appreciated. Thank you. Excellent location for walking and also longer excursions by car to places such as Bamburgh, Holy Island, Alnwick, Dunstanburgh and many other locations the curtains and blinds are very light and do not shut out enough light at night, also the blind in the small bedroom rattles when the window is opened, which was a drawback.
Also the map with hand-drawn footpaths could be a little bit clearer and more exact, given there are so many new houses to get lost in while trying to find the right footpath.
- Douglass (10/5): Fantastic house - A lovely house with all you need for a fantastic stay. Plenty of charging points around the property and proper toilet rolls. The property is nicely situated for all amenities in the village. I would recommend this property highly.
- Mike (8/5): Very good -
- Maureen (9/5): Superb -
- John (9/5): Superb - Good location, modern and clean.
- Brian (9/5): Superb -
- Elena (10/5): Exceptional - The cosiness and just how warming and welcoming it was. Would love to stay again

- Philip (10/5): Exceptional - The house was just the right size for a couple it was very well equipped went over and above warm lovely touches such as an Amazon dot and charging leads really good for the beach and pubs and restaurants it was super clean and comfortable Nothing it was perfect
- Kim (9/5): Great stay in a fab location. Would totally recommend. - Property is a great find. It has everything you need 🎉 the attention to detail is great! The owners are responsive and so helpful. Fab location and great value for money! Nothing not to like!
- Paul (10/5): Exceptional -
- Susan (10/5): Exceptional - Moonstone was well equipped and comfortable. The location was a few minutes walk from the sea.
- Philip (8/5): Good. The house was nice and very clean. A mug was cracked. - The bed is a double but would have preferred a king size.
The settee was uncomfortable.
- Nina (10/5): It was amazing - Absolutely nothing at all.
- Julie (9/5): A perfect stay in a cosy house ideally placed to enjoy Beadnell and the surrounding area. - The property was immaculate, very clean with comfy, thoughtful touches. A lovely comfortable bed (there's a single room as well, which I didn't use). Everything I needed for my stay was there. Good quality. Great location. Lovely little garden overlooking a field with horses, perfect to sit with morning coffee or a glass of wine at the end of the day. I loved it. Very little to criticise but if I'm being very picky I would warn tall people who enjoy a soak after a day's walking that the bath is on the short side, but I managed (lol) and it most definitely wouldn't put me off returning, which I hope to do.
- Anthony (9/5): Excellent Location. Above normal standard of facilities and furnishings and exceptionally clean. - Instructions for arrival and collection of keys were very thorough and easy to find the keys.
Property was exceptionally clean and the furnishings and fittings were to of a very high standard.
On site parking was a bonus and very close to the beach.
Wi-fi, Smart TV, Alexa and remote control lighting were excellent and above what is in many holiday lets.
General standard was well above what most holiday lets have. I would definetly stay here again. Nothing.
- Murray (8/5): Felt quite at home in house, very comfortable and had everything that I needed - Fleecy blankets in living area in case it got cold. Well stocked kitchen with everything you would need. Lots of towels left. Nice outlook onto paddock from living area and main bedroom and seating in garden which would be lovely in summer. Very comforatble little house and ideally situated for exploring surrounding area. Off steet parking was added bonus. Hosts left milk and cookies! Shower and hot water pressure in bathroom. No light at door
- Margaret (8/5): Could have stayed longer. - Refurbished: bright and clean. Back overlooked lovely green space. Narrow street. Private parking area at front very helpful. Handy to Bamburgh, Seahouses, and Holy Isle.
- William (9/5): Very pleasant place to stay (property and location). We had a lovely holiday. - Location - easy access to the beach and nice walks along the beach to Seahouses and Bamburgh.
Well appointed property with everything we needed for our stay
Free Wi-Fi
Coffee, tea and biscuits upon arrival was a nice surprise
Hosts were very responsive/helpful to enquiries Seats in the dining area weren’t all that comfortable when having our meal.
Blinds in the property didn’t really allow for total privacy.
- Claire (10/5): Exceptional - The house was beautifully furnished and immaculate. There was everything we needed for a comfortable stay.
- Jill (10/5): Fabulous place will return again and again 100% - Fabulous stay Nothing at all was fabulous
- Rachel (8/5): Very good -
- Melissa (8/5): Moonstone is a beautiful, relaxing and peaceful place to stay - Moonstone is a property that is located in a good position in Beadnell. It has a private garden that is not overlooked and overlooks a field that has horses in it, it is peaceful and relaxing place to stay. The property has Wifi and an informative instruction book for operating the technology etc. When you sit outside you can hear the sea and if you are a stargazer, although there is some light pollution from neighbouring properties etc. you can see more of the stars in the night sky than you would in a city. The property is located within walking distance to the The Craster Arms pub, the church, and other eateries. There is a shop, chippy van operating in the evenings on most days. You are also located within walking distance of Beadnell Bay which is a protected beach from the main rigours of the North Sea therefore making it a safe place for children learning to swim or paddle board. The is an adjoining small harbour. There are costal walks to go galivanting and within easy reach is the town of Seahouses. Seahouses has a petrol station, shops, eateries, sea trips to the neighbouring Farne Islands, a fair was on the for children on the way to Seahouses and there were other activities going on for children within Seahouses itself. It was not really a dislike more information for other people - the property was presented very well, clean, modern and tidy with all the equipment you need to make your stay a good one. The only thing that was an issue for my friend and I was that there is a double bed and bunk beds, therefore I slept on the settee which was very comfortable. The property serves well a family with 2 children, but there is extra capacity to sleep on the settee and there were other chairs to sit on in the living room also. The property would benefit from a retractable washing line in the back garden and a sun umbrella as there is capacity to put one in the hole in the patio table.
- Vic (9/5): A fantastic short getaway for a family birthday which was perfect, nicely close to the beach and amenities, a very pleas - Perfect, very cosy and nicely decorated, ideal location, peaceful & quiet Nothing
- Moira (10/5): Thoroughly enjoyed our stay - lovely home to come back to at the end of each enjoyable day - Breakfast as such was not available but the basics of tea, coffee, milk, sugar, cereals, biscuits etc. were provided to get us started. Small supermarket very close by for essentials and many shops in Seahouses nearby Nothing - all excellent plus good value & very comfortable beds
- Wendy (10/5): Exceptional - As a couple, we liked everything about Moonstone. Nothing, even the weather was good!
- Helen (10/5): Perfect location, very comfortable and immaculate house - Fantastic, well finished and very comfortable house. Excellent comms from the hosts.
Fresh milk and biscuits, tea and coffee too.
Felt very newly refurbished and perfectly appointed. Everything we could need- even Alexa!
Had a feeling of solidly built, stairs solid, new carpeting. Airy and fresh. Dedicated parking for one car, but room on the road of more needed
Beds very comfortable and outside space was perfect. Lovely location overlooking a field with horses in. Few minutes walk to the beach/bay and also to the local pub and shop.
We weren’t sure what to expect as the house is on a little housing estate, but it was peaceful and perfectly located for our needs. Everything was great.
- Ann (8/5): Thoroughly comfortable - Location parking and peaceful
- Fiona (10/5): excellent - owners were very attentive/in contact, lovely house, great location, very quiet
- Goodman (9/5): Superb - Home away from home a lovely little house with everything you could want in it. Loved watching the horses in the field in the mornings. Lovely harbour and beach just down the road and seahorses only a short drive away. Only downside were the blinds downstairs they were totally see through and gave you no privacy and the main bedroom has no blind and thin curtains were very thin so woke up at 4.30am.
If these were changed in the future we would definitely be repeat customers
- Sheila (10/5): we really enjoy our stay and would recommend. - it was clean and comfortable and with with all of your home comforts. it had been well thought out design wise. There was nothing to dislike.
- Emma (9/5): Lovely accommodation by the coast with a welcoming and cosy feel! - We were staying to attend a wedding at the nearby Newton hall. It was a short drive away and the accommodation owners gave us a number for taxis which was fantastic. The accommodation itself was lovely and clean, very homely and fit the aesthetic of the area. Would definitely stay again if up in this area of the country in future! The shower was the only downside, pressure was weak but nothing that would ruin our stay!
- Valerie (8/5): Very good -
- Jill (10/5): lovely Relaxing stay, all mod cons every thing you need fabulous - everything very comfortable clean quiet
