Guest Reviews
- sandra (9/5): -
- Simmoski (9/5): Ideal hub - Everything, comfortable bed, regular supply of food, very clean, good communication with owner/occupier.
Very peaceful 馃檹 Possibly a lack of small TV, but it did give me time to read and listen to music.
- Ayshe (10/5): Comfortable, cozy home away from home. - Parking, easy access, locations is close to where I needed to be. Was clean. Was well heated and the shower room was nice. Very limited food places nearby especially in the evening. So need to think ahead and bring food bits!
- Paul (7/5): -
- Chris (8/5): - Breakfast and location good. Melody (host) very pleasant and friendly. Although accommodation small, it was private, clean and perfectly fine for a 2 person overnight stay. OK rather than easy to find and slightly awkward getting out onto the main road. This also made going out again in the evening slightly discouraging. Recommend reversing in !
- Justin (6/5): Very nice, thank you. - The bed was very comfortable as was the shower and bathroom. The location and directions were spot on too, thank you. The room was very clean. We couldn鈥檛 turn down the heating and there鈥檚 no windows to open. Also it鈥檚 a little bit strange being able to hear the family next door and above us. These are all minor points though as we really enjoyed our night there.
- michael (8/5): - Clean tidy and well presented breakfast was available and having a fridge was very handy. The gates and pulling on to the road was not easy to then shut the gates.
Due to the remote location having a TV would have been nice.
- Daniel (7/5): Nice place to stay for the money - Nice place to rest after a busy day. Came back and enjoyed the pastries and ham and cheese for dinner. Great communication from the host and was easy to find. I didn鈥檛 find the driveway stressful - just edge out gently and you鈥檒l be fine. Cars coming along have plenty of time to see anyone pulling out. No sound insulation although hosts did go to bed early. Very warm room and had the fan on all night. I burnt myself on the heated towel rail getting out of the shower so be careful on that - towel was nicks and warm though :)
- Chris (10/5): Very good overnight stay, definitely recommended, very good value - Very quiet and serene
- Saville (8/5): - Met all my expectations
Good value Have to stop car in the road to get in and out of the gate
- Nick (8/5): Warm welcome with spacious accommodation - Great host providing lovely breakfast. Good facilities . Excellent value in a desirable location . May have been difficult to find in darkness / nighttime.
- Fay (8/5): Nice for the price but could be better, see above - Comfortable bed, nice shower, provisions good No bin by kettle, no lamp one side of the bed, bathroom could have been cleaner, decking slippery
- Richard Day-Lewis (8/5): Super - All very good Alll g么od, getting off the road could be difficult.
- Graham (8/5): Very satisfactory - backing out in to the road was a little stressful.
- Ruth (7/5): Good overnight stay - Little decking area.
Everything we needed.
Excellent value for money Slightly nerve wracking exiting on to busy road with limited line of sight
- Maria (10/5): A comfortable and welcoming stay with a thoughtful and compassionate host. - The property was clean, comfortable, and well equipped. Melody was very kind, flexible, and understanding during a difficult time, which made a big difference. The room had everything needed for a comfortable stay and felt welcoming. There was nothing I didn鈥檛 like.
- Gill (10/5): pleasurable - breakfast included granola , a choice of jogurts, wholewheat rolls , sourdough bread , butter , croissant au pain , cheese, ham with a choice of jams .
tea and coffee with fresh milk .
large shower and bathroom
central heating makes the flat very cosy
Melody is a most gracious host and is keen to make your stay enjoyable .
- Glenys (4/5): Melody was very pleasant , we would not stay again , not value for money - ? Bathroom very dirty around radiator, shower tiles and grouting Discoloured , dusty skirting area .
Hairs in bed
Adjoining to house so heard people in house above us
Very warm , no windows to open
- Juliet (9/5): Compact but well designed facilities - The bedroom and bathroom were compact but perfectly designed. I spent 2 nights there and was able to heat food I鈥檇 brought with me in the microwave. The food left for me (bread roll, 2 slices of bread, ham, cheese slices, pain au chocolat, yoghurts and granola) was enough for breakfast and to make sandwiches for the day.
Excellent location to explore National Trust properties. The gate was a bit awkward especially as I was a solo traveller. Melody did close it for me when I left on the first day.
- Peter (8/5): - Location was good for what we wanted. The facilities were basic but ok. Some sort of TV or radio would have been appreciated.
- Nevill (8/5): Overnight stay at Brindles. - The room was nicely furnished. Bathroom was good and warm. Good food selection and hot drinks supplied, plenty of milk too. No communication before I arrived to say that they were out. I had to ring several times and was very worried that I had no where to stay. Opened gates and drove in. Walked all around and found the door to my room with key in it. What a relief but was very stressful.
No TV in the room.

- ana (10/5): Maravillosa habitaci贸n - Excelente habitaci贸n.
- Mark (9/5): - Very nice quiet place
- Joan (8/5): -
- Alex (10/5): -
- Jane (6/5): - It would have been nicer if we could have had a television in the room.
- Fiona (9/5): Good facilities and location and good value all round - Breakfast really good, covered our tastes and needs.Room and unsuited all good Getting off road tricky, but main road not busy so minor issue
- Kristin (9/5): -
- Geoff (9/5): Excellent value. - The location and the quietness. No television.
- Geoff (9/5): Great place for us - Nice room, great location close to a place we wanted to visit close to the tunnel. Had an evening pack up tea on the deck on one of the hottest nights.
Breakfast was fine with plenty of items available.
- Alun (8/5): Very good -
- Kevin (9/5): Reasonable and comfortable - Very comfortable in quiet location and satisfactory continental breakfast
Great pub and evening meal at Milk House, few minutes by car
- Anna (8/5): Very good - Everything, especially the continental breakfast goodies. Although small the room was perfectly formed! I wouldn't say I didn't like it but there is a connecting door to the main house. So if you are a very private person this might concern you although any sound that travelled I found minimal and not intrusive.
- Louise (9/5): Ok for a one night stay - Bed very comfortable
Great extras provided - cereals, milk, bread etc No ventilation other than leaving the French doors open.
Very busy road - dangerous to get in and out
No TV
No bin inside the room
Wasn鈥檛 very clean - shower drain clogged with hair
- Judith (10/5): A hidden gem of a room, perfectly located to visit Sissinghurst House. I would stay again. - Lovely sun filled private annex next to the garden. Very comfortable bed, it was lovely just chilling in the room. Generous continental breakfast left in the room. Lovely home owner. No tv in the room. Shower could have been cleaner, it had mould inside.
- Stephen (9/5): Would like to return - Good breakfast to cater for celiac guest. The host was lovely, so was the locatuon Cleaner shower tiles. Drive access a bit tricky.
- Morag (10/5): Comfortable and convenient - Having my own access and the excellent continental breakfast A tv and Wi-Fi would be good
- Shane (10/5): Exceptional -
- Claire (7/5): Good -
- Fabrice (8/5): Perfect motorist one night stay for Sissinghurst and Scotney gardens. - Host puts a high visibility jacket on the gate to help finding the entrance. Good idea. Although we found the place easily after a quick check on Google Street View. Warm welcome. Host helped us with the main gate. Ham and cheese were available in the fridge for beakfast. There were pastries, slices of bread, yogurt, a toaster and a micro-wave.
Butter and marmelade too, of course. More than enough. The place is quiet and relaxing. Nice stay if you come by car.
We enjoyed dinner in Cranbrrok (approx 5 km away), at George Hotel. A remote controlled gate would be a smart investment since merging into traffic is not that easy. I suggest visitors to enter the drive way in reverse.
- Jo (10/5): Very comfortable stay. Quiet and close to Sissinghurst. - Well Priced. Very comfortable. Fridge & microwave very helpful. Quiet and looking out onto a lovely garden. nothing
- Warner (8/5): Very good -
- Jennifer (9/5): Superb -
- Mark (9/5): Superb - Fridge very useful after warm day.
Continental breakfast options included.
Cranbrook not far away for evening meal.
- Roger (7/5): Okay, but not for a long stay. Good for us to rest up and get over jet lag. - Clean, Melonie was very responsive and gave us a very warm welcome. It is a very quiet location. Easy days out, Sissinghurst castle, white cliffs of Dover, Knoll. Good shop in local village and Milk House pub. It is a small room and an attached bathroom in a private home. Only a small fridge and a microwave, although the fridge was stocked with breakfast things and snacks. You will need a car to explore the area.
- Barry (7/5): Happy - Breakfast was fine Would like a television
- Xiaochun (10/5): Exceptional -
- David (9/5): Peaceful and great value - Wonderfully peaceful, quiet and private, in a superb location between Sissinghurst Gardens and the charming town of Cranbrook. Very tasty continental breakfast in the room. Very comfortable bed.
The only problems were very limited storage space, and it was a bit tricky to manoeuvre our (small) car.
- Tony (8/5): It was ideal for what we needed - Location Quant
- Leonard (8/5): Just needed a one night stay, beautiful part of the country. Would stay again. - Not a cooked breakfast but more than acceptable. Plenty of choice provided alongside tea and coffee facilities.
Very pleasant host, welcoming but not intrusive, Nothing really.
- Alison (7/5): Good -
- Clare (9/5): We thank the owner for making this a perfect overnight stay - Exceptionally quiet, clean & comfortable. In addition the discounted price made it very reasonable, especially as it included a decent breakfast for two, courtesy of the fridge, toaster, microwave and kettle.
- Vicki (9/5): A lovely little room. - A lovely little room with a patio, private bathroom and fridge. A nice view of the garden from the glass doors. It was too warm for me and since there was no window, I had to leave the door ajar to be comfortable. There was no tv but I had my laptop so was ok to entertain myself.
- Geoffrey (9/5): Just as described and ideal for our one night stay - Very quiet, warm & comfortable, with a wonderful breakfast selection! Difficult to turn car around - would be better to reverse in o/a busy road in the weekday morning.
- Donkey13 (9/5): Great stay! - Overall lovely stay, wonderful helpful host. Had some issues with the heating and shower temperature, which were both very hot. The host helped turn the heating down. It was quite nerve-wracking getting in and out of the property as it is on a busy fast road and accessed through gates with no mirrors to see what's coming. Again, the host very kindly helped me get out.
- Fatima (9/5): Comfortable, clean, convenient for Sissinghurst area. What鈥檚 not to like? - Secluded room with parking directly outside. It was also nice knowing that Melody and family right next door. Good selection of drinks, milk and breakfast staples. Clean and comfortable, and outside table and chairs are very handy. Felt quite at home. Towel rail in bathroom very hot, although we probably should have looked for temperature control. No cloth to dry crockery etc so air dried them.
- Cfc (10/5): Warm & cozy. Clean and comfy - Lovely accommodation would highly recommend
- Jeremy (10/5): Exceptional - Wonderful property. Extremely comfortable and very, very clean.
Thank you.
- Lucy (10/5): Lovely Brindles - A cozy, welcoming space, super hamper of breakfast items on the side, extras like butter, yoghurt, cheese, ham and milk in the fridge, which was great so we didn't need to worry about bringing extras for eating or making tea and coffee, even hot chocolate. Little things like tasty french chocs, jam selection, jar of granola, bedding smelt amazing, hangers for clothes, really nice!
Bed was so comfy! A big deal for us, as it's not often we find this on our travels.
Perfect, cozy little space for a couple, bathroom and hot shower, lots of little extras in the bathroom cupboard, including slippers, hair stylers, shower items and towels - very nice touch!
Easy access through gate, easy key access, lovely outside space to sit on sunny days, we had breakfast outside - would like to visit in summer to enjoy that even more!
Directions and putting a high vis on the gate was really helpful, no problems finding.
The heating and hot water was super efficient, which was great and the room was super toasty on arrival, maybe a bit too warm for us, even when turned down - but nice having the door open for a bit of fresh air, and everyone likes a different shower temperature!
Responsive host, replied to all messages quickly.
Will be staying again in the future.
- Raymond (8/5): Lovely well kitted out room in a lovely area with a brillant breakfast. - Perfect location for visiting Benenden Hospital although the surrounding area is very picturesque. Room was very well equipped. Lovely Ensuite. Breakfast was brilliant. Tricky driveway gates to open as handle was broken.
Room was so very hot and no ventilation. Couldn't turn the heating down enough.
- Liam (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mariusz (9/5): Superb -
- Simon (10/5): Exceptional - This place was perfect for all my needs. Comfortable, all the facilities one could want, lovely breakfast, nice setting, clean, good communication, lovely vibe, and great value too. 100% recommended.
- Julie (8/5): Just what we wanted. - It was warm and comfortable. The gate was tricky to open but the host there and able to help.
- Davis (8/5): It fitted my needs perfectly, Melody was a very pleasant lady. - Cosy Shower tray bouncy
- Sophie (9/5): Superb -
- Natalia (10/5): Exceptional - Great communication. Clean and pleasant place
- Stephen (7/5): Okay - Good bed and everything provided. Felt quite claustrophobic and access via the gate was a hassle.
- James (9/5): Lovely accommodation - we had a very cosy, comfortable stay! - Cosy, clean, comfortable, responsive host, very good breakfast, ample parking
- Paul (10/5): Perfect peaceful getaway - Lovely, quiet and peaceful room.
Clean and comfy, Lovely food left in room and a great place to relax and rest A waste bin in the room, please!
- Peter (10/5): An excellent accommodation. - What a great room in lovely countryside. All you need in this private accommodation. Excellent value for money, the best in this otherwise expensive area. A real oasis of calm. Fully recommend. N/A
- Metcalf (8/5): Great value and would highly recommend this accommodation - Very clean and well managed No windows to open at night so the room became stuffy
- Maria (8/5): Cosy and clean. - Lovely, clean room with a bathroom attached and a small patio. There is parking space and tea, coffee, hot chocolate and breakfast offered. The host was lovely and accommodating.
- Paula (7/5): Adequate for 1 nights stay - easy to find with hi vis on gate post - Small but perfect for a single traveller
Comfortable - could do with a mirror above the desk
Chilly room but adequate plug in heater supplied Bathroom was dusty, shower tray was not supported from underneath and felt like it was going to break when you were showering
Noise from main house heard
- Malcolm (9/5): Superb -
- Graeme (7/5): Without the shower problems it would have been an enjoyable stay - Location , parking , breakfast ,friendliness Had problems with shower that impacted on getting washed and dressed in the morning . Host tried to rectify but had to come in room no turn water off that made getting ready and leaving difficult. Also no TV in room
- Alexandra (10/5): Exceptional -
- Eve (9/5): Fabulous! - Just returned from a stay at Brindles and would highly recommend it. Accommodation was lovely and peaceful and had a very comfortable bed, great shower and included an excellent self service breakfast. The location was the perfect location for the wedding we attended it is situated close to the beautiful Sissinghurst gardens. Would recommend a visit to Scotney Castle too! The Greek restaurant in Cranbrook was a good place to eat and reasonably priced. Asford Designer Outlet is worth a visit too if you want to grab some bargains! Melody was a great host and made us feel very welcome just wished we could have stayed longer.
- Jacqui (8/5): Very good -
- Anna (10/5): Quiet stay in the countryside - Spacious airy room with own little veranda. You are separate from the main house with a bathroom and a little kitchen area without a stove. Very quiet and relaxing location.
- Helen (8/5): Lovely little hideaway - Nice location tucked away. Quiet and peaceful. Good price for the area. In good weather the outside space would be lovely. Not very convenient if you didn't have a car as it is out of the way.
- David (9/5): Excellent stay - Good location for Benenden hospital, used MTC taxi. All good.
- Becky (7/5): Good - A comfortable room, with a nice basic breakfast provided. Friendly host! Make sure you put in the postcode not just road name! Maps initially took us to the wrong place (another road with same name)
- Malcolm (9/5): Superb -
- Bernadette (10/5): Rural retreat from the city. - Melody went out of her way to make my stay as comfortable as possible and to enable me to have a much needed break. The room was lovely, the bed really comfortable and the view of the beautiful garden so uplifting. It was great to have breakfast included and ready in the fridge. It was difficult not having a car in a rural setting but that said Cranbrook was in walking distance and I got lots of exercise(.There are no buses on Sundays by the way)
- Mike (10/5): Great find - Clean and v comfortable loved having an outside space Nothing
- Christopher (10/5): Gem of a room in a lovely quiet location! - Gem of a room in a quiet area. There are lovely glass doors the full width of the room that open onto a deck that overlooks the garden. The room is well supplied with tea, coffee, hot chocolate and various items for breakfast. The room is comfortable with a nice secluded feel to it. The location is probably best suited to travellers with transport. I am not sure if there is public transport that will drop you close by, a friend dropped me off there. If I am back in the area I will certainly rebook at Brindles. There was nothing I didn't like! An added bonus would have been having some orange juice in the fridge to add to the items for breakfast.
- Robert (9/5): Very enjoyable stay! - The room is attached to the main property but with a separate entrance and a lovely view on to the garden. The bed was comfortable. The en-suite bathroom was good, and there was a small fridge in the room itself. The breakfast was ideal for us. The wifi was good. We were very satisfied with our visit - thank you! We would have liked brighter lighting: it seemed a little dark for reading (but of course this is a personal reaction, perhaps it says more about our eyes!)
- Russell (9/5): Good - All that was on offer
- Lee (10/5): Great place for a stop over - Great little place , kettle with tea, coffee and hot chocolate provided .... continental breakfast for next day in fridge along with cereal and milk ...
Owners left you alone but we're on hand close by if you needed anything
Chip Shop in Sissinghurst village is fantastic too Nothing
- Lee (9/5): perfect - clean and tidy .. perfect for our stay ... tea, coffee and breakfast provided postcode doesn't get you to property ( although just a few houses down ) hosts do hang hi vis vest on gate for you to easily identify property though
- Paul (8/5): Great place to stay for visiting Sissinghurst Castle and Gardens - Continental style self service breakfast was provided (with milk and cereal) with a fridge and microwave in the room
- B.m. (8/5): Great stay, quiet, very good bed, some improvements - Nice, quiet little room. Great shower. Great bed, duvet, pillows. Breakfast ok. We were there on a hot day. Room was 27 degrees and stayed that all night. Although there was a blower/ventilator, 27 it stayed. Get a mobile aircon unit! For breakfast: get some fresh buns, hang m from the door.
- Helen (10/5): A perfect quality stay at budget price. - A perfect place to stay, great communication and details on how to check-in and directions. Especially easy to find as there was a high-viz jacket on the gate to driveway.
High quality breakfast left in the fridge and lovely crockery etc, perfect for breakfast on the small patio.
It was very quiet and felt very secluded. Fantastic price for the area. We would highly recommend for a comfortable quiet retreat. Nothing, it was all perfect.
We would for future stays bring patio chair cushions inside at night so they are dry to sit on, but that was our fault and the weather!.
- Gwynn (9/5): Great Host , Great location , quiet , Great stay. - Great host , Quiet location . Easy parking
- Christopher (10/5): Exceptional - Brilliant accommodation and exceptional value just a stones throw from Sissinghurst Castle Gardens! Private and self contained with a garden view, secure off road parking, very comfortable bed, great shower/bathroom and a lovely self-serve breakfast selection. So pleased! Everything superb!
- Jeanette (9/5): Fab property, scary access - Everything about my stay was fantastic- spotlessly clean and very comfy. Melody was friendly and helpful. The property is set just off a cross roads on a very fast road. There is very little room to pull in to the gates and as a solo traveller this was tricky. Melody was good to help me out when leaving, for which I was very grateful...
