Guest Reviews
- Angela (10/5): -
- Dagmar (10/5): - Byl to nezapomenutelný zážitek.

- Helen Kelso (10/5): Highly Recommend - I would highly recommend The Cromlix...so welcoming with a relaxing armosphere! Nothing was too much trouble for the staff Nothing to dislike

- Angela (10/5): Homely, relaxed and wonderful - A Prosecco on arrival, valet parking and a warm welcome.
We went for my husband’s birthday and were given a room upgrade which was fabulous. Beautiful property and wonderful service. Very relaxed and homely Glasshouse restaurant not very cosy for dinner although food was fabulous. More a daytime feel to it
- Ladyliz (10/5): Beautiful hotel set in charming surroundings with first class service, staff and food - Amazing suite great views Absolutely perfect
- Kerry (10/5): This was a wedding anniversary treat, and we would love to return - A luxurious retreat, lovely walks in the grounds. Staff couldn’t do enough for you Nothing not to like
- Sara (10/5): A magical couple of days in a beautiful place that felt like home. - We loved the friendly and relaxed atmosphere of this exceptionally beautiful hotel. From the moment we walked through the door it felt like we were among friends. Staff were attentive yet unobtrusive and the thought and care that had gone into every aspect of the hotel shone through. The rooms were incredibly comfortable, the interior design vibrant and joyful with an eclectic and intriguing mix of art to be discovered in every room. The food was delicious and pre-dinner cocktails in the bar or snooker room a must! Nothing
- Kevin (8/5): Great date night with the wife and amazing staff & food - The food was amazing & staff No spa or pool, very quiet.

- Clemmie (10/5): Amazing Scottish stay! - Loved the hospitality with the little touches- shortbread, chocolate, fruit, slippers. Amazing venue and lovely food! The weather was rainy and would have been nice to have more indoor facilities like a pool/ spa or gym.
- Sarah (4/5): Underwhelmed and disappointed. - The staff are very friendly, loverly building and grounds. Food not great, especially for vegans. Thought a little on the expensive side for the facilities offered.
- Neil (10/5): Lovely trip. We were made to feel very welcome but in a very relaxed and personable way. - The staff were very attentive in a very relaxed and personable way. Breakfast and dinner in the lovely dining room were both tasty and relaxing.
The grounds and hotel setting are stunning.
We will be back! There was nothing to dislike. But one very slight complaint would be the quality of the hair conditioner, but this is splitting hairs.
- Caroline (10/5): Definitely a place to return to….thank you! - Loved it, the intimate size of the whole place was fab and the style and decor of the place was just perfect. Enjoyed 2 dinners, the vegetarian choice was much appreciated even though I’m not vegetarian! We hit it lucky with the weather so sitting out at the back was such a pleasure. I liked everything although would try a different room for another stay. Also missed not having a dressing table of some sort but the staff did their best to provide a small table.
- David (9/5): - Beautiful hotel beautifully furnished. Staff were very attentive and excellent The food at dinner was a bit rich for us although it was beautifully prepared and presented. It's just not our taste and not a reflection on the quality of the food.
- Lorna (9/5): A beautiful place and exceptional staff. - Very helpful and considerate staff at reception and all the staff were excellent throughout the stay. Lovely room, beautiful surroundings, very good food. Relaxing and very comfortable.
- Martin (10/5): Cromlix luxury - Great boutique hotel, art collection ,billard room and bar . excellent hosting and service
. Stayed 1 night but will come back All good
- James (10/5): Living like the other half live. - Had the tasting menu for dinner and experienced some wonderful combinations of different flavours. Excellent. Dining room was light and airy and the service was attentive but not over the top. Can’t think of anything. Slightly more expensive than I would have liked, but overall worth the money.
- Yvonne (10/5): Outstanding! - The hotel is outstanding with beautiful surrounds. It was spotless and the staff were exceptional and go above and beyond to make you feel welcome. They have special little touches from the minute you arrive. The food was outstanding and room perfect. We returned for our first anniversary and we were made to feel special from the beginning of our stay
- Howard (10/5): Faultless service! - The relaxed vibe. Leaving.
- Loch (9/5): A very comfortable stay in a high quality establishment. - Excellent service - highly competent staff and quality service - felt like a guest rather than just a customer.
Nice dinner in the evening with a number of family members that joined us. Everything was good - no dislikes.
- Wendy (10/5): A short stay that will remain in our memory - All the staff are keen to deliver excellent service and go above and beyond. The attention to detail is first rate. It feels like you're staying in an exotic country house! Leaving

- Mary (10/5): Exceptional -
- David (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jacqui (4/5): Lovely staff, but was disappointed as I was expecting 5 star treatment and decor. - Lovely staff and beautiful location and grounds We thought it should be graded as a 3+star, it should definitely not be a 5star
- Stuart (10/5): Exceptional -
- Graeme (8/5): Very good - The staff were excellent and attentive. The food was delicious. No Spa or gym.
- Kim (10/5): Attentive Staff - This was a gift for a birthday for my mother in law. She spoke very highly of the attentiveness of the staff and the little touches around the resort.
- James (10/5): We had a excellent stay in a beautiful hotel. - Breakfast was delicious and a great selection of food something for everyone. There was nothing we didn't like
- Jill (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lorna (8/5): Lovely relaxing stay - location is great for exploring elsewhere but also plenty local, rural walks to enjoy. - Location. It was peaceful and quiet - quite olde worlde but with a nice modern twist too. Open fires are lovely. Bed nice and big but mattress slightly too hard.
Restaurant is nice but expensive - one off treat .. personally I don’t think the food is worth the price.
- Carpenter (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nicola (10/5): Luxury stay in a tranquil location - The welcome was outstanding, the staff were accommodating, friendly and couldn’t do enough for you. The facilities were amazing, we left feeling relaxed.
- Jacqui (10/5): Perfect way to celebrate our 60th anniversary. - Everything from start to finish was just perfect, the staff were all friendly, and the food both at afternoon tea and dinner were delicious. The hotel is absolutely stunning and the shortbread in our room was definitely an added bonus.

Everything about our stay was superb - the welcome, our room, the food and the genuine helpfulness and attentiveness of the amazing staff.
Thank you very much. Nothing!
If you need a tablecloth to appreciate your experience, the hospitality and the quality of the food, you need to go somewhere else!! No idea where that could be though!
- Francis (10/5): Exceptional -
- Richard (10/5): Simply wonderful. - Our whole Cromlix experience was outstanding. The hotel and grounds are beautiful and the room more than exceeded expectations, We benefitted from an upgrade which was very generous and very much appreciated. Nothing
- Olha (10/5): Exceptional - This was my pick from the trip. From the moment we walked through their doors, their hospitality was unmatched. They looked after us like we were part of their family. It was the best meal we ate for our entire trip too! We simply could not fault this place.
- Trevor (10/5): Exceptional -
- Gillian (6/5): Pleasant - The smell of the place is absolutely amazing , hence why I bought 2 of their candles, bit pricey at £39 though. Staff very slow in bringing ordered drinks , staff were to busy talking to people that were obviously friends having afternoon tea . I had ribeye steak costing nearly £50 which was full of grizzle .At breakfast asked for toast , Andy Murray's wife was sitting at next table so staff were fussing over her while we waited a very long time on our toast .
Bedroom was to hot , we couldn't open the windows, duvet was a double on a single bed which was mega heavy and kept falling of , never slept a wink .
Room not as nice as one we had last year but was still lovely .
Last year when we went up to our bedroom we had handmade truffles this year we git a tiny wee bit tablet left on our bed .
Feel a bit let down from last year to be honest.
- Gordon (10/5): Celebrating my wife’s 70th Birthday with an overnight stay in the Thyme junior suite. Everything outstanding. - Exceptional!!!!! Nothing!!!!
- Adrian (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kevin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nicol (10/5): Exceptional - We were very fortunate to be upgraded to Fennel room. Perfect Nothing
- Bernard (9/5): Superb -
- William (10/5): Perfect for our second wedding anniversary. We spent our first here also. - Outstanding service, food and staff couldn't do enough for us. The facilities were exceptional with attention to detail second to none Nothing
- Alan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kengray (8/5): A great hotel and a real alternative close to Gleneagles - The drive from the road upto the hotel is great it keeps you guessing for whats in store! when you arrive you will not be disappointed. The entrance hallway / reception was very impressive and having the fire burning away helped with the ambience. The Glasshouse restaurant!! it really didn't match the quality of food being served. It was fine for breakfast and lunch but for dinner it had canteen feel........ maybe if the put tablecloths on the tables for dinner service it would help a little. It's a real shame!! as the food was amazing but not somewhere for a tasting menu or wine pairing.
- Frederick (10/5): Luxury - Beautiful location Lovely decor friendly helpful staff
- Tracey (10/5): My husband and I had an amazing stay at Cromlix and being our 3rd time we cannot wait to return. From the moment you dri - Love the location as it’s so quiet with beautiful surroundings to explore.
The excellent staff from the moment you arrive to the moment you leave. The comfortable room, the attention to detail in the room from Andy’s grans shortbread to the wonderful teas and coffees. And the food….amazing Nothing
- Gary (10/5): Wonderful stay - didn't want to leave! - Everything! The staff were all wonderful and very well trained. The food was fabulous. The interior decor of the hotel was outstanding creating fantastic ambience throughout all areas of the hotel. A very small point - a chair or stool would have been useful to have in the bathroom to put items on. Having said that, the bathroom was incredible!
- Brian (10/5): Exceptional - Staff were great. Well trained, very pleasant and knowledgeable. Nothing
- Alice (10/5): Wonderful, exceptional - Fabulous hotel with wonderful staff, lovely surroundings and delicious food. The staff were so friendly, kind and helpful and even treated us to a little surprise desert as we were celebrating my retirement and my daughters birthday Nothing
- Patty (9/5): Superb -
- Jen (10/5): Exceptional -
- Belinda (9/5): Superb - Upgrade, super large room and fantastic bathroom. Beautiful decor, warm and welcoming, everywhere clean and well presented. Lovely surrounding grounds.
- Lynda (10/5): Cromlix has a very relaxed quiet atmosphere, and the staff are lovely, - the food for breakfast and dinner was delicious but would suggest more varied vegetarian/vegan choices for evening meals particularly if staying for more than one night. Rooms are gorgeous and very comfortable. More inspired vegetarian/vegan choices for evening meals. More sockets in the bedroom and mirror on the wall near a socket for ladies to dry their hair. Hooks on the doors for coats.
- Shirley (10/5): Total relaxation and elegance. - Dinner was spectacularly good, with wonderful flavors and cooked to perfection, as was breakfast. The staff are trained to a very high standard and make you feel welcome and important. It's class without being stuffy. A very warm welcome, and a beautiful warm and cosy atmosphere everywhere. Rooms were large and all facilities in room were outstanding. We went a walk in the gardens and got a bit lost, not much signage. Was also very muddy underfoot, but that's our fault, we should have taken a pair of wellingtons that were provided at front door.
- John (10/5): Cromlix offered an outstanding stay, with attentive staff. Unforgettable experience!! - Cromlix Hotel provided an exceptional experience! The staff went above and beyond, ensuring that my vegan dietary needs were met with a creative and delicious selection of meals. The attention to detail and the warm, welcoming service made for an unforgettable stay. I highly recommend Cromlix for anyone looking for luxury paired with top-notch hospitality.
- Peter (9/5): Beautiful hotel, disappointing evening meal - Beautiful luxurious hotel, grounds really nice to walk round.
Fantastic room, upgraded on arrival
Great staff, well looked after.
Really enjoyed the breakfast Dinner Menu disappointing, limited choice and over complicated, even for fine dining and price paid.
Unfortunately at Dinner, seated right next to family with child and baby who failed to settle; not great given it was supposed to be a romantic meal for our anniversary. Fortunately able to be relocated, but only at our request.
Better consideration should have given as to where to best place them in relation to other couples - felt sorry for those on adjacent tables who appeared to be constantly disturbed for the next couple of hours.
- Lucy (10/5): Incredible! - Everything! Amazing!
- Jackie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ali (10/5): Excellent country house hotel - Lovely country house hotel, lots of walks and nice relaxing places to sit
- Gillian (10/5): A Luxourious hotel that will not disappoint! - Beautiful location with excellent staff in the restaurant and bar. Luxurious interior that is fantastic for a special occasion.,
- Nelson (10/5): Exceptional -
- Henderson (10/5): atmosphere was amazing , could not fault anything , 5 star - breakfast , dinner and room everything was 5 star
- Coleen (10/5): Exceptional -
- Zoe (10/5): just lovely - we visited for a wedding and you did a fabulous job - we will be back . our visit was too short
- Barbara (10/5): Scottish Royalty - From the minute we entered the property we were treated like royalty from a glass of prosecco in reception to every member of staff asking constantly if we needed anything. The facilities were amazing and the decor was lovely. Nothing really. You get what you pay for so you expect special treatment
- Brian (9/5): Superb - The staff were exceptional
- Henry (10/5): Are exquisite time and a wonderful experience. - Such a beautiful hotel in charming country surroundings.
So well staffed with many competent and pleasant members. A bit restrictive for infirm or elderly. No lift and no ground floor accommodation
- Hislop (9/5): Overnight away - Staff and size of hotel No draft beer available
- Steele (9/5): Still loved the property- a couple of tweaks and would have been a 10 - Beautiful proertand location No A/C and had some toilet issues
- Catherine (10/5): Birthday treat - The location is beautiful, stunning grounds, gardens. The hotel itself is a bit of luxury. Staff are welcoming and service is first class .
- Adam (9/5): Superb -
- Trevor (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jeffery (8/5): Beautiful inside and out - The grounds were beautiful and the building was beautiful. It was a nice bathroom. The breakfast was really nice. The bedroom was too small. We didn’t even have room to open our suitcases. There are not enough plugs. The room was too hot! There were not enough plugs to have the fan on and charge our phones.
- Penny (8/5): Luxurious and relaxing - Peaceful location. Fabulous decor and art. Great staff. Bedroom a bit small
- Jess (10/5): Could not have been better just wish stay had been longer. - Absolutely everything. All the staff were friendly and welcoming. A lady working in the gardens came over and carried my suitcase to the door for me when I arrived. Restaurant staff were more than happy to change something on the menu if you asked.
The breakfast was the best I have ever had in a hotel.
Whisky cream porridge brûlée was wonderful.
Reception staff were also very helpful and welcoming and they took time to explain everything.
The decor in the Lavendar bedroom was very tasteful with so much attention paid to detail. Fantastic tea/coffee station. Comfortable bed, small comfortable sofa to relax in and a fantastic powerful rain shower . NODM toiletries and throughout downstairs there was a beautiful subtle fragrance which I was told was a mixture of oils by Andy and Kim and it was not available to purchase sadly so I had to make do with a Cromlix candle.
All staff were smartly dressed and well trained. Nothing at all
- Sheila (10/5): Exceptional -
- Phil (10/5): A luxurious stay in the heart of Central Scotland - This is the second time we have stayed at Cromlix but the first since 2019 and the new renovations. The decor and ambience have really improved the hotel. The rooms are luxurious with everything you could possibly need. The toiletries in the bathroom were so nice my wife ended up purchasing them from reception when we left. The staff are all friendly and helpful. We took the opportunity to walk the grounds and lake in our Barbour wellies as it was raining! Brollies and Wellingtons are available for all to use if needed. We ate in for both dinner and breakfast and the food was delicious. There is plenty of room in the hotel to relax including a snooker room where you can help yourself to complimentary chocolates. Thanks to the Hotel and its staff for another peaceful slice of luxury. Nothing.
- Carol (10/5): Fantastic will be going back - Everything Nothing
- Martin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anonymous (10/5): The perfect stay - Everything perfect, a clear 10
- Doug (9/5): Stress free, relaxing, super comfortable, amazing staff. Wonderful stay. - Rooms were beautiful, very clean and spacious.
Breakfasts were fantastic.
All the staff were fantastic - very professional, engaging and efficient.
Attention to detail. eg - providing bottles of sun cream on hot days. Food was well cooked and presented, however, slightly disappointed in the limited use of local produce.
If staying for a weekend, the same menu was in place each night, would of been nice to see an alternative over the weekend.
- Carmel (9/5): Perfect - enjoyed our 2 day stay celebrating our wedding anniversary. - We really enjoyed our stay - the staff were exceptional, the setting and decor beautiful and the food (breakfast and dinner) delicious. Well situated with lots of local activities/places to see and enjoy. Would have liked a wider choice of beers please
- Peter (9/5): Superb -
