Guest Reviews
- Victor (9/5): Bon rapport qualité prix , petit déjeuné au top ! - Le petit déjeuner était très bon ! La chambre avec balcon était très bien , on recommande. Rien
- Daniel (8/5): - Very good location. The owner is super nice.
- Izabela Weronika (10/5): - The owner is very helpful and accommodating, highly recommended if you’re staying in Fogo for few days
- jean Yves (8/5): - Très bien
- Stefan (8/5): - Super friendly host who drove us to Chã das Caldeiras and picked us up again there. Included lots of information about life with the volcano, photo stops, and a particularly charming return trip. The hotel is super clean but showing its age. 20 minutes' walk to the airport. Breakfast simple but okay and appropriate for the price. Good communication via WhatsApp. Our room was ready early. The hotel is a bit run down. The beds are quite uncomfortable and it is quite noisy.
- Antonio (9/5): - Posizione Doccia mal funzionante
- Angélique (7/5): - Bien placé - simple - propre - le personnel est très gentil et serviable. Salle de bain un peu vétuste - chambre sombre donnant sur un petit patio avec une fenêtre en verre dépoli empêchant toute vue extérieure.
- Wagner (6/5): - Frühstück war ok Das Bad war etwas spartanisch

- Charles (9/5): - Stayed one night and very pleased. I did the walk from the airport and yes about 20 minutes flat. The room was clean and the A/C worked well. Great location, right near the square. I really liked the spacious balcony. Breakfast provided and on the more basic side but still fine to start the day.
- Lucas (8/5): Es recomendable - El trato del propietario Poca luz en la habitación
- Giorgio (9/5): Superb -
- Jens (8/5): Good place for a few days - Very friendly owner, good breakfast, excellent wifi, great location (supermarkets, restaurats, taxis within a few minutes walk, airport 20 minutes by foot)
- Mohamed (10/5): Exceptional place!! - One of the best hotels that I have stayed in.
Everything was clean and comfortable, The location is perfect just a few minutes to the beach, the city center, airport (by car or taxi). The owner Ulisses was the one who made the stay 10/10, he is very helpful, friendly and kind.
Do yourself a favour and stay here the next time you visit sao filipe
- Angeles (10/5): Exceptional - MUCHAS GRACIAS
- Emily (10/5): 10/10 - A very comfortable stay - warm shower, aircon and shutters on the windows meant it was certainly one of the most comfortable places I stayed while travelling in CV on a budget. No complaints!
- Erikadaug (7/5): Needs some improvement - Comfortable bed.
Good location (close to everything).
It was clean.
I was able to leave my bag for a few hours after check out. Very little communication. The girl who let me in just showed me my room and that's it.
If staff doesn't speak english maybe it would be a good idea just to leave some info in the rooms (what time is the breakfast and where it is, wifi password, check out time etc.) I didn't get any of this info. But luckily still got some breakfast at 9am on the terrace upstairs.
The door locks. Wtf is that. I woke up in the middle of the night and saw my door open (just a little gap) and it is really scary situation when you are solo traveling woman. I made a conclusion that I just didn't close my door properly (the lock from inside is kind of rock science too) but all good. I survived but you just need to make sure to close that door with a little bit of force..
And the lighting in the room is pretty bad too.
- Esmira (10/5): Highly recommend this place - It has the best location: 15-20 mins walking from the airport (you won't need a taxi if you doesn't have much baggage), 10 mins to the beach and 2-3 mins to grocery shops or restaurants
Also the Aluger station you will find next to the Municipal Market which is 5 mins walking from the hotel.
As for the hotel, of course it seems a lil bit tired inside, but everything works: you will have a super comfy bed, aircon, free wifi with good signal and even a fridge. On the upper floor there is a dining room where you can get glasses, plates or corkscrew if you need.
Also there are some rooms with nice open balcony so you can get some take away food and chill here.
Also you can ask for a laundry service, which is great foe those who travel with a backpack like me
As for the brekfast, which is included: nice local coffee, super fresh bread, ham and cheese, butter and even peanut butter, hard boiled eggs and fresh local fruits. The best way to start your day. And you will be lucky if the owner will be there , once he brought fresh goat cheese and papaya from the market, it was so nice that you will never get anything better even at 5 stars hotel, I mean it.
As for the owner: Ulysse has perfect English which is a lil bit exotic for Cabo Verde! It's not that new and some walls mb need a lil bit painting but frankly it's not that important compared to everything else
- Samantha (8/5): Very good - Centrally located & only a 20 min walk from the airport.
Good breakfast & access to the kitchen
Ulisses was super helpful & provided an early breakfast box for me to take away.
- Elke (5/5): Passable - It is too loud. Around the house is too much traffic and people are crying.
- Marta (8/5): Very good - The owner is super friendly. Room was clean and spacious, loved the balcony. Well located. Breakfast was also great No hot water and weak internet
- Jule (8/5): We mostly enjoined our stay - Breakfast was ok. Nothing wrong. Hotel is ok but outdated, it needs new investment.
- Svitlana (10/5): The host was incredibly welcoming. The breakfast was great, with everything you need, and it was very tasty. The locatio -
- Andreas (10/5): Very nice and clean place. Very friendly host. We stayed there two times, very happy both times. -
- Ian (9/5): Superb - Ulisses and his wife are very friendly, helpful hosts. Delicious breakfast. Good size bedrooms with comfortable beds. Good value for money. Near airport, town centre and 10 mins from beach. Not being able to stay for longer. Next time I will stay a while!
- Paolo (6/5): Pleasant - The owner, Ulysses, is a young, energetic welcoming and wholehearted man with a solid history of working and studying abroad who runs the family business himself. The dining hall where breakfast is served is spacious and airy with a fine little terrace offering a lovely view over the busy yet relaxing neighborhood. At the very belly button of downtown Sao filipe. The whole house is clean, spick and span one might say. I was somewhat surprised to find that the hot water was not running, and would stay that way for the rest of the ten day stay. This did not seem to amount to a big deal for anyone, even though Ulysses did apologise when I asked about it. In fact it looked like the personnel asked themselves why would one want warm water to only take a shower? To speak the truth, the water was less cold than you might think. Still each time it would take a while before that gasping feeling went away. Sorry, in a couple of occasions, breakfast fell short of complete
- Luca (10/5): Exceptional - Bravo Ulisse 👍
