• Adam (10/5): Great for a holiday to switch off and relax in the nature - The island is peaceful and quiet and the huts are completely surrounded by nature. The sauna is hot and can be used at any time. You can swim at the piers or the one of the few small sand beaches. Nothing it was perfect

Wir hatten Wetterglück und die 4 Tage waren superschön. - Unser Häuschen Nr.9 hatte eine wunderbare Lage (würde nicht für alle Häuschen gleichermassen zutreffen). Die Insel ist superschön, und die umliegenden Inseln, die man paddelnd erreichen kann, auch. So toll, mit dem Kanu einkaufen zu gehen! Toll, dass es eine Sauna hat. Es ist wunderbar ruhig. Das Beste ist die Liebenswürdigkeit der Gastgeber von Gistholmen. Sie sind wirklich aussergewöhnlich freundlich, eine wahre Freude! Man fühlt sich sehr gut aufgehoben. Toll auch, dass man je nach Bedürfnis total allein für sich sein kann, oder andere Gäste kennenlernen bei gemeinsamen Aktivitäten. Wir finden die zusätzlich zu zahlenden Services ziemlich teuer. Es wäre schön, wenn die Bettwäsche (250 Kronen pro Person), die Kanu-Benutzung (150 Kronen pro 4h) und die Reinigung (900 Kronen) inklusive wäre. Die Reinigung war nicht in allen Bereichen gut. Das Besteck war schmierig, die Gläser bildeten Schaum, weil das Spülmittel nicht gut gespült war...

• Keri (6/5): It was a lovely escape to nature from the bustling city of London. - The location was on the water, beautiful views, boats and fishing rods to rent, clean sauna and dock for jumping into water. We made s’mores in fire pit and foraged for berries. The host was helpful in helping us book nearby things to do like kayak rentals and goat herding for the kids. The cabin was small but clean. For five people we were tight and did not have much space for luggage. You need to go prepared with food. And can paddle or take a ferry to nearby islands to visit a food store.

• Christa (10/5): Heavenly, we would love to come back. - The staff was really very friendly. It was quiet on the island, we had plenty of time to relax. The sauna is also just great. The cabin is wonderful with great facilities. The equipment in the kitchen could be a little better, after all you have to transport everything to the island (e.g. kettle, larger pots, towels). There were hidden costs which were not clearly stated on Booking and unfortunately not on the homepage either (for example you have to pay 250 krone per person for bed linen and towels, the boat costs 150 krone etc.)It would just be better if you could look up the costs somewhere in advance.

• Aldona (8/5): Great island and lovely cabin - Really nice cabin, clean and has everything you need We got a different cabin instead of the one we booked because we had a dog, and this one was smaller and older than the one we booked. It wasn’t a big problem, but it’d be good to know it in advance if only some cabins allow for dogs.

• Débora (9/5): Fantastic island and fantastic experience! - Amazing views and great walks in the forest! I was surprised to have to clean the house before check-out. It was probably written in swedish and small letters anyway in the booking mail but it's important to make it very very clear. Also think that they could offer more family games and fishing equipment. As there's no restaurants or shops in the island we had to bring everything so there was not mush space left for extra equipments and games.

• Aleksei (10/5): Perfect place for family vacation - Calm island for a perfect family vacation. There is a very good bath with direct access to the Baltic sea. Houses have a beautiful view on the sea. At the beginning of June 2023 there are mosquitoes. So be prepared and bring mosquito spray.
