Guest Reviews
- Mark (9/5): We enjoyed the fantastic location in close proximity to Leith Hill and other walking areas. - Milk and snacks in the room were very welcome. The room had cutlery and crockery plus a microwave and kettle for the preparation of meals. The location very near to Leith Hill and other areas of natural beauty was great for walking in the hills.

- kevin (10/5): Thank you for a lovely stay, we will be back again - Beautiful room, furnished very nicely, lovely and cosy even though it was very cold outside. It was also nice and quiet Nothing. It ticked all the boxes
- Stephen (10/5): -

- Michael (9/5): Very cosy, warm place to stay and the hosts were friendly and helpful - A basket of treats, which were a very nice touch, as I was unwell and they came in very handy Maybe the kettle being placed on the large chest of draws, to give a safe place to make tea and coffee.
- Alison (10/5): Perfect and very comfortable -
- Anne (10/5): Amazing cottage in Surrey, perfect stay for a weekend. - Location was great. Very easy to enter/leave the cottage. All the kind attentions like snacks, plates, tea and milk in the fridge. Everything was perfect. Maybe the mattress could be slightly improved, but this is very minor!
- Jane (10/5): Lovely restful few days for us. We will be returning. - Lovely and clean. Ideal for our 3 day trip. Everything was provided. Milk in the fridge and some nice items left in a large bowl for us. Crisps were lovely. Nothing
- Lesley (10/5): Comfortable, quiet and just what I needed - The owner of the property was friendly,, xshowed me everything I needed to see and explained everything, so I felt at home and comfortable. She then left me her phone number, assured me that she would answer aný questions, but would not bother me during mý stay
There were really nice snacks and proper coffee, a fridge, kettle, microwave and a toaster, hairdryer, iron and ironing board. Luxury! Nothing I can think of immediately
- Victoria (9/5): Superb -
- Justine (10/5): Exceptional - Nice location , quite and pretty, warm comfy room
- Jane (10/5): Recommend to anyone they even provided croissants Waitrose fresh orange mince pies etc etc - Above and beyond what we expected Nothing of importance
- Anonymous (10/5): Fantastic short stay at The Nightjar - Everything was as expected and our hosts Lucy and Daryl were very helpful during a power outage. They came over and offered to give us a flask of hot water as we couldn’t boil the kettle (which we accepted) and kept us updated when the power was back. I can’t fault anything about the property or the hosts and would definitely consider booking again (although maybe not on a storm weekend!)
- Nat (10/5): A cosy hideaway in a picturesque village, perfect for a relaxing weekend. - The property was wonderfully developed with the perfect amenities available. The bedroom itself was cozy with a very comfortable bed and plenty of warm lighting. The bathroom and shower was modern, very clean and the toiletries provided were a lovely touch. Lucy’s instructions for checking in were clear and her recommendations for food were excellent too. We went to the Parrot in Forest Green and would recommend it highly.
- Glynn (10/5): Five star stay - Very stylish annex that looked as though it had been designed by a professional with great taste. It was also very comfortable. One of the local pubs, where they do good food is just a short walk away. It's a bit of a trek from the annex to the car park but that's about all.
- Kay (10/5): See note above - Tastefully furnished with every need accounted for
Cosy, comfortable and relaxing
- John (10/5): Very good will book again soon - Lovely room nice and quiet great shower room
- Peter (10/5): Exceptional - Superb accommodation, very much what we were looking for, spotlessly clean and all to a very good standard - thank you so much
- Marcus (10/5): Exceptional -
- Graham (10/5): Lovely, peaceful….. - Self contained room. Great shower‼️ comfy bed and good WiFi. Lovely quiet spot, but further away from Guildford than ideal for me… but all around excellent.
- Marcus (10/5): Perfect home from home ! - Spotlessly clean, comfortable, great shower and bathroom. Çan’t think of a single negative! Nothing !
- Jean (10/5): Highly recommend Nightjar, what a gem. - Spotlessly clean and everything provided you could possibly need. There was even a bottle of milk in the fridge. Tea, coffee, biscuits.and cereal were awaiting us.
The decor was great and furnished to a very high stranded. Super shower and toiletries.
. Can’t think of anything.
- Martin (10/5): Wonderful; would definitely stay again! - Very comfortable in a quiet setting; lovely village with easy access to London and Southeast. Difficult to find on GPS.
- Sowter (8/5): Ideal for a short stay to explore the area. - Very clean and comfortable. Lucy was very welcoming. Basket of goodies, tea & coffee etc much appreciated. Space for kettle etc a bit restricted.
- Andrew (9/5): Thoughtful hosts go the extra mile to create a delightful place to stay - Our hosts really thought of everything. They have packed so much into the well-designed space, with so many thoughtful touches that made our stay that much more special.
- Jo (9/5): Superb - Lucy was very accommodating, providing plant milks & vegan snacks for me on arrival! Great, quick communication & location was in a lovely spot - I had a nice morning run around the green!
- Sharon (10/5): Lovely 😁 - Beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean accommodation with unexpected extras ie snacks, milk, bottled water and toiletries. Host very helpful and friendly. Lighting from where car parked to accommodation without a torch when dark bit tricky, but short distance and good lighting around accommodation.
- Amy (9/5): Lovely short stay - Very homely, fresh and welcoming. TV had plenty of streaming services. Bathroom was modern and sparkling clean. Complimentary toiletries and snacks / breakfast bits were a really nice touch and much appreciated. Only thing to improve is the pillows - would be good to have some extras stored away incase people prefer more.
- Steven (10/5): Second Visit - Not Disappointed - Has everything you would need, selection of cereals, milk and biscuits a welcome touch. Very comfortable accommodation. A more comfortable chair to sit in at night while watching TV
- William (7/5): A pleasant place to stay that worked well for me. - Nice country location. Basic facilities but excellent quality and appearance. Conveniences like fridge, microwave, snacks and coffee were great. Did not appear to have aircon. For my purposes I was away during most of the day when the hot weather heated up the space and I had to open windows and use the fan to cool it down in the evening …not a problem for me but if I’d wanted to spend the day it may have been problematic.
- Claire (10/5): Lovely stay at Nightjar - Wonderful stay at Nightjar. Lovely room in a beautiful area of the country. Beautifully decorated, great facilities filled with little touches. The snacks provided were really welcomed after a long journey. Thank you so much for a lovely weekend
- Georgina (10/5): Exceptional - An amazing location for Gatwick. Beautifully decorated and has a really lovely homely feel to it. A quiet location and a very comfortable stay. Hosts are very contactable and helpful for any questions. I don't think I can find one!
- Sandra (10/5): Fantastic B&B with very helpful owners - What a lovely place to stay! Very comfortable, lots of little additions that went the extra mile such as the pint of milk, array of biscuits, crisps and pain au chocolat. I also loved the cafetiere, and the jar of coffee! Little decking area with table and chairs. Owners were very helpful with directions etc before arrival. Nothing, everything was great.
- Andrew (10/5): I travel for work and this property was perfect - I love everything about this property, very comfortable stay The perfect property
- Janet (9/5): Visiting my daughter and used as a base. Worked very well. - Worked for us as bed and breakfast (organise your own) in the Nightjar
- Steven (9/5): Small but comfortable - Great location, lovely little touches on arrival and everything I needed for a relaxing and comfortable stay. Nothing
- Debbie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lyndsay (10/5): A comfortable stay in a beautiful location - Spacious and with everything you need. The freebie food and milk was so helpful. The bed was comfy. It was very quiet. Nothing
- Lynn (9/5): Will return again at some point I am sure -
- Valerie (9/5): A peaceful interlude exuding good taste, consideration, close to interesting places to visit. - Idyllic little Surrey village. Nearby farmshop was excellent for all provisions. Village pub close by fine for casual use and meals. The Nightjar is small, self contained but every detail is carefully and tastefully planned, probably best for warm weather touristy breaks or somewhere for a very comfortable stopover eg business or escape from the family for a few hours if it's a family reunion, like us. Excellent shower facilities. Microwave, fridge, utensils etc for quick meals. We found the bed comfortable, always a plus ! Basics like milk, coffees, water bottles, cereal all there for us. It turned out NOT to be problem, but, yes, the building is close to house as others have noted, but the owners, including children, were very discreet and considerate. No intrusion.
An extra fold up chair for two to sit and eat or watch TV
- Christopher (10/5): Exceptional - Immaculate, comfortable, everything you could want for a healthy breakfast. Nothing
- Anthony (9/5): Ideal location and accommodation for visiting family nearby. Will stay again. - Self-catering with many thoughtful extras. Good quality fixtures and fittings and comfortable bed - most important! Nothing to dislike but would have preferred a not-so-snug chair to sit in.
- Simon (8/5): Excellent stay, marred by a small injury on the driveway. - This is a room only, with limited facilities for making your own coffee / tea / breakfast / toast. Room is excellently decorated, comfortable and reasonably quiet (passing motor vehicles on the nearby road are audible).
We had no contact with the owners, key was in a key safe (with the correct code) and the room even had a first aid kit (which we needed) Given the time of year (February), we arrived after dark and there is a short walk of 50 to 100 metres from the parking area. However, with no illumination and lumps in the tarmac, we stumbled, on the drive way in the dark, fell and ended up with an abrasion as a result (we did use a small battery torch, which did not make matters much better). Better lighting (or a smoother driveway) would have been helpful.
- Anne (10/5): Exceptional - It was very charming and the hosts were incredibly kind and helpful.
- Speight (10/5): Exceptional - Excellent facilities Nothing to dislike
- Robert (9/5): Superb -
- Susan (9/5): Bijou apartment with comfort & great hosts - lovely out of the way location with excellent comfort. Had a problem with the microwave being so low down but apart from that everything wonderful.
- Thomas (10/5): Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Nightjar - Excellent shower. Room lovely and clean. Although close to the owners house they were very friendly but respected our privacy.Enjoyed the place so much we stayed an extra night and looking forward to coming back again!
- Ella (10/5): Lovely owners with a beautiful home from home - peacefully quiet! and amazing amenities! nothing
- Val (10/5): Exceptional - Everything Nothing
